AbstractDiabetes melitus is a metabolic disease characterized by high blood glucose levels in the body, caused by abnormalitized in insulin secretion. One of the non-pharmacological method to reduce blood sugar level is progressive muscle relaxation therapy. This study aims to identify the effect of progressive muscle relaxation techniques in lowering blood sugar. A literature review of studies of progressive muscle relaxation therapy in reducing blood sugar publishedin 2011-2020 was conducted. The average number of respondents was 26 male and female responden with and average age of 55-60. The results showed that progressive muscle relaxation therapy was able to control blood glucose among diabetic. This study concludes that progressive muscle relaxation therapy effectively reduce blood sugar levels in patients with diabetes melitus. The findings suggest that progressive muscle relaxation therapy can be used as non-pharmacological therapy to lower blood sugar levels.Keywords: Diabetes mellitus; Progressive muscle relaxation AbstrakDiabetes melitus merupakan suatu penyakit degeneratif yang bermasalah pada sistem metabolik ditandai dengan meningkatnya kadar gula darah dalam tubuh dan disebabkan karena kelainan sekresi insulin. Pada pasien diabetes melitus akan mengalami peningkatan kadar gula darah dalam tubuh, salah satu cara non farmakologis yang dapat dilakukan untuk menurunkan kadar gula darah pada pasien diabetes melitus yaitu dengan terapi relaksasi otot progresif. Tujuan dari Karya Tulis Ilmiah ini yaitu untuk mengetahui gambaran dari pengaruh teknik relaksasi otot progresif terhadap penurunan kadar gula darah pada pasien diabetes melitus. Metode yang dilakukan dengan mencari tiga jurnal penelitian tentang pengaruh terapi relaksasi otot progresif terhadap penurunan kadar gula darah pada pasien diabetes melitus terbit pada tahun 2011-2020. Hasil analisa karakteristik responden dari ketiga jurnal menunjukan jumlah responden rata-rata 26 responden laki-laki dan perempuan dengan usia rata-rata 55-60 tahun. Hasil yang didapatkan setelah dilakukan terapi relaksasi otot progresif kadar gula darah pasien menjadi terkontrol. Simpulan dari karya tulis ilmiah ini yaitu terapi relaksasi otot progresif efektif terhadap penurunan kadar gula darah pada pasien diabetes melitus. Saran bagi perawat atau penderita diabetes melitus terapi relaksasi otot progresif dapat digunakan sebagai terapi non farmakologis untuk menurunkan kadar gula darah pada pasien diabetes melitus. The prevalence of diabetes occuring in 2015 is 9,3% and is expected to increase annualy. Type 2 diabetes mellitus occurs because insulin resistance, which glucose fails to enter the cell, usually occurs in the age above 30 years. One of the modalitas therapy that can be done is progressive muscle relaxation. The purpose of the study was to the identify the effect of progressive muscle relaxation therapy on the decrease in blood sugar levels in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus at hospital GRANDMED Lubuk Pakam. This research method used pre-experimental design with one group pretest-posttest. A sample size of 10 respondents selected by sampling technique of non-probability sampling type consecutive sampling. The result of paired hypothesis test of t-test sample at significance level 95%obtained p Value < α, that is 0,001 indicates that there is influence of progressive muscle relaxation therapy to decrease blood glucose level in type 2 diabetes mellitus patient. Conclusion obtained there is significant difference between blood glucose levels before and after progressive muscle relaxation therapy. It is sugessted that health care institutions need to implement new policies related to the application of progressive muscle relaxation therapy.

