The article analyzes the key approaches to the phenomenon of stress in the teacher's professional activity. The views of scientists on its nature, the factors that give rise to its appearance and deployment are presented. The concepts of "work stress", "organizational stress", "professional stress" are distinguished. Professional stress among teachers is viewed through the prism of an individual's individual response to the impact of a difficult situation (psychological approach). The teacher's reaction to the increased demands of the social environment for his activities is investigated (social approach). The psychological state of the teacher, determined by the powerful action of factors associated with the implementation of professional tasks (professionally oriented approach) is described. The importance of an integrated approach to the study of psychological characteristics of professional stress of teachers is emphasized. Currently, there is an acute lack of personal resources for the effective solution of current pedagogical problems, which leads to stress. The author has characterized the types of professional stress by the nature of the impact on the personality of the teacher and his/her activities. The factors determining the transformation of situational stress into chronic occupational stress have been determined. The features of informational, emotional and communicative stress in the teacher's professional activity are described. The types of stressors in pedagogical activity are highlighted. Particular attention is paid to objective and subjective stressors, in particular to interpersonal, mid-personal and motivational. General and special occupational stressors are described in detail. The differences from stressors that are controlled and not amenable to control in the conditions of pedagogical activity are determined. Attention is focused on the fact that professional stress among teachers can become a serious threat to the successful deployment of professional activity and lead to professional burnout. Cases in which professional stress becomes a stimulus prompting a teacher to develop and improve are identified.

Abstract Introduction. Currently, the work of managers is characterized by a number of factors having an unfavorable impact on human health. Stress as the main risk factor related to the professional activity is considered to be the major cause of possible poor health among the managers. Depression may result from a stress overload of managers. Aim. The authors wanted to determine the vulnerability to depression related to professional stress among healthcare managers and to assess gender and managerial work experience-specific differences. Materials and methods. A total of 235 healthcare managers working in the Republic of Belarus with various length of managerial work experience (women n=142, men n=93; mean age 45.7±1.21 years) underwent a psychological testing aimed at determining their vulnerability to depression. The results of the study were analyzed using the STATISTICA 7.0 software. Results. The vulnerability to depression in men differed from that in women (p=0.002). The predisposition to depression had significant differences between the groups with various experience of managerial work (p=0.03). The vulnerability to depression among healthcare managers increased with the length of managerial work. The highest level of vulnerability to depression was in healthcare managers with >20 years of experience (p=0.02) both in men (p=0.003) and in women (p=0.04). Conclusion. Thus, acquiring professional competences as a factor contributing to stress resistance, skills of coping with stress and alleviating its impact on the health status is very important through the whole professional activity. Healthcare managers with the length of work experience of 1-5 years are especially in need of the appropriate knowledge and skills.

The article considers the psychofunctional mechanism and the impact of physical exercises on the psychophysical condition of future water transport specialists (on the example of the use of competitive fights in hand-to-hand combat in the optional lesson "Self-defense"). From the analysis of actual sources the extreme factors of professional activity (groups of factors of natural conditions, production conditions, social and psychological factors) and interrelation of action of professional activity on a psychophysical condition of experts are defined. According to the method of tapping test: the strength of the nervous system, the effect of physical activity on the psychological state. It is established that the state of psychophysical readiness is a semantic concept and is a physical readiness of the organism, emotional-volitional, intellectual and motivational, which is manifested in the concentration of physiological capabilities of the organism (including reserve), its mental processes, general mobilization, self-confidence, emotional uplift. and the ability to realize the acquired potential. It was determined that the stabilization of the maximum rate of hand movements is associated with the general psychophysical state of the subjects, which correlates with the mental state and the effect of physical activity. Performing physical exercises physiologically affects the psychological state of water transport specialists by training the body's potential reserves. The study confirms the relationship and impact of exercise on the psychological stability of the body. Increased emotional state (fights in training, for some the first) in applicants causes a significant decrease in the maximum rate of hand movements for 10 seconds of the test with its subsequent stabilization. The second-year winners have the indicator of the absolute values of the tapping test before the fights significantly higher than the fi rst- year winners. Ambiguous indicators of asymmetry in first- and second-year applicants are a convincing prerequisite for further research in terms of forming a set of measures of volitional readiness for professional activity.

