Objective: This study explores the characteristics and leadership style of kiai (boarding school leader and Islamic teacher) Manshur as a leader in the pondok pesantren (Islamic boarding school) that he fostered. Kiai Manshur’s leadership traits are also explored in this study in detail with in-depth analysis. Research Design & Methods: Several qualitative approaches were used to collect information about Kiai Manshur, including direct observation, questionnaires, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Technically, involve themselves and interact directly in the activities carried out by Kiai Manshur. The information is analyzed interactively, data reduction, data display, and drawing conclusions. Findings: The results of this study indicated that Kiai Manshur uses a special compilation in leading his pondok pesantren to form a distinctive leadership style. The style created the his leadership characteristics, including integrity, discipline, competence, trustworthiness, humanism, communication, and organizational. The leadership style of Kiai Manshur aims to produce anfa’linnas santri (good and helpful student). Implications & Recommendations: There is no perfect writing, but the limitations do not reduce the quality of the results study. Further research can discuss more about the anfa’linnas students, characteristics and effectiveness of application in the society. Contribution & Value Added: The results of this study provide a scientific contribution to leadership in organizations, especially in non-profit organizations such as Islamic boarding schools (traditional educational institutions) and the concept of anfa’ linnas student. Practically, the board of Islamic boarding schools and teachers can use these findings as material to develop the institution for the benefit of many people.

Islamic boarding school is one of the educational institutions of non-governmental non-profit religious organizations that prioritizes a service to external parties. The financial management of Islamic boarding schools still uses simple methods, accounting that has been used so far has not used financial reports that are in accordance with Islamic boarding school accounting guidelines. The purpose of this service is to provide additional knowledge to financial managers in compiling financial reports using software in order to provide transparent, accountable and accountable reporting. The method of implementing the activity is counseling, discussion and question and answer, which begins with providing knowledge about how to prepare Islamic boarding school accounting financial reports.

Islamic boarding school is the oldest educational institution by the nation that participated in creating literate society. In the midst of this globalization era, Islamic boarding schools maintain both classical and modern education and teaching systems. In educational institutions need to pay attention to the quality management of education in order to improve and develop educational institutions for the future. The reality that we get in guaranteeing the quality of education in Islamic boarding schools is that there are many obstacles that must be resolved. With this the author intends to examine several management systems or quality management based on Islamic boarding schools. This study used qualitative research methods. This research is specifically directed towards descriptive qualitative research design. Trying to solve the problem based on the data concerned with the concept of quality management based on Islamic boarding school. The concept that has been prepared in the management of education quality in Islamic boarding schools is oriented to improving the quality of education by referring to the values ​​of Islamic boarding schools / Islamic society that have been entrenched among Indonesian people, by using tools, techniques and philosophies to create quality education in order to achieve educational goals.

This research is framed by a large topic of leadership. More specifically this research is directed to analyze the tendency of leadership style in Islamic educational institutions. The subject is Putri Al Mawaddah Islamic Boarding School 2, Jiwut Village, Nglegok District, Blitar Regency, East Java. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach. The focus of this research is about: 1) the tendency of leadership style, and 2) several aspects that contribute positively to the practice of leadership style. The research data was collected through interview, observation, documentation, and questionnaire techniques. While the analysis of the data follows the direction of Miles and Huberman which includes steps: 1) Data reduction, 2) Data display and 3) Conclusions. The results of this study concluded that: 1) The tendency of the leadership style at Putri Al Mawaddah Islamic Boarding School 2, Jiwut, Nglegok, Blitar Regency. the most dominant is democratic leadership; and 2) Some aspects that contribute to the practice of leadership style at the Putri Al Mawaddah Islamic Boarding School 2, Jiwut, Nglegok, Blitar Regency include: a) hereditary aspects; b) geographical; c) economy; d) aspects of the target vision and mission; and e) characteristics and advantages of boarding schools.

