Research subject (review of moral don’ts in the news service of Baghlan local TV). The question of the research is how local TV stations in Baghlan act in order to avoid moral don’ts in their news services? Moral don’ts, in fact, are the red lines in the field of individual and social ethics that obliges journalists to refrain from them in preparing news and reports. The aim of this study is to understand the commitment of journalists of Baghlan local TVs in refraining from ethical don'ts in producing news productions. The importance of the research is that the journalists and officials of the local TV stations in Baghlan, by studying it, should identify the moral don’ts in news service and make efforts to eliminate them, and this will lead to the advancement of ethical journalism. Among the variables or moral don’ts (desecration, distortion of facts, promotion of slavery, and involvement in criminal and political issues, psychological warfare, sexual abuse, racial discrimination, ethnic discrimination and linguistic discrimination) have been studied in the Baghlan local TVs news services. The important findings of the study are that the relationship between four variables (desecration, distortion of facts, racial discrimination and ethnic discrimination) are meaningful in Baghlan local TVs news services; that its two variables (racial discrimination and ethnic discrimination) are common in all three TV stations (Baghlan National, Pasban and Tanwir) and the other two variables are only meaningful on Pasban TV. The present article is based on the theory of social responsibility. In the theory of social responsibility, the media accept and implement certain obligations in society, including refraining from moral don’ts. The research method is a quantitative research method of survey or field type. The statistical population is Pul-e-Khumri city and the sample population were selected using non-random (targeted) sampling. Keywords: ethics, media ethics, television, news service, moral don’ts

This study aims to determine whether the financial performance measured by using CAR, ROA, LDR, BOPO, and CSR can affect the value of banking companies as measured by using PBV. This study uses secondary data taken from the annual report of banking companies during the year 2012-2016 listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The number of samples of this study as many as 25 banking companies with a total of 125 data. This research method is quantitative research. The results of this study indicate the effect of CAR, ROA, LDR, BOPO, and CSR variables on firm value measured by using PBV in a banking company listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. There is not much evidence on the effects of south–south migration and its consequences on physical and mental health. Our objective was to examine the mediating role of Acculturative Stress in the association between ethnic discrimination and racial discrimination with physical and mental health. This research is a non-experimental, analytical, cross-sectional study. A total of 976 adult Colombian migrants living in Chile were interviewed. We used the Everyday Discrimination Scale, the acculturative stress scale, and the Medical Outcomes Study Short Form (SF-12) for health status; we found that racial and ethnic discrimination had a negative effect on physical and mental health. In the simultaneous presence of both types of discrimination, racial discrimination was completely absorbed by ethnic discrimination, the latter becoming a total mediator of the effect of racial discrimination on mental and physical health. Our findings are consistent with the literature, which suggests that there are various types of discrimination which, individually or in their intersectionality, can have negative effects on health.

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is the responsibility of a company to commit to running a business ethically, morally, and contributing to economic development and improving people's lives. Gemawang Village, Jambu Regency, Ambawara, is one of the locations for CSR recipients. This location is the object of this research. This study aims to analyze the role of CSR in enhancing community development, as well as to find out the obstacles faced by companies in increasing community development through CSR. This research method uses qualitative methods, where there are several key informants as sources of information. The indicators used in this study are the level of effectiveness, level of suitability, level of participation, level of empowerment, and level of sustainability. Based on the results of research in Gemawang Village, Jambu District, it can be concluded that CSR assistance provided by the company can improve community development and living standards. The Business world is growing rapidly today with many companies competing to generate a huge profit yet leaving their social responsibility behind. Accordingly, a few companies engage in CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) in order to increase the company’s image to society’s impression. This research aims to figure out whether there is a significant correlation of CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) programme in the form of “Sido Muncul Mudik Lebaran Gratis” to the image of PT Industri Jamu dan Farmasi Sido Muncul Tbk. The first theories employed were CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) theory and Corporate Image Theory. The research method used was Pearson’s Correlation research method by using the quantitative analysis, in which questionnaires were spread to 100 herbalist traders in Pondok Gede area, East Jakarta. The scale in use was Semantic Differential with 10% error rate.The research result shows that there is no correlation of CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) programme in the form of “Sido Muncul Mudik Lebaran Gratis” to the image of PT Industri Jamu dan Farmasi Sido Muncul Tbk. Despite the numerous efforts to reduce prejudice and social discrimination as well as their repercussions, such phenomena are still part of everyday life and mark individual life stories. The experiences of the target and the agent of discrimination were differents. The present study addresses a gap in the literature of social psychology: through a relational analysis, it explores the perceptions of the target of discrimination without leaving aside the perspective of the agent. Using a computerized version of a self-report instrument, we aimed to assess the relation between the experience of racial discrimination and skin color and to what extent this relation is modulated by psychosocial and sociodemographic variables in two national contexts, Brazil and Mozambique. A total of 150 university students participated in the study, 89 from Brazil and 61 from Mozambique. The results show that in both countries the participants report more experiences of discrimination coming from White than from Black people, with a larger difference for the Brazilian sample population. The study also verified that the darker the person’s skin color, the higher their perception of having been discriminated against. In the Brazilian group, the accounts of discrimination coming both from White and Black people are associated with darker skin color. In the Mozambican group, diversely, participants with lighter and darker skin color perceived being the target of discrimination, inflicted both by White and Black people. Finally, we identified that perceived discrimination is predicted by skin color. The discussion focuses on the perspective of the targets of discrimination and highlights the role of skin color in the process of perceiving racial discrimination, especially regarding the psychosocial variables motivation to control prejudice and social domination.

