This study aims to investigate students’ perceptions of English Day Program in speaking skill development. To achieve the objective, a questionnaire and interview were administered to collect the perception of 35 eight graders of SMPK Penabur Kota Wisata, Bogor. The quantitative data collected by the questionnaire and the qualitative data obtained from the interview were analyzed employing the descriptive analysis technique. The results showed that students' motivation to master English speaking was very high, and they expected the English Day Program would help them develop English speaking. However, only slightly more a half of them were enthusiastic to join English Day Program due to its previous poor implementation.

The purpose of this study is to investigate how the use of google meet can improve the speaking ability of students of iain Intensive English 1 program Syekh Nurjati Cirebon. This particular research is categorized as action research. These actions are performed in three cycles based on the class schedule. The study involved 35 students. This research data is qualitative and quantitative data. Qualitative data is obtained by observing the teaching and learning process in speaking classes. Meanwhile, quantitative data is obtained through tests, and questionnaires. The findings suggest that the use of Google Meet terbukti meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara mahasiswa. Therefore google meet is very suitable to be used as online or virtual learning especially in improving students' speaking skills that focus on aspects and components of student speaking skills, but there are some drawbacks that can make learning less effective and less efficient when used as a particular application in the learning and teaching process. Therefore, all educators who use application media such as google meet are able to master and professional in using the application. Hopefully this pandemic ends quickly and we can adjust how the future of education around the world goes forward.  For the next researcher, can be focused on the influence of the implementation of google meet application in speaking subjects to the interest of students to improve speaking. Based on this study, researchers found students' enthusiasm is very high in learning to speak, this proves that the google meet application can improve aspects and components of student speaking because it is influenced by increased student motivation during the use of google meet application compared to other applications.

This study aims to 1 find out the process of designing the development of teaching materials on writing free poetry of class 13 students of SMP Xaverius Tugumulyo, 2 to describe the teaching material of free class 13 class 13Tugumulyo SMP poetry, valid and effective. The method used Research and Development research and used model Dick and Carey. Interview data were analyzed using qualitative data analysis technique. The questionnaire value is used to determine the quantitative data. The design feasibility conclusion is included in the good kategoti, with the percentage of 80 percent. Results from validation of content or material feasibility are included in either category, with percentage of 80 percent. Last validation of language with good category, with percentage 74,28 percent. The validation results of the overall team of experts are categorized well, with the percentage of 78.33 percent. Practicality of teaching materials can be seen seen from the calculation of the validity of the instrument with the results of 0.98, with the category of validity is very high. The effectiveness of instructional materials and significant relationships can be seen from the calculations using SPSS 20, with a result of 0.0001. The conclusion of the research and development of teaching materials writing free poems that researchers have developed has been an alternative use in the process of teaching and learning. Speaking Ability was the important aspect in communication. The aim of the study was to investigate the improving speaking ability through storytelling in teaching speaking at eight grade of SMAN 1 Lambitu. This research used classroom action research. The subjects in this research were the students at the eleventh grade of SMAN 1 Lambitu. The sample were 16 students in one class. The researcher used the technique of storytelling through recount text to improve speaking skill. Quantitative data analysis technique used this research through average score and percentage of students’ test, while qualitative data analysis was taken from analysis of observation during the classroom. The result of this study was in cycle I was at fair category (60-70) which average score was 67,4. It indicated the students’ ability in storytelling was not active (<50%)., which the critical success 31,5%. While in cycle II, the result of students’ score was 75,3, which means that the students were good category (60-79). The result was indicated that the students habits in storytelling technique in cycle II was active (<80%). Moreover the result of observation were student enjoy the lesson and follow the teaching and learning process smoothly and regularly. So, the conclusion that story telling technique was improving students’ speaking ability at Eleventh Grade of SMA 1 Lambitu.

