Pain in labor is a manifestation of the contraction (shortening) of the uterine muscle, and it was caused by stretching of the uterine and cervical segments as well as the presence of uterine muscle ischemia. According to WHO (World Health Organization) in 2015, it was estimated that every year 830 women died from complications of pregnancy and childbirth. One method that was very effective in dealing with pain is effleurage massage which was massage technique using the palms of the fingers with a circular motion pattern on the abdomen, waist or thighs. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of effleurage massage on the intensity of first-stage labor pain in maternal mothers at Linez clinic of Gunungsitoli in 2018. This type of research was guasy Experiment research design with non equivalent control group design. In this design, the grouping of sample members in experimental group and the control group was not random, using wilcoxon test. The population in this study were mothers in first pregnancy as many as 52 people, with a total sample of 20 experimental groups and 20 control groups. The data used were primary data using observation sheets. From the research results, obtained p value 0.0001, it can be concluded that there was significant effect between experimental group and control group. It was hoped that midwives will update their midwifery service and practices such as participating in the latest midwifery training, so that they can increase their knowledge and apply it when conducting childbirth care as effort to reduce labor pain. World Health Organization (WHO), cervical cancer is the number two cause of death in the world for women from all existing cancer. Every two minutes a woman dies of this disease. This cancer attack at an early stage does not cause any symptoms. That is why, why does this type of cancer fall into the category of the silent killer. One of the promotive and preventive efforts in women of childbearing age as primary prevention can be through the provision of health education about cervical cancer using the Acetic Acid Inspection (IVA) method. The purpose of this study is to find out whether there is an influence of health education about IVA on WUS motivation in cervical cancer detection in health centers. Putri Ayu Jambi. This type of quantitative research with non randomized pretest-posttest with control group design, with purposive sampling technique totaling 22 WUS, 11 people as controls and 11 experimental people. The instrument in the form of questionnaires was analyzed by univariate and bivariate Paired Test t-test, which was conducted from April to July 2018.  The results of the study revealed that of the 22 WUSs studied, the average motivation of the pretest in the experimental group was 41.1818 and the control group was 39.9091, while the results of the posttest of the experimental group after being given counseling and leaflets increased by 42.9091 with p-value 0.034. There is an influence of health education about IVA tests on WUS motivation in detecting cervical cancer. It is suggested that the Puskesmas can improve activities in planning disease control programs, especially carrying out counseling and counseling both in the puskesmas building and in the working area of the puskesmas by involving cadres in their environment so that WUS is moved to take the IVA examination.

Pain during labor is caused by the first stage of labor in which contractions cause dilation and thinning of the cervix and uterine ischemia due to contraction of the myometrial arteries. These contractions cause the opening of the cervix to begin labor. Various attempts are made to reduce labor pain, both pharmacologically and non-pharmacological. The non-pharmacological method applied is a distraction with birth balls. The research aims to prove the effectiveness of the use of birthing ball on the reduction of labor pain in the first stage of labor in the active phase. This study used an experimental research design with a pretest-posttest control group design. The research sample was 20 maternity mothers at the Lompoe Health Center, who received treatment and 20 people as control samples. It applied the purposive sampling technique. The instrument of observation was the pain scale using the Faces Pain Rating Scale. Data processing using the Wilcoxon-test to determine the effect of the treatment given. Based on the results of the bivariate analysis showed that the p-value is <0,001. In conclusion, there is an influence of using the birthing ball to reduce the level of pain in the first stage of labor in the active mother.

BACKGROUND: Dysmenorrhea is pain during the menstrual period caused by uterine muscle cramps. The Dysmenorrhea prevalence in Indonesia is categorized as high at 64.25%. The dysmenorrhea symptom could be very disruptive and even decrease women’s productivity. Related to this problem, abdominal stretching is one of the alternatives to reduce pain from dysmenorrhea. AIM: This research was aimed to find out the effect of abdominal stretching on the pain intensity of menstrual cramps. METHODS: It was a quasi-experimental research with a pre-test post-test control group design. The sample was 130 female adolescents that were taken by total sampling. The sample was divided into two groups, which were the intervention group and the control group. RESULTS: The research finding, with a 0.000 (p < 0.005) significance value was obtained by using the Wilcoxon test. CONCLUSION: It means abdominal stretching exercise is significantly effective to reduce pain intensity from menstrual cramps (dysmenorrhea) in female adolescents. It is suggested to implement abdominal stretching as nursing care for menstrual cramps.