ABSTRAK Menurut International Diabetes Federation (IDF) (2015), saat ini Indonesia merupakan negara dengan urutan ke-7 jumlah penderita diabetes terbanyak di dunia yaitu sebanyak 10,0 juta jiwa, dan pada tahun 2020 diperkirakan penderita diabetes di Indonesia akan naik ke nomor enam terbanyak di dunia dengan jumlah penderita 16,2 juta jiwa, dan dilaporkan bahwa kota-kota besar seperti Jakarta, Surabaya, sudah hampir 10 % penduduknya menderita diabetes. Diabetes merupakan penyakit kronis yang serius dan terjadi baik saat pankreas tidak menghasilkan cukup insulin (hormon yang mengatur glukosa darah) maupun jika tubuh tidak dapat menggunakan insulin yang dihasilkan secara efektif. pengobatan bisa dilakukan secara non farmakologi, diantaranya dengan menggunakan terapi pijat refleksi. Tujuan setelah penyuluhan dan demonstrasi, diharapkan pemberian pijat refleksi dapat untuk menurunkan glukosa darah. Adapun kegiatan yang dilakukan berupa penyuluhan menggunakan leaflet dan demonstrasi terapi pijat refleksi. Terdapat penurunan gula darah pada klien diabetes melitus setelah pemberian terapi pijat refleksi selama 3 hari di Tiyuh Dayaasri Tumijajar Tulang bawang barat. Dari evaluasi hari terakhir pemeriksaan kadar glukosa darah terjadi penurunan yaitu antara sebelum diberikan terapi dan sesudah diberikan terapi, diperoleh data pada nilai glukosa darah sebelum diberikan asuhan keperawatan yaitu hari pertama GDS: 215 mg/dl, setelah diberikan intervensi pijat refleksi selama kurun waktu 3 hari dan di beri waktu istirahat selama 4 hari tetapi tetap dalam pengontrolan pola makan, untuk memberikan efek rileks kemudian di cek gula darah kembali di hari ke 7 (tujuh),  dari hasil pemeriksaan didapatkan yaitu GDS: 189 mg/dl. Saran agar dapat menerapkan terapi pijat refleksi kepada penderita diabetes melitus dan sebagai pengobatan alternatif untuk menjaga kestabilan glukosa darah, untuk mengurangi efek samping penggunaan obat jangka panjang. Diabetes is a serious chronic disease and occurs both when the pancreas does not produce enough insulin (a hormone that regulates blood glucose) or if the body cannot use insulin produced effectively. treatment can be non-pharmacologically, including by reflexology therapy. The purpose after counseling and demonstration, is expected to provide reflexology to reduce blood glucose. The activities carried out in the form of counseling used leaflets and demonstration of reflexology therapy. There is a decrease in blood sugar in diabetes mellitus clients after giving reflexology therapy for 3 days at Tiyuh Dayaasri Tumijajar West Tulang Bawang. From evaluation of the last day,examination of blood glucose levels there was a decrease between before being given therapy and after being given therapy, obtained data on blood glucose values before being given nursing care that is the first day of GDS: 215 mg / dl, after being given a reflexology intervention for a period of 3 days and given a rest period of 4 days but still in control of eating patterns, to provide a relaxing effect then checked for blood sugar again on day 7 (seven), from the examination results obtained namely GDS: 189 mg / dl. Suggestions for adjust reflexology therapy to people with diabetes mellitus and alternative treatment to maintain blood glucose stability, to reduce the side effects of long-term drug use. Background: Various complications caused by causing diabetes mellitus patients to undergo treatment at the Hospital to overcome the complaints that arise. This causes the patient to experience stress physically and psychologically. Objective: To explain the effect of progressive muscle relaxation on the stress response, blood glucose levels, and quality of life in patients with diabetes mellitus. Method: This systematic review used the PRISMA approach. The database used in this study were Scopus, Pubmed, Proquest, and Science Direct in English. Results: Progressive Muscle Relaxation (PMR) could reduce muscle tension, stress, lower blood pressure, increased tolerance for daily activities. Regular exercise can make it easier for patients to concentrate and relax conditions will be more quickly achieved thereby increasing the performance of the adrenal glands to produced sedative hormones which will have an impact on reducing stress and decreasing blood glucose levels so that the quality of life of DM patients increased. Conclusion: PMR influences the stress response, blood glucose levels, and quality of life in patients with diabetes mellitus. Hal ini menyebabkan pasien mengalami stres secara fisik maupun secara psikologis. Tujuan: Untuk menjelaskan pengaruh progressive muscle relaxation terhadap respon stres, kadar glukosa darah dan kualitas hidup pada pasien Diabetes Melitus. Metode: Systematic review ini menggunakan pendekatan PRISMA. Database yang digunakan adalah Scopus, Pubmed, Proquest, dan Science Direct menggunakan bahasa Inggris. Hasil: Progressive Muscle Relaxation (PMR) mampu mengurangi ketegangan otot, menurunkan stress, menurunkan tekanan darah, meningkatkan toleransi terhadap aktivitas sehari-hari. Latihan yang teratur dapat membuat pasien lebih mudah untuk memusatkan pikiran dan kondisi rileks akan lebih cepat tercapai sehingga meningkatkan kinerja kelenjar adrenal untuk memproduksi hormon penenang yang akan berdampak pada penurunan stres dan penurunan kadar glukosa darah sehingga kualitas hidup pasien DM meningkat. Kesimpulan: PMR memiliki pengaruh terhadap respon stres, kadar glukosa darah, dan kualitas hidup pada pada pasien diabetes melitus. Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a group of heterogeneous disorders characterised by increases in blood glucose levels or hyperglycemia. Symptoms of fatigue are a widespread clinical complaint among adults with type 2 diabetes, this is associated with and reported to be bad for health and is a significant obstacle to the successful management of diabetes. Fluctuations in glucose levels can also cause fatigue. Progressive Muscle Relaxation is one of the natural and simple relaxation techniques. Based on the research that has been done, Progressive Muscle Relaxation can help to reduce fatigue symptoms in Type 2 DM clients. Community service activities were carried out in the PKM Kayon Working Area, precisely at Posbindu Bethesda for 30 participants. The activities include providing health services in the form of blood pressure measurement and blood glucose level examination, providing health education about DM and teaching progressive muscle training. The media used are leaflets and booklets. Participants enthusiastically participated in the activities from the beginning to the end. The evaluation that has been done, the post-test results for knowledge of DM have an increase in the average value of expertise by 17.85%.