This research reveals the application of picture and picture learning model by determining the subject matter which become the focus of the study, namely the activity on students' speaking skill. Thus, the purpose of this study to determine the ability of students 'speaking skills in the learning process using the media images in class III MI Al-Mawasir Padang Kalua'. The implementation of research using quantitative and qualitative approach. The type of research used is classroom action research (PTK) designed through three cycles. Each cycle lasts for two meetings. Subjects in this study were third grade students MI Al-Mawasir Padang Kalua, which amounted to 18 students consisting of 10 men and 8 women. Data collection techniques conducted in this study, namely interviews, tests, and observations. This research uses qualitative and quantitative data analysis techniques. Qualitative data was analyzed by qualitative descriptive analysis technique, ie categorization, data presentation, and data reduction, while quantitative data was analyzed by using percentage formula. The results of this study indicate that the average value of activity in students' speaking skills increases in each cycle. In the first cycle with a mean score of 68.05, it increases in cycle II with the average value of 71.52, and increasing again in cycle III with the average value of 84.72. Thus, it can be seen that the use of modelpicture and picture can effectively improve the students' speaking skills in the class IIIMI Al-Mawasir Padang Kalua.

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh fenomena minat baca siswa dan pengaruh minat baca terhadap pertumbuhan kemampuan belajar siswa pada jenjang-jenjang pendidikan selanjutnya. Kepala sekolah sebagai lokomotif perkembangan mutu pendidikan memiliki peran strategi bagi pengumbuhan dan pengembangan minat baca peserta didik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran kepala madrasah sebagai edukator, manajer, dan innovator dalam pengembangan minat baca peserta didik di MIT Nurul Islam Kota Semarang. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif lapangan, data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi dan triangulasi, serta dianalisis dengan teknik analisis deskriptif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: 1) Peran kepala madrasah sebagai edukator dalam pengembangan minat baca peserta didik meliputi meliputi tiga pembinaan, yakni pembinaan mental dan moral, serta pembinaan artistik. 2) Peran kepala madrasah sebagai manajer dalam pengembangan minat baca peserta didik di MIT Nurul Islam meliputi penerapan fungsi-fungsi manajemen dengan didasarkan pada pada kerjasama dengan USAID dan UIN Walisongo Semarang. 3) Peran kepala madrasah sebagai innovator dalam pengembangan minat baca peserta didik di MIT Nurul Islam Kota Semarang meliputi inovasi strategi, pola pikir (mindset) dan struktur. Abstract This research is motivated by the phenomenon of reading interest of students and the influence of reading interest on the growth of students' learning ability in the next level of education. The principal as a locomotive of the development of the quality of education has a strategic role for the growth and development of reading interest of learners. This study aims to determine the role of principal as an educator, manager, and innovator in the development of reading interest of learners in MIT Nurul Islam Semarang City. This research is a qualitative field research, data collected through observation, interview, documentation and triangulation, and analyzed by descriptive analysis technique. The results of this study indicate that: 1) The role of principal as an educator in the development of reading interest of learners includes three activities are coaching, namely mental and moral coaching, and artistic coaching. 2) The role of principal as manager in the development of reading interest of learners at MIT Nurul Islam covers the application of management functions based on cooperation with USAID and UIN Walisongo Semarang. 3) The role of principal as innovator in the development of reading interest of learners at MIT Nurul Islam Semarang City includes innovation strategy, mindset, and structure.

