Chili, one of the most cultivated plants in the world, from the genus Capsicum sp., has great importance both in human nutrition and in the pharmaceutical industry. This study provides detailed information on the impact of chili crop fertilization on the production and accumulation of capsaicin and dihydrocapsaicin. During the vegetation period, 235 kg∙ha−1 NPK (chemical—Ch), 270 kg∙ha−1 NPK (organic—O) and 250 kg∙ha−1 NPK (mixed—Ch + O) fertilizers were applied on six varieties of chili pepper (De Cayenne, Traian 2, Turkish, Sigaretta di Bergamo, Jovial and Chorbadjiiski); all versions were compared with the control (Ct). The determination of capsaicinoid compounds from chili pepper samples was done using high-performance liquid chromatography, HPLC-UV/VIS. The chili pepper plants reacted differently according to the fertilizers used, both in terms of the production and accumulation of capsaicinoids. The highest production was obtained for the case of mixed treatments in all cultivars, with the highest production being found for Sigaretta di Bergamo (40.61 t∙ha−1). The capsaicin and dihydrocapsaicin content was influenced by both the type of fertilizer used and the variety of chili pepper. The accumulation of capsaicinoids in the chili fruits was found to be dependent on cultivar and fertilization management; higher amounts of capsaicinoids were found to accumulate in the fruits of the Chorbadjiiski variety treated with chemicals (0.83 mg∙g−1 capsaicin and 0.53 mg∙g−1 dihydrocapsaicin) compared with the amounts found for untreated De Cayenne (0.52 mg∙g−1 capsaicin and 0.33 mg∙g−1 dihydrocapsaicin).

Chilli is widely used throughout the world and, in Côte d'Ivoire in particular, for his nutritional and medicinal properties. Indeed, peppers are good sources of vitamins, polyphenols, minerals and volatile compounds. This work allowed to determine the volatile compounds of a pepper cultivar (Capsicum annuum) grown in eastern Côte d'Ivoire. The analysis of the volatile compounds was made by gas chromatography coupled to the mass spectrophotometer (GC-MS). The results showed that the fresh fruits of the grown pepper cultivar contained a total of 37 compounds. Majority compounds identified in green fruits are thymol (24.60%), d-limonene (21.80%) and hexyl isovalerate (09.90%) while those identified in fresh red fruits are thymol (45.90%), hexyl isovalerate (14.90%) and linalool (05.50%). The identified compounds belong to different families of compounds: terpenes (monoterpenes and sesquiterpenes), alcohols, aldehydes, fatty acids, esters, ketones and hydrocarbons. The fresh red fruits are rich in thymol and green fruits in D-limonene. This study shows that this chili cultivar has very interesting properties that can contribute to human health. As a result, this pepper could be a good pharmacological source.

The Coronavirus Covid 19 (SARS-CoV-2) pandemic has produced terrible effects in the world economy and is shaking social and political stability around the world. The world of sport has obviously been severely affected by the pandemic, as authorities progressively canceled all level of competitions, including the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. In Spain, the initial government-lockdown closed the Sports High-performance Centers, and many other sports facilities. In order to support athlete's health and performance at crises like these, an online questionnaire named RECOVID-19, was designed to assess how athletes were living their lives during such periods of home confinement. The main purpose of the questionnaire was to assess the impact of prolongued confinement on athlete's psychological, emotional, and behavioral performance. One thousand, two hundred forty-eight athletes participated in the survey. They had the fllowing characteristics: (Mean age = 22.31 ± 11.49, Female: 53%), who compete at National (N: 1017, Mean age = 21.58 ± 11.42, Female: 52%) and International level (N: 231, Mean age = 25.56 ± 11.22, Female: 57%). Results showed that during the confinement period, those athletes who lacked motivation reported a higher level of stressful thoughts, more behavioral problems, and greater emotional upheaval (anger, fatigue, tension, and depression). However, those athletes who accepted confinement measures as necessary, and were in favor of respecting the rules of social isolation, fostered positive emotional states such as feelings of friendship. In addition, the availability of some sport equipment together with the ability to continue some training, were (1) protective factors against emotional stress, lack of motivation and behavioral problems; and (2) they were associated with greater respect for, and adherence to, confinement rules. Gender differences, tested by multigroup analysis, revealed that coping activities were more often associated to negative emotional states among women, whereas the ongoing availability of training information and future conditions were equally protective factors for both genders. This study also showed that receiving coaching, support and completing frequent training routines seem to be valuable tools to prevent or reduce some of the harmful effects of isolation on athlete's emotional well-being. The conclusions derived from this research would possibly help sport authorities to design supporting policies and plans to support athletes and trainers in future disruptive health crises.

