Depression is a mood disorder that is generally characterized by hopelessness, excessive helplessness, and lack of enthusiasm for life. Starting from stress that is not overcome, then a person can fall into a phase of depression. This study aims to look at the effect of providing music therapy in reducing depression in the elderly before and after being given a commitment. To achieve this goal, this study uses a quasi-experimental method (Quasi Experiment). The type of research design used is Quasi Experiment with one group pretest and posttest design. The sampling technique was purposive sampling where participants based on population criteria obtained a sample of 16 people. Data collection methods using tests with a scale measuring instrument namely Geriatric Depression Scale (GDS) consisting of 30 item questions, observation methods and interview methods .. Based on data analysis it was concluded that the results obtained were Man Whitney Test U = 0.500 with a value of p = 0.001 ( p <0.01) where the mean ranks on the gain score is 12.44 and the sum of ranks is 99.50, this shows the difference in effectiveness of the effects of music therapy before and after treatment and to test the difference in levels of depression before and after being given music therapy using Wilcoxon Sign Rank test analysis . the results obtained z value = -2.539 with a value of p = 0.11 (p <0.01) so that it can be concluded that there are differences in changes in the level of depression in the elderly before and after given treatment.

ABSTRACTBackground : Joint flexibility decreases in old age due to a degenerative process resulting in changes in joints, connective tissue and cartilage in the elderly. Decreasing flexibility is also due to reduced elasticity of muscle fibers, where connective tissue in muscle fibers increases (Mariyam, 2008).Objective : The aim of this study was to analyze the effect of active exercise (ROM) on the lower extremities on increasing the flexibility of the knee joint in the elderlyMethods : This study using a quasi-experimental approach with One group pre-test and post-test design. The sampling technique uses the Slovin method of 42 people, obtained a sample of 25 elderly. Exercise is done twice a day for 8 days. Measurements were made on day 1, day 4 and day 8 of the study using a Goniometer measuring instrument..Result : The results of measurement I average of the right knee joint 117.52o, measurement II = 122.24, measurement III = 126, 36o. From the analysis with Paired simple t-Test between the measurements I and II, it was found that the different test measurements I and II t count value was equal to -1.908 with 0.068. Because sig 0.05, it can be concluded that Ho is accepted, meaning that the average angle of ROM before and after training is the same (not different). In the different test measurements II and III the value of t count is equal to -2.152 with sig 0.042.Conclusion : Because sig 0.05, it can be concluded that Ho is rejected, meaning that there is a difference in ROM angle after training between days 4 to 8 with the first day to day 4. Thus it can be stated that active ROM exercises affect the angle of ROM of the knee joint elderly after exercise ROM between day 4 to day 8. Keywords: active ROM exercise, flexibility of knee joint, elderly.

Samples were taken using a purposive sampling technique of 53 elderly people living in the Banyuwangi Tresna Werdha Social Home. Analysis of data using the Wilcoxon test with a value of p <0.05. Wilcoxon analysis test results obtained p or (Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) = 0,000, p <0.05. These results research showed there was a difference before and after given classical music therapy in elderly patients with hypertension. Then it can be concluded that the delivery of music therapy in patients with hypertension will help in lowering blood pressure so that music therapy (Vivaldi-the four-season) becomes a non-pharmacological solution both in service and self-handling.

Background. The prevalence of Gout Arthritis in the world is 34.2%. Gout Arthritis is characterized by an increase in uric acid levels >7.2 mg/dl in men and >6 mg/dl in women. This disease can be treated pharmacologically and non-pharmacologically, one of which is bay leaf and red ginger. Research purposes. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of boiled water of bay leaves and red ginger on reducing uric acid levels in patients with gout arthritis. Methods. This research method is a pre-experimental static-group comparison design. The sampling technique used purposive sampling. A sample of 60 respondents was divided into two groups of 30 respondents each, group A intervention boiled bay leaf water for 7 days, group B intervention boiled red ginger water for 7 days. Both groups were observed uric acid levels before and after the procedure using the GCU tool. Result: The results of the paired t-test analysis of group A p = 0.000 and group B p = 0.005 p value <0.05 which means there is a difference between before and after intervention A and intervention B were given. The results of the Independent t-test analysis showed that there was a difference in uric acid levels. after intervention A and intervention B with p = 0.004. The results showed that boiled water of bay leaves was more effective than boiled water of red ginger in reducing uric acid levels. Conclusion. Boiled water of bay leaves is more effective than boiled water of red ginger in reducing uric acid levels in gout arthritis patients
