The purpose of this study to determine the effect of giving silage of fish waste to the level of meat fat and the abdominal fat of duck in Magelang. The role of duck farming is very important to provide the protein of Indonesian people for meat and eggs. The use of feeding ingredients that are easily available at relatively cheaper prices but still good nutritional content for the production, one of them is by utilizing silage of fish waste. Fish waste silage also contains the necessary ingredients for ducks. The design used in this study was a completely randomized design (CRD). The study consisted of 3 treatments there is P0 (control), P1 (fish silage 5%), P2 (fish silage 10%), and 4 repetitions. The analysis using one-way ANOVA with a level of 5%, if there is a difference, then Duncan's Multiple Distance Test is performed. The results showed that silage application of fish waste did not significantly affect the fat content of meat (P> 0.05). There was no significant effect on abdominal fat levels (P> 0.05). The result showed that the addition of fish silage food resulted in the normal level of meet fat and abdominal fat.

<p class="p1">The objective of the study was to determine the effect of lysine supplementation in ration on carcass yield, abdominal fat and fat content of ten-week old male local duck meat. The study used 80 male local ducks aged two weeks (average weight 326.40±31.84 g). The experimental design used was Completely Randomized Design with four treatments, consisted of four replications with five male local ducks each. Rations consisted of pollard, yellow corn, soybean meal, palm oil, premix and lysine (in the form of L-Lysine HCl). The basal diet was supplemented with lysine at the amount of 0 (control), 0.05, 0.10 and 0.15%. The variables observed were the slaughter weight, abdominal fat percentage, carcass yield and fat content of the meat. The results showed that lysine supplementation in the diet of local duck ten-week old male decreased (P&lt;0.01) abdominal fat but did not affect slaughter weight, carcass yield and fat content of meat. It can be concluded that lysine supplementation of 0.15 percent of the total ration can reduce abdominal fat percentage of ten-week old male local duck meat.</p>

The leaves of M oleifera contain high protein and crude fiber. Thus the addition of  M oleifera leaves is expected to increase protein levels and crude fiber levels of crackers produced. This study aimed to determine the effect of the addition moringa leaves on the characteristics of crackers and the addition of the moringa leaves to product crackers on characteristics acceptable to panelists based on sensory analysis. This study used a Completely Randomized Design with 5 treatments, that was the addition of leaves A (4%), B (6%), C (8%), D (10%), E (12%), and 3 replications. The data were analyzed using ANOVA and continued with Duncan's New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at a significant level of 5%. The results show that the addition of moringa leaves a significant effect on moisture content, protein content, fat content, ash content, carbohydrates, crude fiber, but does not significantly affect on color, aroma, taste, and texture of the crackers. Based on nutritional content and sensory test, the crackers of treatment E (the addition of moringa leaves 12%) with the characteristics moisture content of 4.67%; protein content of 14.18%; fat content of 22.52%; ash content of 1.67%; carbohydrates of 56.96%; crude fiber of 15.50%; calories of 456.42 kcal/100g; the color of 3.43 (neutral); aroma of 3.83 (likes); a taste of 3.17 (neutral); and texture of 3.30 (neutral).

Access to pasture improves poultry welfare, as it provides fresh grass, insects and worms which lead to enhanced product quality. The increased locomotor activity in the pasture system can improve leg health and lower the proportion of body fat. The objective of this study therefore,was to determine the effect of access to pasture on abdominal fat content and carcass characteristics of finished broilers. Eighteen (18) mature Hubbard-classic broilers at eight (8) weeks of age were used for the study. The birds were separated into two treatments with nine birds per treatment. Treatment 1 was the birds placed on pasture, while treatment 2 was the birds kept indoors on deep litter. Data from both treatments were analyzed as from a completely randomized design and compared using t-test. The result shows that there was no significant difference (t ) between the two treatments in all the parameters considered.Hence, itwas concluded that pasture access for finished broilers has no effect on abdominal fat content and carcass traits comparedwith finished broilers on deep litter.