Although labor pain is a physiological process but it was feel severe and longer for primiparas.  Because of a cervical effacement earlier than dilation, and no experience of labor can affect women feel anxiety and fear of labor process, it cause increasing of pain. The non-pharmacological method was cheaper, simple, effective, and no side effect can help women to control of labor pain by herself or another person. The combination of lavender aromatherapy and effleurage can increase of relaxation of uterus contraction and between of it, so labor pain decreasing. The aim of this study was to determine difference effect of the combination of lavender aromatherapy and effleurage with breathing relaxation on pain intensity during labor among primiparas. This study used pre-experiment design with Pretest – Post-test  Control Group design. The consecutive sample of 32 laboring women divided to two groups of the intervention and control group. The pain scale measured by NRS questionnaire. The results showed that mean of pain scale before being given intervention is 7.25. It was the same of two groups. The average of pain scale decreasing to 5.25 in the intervention group and to 6.25 in the control group. The result of t-test dependent obtained p-value = 0.000, so meaning that two of interventions was able to decrease of the labor pain. The result of  t-test independent obtained p-value 0.004, so meaning that there was significantly difference of pain scale during labor of the intervention group to compare with control group. Suggested to health care who provide services at labor room to give a combination of lavender aromatherapy and effleurage as a non-pharmacology therapy alternative besides breathing relaxation to decrease of pain labor in primiparas. Keywords:  Aromatherapy, Labor, Massage, Pain, Relaxation

World Health Organization (WHO) for almost 30 years the rate of births with caesarea section became 10% to 15% of the delivery process exist in developing countries. In Indonesia, the results of basic health research in 2013 showed births with a caesarean section of 15.3% of the sample of 20,591 surveyed from 33 provinces. Based on statistical data that researchers obtained from the Medical Record Room of the Sembiring General Hospital, the number of patients with sectio caesarea from January to September in 2019 totaled 1,600 patients. Nursing problems that often arise in post sectio caesarea cases are painful sensory and emotional experiences that arise due to actual tissue damage. The nurse's independent action to control the pain felt by the patient is to do pain management with non-pharmacological techniques, namely progressive relaxation. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of progressive relaxation on decreasing pain intensity in post sectio caesarea patients. This study used a quasi-experimental design method with a non equivalent control group design. The sampling technique was 32 respondents, 16 intervention groups and 16 control groups. This study used a T-Test. The results of this study indicate the P-value (0.839) > α (0.05). The conclusion of this study is that there is no effectiveness of progressive relaxation on the decrease in pain intensity in post sectio caesarea patients in the hybrid room of Sembiring General Hospital. For further researchers to be able to have the same research the same but with different variables in order to get more varied and better results.

Parturition pain is a problem that is felt by a mother during labor that causes excessive fear and anxiety to the mother and her family so that intervention is needed in dealing with pain. The purpose of this study to analyze the effectiveness of combination of aromatherapy and back-massage on parturition pain during the first stage of active phase of normal labor. This study used a quasi-experimental design with two groups with a sample of 60 mothers. This research was conducted at a community health center that provides maternity services in Pontianak City. Pre-test and post-test nonequivalent control group design was conducted where the researcher did not do randomization. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon test. The test results showed that the intervention group had a value of ρ 0,0001 <0.05 and the control group produced a value of ρ 0.001 <0.05. This means there are differences in the level of pain before and after treatment. Likewise, the Mann-Whitney U-Test statistical test results showed a value of ρ 0.001 <0.05, which means that there are differences in pain intensity between the group of mothers who were given a combination of aromatherapy and back massage and the other group of mothers who got deep breathing relaxation during the process of labor. The combination of aromatherapy and back massage is effective in reducing pain in normal labor in the first phase of the active phase. This therapy is expected to be used as an alternative intervention for a mother in active phase of labor, especially to reduce the intensity of pain in the first phase of the active phase of normal labor.

Pain in labor is a manifestation of uterine contractions in the first stage of labor that can cause fatigue so that it causes a decrease in uterine contractions. Many methods are offered to reduce pain during labor, non pharmacologically including endorphine massage has been proven to increase the ability of mothers to tolerate pain during childbirth. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of endorphine massage on pain intensity scale in first-time normal mothers in PMB Bengkulu City in 2020. This study used quasi-experimental designs with the pretest-posttest Non Equivalent Control Group. The intervention group the endorphine massage was given to first stage mothers, while the control group was given deep breath relaxation techniques. Total sample are 30 people, divided into 2 groups, each each of which amounted to 15 people. The statistical analysis used was the Wilcoxon test and the Mann-Whitney Test. The results of thetest Wilcoxon showed that the average value of pain intensity in the first stage before and after the intervention was 7.53 and it became 6.00 with a p-value = 0.000 (<0.05). whereas in the control group the average value was 7.20 and after being treated it became 6.00 with a p-value = 0.001 (<0.05) which means that there was an influence of endorphine massage on the intensity scale of pain in first-time normal primipara delivery mothers in PMB Bengkulu City. It is expected that midwives can pay more attention to maternal needs for comfort by applying endorphine massage in the control of labor pain. Keywords:Labor, Labor Pain, Endorphine Massage
