A woman immediately after giving birth to a child is called Sutika. Various Acharya's have mentioned Sutika Kala as a very important period because the mother is prone to many complications following the delivery, where a lot of Rakta and Kleda are lost in the process of delivery leaving her vulnerable for various disorders. As we know Vata fills the Rikta Sthana and causes various disorders, in a similar way Sutika is very much prone to Vata disor- ders. Mainly we come across disorders like inadequacy of breast milk and Sutika Makkala (pain). Sthanya is very important in the growth and development of the newborn. It enhances the immunity of the child. Breast milk is babies specific hence one should adopt measures to improve lactation instead of depending on supplementary feeds. Another important condition is Sutika Makkala which is caused due to vitiation of Vata, and shows symptoms like severe discomfort, pain below the umbilical and bladder region, abdomen and cardiac region. At times the pain is so severe that a prickly sensation with a possibility of tearing of bowel or its perforation. These are associated with flatulence and retention of urine. In these above conditions, Vajra Kanjika is of utmost benefit. We get the reference of Vajrakanjika in Yogaratnakara in Ksheera Dosha Chikitsa Adhyaya. Vajra Kanjika contains the drugs like Pip- pali, Pippali mula, Chavya, Shunti, Yawanika, both Jeeraka’s, both Haridra’s, Vida and Souvarchala Lavana. It is indicated in Amavata, it is Vrishya, suppresses Kapha and Vata, increases appetite, cures Makkala Shula and in- creases the quantity of milk.In this article, an attempt is made to understand the probable mode of action of Vajra Kanjika in Sutika, Sutika Makkala and Sthanya kshaya. Feeding and eating are essential to life. As the infant grows into a toddler, the child goes through transitions with feeding, starting with breast milk or formula, transitioning to complementary feeding between the ages of 4 and 6 months, and then advancing to table foods. It is important to provide adequate nutrition to meet the growing needs of the child from a macronutrient and micronutrient standpoint through infancy to childhood. Throughout this time, anthropometric measurements are obtained to assess proper growth. Feeding is a dynamic part of a child’s life that varies at each stage of childhood, which comes with challenges such as avoiding choking hazards, preventing potential food allergies, providing a varied diet to meet macronutrient and micronutrient needs, and supporting advancement in textures for appropriate development of feeding skills and avoiding issues with picky eating. Providing proper nutrition from quality, quantity, and texture standpoints at each stage of childhood is essential to ensure adequate nutrition to promote healthy and expected growth and development.   This review contains 4 figures, 10 tables and 43 references Key words: breast milk, complementary feeding, food, food safety, formula, growth, infant, micronutrients, neophobia, nutrition, oral health, physical activity, toddler

Kata Kunci : ASI, Ruang LaktasiFACTORS THAT INFLUENCE THE USE OF LAKTATION ROOM IN PRIMARY HEALTH CARE GUNUNG PATI  SEMARANGABSTRACTBreastfeeding is a physiological process to provide nutrition to the baby. Breast milk is the ideal nutrition for babies to optimally support the health, growth and development of babies. Breast milk has a complete energy and nutritional composition for infant growth and development, especially early in life. In the industrialization era of breastfeeding activity has decreased significantly. A working mother is the reason not to breastfeed. This condition causes the decreasing number of nursing mothers in Indonesia in the last 5 years. The achievement of low breastfeeding rates has affected the coverage rate of exclusive breastfeeding in 2014 to only about 27.5%. Therefore the Indonesian government considers it necessary to improve the exclusive breastfeeding program by the issuance of Government Regulation No. 33 of 2012 on Exclusive Breastfeeding. The Government has determined that every provider of health facilities and workplaces and public place providers should provide lactation chambers in accordance with established provisions and standard procedures. The type of research used is explanatory research, which aims to test a hypothesis of the relationship between variables. The approach using cross sectional design with a sample of 99 people. Data analysis using univariable and bivariable analysis. The result of chi square test of age factor with Lactation Space utilization got p value 0,06 so there is no correlation between age factor with Lactation Room utilization whereas chi square test of education factor, perception and motivation with Lactation space utilization got p value 0,05 So there is a relationship between educational factors, perceptions and motivation with the utilization of Lactation Space. The suggestion is to socialize the utilization of lactation space. Keywords: Breast milk, Lactation Room

Lactation is an energy-demanding physiological process for the maternal organism and life-giving for the offspring. Likewise, exercise is an energy-demanding process. This review addresses the Compatibility of exercise during lactation. Human studies suggest no detrimental effect of exercise during lactation on milk composition and volume, infant growth and development, or maternal health. Studies also demonstrate improved cardiovascular fitness in lactating, exercising women and suggest a quicker return to pre-pregnancy body weight and a more positive sense of well-being, compared to sedentary controls. Findings from rodent studies, although of questionable value for humans, have generally shown no detrimental influence of exercise during pregnancy and lactation on pup growth and development. To date, findings suggest that exercise and lactation are compatible activities. Key words: maternal health, infant growth, breast milk composition, breast milk volume, cardiovascular fitness

Breast milk is the main diet of infants as it provides all the nutrients for normal growth and development of a baby from the time of birth to the first 6 months of life. This dynamic fluid provides a diverse array of bioactive substances to the developing infant during critical periods of brain, immune system and gut development. In Ayurveda though breast milk is vital for children and infants but it may be vitiated with Dosha (regulatory functional factors of the body) due to the faulty lifestyle of the Dhatri (wet-nurse or mother) which may lead to various type of morbidities in child according to predominance of Dosha.
