The routine and long-term use of oral antidiabetic drugs in DM patients can make the public's perception worried about the side effects of the drug. In the Yakon (SS) plant tuber there is Fructooligosacaraide (FOS) which can reduce blood sugar levels. The research objective was to determine the effect of Yakon plant tubers on blood sugar levels in white rats with type 2 diabetes mellitus model. This type of research was experimental with a pre-post test design with control-group design. Independent variable, administration of Yakon plant tuber powder, dependent variable, blood glucose levels. The sample was divided into 2 groups (dose 1, dose 2) and a control group, each of 6 rats. The mice were given a high carbohydrate diet for 9 weeks. Treatment dose 1 (100 mg / kgBB) for 3 days. Measurement of blood sugar levels using Gluco-Dr. Data analysis used Paired Sample T-test, Independent Sample T-test, and One Way Anova. The results showed that the rats in the treatment group dose 1 experienced a decrease in the average blood sugar level of 122.83 mg / dl (p 0.002) (p 0.009). This shows that there is an effect of using Yakon plant tuber powder on blood sugar levels. The results of this study were the control group and the treatment group dose 1 (Sig. (2-tailed) = 0.000, α = 0.05). Meanwhile, the comparison results showed that there was a difference between the control group and the treatment group at dose 1, Based on the above research, Yakon tubers can be used to reduce blood sugar levels.

The using of plant-based medicine is a popular approach to health care. A study presented by American Hearth Association showing that brown rice can lower cholesterol level in bood serum. To know the benefi ts of Angkak’s steeping water to decrease serum cholesterol levels in mice and determine the effects of Angkak’s steeping water to decrease serum cholesterol levels in rats compared with simvastatin. This study used an experimental research design, and using pre and post test control group design, performed in the laboratory of biomedical III FK UMS on November 1, 2012 to date of January 1, 2013. The purposive sampling technique, sampel determinaton using formula Federer by the number of sample of 30 male white rats wistar strain. After the data is collected, analyzed using the Shapiro-Wilk test, ANOVA, LSD, and the unpaired t test. The result of this study demnstrate hypothesis testing using ANOVA test with signifi cant level 95% of the negative control group, the treatment group a dose of 1, 2, and 3, it was found p<0,05 were signifi cantly different meaning. In the test dose of LSD between treatment groups 2 and 3 the value of p=0,839 (p>0,05) wich means no signifi cant difference. In the unpaired T test between the treatment group a dose of 1, 2, and 3 with positive control group were signifi cant difference. The unpaired T test between the treatment group a dose of 1, 2, and 3 with white rice also found signifi cant difference. Conclusion: Angkak’s steeping water can lower serum cholesterol levels of white rat as well as the water steepimg Angkak has the same effectiveness with simvastatin to decrease serum cholesterol levels of mice.Keyword: Cholesterol, Angkak

ABSTRACT Background: An increase in blood sugar levels caused diabetes mellitus, and various other health complications. One of the herbal therapy approaches can be used by consuming mahogany seeds which are believed to reduce blood glucose levels. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of consuming mahogany seeds to reduce blood sugar levels. Subjects and Method: This was a quasi-experiment with non-randomized control group pretest-posttest design conducted on March 24-26 2020. A sample of 22 respondents was divided into 2 groups: treatment group and control group selected by purposive sampling. The data was collected by observation. The data was analysed by Paired t-test. Results: The treatment group before consuming the dry extract of Mahogany seeds (Mean= 258.27; SD= 46.98), and after consuming the dry extract of Mahogany seeds (Mean= 185.36; SD= 38.85). In the control group, before consuming the extract of Mahogany seed ekring (Mean= 224.27; SD= 14.73), and after consuming Mahogany seed extract (Mean= 213.27; SD= 6.75). It was statistically significant (p= 0.001). Conclusion: Consumption of dry extract of Mahogany seeds effectively reduces blood sugar levels in patients with Diabetes Mellitus. AbstractBackground : Diabetes mellitus is the most common metabolic syndrome in the whole world with an incidence of 1-8%. This disease arises when insufficient insulin is produced or insulin cannot function properly.The ability of coriander juice water extract is expected to reduce blood glucose levels because the action is similar to insulin and can stimulate insulin release. Purpose : Knowing effectiveness coriander extract (Coriandrum sativum L.)to decline blood sugar levels in male white rats (Rattus norvegicus L.) wistar strain induced by alloxan. Method : This is a pure experimental study (true-experiment) using a pre and post test design with control group design using subjects namely white rats (Rattus norvegicus L.) male Wistar strain aged 10-12 weeks with a weight of 150-200 grams. By looking at changes in blood sugar levels during administration of alloxan and administration of coriander extract. Results : There were significant changes in some groups induced alloxan (p <0.05), but the effect of coriander extract was not very significant (p> 0.05). Conclusion : Coriander extract can control blood sugar levels to be stable or normal, but it takes longer and more research.  Keywords : coriander extract, blood sugar levels, alloxan