Lead found in pipes, batteries, paint, dyes ceramic glaze, gasoline, and final waste disposal. The robusta coffee grouds residues had high carbon, nitrogen etc which can adsorb heavy metal.The purpose of this study is to analyze the robusta coffee grounds residues to adsorb the Pb in the water. The method of this research is a True Experimental using completely randomized design (CRD) method. There were control groups (C) and three treatments groups (T1; T2;T3; 5gram/ litre; 8gram/ litre; 10gram/ litre) with six repetitions. The robusta coffee ground residues were contacted for 2 hours.Total samples were24 samples which analyzed each parameter of the Pb with Atomic Adsorption Spectophotometry Analysis. The results showed that the more coffee ground residues that are exposed, increasingly turbid. The KS test showed that data were a normal distribution (sig=0,324). One way ANOVA test; Turkey post Hoc showed that there was sig difference between the control and treatment (F=4,326, Sig= 0,017). There were sig difference between control and treatment 2 and 3 (Sig=0,019; Sig=0,038). Robusta coffee grounds residues can reuse to adsorb the Pb pollution in the water. It can be a solution for treating the lead pollution in the water because of it easy to the application.

Problems arising from silica sand mining are decreasing soil fertility, as well as the presence of high heavy metals such as Fe and Al, which inhibits the growth of revegetation plants. The purpose of this study was to analyze the response of the growth of balsa seedlings (Ochroma bicolor Rowlee.) on silica sand post-mining media treated with MycoSilvi, compost, and lime and determine the most optimal combination of MycoSilvi, compost, and lime treatment. This study uses a completely randomized design (CRD) with a split-plot design with 3 treatment factors, namely the addition of MycoSilvi, compost, and lime. Each treatment consisted of five replications. The results showed that the planting media that were not treated (control) was not able to support the growth of balsa seedlings. The interaction of MycoSilvi, compost, and lime significantly affected the height, diameter, biomass, and percentage of mycorrhizal colonization parameters, and significantly affected the plant chlorophyll content. The combination of MycoSilvi type 1 treatment, namely Glomus mosseae and lime (C0K1M1) type, resulted in the highest total growth rate, diameter, biomass, and colonization percentage compared to other treatments. The addition of lime and compost to the growth medium can reduce the degree of mycorrhizal dependency of balsa seedling.

The low yield of rice in thick peat can be overcome by provisioning complete nutrients. Various efforts have been made to increase the productivity of Indonesian peatlands, one of which is by adding salted fish waste and cow manure. This research was carried out on a plastic house scale from October 2017 to January 15, 2018, in Pelalawan District, Pelalawan Regency, Riau. This research was arranged in a Completely Randomized Design (CRD), consisting of eight treatments, namely L0 = Control, L1 = 1.5 ton.ha-1 of fish waste, L2 = 2.25 ton.ha-1 of fish waste, L3 = 7 tons/ha of cow manure, L4 = 15 ton.ha-1 of cow manure, L5 = 1.5 ton.ha-1 of fish waste + 7 ton.ha-1 of cow manure, L6 = 1.5 ton.ha-1 of fish waste + 15 ton.ha-1 of cow manure, L7 = 2. 25 ton.ha-1 of fish waste + 7 ton.ha-1 of cow manure, and L8 = 2.25 ton.ha-1 of fish waste + 15 ton.ha-1 of cow manure. The results showed that the application of cow manure and salted fish waste could increase soil pH, total NPK, and NPK uptake. The application of 2.25 tons/ha of fish waste and 15 tons/ha of cow manure resulted the best results in soil pH, total NPK, and NPK uptake, therefore it is recommended for the cultivation of lowland rice on peat soil.