Abstract Pesantren or as usually assosiated to an Islamic boarding school is one kind of typical Indonesian Islamic education established by the community. In the process, most of the islamic boarding school seeks to respond to the demands of the times by modernizing its institution by establishing formal educational institutions ranging from pre-schools to higher education level. Besides, several islamic boarding schools try to remain its original characteristics as islamic educational institutions that focuses on tafaqquh fi al-din (religion deepening), which teaches the students how to understand the content of yellow book. Islamic boarding schools that seeks to combine the two dimension, while maintaining its identity as an educational institution that tafaqquh fi al-din but on the other hand also adopted the formal education system, especially higher education is then popularly known as integrated boarding school. This study was interesting to get further investigation in order to analyze and find the concepts and models of management of integrated educational between islamic boarding school and college and the implications for improving the quality of its graduates. This study used a qualitative approach with multisite study as its research design. Finally, the study concluded that the concept of integrated education initiated by Ma'had Dalwa Bangil and Pondok Ngalah Purwosari consist of two different concepts, namely "the concept of systemic integration" that defined as an idea that want to integrate all components of the education system in both institutions, by integrated the educators, learners, curriculum, and the building or other facilities. The second concept is "organic integration”, it is about the idea that want to integrate the spiritualistic value inside the pesantren education and the values of college intellectuals. The concept of integrated education both systemic and organic has been implemented in two models: "structural model" and "cultural model". Structural model is a model that try to synthesizes boarding institution's organizational structure, while the cultural model is done by creating a culture in the two institutions that show balanced condition between spirituality and intellectuality. The two models have improved the quality of graduates at both institutions. Keywords: Integrated Education, Pesantren, Campus, Improving The Quality of Graduates   ملخص الباسانترين أو المعاهد الإسلامية هي نوع من التعليم الإسلامي الإندونيسي الذي أنشأها المجتمع. في العملية ، تحاول معظم المعاهد الإسلامية الاستجابة لمطالب العصر بتحديث مؤسساتها من خلال إنشاء مؤسسات تعليمية رسمية تتراوح ما بين مرحلة ما قبل المدرسة PAUD إلى التعليم العالي. بالإضافة إلى ذلك ، تحاول بعض المعاهد الإسلامية الاحتفاظ بخصائصها الأصلية كمؤسسات تعليمية إسلامية تركز على التفقه فى الدين أو تعميق الدين ، والذي يعلم الطلاب كيفية فهم محتويات الكتب الصفراء. المهاهد الإسلامية التي تحاول الجمع بين البعدين ، مع الحفظ على هويتها كمؤسسات تعليمية هي "التفقه فى الدين" ولكن من ناحية أخرى تتبنى نظام التعليم الرسمي ، وخاصة التعليم العالي الذي عرف فيما بعد بمعاهد إسلامية متكاملة. هذا البحث للاهتمام على حصول من التحقيقات لتحليل وإيجاد مفاهيم ونماذج لإدارة التعليم المتكامل بين المعاهد الإسلامية ومؤسسات التعليم العالي الإسلامية وانعكاساتها على تحسين جودة الخريجين. تستخدم هذه الدراسة نهجًا نوعيًا مع دراسات متعددة كتصميم بحثه. وأخيراً ، خلص البحث إلى أن مفهوم التعليم المتكامل الذي ابتكره معهد دالوى بانجيل ومعهد عالاه بورواساري يتكون من مفهومين مختلفين هما "مفهوم التكامل المنهجي" الذي يعرف بأنه الفكرة التي تريد دمج جميع مكونات التعليم. نظم في كلا المؤسستين ، من خلال دمج المعلمين والطلاب والمناهج الدراسية والمباني أو غيرها من المرافق. المفهوم الثاني هو "التكامل العضوي" ، والذي يدور حول الأفكار التي ترغب في دمج القيم الروحية في التعليم المعهدي والقيم الفكرية للتعليم العالي. تم تنفيذ مفهوم التعليم المنهجي والعضوي المتكامل في نموذجين: "النماذج الهيكلية" و "النماذج الثقافية". النموذج الهيكلي هو نموذج يحاول تجميع البنية التنظيمية للمؤسسات المعهدية ، بينما يتم تنفيذ نموذج ثقافي من خلال خلق ثقافة في مؤسستين تظهر حالة متوازنة بين الروحانية والمثقفين. وقد أحسن كلا النموذجين جودة الخريجين في كلا المؤسستين. مفتاح الكلمات: التعليم المتكاملى ، المعهد الإسلامي ، الجامعة ، تحسين جودة الخريجين Abstract Pesantren atau yang biasa diasosiasikan dengan pondok pesantren adalah salah satu jenis pendidikan Islam khas Indonesia yang didirikan oleh masyarakat. Dalam prosesnya, sebagian besar pondok pesantren berupaya merespons tuntutan zaman dengan memodernisasi lembaganya dengan mendirikan lembaga pendidikan formal mulai dari pra-sekolah hingga tingkat pendidikan tinggi. Selain itu, beberapa pondok pesantren mencoba untuk tetap karakteristik aslinya sebagai lembaga pendidikan Islam yang berfokus pada tafaqquh fi al-din (pendalaman agama), yang mengajarkan siswa bagaimana memahami isi buku kuning. Pesantren yang berupaya menggabungkan dua dimensi, sambil mempertahankan identitasnya sebagai lembaga pendidikan yang tafaqquh fi al-din tetapi di sisi lain juga mengadopsi sistem pendidikan formal, khususnya pendidikan tinggi yang kemudian dikenal dengan sebutan pondok pesantren terintegrasi. Penelitian ini menarik untuk mendapatkan investigasi lebih lanjut untuk menganalisis dan menemukan konsep dan model manajemen pendidikan terintegrasi antara pondok pesantren dan perguruan tinggi Islam serta implikasinya untuk meningkatkan kualitas lulusannya. