Hypertension is one of the common complications and contributes significantly to perinatal mortality and morbidity. Hypertension is a sign of underlying pathology which may be pre-existing or appear for the first time during pregnancy. The identification of clinical entity and effective management plays a significant role in the outcome of pregnancy, both for the mother and the baby. The main aim of the study was to assess the effect of planned teaching on the knowledge regarding pregnancy induced hypertension among antenatal mothers. The study was conducted on conveniently selected 30 samples of antenatal mothers in Civil hospital, Shahpur. Data was collected by Socio-demographic variables and Self Structured Knowledge Questionnaire. Collected data was analyzed by descriptive and inferential statistics. Results indicated that the planned teaching had significant impact on knowledge regarding pregnancy induced hypertension among antenatal mothers. In this study, posttest knowledge score was associated with education and occupation.

Hypertension is one of the common disorders of pregnancy; it can impact the body in different ways and contributes signicantly to the maternal and perinatal morbidity and mortality. The main aim of the study is to assess the knowledge on pregnancy induced hypertension with a view to develop an information booklet among the antenatal mothers attending antenatal OPD.A Non-Experimental, Descriptive design was adopted for the study. In the study, 150 antenatal mothers were selected by using purposive sampling technique. The tools used for the study were demographic variables, self-structured knowledge questionnaire and information booklet. The analysis was done by using descriptive and inferential statistics in terms of frequency, percentage distribution and chi-square. The study reveal that 112(75%) have poor knowledge and 38(25%) of the antenatal mothers has good knowledge on pregnancy induced hypertension. There was a signicant association between the level of knowledge score on pregnancy induced hypertension with the selected demographic variables. By providing the information booklet, it will help the society to prevent any problem with pregnancy induced hypertension.

Background: School going is a period of life with health and developmental needs and rights. It this period the children develop knowledge and skills, learn to manage emotions and relationships. The WHO defines school going from age 10 to 19 years. Investing in the world’s 1.2 billion school going can break cycles of poverty and inequity, highlights UNICEF in its 2011 State of the World’s Children report. Aggressive behaviors can obstruct instruction and success in a variety of interventions, preventing progress in a variety of developmental domains. Objectives: 1. To assess the knowledge among parents related to the aggression of school going children. 2. To determine the association between the knowledge score of parents with their demographic variables. Materials and Methods: This study was based on a descriptive approach, In this study 80 parents of school going children were selected from the rural area of Sawangi Meghe,Wardha District by using tool such as structured knowledge questionnaire with non-probability convenient sampling method data was collected. Results: The study showed that the mean percentage of knowledge score was 13.31±4.39 (44.36 %) according to the level of knowledge score regarding aggression among parents of school going children. 2.5% of the parents had poor, 42.5% had average, 45% had good knowledge score, 8.75% had very good knowledge score and 1.25% had excellent knowledge score.   Conclusion: The present study is descriptive and aims to assess the knowledge regarding aggression among parents of school going children. Recommendation, we can study on Impact of the Aggression on student’s mental health and school performance.

AbstractThe study was conducted on effectiveness of antenatal care package on knowledge of pregnancy induced hypertension for antenatal mothers from 7/09/2009 to 10/10/2009. The research design was an evaluative approach using one group pretest post test the experimental design 40 antenatal mothers were selected by purposive sampling. Data was collected using structured knowledge questionnaire. Antenatal care package was developed.The pre test knowledge questionnaire was administered on the first day followed by an antenatal care package. The post test was conducted after five days using the same tool. The pretest knowledge data showed that maximum number of mothers 26(65.5%) scored between the range of 11-20% (average).The mean knowledge score was 14.88 where as the maximum possible score was 30.Among seven areas, the mean percentage knowledge in the area of basic factors of PIH was 43.75%, clinical features 41%, diagnosis 44%, management 57.5%, diet 50%, complication 50%, and prevention 58%.The 't” value showed the significant difference in the posttest, ('t' calculated value of pretest and post test knowledge scores = 14.22 p<0.05 which showed that antenatal care package was effective in improving the knowledge of antenatal mothers on pregnancy induced hypertension.There was significant association between pretest level of knowledge and age, educational status, occupation, monthly income, parity, gestational age, history of hypertension in previous pregnancy.

