Respiratory failule is the cause of high morbidity and high mortality at the Intensive Care Unit. The condition that leads to respiratory failule is airway obstruction, including obstruction on endotracheal tube. The airway obstruction handling due to the accumulation of secretions in the endotrackel tube is done through suction. The endotracheal tube suction can give effects such as oxygen saturation reduction as much as greater 5%. The objective of this resarch is to knowing the corelation intensity of suctionaction with changes in oxygen saturation levels in ventilator- installed patients the intensive care unit of general hospital of Bogor City. This type of research is quantitative, using analytical descriptive approach. The analysis technique used in this research is using cross sectional method. How to sample this research with total sampling technique with the number of 42 respondents who installed ventilator in Intensive Care Unit room. Data collection was obtained through an observation sheet assisted by 5 nurses on duty. Data analysis used is univariate and bivariate (Chi Square). From 42 respondents, there were 20 (47,6%) respondents with the intensity of suction action insufficient and 35 (83,3%) respondents in normal oxygen saturation range, where p value = 0,01. This means Ha accepted and Ho rejected, meaning there is a significant relationship between the two variables.

Background: Hepatitis B, which is caused by the Hepatitis B virus (HBV), is a global health problem that has resulted in high morbidity and mortality with knowledge and awareness about the occurrence and mode of transmissions relatively low among the populace. Therefore, this study examined knowledge on the mode of transmission and preventions of hepatitis B among undergraduate students in Lagos, Nigeria. Methods: The cross-sectional descriptive research was used, and a multi-stage sampling technique was adopted to select three hundred respondents which comprised male and female from three tertiary institutions in Lagos state in 2019. Hepatitis B Knowledge Questionnaire with a reliability index of 0.74 was used for data collection. The descriptive statistics of frequency count and percentages was used to analyse the demographic characteristics of respondents while the chi-square test was used to determine associations between categorical variables Results: The results revealed that a high proportion of the respondents had poor knowledge about the transmission and prevention of hepatitis B.. The result revealed that the p-value ≤ 0.05 was considered statistically insignificant. Therefore, the study revealed that there is no significant relationship between gender and hepatitis B Conclusion: A critical level of public awareness and vaccination coverage, particularly among students, is essential to decrease Lagos' burden.

Background: The ICU is a room for critical patients who require continuous airway breathing circulation support. This also affects the family psychology in the form of stress and anxiety. One of the urgent but often overlooked factor in this case is that the families of patients in the ICU need social support and this is expected to be provided by the nurses. Purpose: To examine the relationship between social support nurses and the level of stress and anxiety of the patient's family in ICU. Methods: This study was an observational analytic study with a cross sectional approach. The population in this study were the families of patients who were treated in the critical care room from May to June 2019. The sampling technique was simple random and 95 respondents met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The instrument used to measure social support is the CCFNI (Critical Care Family Need Information) while to measure the level of stress and anxiety using DASS 42. Both of these instruments have been tested for validity and reliability. Results: The results showed that the majority of respondents had a Social Support Fulfilled (66%), majority of respondents had a normal stress level (55%) and the majority of respondents had normal anxiety levels (34%). The results of the Wilcoxon test statistical test showed that social support with a stress level of p value <0.001, and social support with anxious level showed p<0.01. Conclusion: Nurse's social support is needed by the families of patients who are admitted to the intensive care unit.

Handling for airway obstruction due to excessive accumulation of secretions can be done with suction, suction is done by inserting suction catheter tube into endotracheal tube or tracheostomy which aims to liberate airway. Endotracheal suction in critically ill patients can cause increased intracranial pressure, brain swelling and systemic hypoxemia may even lead to death. The easiest way to find out hypoxemia is by looking at the patient's oxygen saturation of peripheral oxygen saturation is a presentation of hemoglobin binds with oxygen in the arteries with normal values between 95-100%.This research aims to analyze changes in oxygen saturation levels of patients before, during and after the suction endotracheal tube performed in Intensive Care Unit Ulin Banjarmasin Hospital. This research method is quantitative with comparative design. The population in this research are all patients who had endotracheal tube and suction was done, the sample in the research are 25 respondents with Probability sampling technique, analyzed by paired T test. The results of this research at the time of 1 "-3" average oxygen saturation change of 0-1%, while 4"- 6" on average by 2-3% and at 7 "-10" on average by 2-5% . Paired T-test results showed there was a change in oxygen saturation level in adult patients performed endotracheal tube suction in Intensive Care Unit Ulin Banjarmasin Hospital.

ABSTRACT Objective: The aim of this study was to compare the incidence of different criteria of maternal near miss in women admitted to an obstetric intensive care unit and their sensitivity and specificity in identifying cases that have evolved to morbidity. Method: A cross-sectional analytical epidemiological study was conducted with women admitted to the intensive care unit of the Maternity School Assis Chateaubriand in Ceará, Brazil. The Chi-square test and odds ratio were used. Results: 560 records were analyzed. The incidence of maternal near miss ranged from 20.7 in the Waterstone criteria to 12.4 in the Geller criteria. The maternal near-miss mortality ratio varied from 4.6:1 to 7.1:1, showing better index in the Waterstone criteria, which encompasses a greater spectrum of severity. The Geller and Mantel criteria, however, presented high sensitivity and low specificity. Except for the Waterstone criteria, there was an association between the three other criteria and maternal death. Conclusion: The high specificity of Geller and Mantel criteria in identifying maternal near miss considering the World Health Organization criteria as a gold standard and a lack of association between the criteria of Waterstone with maternal death.