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan studi multisite sebagai desain penelitiannya. Akhirnya, penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa konsep pendidikan terintegrasi yang diprakarsai oleh Ma'had Dalwa Bangil dan Pondok Ngalah Purwosari terdiri dari dua konsep yang berbeda, yaitu "konsep integrasi sistemik" yang didefinisikan sebagai gagasan yang ingin mengintegrasikan semua komponen pendidikan. sistem di kedua lembaga, dengan mengintegrasikan para pendidik, peserta didik, kurikulum, dan bangunan atau fasilitas lainnya. Konsep kedua adalah "integrasi organik", yaitu tentang gagasan yang ingin mengintegrasikan nilai spiritual dalam pendidikan pesantren dan nilai-nilai intelektual perguruan tinggi. Konsep pendidikan terintegrasi baik sistemik dan organik telah diimplementasikan dalam dua model: "model struktural"dan" model budaya ". Model struktural adalah model yang mencoba mensintesis struktur organisasi lembaga asrama, sedangkan model budaya dilakukan dengan menciptakan budaya di dua lembaga yang menunjukkan kondisi yang seimbang antara spiritualitas dan intelektual. AbstrakPola Strategi pengembangan Pondok Pesantren di Malangke, strategi pengembangan pesantren adalah cara atau srategi yang digunakan oleh wadah atau tempat guna proses suatu perubahan berencana yang memerlukan dukungan semua pihak, anatara lain Kepala, staff, guru, dan siswa dengan perubahan-perubahan itu diharapkan dapat mengembangkan dan meningkatkan lembaga pendidikan, yang memerlukan usaha jangka pendek, menengah, dan panjang guna menghadapi perubahan yang akan terjadi pada masa mendatang. Peluang dan tangan pengembangan Pesantren di Luwu Utara,  terdapat Undang-undang Nomor 20 tahun 2003 tentang Sistem Pendidikan Nasional, yang beberapa pasalnya menekankan penyelenggaraan pendidikan keagamaan, seperti, pasal 30 ayat (1) dan Peraturan Pemerintah (PP) Nomor 55 Tahun 2007 tentang Pendidikan Agama dan Pendidikan Keagamaan pada pasal 1 ayat (2) tentang Pendidikan Agama dan Pendidikan Keagamaan yang didalamnya secara tegas dikemukakan bahwa pondok pesantren menyelenggarakan pendidikan diniyah pada tingkat dasar dan menengah, tergolong dalam sub sistem pendidikan Nasional di Indonesia yang bertujuan untuk mencerdaskan bangsa, menjadikan manusia yang beriman dan bertaqwa kepada Tuhan yang Maha Esa, berakhlak mulia, sehat, berilmu, cakap, kreatif, mandiri dan menajdi warga negara yang demokratis serta bertanggung jawab. Sedangkan tantangan ada beberapa hambatan 1)Sistem kurikulum yang lebih modern, sehingga pesantren ketinggalan jauh dari sekolah umum, 2) Kurangnya anggaran dan sumber pendanaan disebabkan oleh kurang siswa. 3) adanya sebagian orang tua tidak tertarik menyekolahkan anak di sekolah Pesantren.Kata kunci:      Pengembangan, Pondok Pesantren As’addiyah.  AbstractThe pattern of the development of Islamic boarding schools in Malangke, the strategy of developing pesantren is the method or strategy used by the place or place for the process of planning changes that require the support of all parties, among others, the Head, staff, teachers and students are expected to develop and improving educational institutions, which require short, medium and long-term efforts to deal with changes that will occur in the future. Opportunities and hands for the development of Islamic boarding schools in North Luwu, there is Law Number 20 of 2003 concerning the National Education System, some of which emphasize the implementation of religious education, such as article 30 paragraph (1) and Government Regulation (PP) Number 55 of 2007 concerning Education Religion and Religious Education in Article 1 paragraph (2) concerning Religious Education and Religious Education in which it is expressly stated that Islamic boarding schools conduct early childhood education at the elementary and secondary levels, belonging to the national education sub-system in Indonesia which aims to educate the nation, make humans who have faith and devotion to the Almighty God, are noble, healthy, knowledgeable, capable, creative, independent and become a democratic and responsible citizen. While the challenges are several obstacles 1) A more modern curriculum system, so that pesantren lag far behind public schools, 2) The lack of budgets and funding sources is caused by lack of students. 3) there are some parents who are not interested in sending their children to school in Islamic boarding schools.Keywords:        Development, As'addiyah Islamic Boarding School.