Background: Hypertensive disorders are common complication occurring during pregnancy which are responsible for maternal and fetal mortality and morbidity. Objective: The purpose of the present study was to determine the perinatal outcome in pregnancy induced hypertension. Methodology: This study was designed as cross-sectional study and was conducted from April 2013 to September 2013 for a period of six (06) moths. Patients admitted in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Shaheed SuhrawardyMedical College Hospital, Dhaka. Data were collected by interview, physical examintions (blood pressure, pulse rate, oedema, heart and lungs auscultation) and lab investigations using a structural questionnaire. Result: Majority of the women belonged to age group 21-25 year. Maximum were (56%) primigravida. The mean gestational age was 34.6 weeks with the range from 28 to 40 weeks. Hyperurecaemia was frequent among patients with pregnancy induced hypertension. Intrauterine growth retardation (IUGR) was secondary to pregnancy induced hypertension which was associated with significantly increased perinatalmortality. Conclusion: In this study, prematurity is frequent in pregnancy induced hypertension and convulsion in nonresponsive patients is associated with significantly increased perinatal mortality.Journal of National Institute of Neurosciences Bangladesh, January 2016;2(1): 10-13

Introduction: World Health Organization has reported that pregnancy induced hypertension is one of the main causes for mortality and morbidity in maternal and fetal deaths. About 60% of deaths accounted of eclampsia. Aims and Objectives: To diagnose for hypertension in pregnant women. To evaluate the knowledge of pregnancy induced hypertension among the pregnant women. To investigate the complications reported in Pregnancy induced hypertension (PIH) women, during and after labor. Study area and period: The present study was conducted in Chittoor government hospital, Chittoor, during the period of Jan 2016 and Dec 2017. The information and materials required for the study have been collected from the gynecology and obstetrics departments of the respective hospital. Results: During the study period of Jan 2016 and Dec 2017, about 2234 number of pregnant women have visited the obstetrics and gynecology department. All the 2234 pregnant women were tested for blood pressure. Among which 198 women were found to have hypertension, which may be of early onset PIH or chronic hypertension (HTN). Different variables of the study population like period of gestation [<20 weeks, ≥20 weeks], previous cesarean section if present, previous preterm delivery if present, hypertension in previous pregnancy, history of paternal hypertension, history of abortions if have been, history of any still births, family history of PIH have been noted and reported in table 2. More than 8% of women were found to been falling in <20 weeks of gestational age (GA). Conclusion: The study included 2234 pregnant women, in which 198 women were diagnosed with hypertension. Thus, prior investigation and identification hypertension in pregnant women helps in better management of PIH and to overcome the complications that are reported due to PIH during and after labor. Better knowledge and treatment is required for managing hypertension in maternal women in gynecology and obstetrics department for maternal and fetal care.

ABSTRACTBackground: Mobile Applications are being developed at a rapid speed and are intensively used by students. It can help to achieve better performance in organizing, managing, and monitoring classroom activities.Aims and objectives: Present study aimedto assess and compare the knowledge and practice regarding FBNC among nursing students in MBL group and MABL group before and after the administration of MBL and MABL. The conceptual framework of the study was based on CIPP model by Stufflebeam.Methods: A Quantitative research approach with quasi-experimental and  non-equivalent controlgroup pre–test post–test design. The study was conducted at two nursing colleges of Ambala, Haryana. A total of 70 B.Sc. Nursing 3rd Year students, randomly allocated to 2 groups i.e. 35 in MBL and 35 in MABL. The tool used for the study consisted of structured knowledge questionnaire and observational check list was used to assess knowledge and practices by OSCE method of nursing students regarding FBNC. Data collection was done in January, 2017. The obtained data was analyzed and interpreted in terms of objectives and researchResults: Findingsof the study indicate that revealed that mean post- test knowledge and practices score in MBL group (21.4 ±0.89) and in MABL group (22.4 ± 0.54) was significantly higher than pre-test knowledge score in MBL group (14.6±15.0) and in MABL group (16.2±17.0). Also, the mean post-test practice score in MBL group (38.1±1.91) and in MABL group (38.9± 1.20) was significantly higher than pre-test practicescore in MBL (20.4 ± 3.70) as well as in MABL group (20.5 ± 4.26). Mild positive significant relationship (r=0.03) was found between post test score of knowledge and practicesConclusion: MABL was more effective in developing the practices of nursing students regarding FBNC than MBL.

