Learning is a fundamental element of people’s everyday lives. Learning experiences can take the form of our interactions with others, through attending an educational establishment, etc. Not everyone learns in the same way, and even people who are considered to have a similar standard of abilities or proficiency will exhibit different learning styles. This does not necessarily mean that some students are better than others; it means that students are different from one another. Adaptive e-learning system should be capable of adapting the content to the user learning style, abilities and knowledge level. In this paper, we investigate the benefits of incorporating learning styles and dyslexia type in adaptive e-learning systems. Adaptivity aspects based on dyslexia type and learning styles enrich each other, enabling systems to provide learners with materials which fit their needs more accurately. Besides, consideration of learning styles and dyslexia type can contribute to more accurate student modelling. In this paper, the relationship between learning styles, the Felder–Silverman learning style model (FSLSM), and dyslexia type, is investigated. These relationships will lead to a more reliable student model.

Abstract Practically, santri in the Salafi pesantren when facing various challenges of globalization, of course, do a lot of various efforts to develop santri activities to perfect the learning system that is still in the context of the Salaf tradition. From the point of view of value theory, what is done by the salaf santri is not merely a resistance to globalization, but from various breakthroughs made by santri can be categorized as a form of modernity towards an enhanced santri value (project identity), namely a form of creativity to realize value certain can be applied, even though santri implicitly connotes traditional Islamic education actors, but that does not mean that all santri in the existing salafi pesantren are always closed with innovation, technological progress and globalization. Although it is a thick boarding school known as a traditional Islamic boarding school, Malnu Center boarding schools in all its systems do not close themselves to all forms of change, even adjust to the needs of society and the times.

Ali Bin Abi Talib once said that children should be educated in accordance with the  development of the times. The Ali bin Abi Talib’s statement could be considered as his attention more to the development of human civilization. For that reason, there should be studies focused on the role of educational institutions in facing the challenges of the times. On this stand, the writer raises the existence of pesantren (Islamic boarding schools) for being considered to have been able to survive amid the onslaught of civilization increasingly obscuring cultural identity. In addition, this study also aims to identify and discuss the role of pesantren in the modern era. This is a literature study using a descriptive and exploratory approach. It can be concluded that pesantren are non-formal Islamic educational institutions. Pesantren have permanent and distictive methods and learning models. The purpose of pesantren education is the same as Islamic education in general, instilling a sense of virtue, familiarizing themselves with courtesy, preparing for a holy, sincere and honest life entirely. Pesantren could be seen from three aspects: (a) pesantren that are seen from facilities and infrastructures, (b) pesantren that are seen from disciplines taught, and (c) pesantren that are seen from the fields of knowledge.

The study's primary purpose is to explore the factors affecting the students' intention to use e-learning systems in the COVID pandemic. The model of the “Unified theory of acceptance and use of technology” (UTAUT) was used as a theoretical underpinning. The Independent variables include “performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, facilitating condition,” and the dependent variable is the intention to use e-learning systems. The quantitative data were collected from the postgraduate and undergraduate students of the public universities of Lahore. A total of n=411 students were approached, out of which the responses of only 399 were considered valid and were used for Multiple linear regression through SPSS 25. It was a cross-sectional study. It was found that almost all constructs of the model have a significant positive impact on intention to use e-learning systems.  The study's main contribution is exposing the factors that affect the acceptance and use of e-learning systems. This study has several policy implications for policy experts of higher education”.

Objectives: Different teaching aids are advocated in the medical colleges for delivery of lectures such as power point presentation, blackboard, transparency sheet, overhead projectors, extempore and lecture sheets .The aim of our study was to compare the more acceptable teaching methods between the students of Dhaka Medical College and Enam Medical College. Materials and Methods: Total one hundred students were selected from fourth year in each medical college. They were asked to fill in a fourteen item questionnaire about their perception of five lecture delivery methods. Questionnaire was properly explained. The results were analyzed separately to find out any differences between preferences of teaching methods in both medical colleges. Results: In DMC 50% students preferred traditional blackboard method ,25% PowerPoint presentations, 5% both blackboard and PowerPoint, 16% extempore and 4% lecture sheet .On the other hand, in EMC, 53% mentioned PowerPoint presentation as most acceptable, 38% blackboard, 5% combined blackboard and PowerPoint and 4% extempore. Some important comments were recorded which could be valuable for the medical teachers. Conclusion: The study showed that students of DMC clearly prefer traditional blackboard method rather than other teaching aids, whereas students of EMC prefer PowerPoint presentation. The study does not bring out any evidence based superiority of any lecture delivery method. It appears that any teaching aid can be appropriate and effective if the teachers are properly trained. This highlights the need for formal training in teaching technologies for good presentation and thus motivate the students. In the late 50’s or early 60’s, there were huge interests towards building learning systems for individual learning and they are called with various names such as Intelligent Tutoring System, Microworld, Computer Based Training, Computer Aided System, Intelligent Computer Aided Instruction and others. They are made to be different with regard to the technological approaches and the learning pedagogies, knowledge models and student models. Over the years, the interest of building learning systems has migrated from individual learning on content knowledge to community learning as the result of the recent Web 2.0 and Web 3.0 sociotechnological wave. The paper describes the work that was done to develop the learning system in both situations – content knowledge and social knowledge where the experiences mainly in capturing the knowledge and representing them are different
