Krai is a group of vegetables that are widely planted by the community in Kasreman Village, Rembang Regency, Krai is planted every dry season with abundant production. the production of abundant krai and sold in fresh form causes low prices of krai even used as cattle feed, this is because krai does not have added value. Krai has the potential to be processed into various food preparations. one of them is processed jelly drink because of the typical water content in vegetables and aroma. Processing of jelly drinks with krai has not been done so that the use of carrageenan needs to be known for its concentration to be accepted by consumers. Research methods: experiment with simple RAK with carrageenan concentration: K1:2%; K2:4%; K3:6%; K4:8%. For organoleptics use student panelists who are accustomed to organoleptic tests with assessment criteria ˃2-3: Dislike; ˃3-4%: Enough Likes; ˃4-5%: Like; ˃5-6%: Very Like. Results:i) Carrageenan concentration against pH: There are significant differences between treatments. The highest pH was found in treatment K4 (4.26) Increase in carrageenan concentration followed by an increase in pH value;ii) Carrageenan Concentration Against Viscosity there is a very significant difference between treatments The less carrageenan concentration, the lower the viscosity or runny; iii) Carrageenan Concentration Against Sineresis: the carrageenan concentration given had a significant effect on the value of sineresis. The syneresis analysis of roasted jelly drink drinks ranged from 4.51 - 13.47 mg / minute The highest synergy was found in treatment K1. iv) The preferred concentration of texture, taste, aroma is concentration at 0.6%.

ABSTRAK                    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan tepung emping melinjo (Gnetum gnemon) pada pakan terhadap pH, kadar air, dan penyusutan daging ayam. Dalam percobaan dengan rancangan acak lengkap 4 perlakuan, 4 ulangan, satu unit eksperimen yang terdiri dari 5 ayam ayam yang dibagi secara acak. Keempat ulangan tersebut konsisten dengan empat perlakuan dari penelitian ini, masing-masing mengandung P0, P1, P2, dan P3 adalah 0% (kontrol), 5%, 10%, dan 15%. Melinjo emping flour (Gnetum gnemon) adalah sebagai pakan tambahan yang didapat dari pasaran. Variabel penelitian adalah: pH, kadar air, dan konsumsi daging ayam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kadar keripik leleh (Gnetum gnemon) tidak berpengaruh terhadap pH daging (P> 0,05) sedangkan pada kadar air dan penyusutan Daging ayam menunjukkan perbedaan pengaruh yang sangat signifikan (P <0,01). Nilai pH rata-rata pada perlakuan P0, P1, P2, dan P3 adalah 5,9; 5.9; 6.0 dan 5.9. Nilai rata-rata kadar air dalam perlakuan P0, P1, P2, dan P3 adalah 79,30; 84,90; 83.30, dan 83.40. Nilai rata-rata penyusutan daging ayam dalam perlakuan P0, P1, P2, dan P3 adalah 2,7; 4.2; 4,7 dan 4,7. Disimpulkan bahwa penambahan pati emping melinjo (Gnetum gnemon) berpengaruh pada kadar air dan penyusutan daging ayam. Namun, penggunaan tepung emping melinjo (Gnetum gnemon) tidak berkaryh pada pH daging ayam.    ABSTRACT                     This study aims to determine the effect of the use of emping melinjo flour (Gnetum gnemon) in a feed to pH, moisture content, and shrinkage of chicken meat. In an experiment with a completely randomized design of 4 treatments, 4 replications, one experimental unit consisting of 5 randomly divided chicken chickens. The four replications were consistent with four treatments from the study, each containing P0, P1, P2, and P3 were 0% (control), 5%, 10%, and 15%. Melinjo emping flour (Gnetum gnemon) is as an additional feed obtained from the market. The research variables were: pH, Water content, and Chicken Meat Meat Consumption. The results showed that the level of using melting chips (Gnetum gnemon) did not give effect to meat pH (P> 0,05) while in water content and shrinkage Chicken meat showed a very significant difference of influence (P <0.01). The mean pH value at treatment P0, P1, P2, and P3, was 5.9; 5.9; 6.0 and 5.9. The average value of water content in the treatment of P0, P1, P2, and P3 was 79.30; 84.90; 83.30, and 83.40. The mean value of shrinkage of chicken meat in treatment P0, P1, P2, and P3 was 2.7; 4.2; 4.7 and 4.7. It was concluded that the addition of emping melinjo starch (Gnetum gnemon) had an effect on water content and shrinkage of chicken meat. However, the use of emping melinjo flour (Gnetum gnemon) is not significant at the pH of chicken meat.