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengembangkan media pembelajaran interaktif berbasis android untuk memudahkan pemahaman konsep trigonometri. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan dengan pendekatan kualitatif yang didukung data kuantitatif. Model Pengembangan yang digunakan yaitu ADDIE. Karya inovasi ini dibuat dengan macromediaflash 8. Subjek dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari 8 siswa pada ujicoba kelompok kecil dan 30 siswa pada ujicoba kelompok besar. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu angket dan wawancara. Teknik analisis data kualitatif dengan menggunakan model Miles Huberman.Hasilpengembangan diperoleh sebuah media pembelajaran yang dapat membantu siswa untuk mempermudah mengingat rumus trigonometri. The purpose of this research is to develop interactive android based learning media to facilitate understanding of trigonometric concepts. This research is a development research with qualitative approach supported by quantitative data. Development model used is ADDIE. The innovation work was made with Macromedia Flash 8. The subjects in this study consisted of 8 students on a small group trial and 30 students on a large group trial. Data collection techniques used questionnaires and interviews. Qualitative data analysis technique using Miles Huberman model. The results of the development obtained a learning media that can help students to simplify remembering the trigonometric formula. The purpose of this research was to determine the effectiveness of the instruction process using the flipped classroom (FC) model within the scope of Computer Networks and Communication course. Theoretically, the community of inquiry model was taken as a reference and the effectiveness of the instruction process was evaluated accordingly. Students were preservice teachers studying Computer Education and Information Technology in the third grade in the Van region in Turkey. There were a total of 19 students, of which 12 are male and seven are female. FC process was carried out in the spring semester of 2018–2019 and lasted 11 weeks in total. A mixed-method design was used to gathering the data. Therefore, the research design was an explanatory design from mixed-methods designs. The quantitative data collection tool was the Turkish version of the Community of Inquiry Survey. The quantitative data were analyzed by dividing the students into very low, low, high, and very high levels. The qualitative data collection tool was the interview form created concerning the community of inquiry model. The qualitative data were analyzed by the use of the community of inquiry coding template's themes. At the end of the instruction process, students had a very high level of cognitive, social, and teaching presence perception. This situation was detailed and supported with the qualitative data obtained. Concerning the cognitive presence, the students firstly talked about that they started the learning process with videos. Regarding the social presence, they mentioned the motivating effect of the questions. About the teaching presence, participants firstly mentioned the direct instruction role of the videos.

Think-Pair-Share technique is one of the cooperative learning strategies that promote student involvement in the classroom. This strategy makes students engaged in in-class activities such as discussions and provides opportunities to share their ideas with others. The purpose of this study was to describe the implementation of the Think-Pair-Share strategy in teaching speaking skill for secondary students. A qualitative method with a descriptive analysis was undertaken in this study. The sample was twenty students of eighth grade. The data was collected through interviews, observation, and document analysis. The data analysis technique used was presented in a descriptive form. The results indicated the implementation of the Think-Pair-Share technique during the learning process took place following the stages that have been stated in the learning process plan made by the teacher. Appreciation for the implementation of the Think-Pair-Share technique both from students is quite good. Students stated that they can overcome the constraints in the learning process of speaking activity through Think-Pair-Share.

The community role is needed in the implementation of mangrove forest tourism management, especially in planning activities. The role of the community is the involvement of community itself in the development activities, both in the planning, implementation, evaluation, and the stages of esnjoying the results of the development itself. The purpose in this descriptive qualitative study was to determine the role of community in managing mangrove forest tourism in the subdistrict of Sukadana of Kayong Utara regency. Data collection techniques consist of observation, interviews, and documentation. While the analysis was carried out with descriptive analysis technique. The results of this study indicate that the role of of the sejahtera village community in managing mangrove forest tourism is limited to the maintenance of natural resources, maintenance of cleanliness and nursery of mangrove forests. Due to mangrove forest management is still fully managed by The Gunung Palung National Park Agency, the role of the community in the management of tourism in mangrove forests is still low. Therefore, the involvement of the surrounding community needs special attention and other related parties in utilizing mangrove forest tourism.Keyword: community role, mangrove forest, themanagement of mangrove tourism

This research aims to know speaking teaching methods used at Kampung Inggris Pontianak for elementary school students and tutor obstacles during teaching activity. The method applied in this research was qualitative approach with descriptive analysis. The data were collected from interview and observation with the owner of Kampung Inggris Pontianak, West Kalimantan. It was found that English speaking skill to elementary school students was separated into four levels; basic, intermediate 1, intermediate 2, and advanced. There are five methods applied by Kampung Inggris Pontianak to improve students English speaking skill. Flashcards, watching movies, listening, games, and singing. There were two kinds of obstacles that tutors face during the class. First, most of the tutors’ backgrounds were non-educational. So, they found it hard, sometimes, to control their elementary students who are very energetic. They might have English language competence. However, it is not adequate as their only competence to teach students compared to tutors with English educational background. Therefore, Kampung Inggris Pontianak holds micro-teaching practices to see tutor candidate performances before coming into class. Second, new students made many false answers on the placement test just to make them get into a lower level class than they are supposed to be. The researcher hopes this research will give knowledge to the reader of how tutors in Kampung Inggris Pontianak teaches speaking skills to their students.