Introduction. The article for the first time structures the types of additional responsibilities of teachers, not underpinned by local regulations. The proposals for debureaucratization of the educational process in secondary schools are generalized. The aim of the study is to reveal the impact of bureaucratic burden on the social feeling of teachers of general secondary education facilities, the quality of their professional activities and to develop proposals for debureaucratization of teachers’ work. Materials and Methods. A survey of managers and teachers of educational institutions covered more than 3,000 respondents. As additional sources for the interpretation of the data, we used the methods of group interviews (two focus groups conducted among rural teachers), as well as a secondary analysis of data from the international study of the educational environment and working conditions of secondary school teachers (TALIS), conducted in 48 countries, including Russia. Results. The study broadened the idea of the impact of bureaucratization of the education system on the quality of professional activity and the social well-being of teachers. Intensification of bureaucratization of teacher work is attributed, on the one hand, to the extensive growth of additional types of work, and on the other, to the low legal awareness of teachers of educational institutions. Working with reporting documentation takes up to 90 % of the working time free from paid teaching ho urs, which practically does not leave time for the implementation of part of the pedagogical load associated with methodological, organizational and consulting activities. The study identifies activities that, according to respondents, contribute to the debureaucratization of teachers’ work. Discussion and Conclusion. The article is of interest to teachers and heads of educational organizations, regional educational authorities, and scientists, researching i nto educational problems.

Conservation takes place within social–ecological systems, and many conservation interventions aim to influence human behaviour in order to push these systems towards sustainability. Predictive models of human behaviour are potentially powerful tools to support these interventions. This is particularly true if the models can link the attributes and behaviour of individuals with the dynamics of the social and environmental systems within which they operate. Here we explore this potential by showing how combining two modelling approaches (social network analysis, SNA, and agent-based modelling, ABM) could lead to more robust insights into a particular type of conservation intervention. We use our simple model, which simulates knowledge of ranger patrols through a hunting community and is based on empirical data from a Cambodian protected area, to highlight the complex, context-dependent nature of outcomes of information-sharing interventions, depending both on the configuration of the network and the attributes of the agents. We conclude by reflecting that both SNA and ABM, and many other modelling tools, are still too compartmentalized in application, either in ecology or social science, despite the strong methodological and conceptual parallels between their uses in different disciplines. Even a greater sharing of methods between disciplines is insufficient, however; given the impact of conservation on both the social and ecological aspects of systems (and vice versa), a fully integrated approach is needed, combining both the modelling approaches and the disciplinary insights of ecology and social science. This article is part of the theme issue ‘Linking behaviour to dynamics of populations and communities: application of novel approaches in behavioural ecology to conservation’.

Introduction. The article is devoted to the analysis of the content of the institute of legal restrictions imposed on a woman who is in the civil service and performs tasks in the field of public administration. On the basis of the provisions of acts of international law and the laws of Ukraine on Civil Service, found that for women - civil servants subject to special legal restrictions, which are provided by law bans involvement of women in certain forms of their professional duties and tasks for narrowing their total workload to preserve their health and create conditions for full implementation of the social function of the mother. The main results of the study. It is proved that the relevant legislation on public service both Ukraine imposed restrictions on female civil servant to attract her to the tasks of public administration and, at the same time, it focused on social protection. This approach is contributes to the establishment of a regime of "normal living conditions for civil servants. In particular, under the law relating to limiting women's participation in official missions, limiting working hours for women, limitations associated with the transfer of female civil servant to another location and so on. Particular attention is paid to the specifics of women's performance in the field of public administration of defense and national security. It is established that many legal restrictions for women in these areas are not always observed. In particular, attention is focused on unequal age conditions for concluding a contract for military service for women, the established age limit for female conscripts, regardless of service, and the ability of men to serve in the army for 15 years longer than women. The latest changes in the legislation to correct this situation are also disclosed. Conclusions. It is noted that the legal restrictions provided for in the legislation, which are provided for women involved in public administration, despite their positive impact, narrow in some way the scope of their professional opportunities, as well as limit the actual ability to exercise power. However, their inherent social nature and the state must provide adequate compensatory mechanisms stimulating professional activity of women civil servants and minimize the impact on female civil servant consequences relevant restrictions. In its turn, optimal administration of such measures is intended to increase not only the professional performance of women as public administrators, but also enhance the social effectiveness of public administration in general.