Background: Necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC) is mostly limited to preterm babies due to immaturity of gut. NEC is one of important cause of neonatal mortality and morbidity in the neonatal intensive care units all over the world.Aim of study is to find the antenatal and post-natal risk factors associated with necrotizing enterocolitis in neonates admitted to NICU.Methods: A prospective study was conducted on 45 neonates with necrotizing enterocolitis fulfilling the predetermined inclusion criteria. A detailed antenatal history including all maternal risk factors, birth history including the need for resuscitation and type of resuscitation was recorded. The gestational assessment was done by the New Ballard Score.Results: Pregnancy induced hypertension accounts as a risk factor to most of the cases of NEC 18 (40%), followed by setting for sepsis 12 (26.6%), least being gestational diabetes mellitus 1 (2.2%).Conclusions: Prematurity is found to be the most common risk factor followed by patent ductus arteriosus and sepsis. Most common antenatal risk factor was PIH (Pregnancy induced hypertension).

Introduction: Menstruation is a periodic cycle which occurs after every 28-30 days in every healthy woman after menarche till menopause. In recent years, this blood is considered as best out of waste as pluripotent stem cells can be collected from it. In addition to this, it could be saved for future benefits. In this study, an attempt has been made to rule out nursing student’s cognizance regarding menstrual blood banking. Aim of the study: To assess the knowledge regarding menstrual blood banking among nursing students at Jodhpur. Material and Method: A descriptive study was carried out on 180 nursing students of Government Nursing College, Jodhpur. Non-probability purposive sampling method was used to select samples. Study was conducted from 17th September to 17th October’2020 using structured knowledge questionnaire. Moreover, study was analysed by using descriptive and inferential statistics. Result: The findings of the study reveals that majority (58.03%) of the nursing students had moderate knowledge regarding menstrual blood banking. Furthermore, the study illustrated a significant association between level of knowledge and selected socio- demographic variables. Conclusion: It can be reiterated that nursing students have an average knowledge regarding menstrual blood banking. KEY WORDS: Knowledge, menstrual blood banking, menstruation.

A pre-experimental study was conducted to assess the effectiveness of structured teaching programme on knowledge regarding text neck syndrome among young adults in a selected college at Alappuzha District. The objectives of the study were to assess the mean knowledge score regarding text neck syndrome among young adults, to find out the effectiveness of structured teaching programme on knowledge regarding text neck syndrome among young adults and to find out the association between pretest knowledge score and selected socio demographic variables. The Conceptual framework was based on Nola J Pender’s Health Promotion model (1982). The study was conducted at Bishop Moore College, Mavelikara. among 60 young adults, who were selected by disproportionate stratified random sampling technique. The pretest level of knowledge was assessed using structured knowledge questionnaire and structured teaching programme was given. Posttest was conducted after 7days.The result showed that the mean posttest knowledge score 20.26 with SD 3.15 was significantly higher than the pretest mean score 8.43 with SD 2.48 with a mean difference of 11.83. Since the calculated ‛t’ value 35.45 which was greater than the table value (2.00) with degree of freedom 59 at p<0.05 level of significance. Hence the study revealed that structured teaching programme on text neck syndrome was effective in improving the knowledge of young adults. The association between pretest and selected socio demographic variables showed that the pretest knowledge scores was influenced by year of study (p<0.05), family monthly income (p<0.05) and source of information (p<0.05).

The present study was conducted to assess the knowledge on lifestyle modification for prevention of hypertension among adults in a selected hospital, Kidangoor, Kottayam. The sample consisted of 30 adults between the age group of 40-60 years selected by convenient sampling technique. The design used was descriptive design. Demographic data and structured knowledge questionnaire were used to assess the sample characteristics on life style modification on hypertension and its prevention. The data collected in the study was analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The majority of the sample belonged to the age group of 40-45 years (26.66%) and 51-55 years (26.66%). Half of the sample had high school education. 16(53.33%) of them were unemployed. Majority 18(60%) of the sample had average knowledge on prevention of hypertension. 7(23.3%) of the sample had good knowledge and 5of them had poor knowledge on prevention of hypertension. The present study concluded that majority of the sample have average knowledge regarding prevention of hypertension. There is statistically significant association between level of knowledge score with selected demographic variables like age and religion.
