This study aimed to propose a structure that makes it possible to highlight budget expenditures with children’s education students. The methodology used was descriptive, with qualitative data and obtaining the bibliographical and documentary data. The secondary data were obtained through the Information System on Public Budgets in Education (ISPBE) and School Census. Both made available by the National Fund for Education Development (NFED), with 137 municipalities in Mato Grosso that reported information to ISPBE the financial year 2015. The results suggest that it is possible to improve the legal, managerial, and social control of information, starting with the budget structure, using resources already existing in the municipalities. The contribution of the research is to suggest the mandatory inclusion of expense finder in the draft legislation that is going through the process in the National Congress, replacing the text of Law 4.320/64, which will bring greater security and reliability of the information declared to the ISPBE, besides evidencing how much in fact it invests in education in the country, especially in child education and also to improve transparency and fight against corruption.

Students' application for higher education admission is significantly increasing from time to time. As a result, it effects the increasing financial cost to provide the facilities, human resources, and others. A student with high potential but cannot afford to cover the expenses, has no opportunity for his further studies due to their financial problem. Financing problems for higher education institutions is not a new problem, in fact, it becomes a big issue nowadays. Brunei Darussalam is fortunate since the government still provides free education for locals who fulfill the requirements. However, currently, there are complaints from the parents on educational financing. The same situation will happen in Brunei if we do not find a solution that can solve the problem. This research will identify to what extent waqf credibility can solve the financial problems for higher education students. The research methodology will be used as a descriptive qualitative by analyzing the content by reviewing informative secondary data such as journals, paper works, and relevant articles. In order to solve the financial problems in a higher education institution, waqf contribution is very significant and should be expanded for higher education development as an ummah development agent.

This article is a case study of Brazil, a country where Catholic-based organizations have historically played a key role in providing education and welfare services. Since the 1980s, these organizations have supported progressive changes at both the national and subnational levels. Nevertheless, the influence of religion on education policy has shifted in the last few decades. Pentecostal and Neopentecostal groups have gained prominence through representatives in the National Congress, and, in 2018, formed a coalition enabling the election of a right-wing populist President. We analyse the trajectory of religious groups’ influence on Brazil’s education policy over time (colonization to the 1980s, the 1980s to the beginning of the 2000s, and the 2000s until now) through a qualitative-historical analysis of primary and secondary data. This article argues that both Catholic and Protestant groups have influenced progressive changes in Brazil’s education policy, but they also share conservative ideas impeding further advances.

This paper examines the impact of financial crisis through the lens of NGOs and philanthropy activities in Malaysia. It utilises primary and secondary data, employs a mixed method approach, and uses quantitative and qualitative data. While there are many influencing factors in this development, this paper presents several significant aspects in the Malaysian context, including the style and nature of giving, culture, religion, and political pressure. This study attempts to seek potential solutions, pathways and possible approaches beneficial to NGOs and philanthropy activities for their sustainability in facing the financial crisis and its consequences. Corruption still subsists as one of the greatest challenges facing Nigeria. The existence of this phenomenon in virtually all aspects of the nation’s socio-economic life is said to be one reason why poverty level remains high irrespective of her position as the six highest suppliers of oil to the whole wide world, and a possessor of numerous other human and natural resources. A recent attempt by the Federal Government of Nigeria to curb this societal ill led to the establishment of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), the Independent Corrupt Practices & Related Offences Commission (ICPC) among others bodies. This paper historically explores the anti-corruption war in Nigeria and specifically zeros itself to review EFCC’s role in this war. The methodology adopted in this paper is the narrative-textual case study (NTCS), a research method that sources the required quantitative and qualitative secondary data on the phenomenon of study from secondary sources like the internet, World Wide Web, online databases, e-libraries  et cetera. On the strength of the qualitative data sourced, it was discovered that the agency has made some successes but is being hindered by political, administrative and judicial bureaucracy from efficient performance. The paper therefore boldly recommends that transparency be enshrined into all aspect Nigerian political and administrative life and extant anti-graft laws be reviewed, harmonized and strengthened to enhance the effectiveness of fight against corruption and breach of corporate governance ethics by those holding political and non-political positions in Nigeria.