Diabetes mellitus is a disease or metabolic disorder that is most often found in society, including one of the diseases or metabolic disorders. Tamarind leaves (Tamarindus indica L) is a plant that can be used as an alternative treatment for Diabetes Mellitus which contains flavonoids, sapoin and tannins, which can lower glucose levels and inhibit glucose absorption in the blood. This study aims to determine the differences in blood sugar levels before and after giving tamarind leaves infusion in the village community of Tanjung Bumi. This type of research is Quasy Experiment Design and purposive sampling technique with a sample of 29 respondents. Based on the results of the paired t-test statistical analysis showed a significant difference (p = 0.000) between the blood sugar levels of the group and placebo. Meanwhile, in the posttest the treatment group after giving tamarind leaves showed the same as the control group, namely p = 0.000, which means that there is also a difference in the decrease in blood sugar levels between the sebelum pemberian perlakuan and posttest. The results of statistical tests with the Independent T-Test showed the results in both groups with a value of p = 0.000, meaning that there was a difference in the decrease in blood sugar levels between the control group and the treatment group. Steeping tamarind leaves has an effect in reducing blood sugar levels in the body

Pre Print :Cleome Gynandra L. (called as “Maman” in Riau) is a traditional medicine used for diabetes, anti-aging, anti-cancer and cardiovascular diseases prevention. This study was carried out to determine the activities of Fermented Maman on blood sugar levels in hyperglycemic male white rats. The research was an experimental research, using the Post Test Only Control Group Design, that carried out 5 months at Riau Ministry of Health Poltekkes Laboratory. The data analysis using Multivariate ANOVA and continued with Duncan multiple range test.The results of the study indicate that Fermented Maman can reduce blood sugar levels but, the metformin group had a higher reduction compared to the control group negative, positive and Fermented Maman. Metformin reduces blood sugar levels better than Fermented Maman. It is necessary to add the time of Fermented Maman and research used metformin with simultaneous fermentation in groups of male white rats with dosage variations.

Effort to reduce depression and blood sugar levels through psycho religious of dzikir and shalawat was not carried out much yet. Research aims to explain psycho religious therapy effects towards depression and blood sugar level in Diabetes Mellitus type 2 patients (DM Type 2). This research used experimental method with randomized pre test post test control group design. This research was carried out on DM type 2 patients in Surabaya and they had been selected into two groups, given psycho religious group and control group. The purpose of this study is to prove the differential effect of administering the mangosteen Rind extract due to lowering the blood sugar levels of Winstar white male rats induced by streptozotosin (STZ). This study used a randomized design of the ramdomized posttest only control group design. The sample consisted of 4 groups with a sample size of 7 animals each group of rats. All samples were prepared STZ induction of diabetes with a single dose of 50 mg/Kg BW through intraperitoneal (IP). K0 (control group; given 1% CMC 1 cc/day), K1 (treatment group 1; given 0,054 mg glimepiride/200 grBW, K2 (treatment group 2; given mangosteen Rind extract 50 mg/Kg BW), K3 (treatment group 3; given the mangosteen Rind extract 100 mg/Kg BW). Timing of therapy in each group was for 7 days. Shapiro-Wilk normality test (a=0.05) in the BW D variable data, pre-post STZ GDP and D GDP. Testing homogeneity used Levene's test. When data distribution was normal and homogenous, it used an ANOVA deferential test. When data distribution was normal and inhomogeneous, it proceed to apply T-test with 2 free samples. The results: 1) There were significant differences between K0 D GDP with K1 (p=0.015), K0 to K2 (p=0.003) and group K0 to K3 (p=0.002), 2) Whereas no difference was shown in the K1 with K2 (p=0.442), K1 to K3 (p=0,401) and K2 to K3 (p=0.878). Conclusion: The administration of mangosteen Rind extract doses of 50 and 100 mg/kg bw/day did not differ in lowering blood sugar levels compared with glimepiride administration of a dose of 0.054 mg/200 grBW rat/day. Mangosteen Rind extract dose of 100 mg/kg bw/day and 50 mg/kg bw/day did not provide a significant difference in lowering blood sugar levels.