This study aims to provide an overview of the process of cultural change through total quality management in Islamic perspective carried out at Daar El Manshur Islamic Boarding School. The method of the study is qualitative method by using in-depth interview techniques with informants. This research was conducted at the Daar El Manshur Islamic Boarding School, Depok City, West Java. Data analysis was carried out using content analysis with the stages of reducing data, triangulating data, presenting data descriptively, and drawing conclusions/verification. The results showed that cultural change through total quality management at Daar El Manshur Islamic Boarding School was seen from 7 focuses. The focus of planning for Islamic boarding schools is still focused on current conditions. The focus of the organization is participatory by involving all individuals to improve the quality of education and to develop Islamic boarding schools. The focus of control is still in the form of monitoring and supervising each section based on the existing SOP. The focus of communication has been two-way communication. The focus of the decision is still reactive and not based on well planning even though decisions are made based on deliberation and consensus. The focus of functional management has not been fully integrated. The focus of quality management is still reactive because it is still in the stage of finding the best and most suitable method to be applied in Islamic boarding schools. Therefore, the process of cultural change at Daar El Manshur Islamic Boarding School has begun to occur.

One of the great traditions in Islamic education institutions in Indonesia is teaching by transmitting Islamic values as found in classical books written centuries ago. The majority in Indonesia, the classic book is better known as the Kitab Kuning. Teaching with the Kitab Kuning is usually done in Islamic Boarding Schools. Examining Kitab Kuning requires qualified Arabic language skills at least passively. Unfortunately, not all Islamic boarding schools that have a variety of superior programs in certain fields, are weak in the field of studying Kitab Kuning. One of them is the Islamic Boarding School Mu'allimin Muhammadiyyah Sawah Dangka which has the flagship Tahfizh Alquran program but is weak in the study of Kitab Kuning. One of the main factors is the lack of adequate quality of human resources. For this reason, this community service activity aims to provide training while introducing new, lightweight methods in learning Arabic, namely the Bihaqatil Jumal method. This method emphasizes learning Arabic using the right brain. After a series of community service activities, teachers and Islamic boarding schools felt helped and gained new experiences in learning Arabic methods to study Kitab Kuning. In addition, both the assisted object and the resource person requested that this kind of community service be continued.