Introduction: Diabetes Mellitus is a disease that occurs because the body is unable to produce insulin or the body cannot use insulin effectively. The purpose of this study was to find out the effect of Progressive Muscle Relaxation (PMR) on stress and blood glucose decrease in patients who have diabetes mellitus type 2 disease.Method: The design of this study is quasi-experimental study. The population of this study were the patients who have type 2 of diabetes mellitus disease at Puskesmas Kedungdoro and Puskesmas Medokan Ayu. There would be 70 respondents chosen based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. The researcher chose the purpose sampling technique in choosing the participants in this research. The independent variable in this study was Progressive Muscle Relaxation (PMR). The dependent variable in this study were stress and blood glucose decrease. The data in this study were collected using questionnaires and measurement of pre-prandial blood glucose level. Data were analyzed using analysis of Wilcoxon and paired t-test for pre-post measurements, then for the inter groups the researcher used Mann-Whitney analysis.Results: The results showed that there was an effect of PMR on stress (p = 0.001) and in decreasing blood glucose (p = 0.021).Discussion: PMR is a relaxation focused on the patient’s attention in distinguishing the group of muscle when they relaxed than while in contraction condition. Thus, the patients are expected to be able to manage the body condition in managing stress and blood sugar decrease. For health officers, they are expected to use the PMR as the combination in reducing stress and blood glucose to improve the quality of life of the patients who have diabetes type 2 disease.

ABSTRAK Diabetes Melitus merupakan penyakit yang paling menonjol yang disebabkan oleh gagalnya pengaturan gula darah. Lidah buaya berkhasiat untuk menurunkan kadar gula dalam darah bagi penderita diabetes dan dapat mengontrol tekanan darah. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui pengaruh jus lidah buaya (AloeBarbadensis Miller) terhadap penurunan glukosa darah puasa GDP) dan 2 Jam PP (Post Prendial) pada penderita DM (Diabetes Melitus). Desain penelitian merupakan Quasi Eksperimental dengan pendekatan one group pretest – postest design. Sampel terbagi menjadi 14 responden. Data dianalisis dengan paired t-test. Hasil menunjukan rata-rata penurunan glukosa darah puasa pada intervensi (28,42 gr/dl) dan glukosa darah 2 jam pp pada intervensi (40,57 gr/dl). Untuk analisis bivariat terdapat perbedaan antara glukosa puasa dan 2 jam pp dengan glukosa darah puasa GDP) dan 2 Jam PP (Post Prendial) pada penderita DM (Diabetes Melitus). Kesimpulan didapatkanlidah buaya dapat menurunkan kadar glukosa darah.Berdasarkan hasil penelitian jus lidah buaya dapat menjadi salah satu alternatif keperawatan non farmakologi dalam penyakit diabetes melitus. Kata Kunci : Lidah Buaya ; Diabetes Mellitus THE EFFECT OF VEGETABLE VOCATIONAL JUICE ON FAST BLOOD GLUCOSE LEVELS AND 2 HOURS OF PP (Post Prandial) IN DIABETES MELLITUS  ABSTRACT Diabetes mellitus is the most prominent disease caused by the failure of blood sugar regulation. Aloe vera is efficacious can to  reduce blood sugar levels for diabetics and can control blood pressure. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Aloe Barbadensis Miller on the reduction of fasting blood glucose GDP and 2 hours of PP (post prendial) in patients with diabetes mellitus. The research design is Experimental Quasi with one group pretest - postest design approach. The sample is divided into 14 respondents. Data were analyzed by paired t-test. The results showed an average decrease in fasting blood glucose at intervention (28.42 gr / dl) and 2 hours pp blood glucose at intervention (40.57 gr / dl). For bivariate analysis there was a difference between fasting glucose and 2 hours pp with fasting blood glucose GDP) and 2 hours PP (Post Prendial) in patients with diabetes mellitus. The conclusion is that aloe vera can reduce blood glucose levels. AbstractGastritis is inflammation of the gastric mucosa which can last for six months or more and can cause recurrence. Gastritis is characterized by signs and symptoms, namely pain in the gut or epigacentrum, vomiting, nausea and vomiting. Pain is a personal experience that is described by the individual himself with several factors such as psychological that can control the pain. Pain can be treated