Maintaining a lifestyle can reduce the incidence of DM (diabetes mellitus). DM occurs due to insulin disorders so that blood glucose levels increase, which can lead to various complications. The management of blood glucose levels by activating the insulin function can be done by using natural ingredients such as the Yakon (Smallanthus sonchifolius) plant. Yakon leaves contain phenol which can reduce blood glucose. The design of this study was experimental with a pre-posttest approach with control-group design, using male and healthy white rats (Rattus norvegicus). Rats were divided into 3 groups, treatment dose 1, treatment dose 2 and control. The rats were given a high carbohydrate diet during 9 weeks to make the rats hyperglycemic. In the treatment group, dose 1 was 150 mg/kg BW, dose 2 was 300 mg kg BW, and was given for 3 days. The results showed that the rats in the treatment group dose 1 had decreased in the average blood sugar level of 114.10 mg / dl (p 0.002) and dose 2 was 105.27 mg / dl (p 0.005). This showed that there was an effect of treatments on blood sugar levels. The comparison results showed that there was a significant difference between the dose 1, the dose 2 group and the control (Sig. (2-tailed) = 0.001 (α) = 0.05). There was no significant difference in the treatment group dose 1 and treatment dose 2 (Sig. (2-tailed) = 0.693, (α) = 0.05). Yakon leaves can be used alternative to lower to control blood glucose levels in rats receiving a high-carbohydrate diet

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pelatihan three corner drill terhadap kelincahan dan power otot tungkai. Jenis penelitian adalah quasi experimental dengan rancangan the non-randomized pretest-posttest control group design. Subjek penelitian yang digunakan siswa putra peserta ektrakurikuler sepak bola SMPN 2 Pekutatan. Data post-test kelincahan dan power otot tungkai pada kelompok perlakuan dan kelompok kontrol dianalisis dengan uji-t independent pada taraf signifikansi (α) 0,05 dengan bantuan program SPSS 16.0. Berdasarkan hasil uji-t independent didapatkan hasil : (1) untuk variabel kelincahan, hasil perbandingan kelompok perlakuan dan kontrol didapatkan nilai thitung = -2,948 , dengan nilai signifikansi 0,009, (2) untuk variabel power, hasil perbandingan kelompok perlakuan dan kontrol didapatkan nilai thitung = 3,176, dengan nilai signifikansi 0,005. Nilai signifikansi hitung lebih kecil dari nilai α (Sig < 0,05), dengan demikian hipotesis penelitian “pelatihan three corner drill berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan kelincahan dan power otot tungkai pada siswa putra peserta ektrakurikuler sepak bola SMPN 2 Pekutatan” diterima. Dari hasil analisis data dan pembahasan disimpulkan bahwa : (1) Pelatihan three corner drill berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan kelincahan pada siswa putra peserta ektrakurikuler sepak bola SMP Negeri 2 Pekutatan (2) Pelatihan three corner drill berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan power otot tungkai pada siswa putra peserta ektrakurikuler sepak bola SMP Negeri 2 Pekutatan. Kata Kunci : kelincahan, daya ledak, three corner drill The purpose of this research was to find out the effect of three corner drill training toward the increased agility and power muscle of legs. The type of research was a quasi-experimental and the design of research was the non-randomized pretest-posttest control group design. The subjects were man’s student football extracurricular participants of SMPN 2 Pekutatan. Agility and muscle power of legs posttest to the treatment group and the control group were analyzed by independent t-test at significance 0,05 with SPSS 16.0. Based on independent t-test results were showed : (1) to the agility variable, the comparison of the treatment and the control group values obtained t = -2,948, with a significance value of 0,009, (2) to muscle power of legs variable, the comparison of the treatment and the control group values obtained t = 3,176, with a significance value of 0,005. Calculated significance value smaller than the value of 0,05 (Sig < 0.05), thus the research hypothesis "three corner drill training affect the increased agility and muscle power of legs in football extracurricular participants of SMPN 2 Pekutatan " was received. From the analyzed and discussion were concluded that : (1) three corner drill training effect the increased agility in football extracurricular participants of SMPN 2 Pekutatan, (2) three corner drill training effect the increased muscle power of legs in football extracurricular participants of SMPN 2 Pekutatan. keyword : Agility, power, three corner drill