This chapter provides an overview about media ethics that is very important for the news. Today, the rapid development and diversification of mass media tools have also accelerated the works in the field of communication ethics. Media responsibility, issues occurring in media, and public utility issues have come to the central position of communication ethics. Looking at the ethical codes in the media, it is seen that a large part of them are created for printed media, and the information about television is limited. The purpose of this study is to focus on the ethical issues that arise starting from the production stage of the television news with a holistic perspective in the context of the relationship between media and ethics by considering the ethical codes in the media and to offer solutions devoted to an ethical understanding of journalism. Within the scope of this study, the qualitative research method included the content analysis for the news about Princes Diana and Prince Harry as samples.

Researchers have used audit studies to provide causal evidence of racial discrimination for nearly 60 years. Although audits are an excellent methodological tool to investigate the “what,” “where,” and “when” aspects of racial-ethnic discrimination, audits are less appropriate, by themselves, to investigate the “how” and “why” aspects of racial-ethnic discrimination. In this article, I review why audit studies are necessary to study racial-ethnic discrimination, the evidence from audit studies, and their limitations. I then argue that scholars should adopt a multimethod approach to audit studies to move from documenting the existence of racial-ethnic discrimination to examining how and why racial-ethnic discrimination occurs. Adoption of this multimethod approach will result in a deeper understanding of racial-ethnic discrimination with the potential to shape both opinions and policy surrounding discrimination.

AbstractThere were 1525 applications for asylum in the Czech Republic in 2015, and 71 people were granted asylum. Despite this fact migration was the most covered topic in the Czech media (especially television news services) in 2015. The discussed events were labelled as a wave or flood and were framed as a crisis, threat, and risk not only by the journalists but by politicians as well. This paper is based on quantitative and qualitative research on migration and war refugees from August 17, 2015 to September 18, 2015 in six news programmes of the public service broadcaster, namely the Czech Radio. The main aim of this study is to measure the extent of multidimensional poverty in Kabul and compare different areas. The research method is a survey. The data collection tool is a researcher-made questionnaire. The statistical population of the study is all households living in Kabul. Since the residents of Kabul is over 6 million people, we use Cochran's formula. We selected 300 families. According to the research background, the judges determined the validity of the questionnaire. We used Cronbach's Alpha calculation to determine the questionnaire's reliability. The value of which was (78.9%) on average for different sections. To perform statistical tests, we use SPSS software. The results show that generally, households in Kabul are not the poor according to the dimensions and criteria of multidimensional poverty; because the maximum deprivation rate is less than (40 %(. Partly, the highest poverty rates were related to the criteria such as (37%) deprivation in the roof of the house, (28.7%) deprivation in the wall of the house, (27.3%) deprivation of literacy in adults, and (18.8%) deprivation in the per capita room. The lowest deprivation rates were (0.3%) for electricity, (1%) for bathrooms, (2.3%) for children, (4.3%) for disability, (4.4%) for drinking water, (6.7%) for unemployment, (6.7%) for children, (8%) for household floors, and (9.7%) for health services. There are no restrictions on child labor, heating facilities, and cooking fuel. Also, among the surveyed areas, District 4 has the highest deprivation and poverty in terms of education, living standards, work, and housing compared to other selected areas of Kabul city.

In the future managers will have to take into account in their everyday decision-making processes the values promoted by corporate social responsibility. Apart from the consideration of the problems related to the market, profitability, sources of financing, etc. much attention will have to be paid to economic, social and ecological results of business activities, so to the ideas that form the foundations of the concept of corporate social responsibility. However, if businesses are to apply any new concept, method or management technique, it is necessary to familiarize themselves with it first. Therefore, the objective of the present research is the identification of the degree of the awareness of CSR concepts, their scope and the frequency of socially-responsible behaviours displayed among economic entities representing the warmińsko-mazurski region. The research objective was presented in the form of a question: Are companies operating in the warmińsko-mazurski region aware of the existence of the concepts of corporate social responsibility and do they understand them? In the light of the above objective the following research hypothesis was formulated: Entrepreneurs and employees of companies operating in the warmińsko-mazurskie province are familiarised with CSR concepts but to a small degree only and activities undertaken by them in this scope are usually of a temporary character and do not contribute to building the image of socially-responsible businesses. The studies were diagnostic and the research method applied was a diagnostic survey based on the developed questionnaire.
