Abstract The article presents and compares the general situation of public libraries and readership in Finland and Poland at the beginning of the 21st century, based on selected statistical data on the topic. In order to correctly understand the library policy of Finland - a country in which it is impossible to implement cultural policy without taking into account the geographical and natural conditions of individual regions - the most important data on the country are presented and compared with data on Poland. Statistical schedules, online reports on the activity of public libraries, libraries’ homepages, legislative acts and professional library science magazines, among others, served as source materials for the conducted analysis. The comparative method, documentation analysis method and statistical method were used to achieve the assumed objectives. Considering the limitations on the article size, a decision was made to select a few specific aspects of the topic for analysis - the most important ones in the author’s opinion. Among others, these included information on public libraries made available in both countries, contemporary government policies implemented towards the institutions that the author is interested in, conducting qualitative and quantitative research, generating reports on the research, as well as the governments’ compliance with international and national standards of the quality of library collections, personnel and services.

Quality traits of three broccoli cultivars, which were grown for autumn crop was determined: ‘Chevalier’ F1, ‘Milady’ F1 (cultivars of Dutch origin) and ‘Cezar’ F1 (of Polish origin). Immediately after harvest sensory quality of broccoli was evaluated, using the quantitative descriptive analysis method (QDA). In ‘brainstorming’ session there were chosen 14 attributes (profiles) concerning smell, texture, taste / flavour. Overall quality impression was also scored and hedonic test of broccoli liking was performed. Other quality traits determined were: antioxidant activity, total carotenoids content, vitamin C content, colour parameters in CIE L*a*b* system. These traits were determined separately for florets and stems of broccoli plants, both of which are usable parts of this vegetable. Results showed that investigated cultivars differed in respect of quality traits concerning sensory attributes, antioxidant activity, carotenoids content, vitamin C content and colour parameters. Results showed also that florets of broccoli performed higher antioxidant activity than stems. Carotenoids content in broccoli cultivars was much higher in florets than in stems, but vitamin C content was on similar level in florets and stems of the plants. Florets and stems of all broccoli cultivars differed much in respect of colour parameters – lightness, greenness and yellowness.

We need a handle on life, that is religion or belief that recognizes the existence of an all-powerful substance, whereas in daily life a person is required to maintain, improve, and improve the quality of faith and piety in the creator, to achieve that there are all several ways one of which is through the world of Sufism or commonly known as the mystical world. For attainment in the mystical world it can be done by way of meditation or spiritual practice. The pinnacle of the mystical world is mahaabah or divine love where these are the highest levels of attainment towards God. In this paper the author examine the theory of divine love (mahabbah) from the Sufi women who first expressed her love to God, namely Rabi'ah Adawiyah. This paper uses the type of library research, while the approach used is historical, philosophical. Data collection is done by the documentation method and analyzed by descriptive analysis method. According to Rabi'ah love is love that has no strings attached to it and does not expect a reward in the form of either reward or liberation of the law, but what is sought is only doing God's will and perfecting it.