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of garlic-based herbs (combinatioan with shallot, Kaempferia galanga, ginger, betel leaf, turmeric, Curcuma zanthorrhiza, Alpinia galanga, lemongrass and coriander) solution as drinking water during broiler raising on the water content, pH and cooking loos value of the broiler meat. The research design used a CRD with 7 treatments and 3 replications. The dose of herbs ingredients used 25% of the daily drinking water requirement. The results showed a very siginificant difference (P<0.01) to water content and cooking loss but were not significant difference (P>0.05) to the pH value. The results of DMRT showed that the water content of broiler meat with treatment K2, K5, and K5 was significantly higher than K0, K1, K4 and K3 while the cooking loss value showed that the treatment at K0 and K6 was significantly higher than K2, K4, K5 and K1. It can be concluded that the giving of drinking water with garlic and Kaempferia galanga solution produces the lowest of water content (66,89%), pH (6,61) and cooking loss (32,23%) values, so it can be used as an additive in animal feed with to improving the quality of broiler meat.

The purpose of the research was to study the effects of dextrin powder with a different concentration on the physical, chemical, and microbiology properties of the product. The research was conducted using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with five treatments and four replications, namely the addition of dextrin filler with a concentration of 0% (T0), 2,5% (T1), 5% (T2), 7,5% (T3), and 10% (T4) (w/v). The quality of powdered goat milk kefir that is analyzed are physical, chemical, and microbiology properties. The data were analyzed using SPSS 26.0 application using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) followed by Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT). The test results show a significant difference in dextrin concentration (P<0.05) on solubility, total acid content, yield, water content, protein content, pH, total dissolved solids, carbohydrate, lactic acid bacteria, yeast, and microbe content of the product and shows no significant difference on the viscosity of the product. It can be concluded that the addition of dextrin can increase the yield, solubility, total dissolved solids, water content, carbohydrate, total microbe, lactic acid bacteria, and microbe but also decreased the pH value and the protein content, with the best treatment was the addition of dextrin of 10%.

Abstract Utilization of cocoa bean to be a derivative products in industrial is wide enough, that it is necessary to determine the priority of the processed products development. This study aimed to determine the prospective processed cocoa products with a system approach using Bayes method and assessed the potential of added value by using Hayami method. Based on several assessment criteria indicated that chocolate bar is the priority product that needs to be developed and followed by several other processed products. This development was able to produce the added value of Rp 135.000 per kg of cocoa beans. Result indicated that by processing the cocoa beans into chocolate bar could provide a considerable income for the businessman.

This study aims to gain influence the thickness and concentration variations affect the characteristics of sago binder physical properties of catfish jerky. As well as getting influence the thickness and concentration variations affect the level of binder sago joy panelists in terms of organoleptic test. Data were analyzed by analysis of variance using the Analysis Of Variance (ANOVA). If there is a significant difference followed by a further test of DMRT 5% level (physical properties). While the hedonic test performed using Kruskal Wallis analysis. Results uniformity analysis (ANOVA) showed catfish fillet thickness and concentration of sago affect the physical properties of the water content and the level of violence. Where catfish jerky using sago binder 5% and 10% significantly different. The use of sago binder 5% and 10% led to an increase in water content. Besides the addition of the binder resulted in increasing levels of violence catfish jerky. Based on the statistics found that the influence of the thickness and concentration of the binder sago aroma, flavor and color of the sixth jerky catfish were not significantly different. But the texture was significantly different.

Abstract Background Musculoskeletal pain (MSP) is recognized worldwide as a major cause of increased years lived with disability. In addition to known generic prognostic factors, illness perceptions (IPs) may have predictive value for poor recovery in MSP. We were interested in the added predictive value of baseline IPs, over and above the known generic prognostic factors, on clinical recovery from MSP. Also, it is hypothesized there may be overlap between IPs and domains covered by the Four-Dimensional Symptom Questionnaire (4DSQ), measuring distress, depression, anxiety and somatization. The aim of this study is twofold; 1) to assess the added predictive value of IPs for poor recovery and 2) to assess differences in predictive value for poor recovery between the Brief Illness Perception Questionnaire - Dutch Language Version (Brief IPQ-DLV) and the 4DSQ. Methods An eligible sample of 251 patients with musculoskeletal pain attending outpatient physical therapy were included in a multi-center longitudinal cohort study. Pain intensity, physical functioning and Global Perceived Effect were the primary outcomes. Hierarchical logistic regression models were used to assess the added value of baseline IPs for predicting poor recovery. To investigate the performance of the models, the levels of calibration (Hosmer-Lemeshov test) and discrimination (Area under the Curve (AUC)) were assessed. Results Baseline ‘Treatment Control’ added little predictive value for poor recovery in pain intensity [Odds Ratio (OR) 0.80 (Confidence Interval (CI) 0.66–0.97), increase in AUC 2%] and global perceived effect [OR 0.78 (CI 0.65–0.93), increase in AUC 3%]. Baseline ‘Timeline’ added little predictive value for poor recovery in physical functioning [OR 1.16 (CI 1.03–1.30), increase in AUC 2%]. There was a non-significant difference between AUCs in predictive value for poor recovery between the Brief IPQ-DLV and the 4DSQ. Conclusions Based on the findings of this explorative study, assessing baseline IPs, over and above the known generic prognostic factors, does not result in a substantial improvement in the prediction of poor recovery. Also, no recommendations can be given for preferring either the 4DSQ or the Brief IPQ-DLV to assess psychological factors.