Private Universities that were established by society through nonprofit institution have autonomy in managing their finances. Autonomy gives rise to the diversity of Private Universities’ financial statement. The government provides a tax exemption facility for the remnant of nonprofit institutions engaged in education with certain conditions, regulated by PMK 80/PMK.03/2009. This research was conducted to analyze the effect of the quality of the financial statements of Private Universities  on the execution of the tax exemption facility. Research was conducted by literature study method. The result of the research shows that the quality of the Private Universities’ financial statements  affect the execution of PMK 80/PMK.03/2009. Therefore, financial statements standardization and remnant recording regulation for Private Universities is needed, in order to optimizing the execution of the tax exemption facility given to educational institutions and to make sure the facility is given appropriately. The data collection technique used is literature study. This research use qualitative methods  in analyzing data and facts about private universities’ management and the taxation policies of non-profit organizations.

The development and sustainability of Islamic Boarding School are strongly influenced by the regeneration of the leadership of kiai as a successor of the vision and mission, depending upon their disciplines. Regeneration of the leadership of kiai often occurs on the basis of lineage to maintain and respond the developmental and institutional dynamics in the boarding school. The research is intended to analyze and discover the leadership patterns of kiai, the shifting patterns of the leadership, and the impact of the shift towards the development of the institutions. This study is phenomenological. The data collection techniques employed were observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The data analysis procedures were data reduction, data display, and conclusion. Tringualation was used to check the data validity, credibility, transferability, dependability, and confirmability.The findings of the research reveal the following results. Firstly, the pattern of the leadership of kiai is preserving and maintaining lineage or dzurriyyah (leader is born). The characteristics of the leadership of kiai are paternalistic, charismatic, pseudo-democratic, and transcendent-transformative. Secondly, the shifting patterns of the leadership of kiai are maintaining direct dzurriyah, direct and closest dzurriyyah, and indirect and closest dzurriyyah. The patterns are based on the following principles: a) capable to maintain knowledge and the characteristics of the boarding school, b) able to maintain the values of the ​​boarding schools and families (dzurriyyah), c) able to maintain the values ​​and patterns of leadership characteristics which are paternalistic, charismatic, pseudo-democratic, and transcendent-transformative, and d) finally, able to maintain the institutional characteristics of the boarding schools which are salafiyah, salafiyah-khalafiyah, and khalafiyah. Thirdly,  the impacts of the leadership shift of kiai are as follows. a) the leadership pattern is more open and accepts value changes. b) Diversity of institutional models occurs from salafiyah, salafiyah-khalafiyah, and khalafiyah. c) the models of institutional buildings are from wood and bamboo to modern buildings. d) the quality of human resources is in the forms of expertises religious knowledge and science. e) the management of santri is from traditional to classical management models, and f) the outputs or graduates involve in the works for the religious instution and community services in his environment.

The development plan of the Islamic Boarding School in the middle of the times it is not impossible to do. As the oldest educational institutions in Indonesia, Islamic Boarding School is an educational institution that is civilized. The development of Islamic boarding school can be done through two aspects; boarding school as an educational unit and boarding school as a place of education units. Islamic Boarding School as an educational unit in the form of Muaddalah Islamic Boarding School while boarding school as a place of education unit is a main unit of doing other educational institutions. Development of the Islamic Boarding School can also be developed through the role of Islamic Boarding Schools that do not merely act as an educational institution, but also serves as a social institutions and economic institutions of society.