Introduction. Over the past few years, fungicidal formulations based on fluxapyroxad, penthiopyrad, isopyrazam and sedaxan have been proposed in the world market. Such pesticides meet modern requirements and are recommended in the world to protect more than 30 major crops. Given the wide range of crops for which these preparations are offered, as well as the anti-drug strategy for the pesticides application, which involves the use of substances with a new mechanism of action and the introduction of combined formulations based on two or more active substances, it is possible to actively use pyrazolecarboxamides in one region, that is why there is a possibility of their simultaneous arrival in environmental objects. The aim ofthe study– to develop a methodology for the analytical determination of fluxapyroxad, penthiopyrad, isopyrazam and sedaxanin their joint presence in water.Materials and Methods. Chromatographic analysis was performed on liquid chromatographs LC-10ADvp and LC-20AD from Shimadzu (Japan) with ultraviolet detection. Results and Discussion. It was found that the C18 column is more promising for solving the problem of pyrazolecarboxamidesseparation under study. The gradient regime in the eluent system was recognized as optimal: A (acetonitrile), B (methanol) and C (bidistilled water). The retention time (min) is: for fluxapyroxad– 6.8±0.1; trans-sedaxan– 7.4±0.1; cis-sedaxane– 8.2±0.1; penthiopyrad– 9.3±0.1 and isopyrazam– 11.0 ± 0.1.Conclusions. The conditions for the simultaneous determination of fluxapyroxad, penthiopyrad, isopyrazam and sedaxanby the high-performance liquid chromatography method with their simultaneous presence in water sample wasdeveloped. It makes it possible to significantly accelerate the analysis and reduce the costs of conducting it.

The world agriculture uses about 70% of the world water resources in irrigation. The concern over the sustainability of water use as demand for agricultural, industrial, and domestic uses continues to increase. Conflicts between particular sectors result in tensions, which sometimes lead to “water wars” in different parts of the world. It is the reason why many national and international organizations are putting the water quantity and quality questions on the top of the world’s open questions/problems. The main aim of this paper is to present soil water balance of the Mediterranean region of Bosnia and Herzegovina, prepared for a long-term time series for two locations (Trebinje and Mostar) annually and during the vegetation period. The mean long-term data has been used as a base for future predicted calculation. The predicted PET was based on an increase in air temperature by 2°C and predicted decrease in precipitation by 25%. With so predicted calculated data of monthly PET and monthly precipitation the predicted soil water balance was done.

Real estate management, including real estate market analysis, is part of a so-called geosystem. In recent years, the popularity of creating various types of systems and automatic solutions in real estate management, including those related to property classification and valuation, has been growing in the world, mainly to reduce the impact of human subjectivity, to increase the scope of analyses and reduce research time. A very important fact that should be underlined is that properties are strongly related to geolocation (space) and strongly determine it. Authors proposed in the paper solutions that highlight implementation of geoscience and “geo-approach” combined with fuzzy logic methods that allow to decrease subjectivity in property analyses and diminish uncertainty in decision making process. The proposed methodology involves three main problematic components of decision support system in property investment analyses development with the use of geo-technologies such as: determination of the database model; elaboration geo-property-zones with geoprocessing activities; identification of homogeneous group of properties transactions. The influence of spatial decision factor determined in the study lead to objective and precise calculation of value differentiation from 22 to 43% depending on the property’s remoteness to the sea.

Abstract The benefits of a diet, low in fermentable oligo-, di- and monosaccharides and polyols (FODMAP) for patients suffering from irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) has been well established. Thus, the exact knowledge of the amount and composition of FODMAPs in foods is of vital importance for these patients. This study investigated the possibilities of FODMAP reduction by adjusting the processing parameters, which are feasible in practise, while still producing marketable breads. Therefore, the impact of prolonged proofing and the addition of sourdough on the FODMAPs in the final products was evaluated. High performance anion exchange chromatography was used for qualitative and quantitative analysis. A prolonged proofing time resulted in reduction of the fructan content and in consequence of the total FODMAPs. In contrast, the addition of sourdough only altered the FODMAP composition, by reducing the fructan content but increasing the mannitol content. While all the breads produced from refined wheat flour meet the low-FODMAP criteria, the breads from rye and whole meal wheat flour have to be considered as high-FODMAP, regardless of the processing conditions investigated. Breads produced from rye flour exceeded the limits for fructans and mannitol, while whole meal wheat breads were found to exceed the threshold for excess fructose. Overall, the production of low-FODMAP rye breads was identified as the biggest challenge for future research, since it could not be achieved using conventional processing parameter.