BACKGROUND: Microsurgical flaps are widely used to treat complex traumatic wounds of upper and lower limbs. Few studies have evaluated whether the vascular changes in preoperative computed tomography angiography (CTA) influence the selection of recipient vessel and type of anastomosis and the microsurgical flaps outcomes including complications. OBJECTIVE: The aim of this study was to evaluate if preoperative CTA reduces the occurrence of major complications (revision of the anastomosis, partial or total flap failure, and amputation) of the flaps in upper and lower limb trauma, and to describe and analyze the vascular lesions of the group with CTA and its relationship with complications. METHODS: A retrospective cohort study was undertaken with all 121 consecutive patients submitted to microsurgical flaps for traumatic lower and upper limb, from 2014 to 2020. Patients were divided into two groups: patients with preoperative CTA (CTA+) and patients not submitted to CTA (CTA–). The presence of postoperative complications was assessed and, within CTA+, we also analyzed the number of patent arteries on CTA and described the arterial lesions. RESULTS: Of the 121 flaps evaluated (84 in the lower limb and 37 in the upper limb), 64 patients underwent preoperative CTA. In the CTA+ group, 56% of patients with free flaps for lower limb had complete occlusion of one artery. CTA+ patients had a higher rate of complications (p = 0.031), which may represent a selection bias as the most complex limb injuries and may have CTA indicated more frequently. The highest rate of complications was observed in chronic cases (p = 0.034). There was no statistically significant difference in complications in patients with preoperative vascular injury or the number of patent arteries. CONCLUSIONS: CTA should not be performed routinely, however, CTA may help in surgical planning, especially in complex cases of high-energy and chronic cases, since it provides information on the best recipient artery and the adequate level to perform the microanastomosis, outside the lesion area.

Some properties of paper sludge were analyzed, including water content, organic material content, pH value, fiber content, ash content ,C, H, S, N content and metal content of sludge in three sedimentation tanks.Besides,COD,SS, sludge concentration were analyzed and optical microscope photoes of sludge were got.The results showed that water content was high, organic material content was high, pH value of three sludges was alkalescent, metal elements were varied, lots of bacteria in wet sludge. From the first tank to the third one,COD and SS are gradually diminishing The research of sludge’s properties may be helpful to sludge treatment.

AbstractA study on the epidemiology of bovine trypanosomosis was conducted from September 2006 to April 2007 in six villages of the Gimbi district in west Wollega zone of Ethiopia. The prevalence of the disease, the apparent densities and distribution of tsetse and other biting flies in two seasons, the dry and rainy, were determined. The results of a questionnaire survey from 80 farmers revealed that trypanosomosis was a major health problem affecting animals and impeding agricultural activities.A total of 568 blood samples were collected from randomly selected animals (280 animals in rainy and 288 in dry season) and revealed the presence of Trypanosoma congolense Broden, 1904 and T. vivax Zieman, 1905 in the area. Trypanosoma congolense was the dominant species that accounted for 66.2% of the infections. The mean packed cell volume (PCV) concentrations were 22.77% (95% CI =19.99-21.55) in parasitaemic and 25.25% (95% CI=24.88-25.61) in aparasitaemic animals with a significant difference (P<0.005). There was a significant (P<0.012) difference in trypanosome infection between age groups of cattle, being higher in adults. The overall prevalence of trypanosomosis was 12.5%, while the disease prevalence was higher during the rainy season (15 %) than the dry season (10.1%). In three villages of lowland areas (below 1600 meter above sea level), a higher prevalence was recorded 20.9% and 7.9% as compared to three villages of midland areas (≥ 1600 meter above sea level) 11.8% and 8.3% in late rainy and dry season, respectively.A fly-survey was conducted by using 80 monoconical pyramidal traps and revealed that two tsetse species, namely Glossina morsitans submorsitans Newstead and Glossina tachinoides Westwood were found along with other biting flies (Tabanus, Haematopota and Stomoxys species). Higher numerical catches of Glossina were recorded in late rainy season and the apparent density was positively correlated (r=0.5171) with the prevalence of infection.

Miscanthus is a highly productive, rhizomatous, C4 perennial grass that should be considered as an excellent active carbon precursor. This paper compares the charcoal characterization and chemical composition between M. sinensis and M. floridulus. Species differed in water content, hot water extract, 1% NaOH extract, organic solvent extract, cellulose, lignin and ash. Carbonization temperatures have effects on charcoal yields of Miscanthus, which ranged from 23.5% to 48.0% for M. sinensis and 11.3% to 37.2% for M. floridulus. Water content, charcoal density, pH value, and specific surface area of charcoal characterization varied between two species of Miscanthus. The specific surface area increased with the increase of carbonization temperature. The highest specific surface area of M. sinensis and M. floridulus was 351.74 m2g−1and 352.74 m2g−1, respectively, when the carbonization temperature was 800°C.
