Distance learning is the process of acquiring knowledge, abilities, skills and methods of human cognitive activity, it occurs mainly through the indirect interaction of participants in the educational process distant from each other in a specialized environment, it functions on the basis of modern psychological, pedagogical and information and communication technologies. In today’s world, distance learning is a must. This was shown by the existing COVID-19 pandemic. The purpose of our work was to present teaching methods at the Department of Orthodontics of the Ukrainian Medical Dental Academy and to determine the advantages and disadvantages of distance education. To present theoretical and practically oriented content, organize independent work and control knowledge during quarantine, the possibilities of distance learning were used using the Google Classroom web service and using the ZOOM platform, Google-meet, which made it possible to use video, photographic materials, tables, control and diagnostic models, panoramic and other images, orthodontic appliances, orthodontic instruments. Distance learning technology is flexible than traditional. This is its advantage. It is aimed at those who study, creates a comfortable environment for the applicant for higher education to master the material 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Distance learning allows you to move away from the traditional system of teaching educational material. However, this teaching methodology requires a high level of teacher training. The teacher must have modern pedagogical and information technologies and be psychologically ready to work with applicants for education in a new educational and cognitive environment. The distance form of education must correspond to the methods of teaching in higher medical school. So, the material and technical clinical base of the Department of Orthodontics of the UMCA allows you to provide high-quality online training. But the spread of COVID-19 leads to day-to-day changes in all spheres of life, including healthcare, and the education system.

The development of information technologies makes it possible to record a large amount of data in the learning process, both on the results of performing educational operations and on the psychophysical characteristics of students. In this regard, a number of ethical, pedagogical and methodological problems arise. Among them are the disproportionate control actions to the volume and properties of information retrieved during monitoring and problems associated with ensuring the information security of the student. In contrast to natural monitoring, monitoring the management of teaching has as an object of training a person, who can be considered, from the point of view of management, as a highly organized information system. The article is devoted to the study of the problem of non-invasive monitoring, involving the redirection of most of the monitoring information to the student himself. As a definition of non-invasive monitoring, the following is proposed: non-invasive monitoring is a type of pedagogical feedback that is used exclusively for correcting the student’s actions and is prohibited from using to control the effectiveness and transfer the results outside class. The article analyzes 15 different teaching paradigms, which are explicitly or implicitly adhered to by teachers, organizing the educational process, from the point of view of compliance with the tasks of non-invasive monitoring. The methodological aspects of the implementation of non-invasive monitoring from the point of view of computer support of the learning process are also analyzed. It is shown how non-invasive monitoring can be supported by software that provides active interaction of the student with the subject environment and gives the teacher more freedom in planning and achieving strategic goals of managing the educational process.

The modern educational system has a peculiarity: acting as a user, it simultaneously stimulates the development of information and digital technologies. This characteristic is especially come out in the higher education system. At the same time, despite the objective and subjective attractiveness of modern information and digital technologies, it is necessary to realize that their adaptation is, although effective, but still an auxiliary tool in the organization and implementation of the educational process. The introduction of information technologies into the educational process makes it possible to significantly enrich the process of transferring knowledge from teacher to student, to facilitate understanding of complex topics, to level the repetitive monotony in the classroom, to increase the motivation of educational activities, to intensify the activities of students in the classroom, to form a conscious attitude to the educational process, etc. At the same time, the use of information and digital technologies should be justified, logically expedient, designed to complement (and not replace) the teacher's activities in the classroom.

Introduction. The study of Al-Farabi’s pedagogical heritage is relevant, since it allows forming a scientific idea of the level of progressive experience in teaching and upbringing in the conditions of the early Middle Ages, in the era of the flourishing and rise of culture in the East. Research purpose is to consider Al-Farabi’s creative heritage and give an overview of his scientific-pedagogical ideas. Materials and methods. The authors used Al-Farabi’s treatises, reflecting his pedagogical ideas, as well as the works of modern teachers, historians and philosophers. Research methods: analysis, synthesis and historical-pedagogical interpretation of the data contained in the sources; systematization and generalization of materials obtained as a result of studying open Internet sources and modern scientific literature. Research results. Despite the fact that Al-Farabi’s ideas were based on the works by Plato and Aristotle on the cognizability of the world, the scholar has developed original applications of this theory in relation to the needs of that time, taking into account the state religious policy. According to the thinker, the ideal of upbringing and education includes the mastery of scientific knowledge, moral and aesthetic perfection of both the student and the teacher. The rules proposed by Al-Farabi asserted the social significance of teaching and upbringing based on mutual respect of teachers and students. The educational system and teaching methods proposed by Al-Farabi made it possible to activate the students’ creative and cognitive activity, contributed to the development of logical thinking and comprehension of the information they receive. Discussion and conclusion. The study and analysis of Al-Farabi’s treatises show that the thinker considered all aspects of the educational process: educational goal, learning content, teaching methods and tools, the duties of the student and the teacher. The thinker’s entire creative heritage is imbued with the ideas of humanizing and democratizing society through its improvement by upbringing and educational tools.

The article investigates theoretical approaches to the essence of the concept of ‘methodology’ in modern jurisprudence based on the analysis of the views of domestic and foreign scientific researchers. It is proposed under the methodology to understand the set of methods, means, principles and procedures of scientific research, used in the process of scientific knowledge of a particular problem, with the help of which the researcher substantiates the phenomenon under investigation. It is determined that the development of modern legal science requires a well-formed research methodology, since the term ‘methodology’ is often changed with the term ‘methods/ technique’. It is established that there are different and not always unambiguous interpretations of the concept of methodology in the modern world and they are provoked by the rapid globalization development of society, the introduction of new information resources, digitalization, etc. The basic categories on which the methodology is based, which is endowed with a certain apparatus of research, which include: methods and ways of organizing scientific research; principles and forms of organization of scientific research; techniques and procedures of scientific research. It is substantiated that all the components of scientific research constitute the foundation of methodological apparatus and collectively make up a certain tool for the knowledge of the phenomena and processes under study. The significance and difference of the concepts of ‘scientific method’ and ‘method of science’ have been considered and the main requirements for these concepts have been characterized. It is determined that the right choice of research methods will lead the scientist to deep and verified results, provided that these methods will be used together with another elements of scientific research in order to solve certain problems. It was revealed that there are a considerable number of methods, the unity and interrelation of which form the specificity and integrity of the cognitive activity in science, the determining of which are general scientific, theoretical, experimental and specific. The key principles on which the methodology of scientific research should be formed are specified, i.e. the principle of consistency, the principle of development, the principle of unity of theory and practice, the principle of objectivity, the principle of abstraction, the principle of decomposition. The main functions the methodology is based on are characterized. It is defined that modern scientific research is impossible without a clearly formed methodology, which should have a systemic nature in scientific research and be carried out in certain logical sequences.