<p><em>Coffee is a beverage that is widely consumed around the world. Proper packaging and storage temperature may extend shelf life of ground coffee. The study aimed to analyze the shelf life of ground Arabica coffee stored in different packaging types and temperature, conducted at smallholder coffee plantations in Garut Regency and the Integrated Laboratory of Indonesian Industrial and Beverage Crops Research Institute, Sukabumi, from June to August 2018. A completely randomized design in factorial was used with 3 factors and 2 replications. The first factor was the packaging type  which consisted of 3 types: thick alumunium  foil 65</em><em>m</em><em> (AF65), thick alumunium  foil 130</em><em>m</em><em> (AF130), and thick lamination 114</em><em>m</em><em> (L144). The second factor was the storage temperature which consisted of 3 levels: 25 <sup>o</sup>C, 35 <sup>o</sup>C, and 45 <sup>o</sup>C, while the third factor was the storage period which consisted of 5 levels: coffee unstored, and coffee stored for 2 weeks, 4 weeks, 6 weeks, and 8 weeks. The variables observed were the water and fat content, and the analysis of shelf life was carried out using the ASLT (Accelerated Shelf Life Test) method. The results showed that during storage, the water content increased, whereas the fat content decreased. Fat content is a critical variable in determining the shelf life of coffee. The coffee in AF130 packaging has longer shelf life than in AF65 and L144. To extend the shelf life of coffee packaged in AF130 and L144 is best kept at 45<sup> o</sup>C whereas coffee in AF65 packaging  is ideally at 25<sup> o</sup>C.</em></p>

ABSTRACTEucheuma cottonii (E. cottonii) seaweed is a low level plant that has a high nutritional value. One of the ingredients that play a role in the formation of texture is carrageenan.Carrageenan is a type of hydrocolloid extracted from the seaweed of the red algae group (Rhodophyceae). The purpose of this study was to determine the quality of yields of Seaweed Carrageenan Extract (E. cottonii) obtained from Tablolong beach in the form of yield, ash content and fat content. The method used in this study is an experimental method with a completely randomized design (CRD) and for fat testing using quantitative descriptive methods. This study uses various concentrations of 0.1 N KOH, 0.2 N KOH, 0.3 N KOH and 0.4 N KOH. The results of the carrageenan yield test show that the addition of 0.1 N KOH concentration has a value of 56.10, KOH 0 , 2 N 62.16, KOH 0.3 N 72.73 and the best treatment was at P4 KOH 0.4 N 80.90. Carrageenan ash content test results showed that the addition of KOH concentration value obtained P1 KOH 0.1 N was 60.50, P2 KOH 0.2 N was 70.70, P3 KOH 0.3 N was 80.50, and P4 KOH 0.4 with a value of 90.50. The results of the carrageenan fat content of 0.1 KOH treatment has a fat content of 0, 2 while the treatment of KOH 0,2, KOH 0,3, KOH 0,4 have no fat content by showing the value (0). The results showed that the highest yield in the treatment of KOH concentration of 0.4 N with a value 80.95% and carrageenan ash content has the highest value in the treatment concentration of 0.4 N with a value of 90.50% while the fat content has a value of 0.2 in the treatment of KOH concentration of 0.1 N Keywords: Carrageenan, extract of E. cottonii seaweed.

This study aims to determine the effect of steamed potatoes and green bean flour on the characteristics of flakes, and to know the right ratio of steamed potatoes and green bean flour which produced flakes with the best characteristics. The was used in this research completely randomized design with the treatment ratio of steamed potatoes and green bean flour, which consists of 6 levels such as: 35% : 65%, 40% : 60%, 45% : 55%, 50% : 50%, 55% : 45%, 60% : 40%. The treatment was repeated 3 times to obtained 18 units of the experiment. The data were analysed by variance analysis  and if the treatment had an effect on the variable then continued with Duncan test. The result showed steamed potatoes and green bean flour ratio had a significant effect on water content, ash content, fat content, protein content, carbohydrate content, color (hedonic), aroma (hedonic), texture (hedonic and scoring), taste (hedonic) and overall acceptance (hedonic). Ratio of 35% steamed potatoes and 65% green bean flour produced flakes with the best characteristics, with 2.41 % water content, 4.57 % ash content, 19.16% protein content, 10.20% fat content, 63.66% carbohydrate content, color liked, aroma liked, texture crunchy and liked, taste netral and overall acceptance rather liked.