with pharmacological and non-pharmacological techniques. An example of a non-pharmacological technique is the progressive muscle relaxation technique. Progressive muscle relaxation is a technique for reducing pain by moving the body so that it relaxes tight muscles. The purpose of this scientific paper is to describe the effect of progressive muscle relaxation techniques to reduce pain in gastritis patients. The method used in this scientific paper is Literature review by searching for journals with the title the effect of progressive muscle relaxation techniques to reduce pain in gastritis patients. The results obtained after progressive muscle relaxation measures are reduced or lost pain in gastritis patients. The conclusion of this scientific paper is that progressive muscle relaxation techniques can reduce pain in gastritis patients. Nyeri merupakan pengalaman pribadi yang digambarkan oleh individu itu sendiri dengan beberapa faktor seperti psikologis yang dapat mengontrol nyeri tersebut. Nyeri dapat ditangani dengan teknik farmakologi dan non farmakologi. Contoh teknik non farmakologi adalah teknik relaksasi otot progresif. Relaksasi otot progresif adalah teknik untuk menurunkan nyeri dengan melakukan gerakan gerakan tubuh sehingga meriekskan otot otot yang kaku. Tujuan karya tulis ilmiah ini adalah untuk mengetahui gambaran pengaruh teknik relaksasi otot progresif untuk menurunkan nyeri pada pasien gastritis. Metode yang digunakan dalam karya tulis ilmiah ini adalah literature riview dengan mencari jurnal dengan judul pengaruh teknik relaksasi otot progresif untuk menurunkan nyeri pada pasien gastritis. Hasil yang didapatkan setelah dilakukan tindakan relaksasi otot progresif adalah berkurang atau hilang rasa nyeri pada pasien gastritis. Kesimpulan karya tulis ilmiah ini adalah teknik relaksasi otot progresif dapat menurunkan nyeri pada pada pasien gastritis. Saran bagi perawat diharapkan dapat menerapkan terapi komplementer terhadap pasien gastritis yang mengalami nyeri dengan teknik relaksasi otot progresif. Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disorder with chronic high blood glucose levels, and it is associated with defects in insulin secretion, insulin resistance, or both. It is also a major public issue, affecting the world's population. This disease contributes to long-term health complications such as dysfunction and failure of multiple organs, including nerves, heart, blood vessels, kidneys, and eyes. Flavonoids are phenolic compounds found in nature and usually present as secondary metabolites in plants, vegetables, and fungi. Flavonoids possess many health benefits such as anti-inflammatory and antioxidant activities, and naturally occurring flavonoids contribute to antidiabetic effects.Many studies conducted in vivo and in vitro have proven the hypoglycemic effect of plant flavonoids. A large number of studies showed that flavonoids hold positive results in controlling the blood glucose level in streptozotocin (STZ)-induced diabetic rats and further prevent the complications of diabetes. The future development of flavonoid-based drugs is believed to provide significant effects on diabetes mellitus and diabetes complication diseases. This review aims at summarizing the various types of flavonoids that function as hyperglycemia regulators such as inhibitors of α-glucosidase and glucose cotransporters in the body. This review article discusses the hypoglycemic effects of selected plant flavonoids namely quercetin, kaempferol, rutin, naringenin, fisetin, and morin. Four search engines, PubMed, Google Scholar, Scopus, and SciFinder, are used to collect the data.

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a metabolic disease characterized by elevated blood sugar levels (hyperglycaemia) due to insufficient production of insulin or the condition where the body cannot use insulin effectively. The condition of chronic hyperglycaemia relates to the damage, dysfunction and failure of organs such as the eyes, kidneys, nerves, heart and blood vessels. Diabetes Mellitus and its complications can affect the ability to drive. The prevalence of hyperglycaemia among bus drivers is 52,1%. Body mass Index (BMI), waist circumference (WC) and the ratio of waist circumference to height are often associated with the occurrence of type 2 Diabetes, but the results are still heavily influenced by many factors such as ethnicity and gender. This research aims to observe the association of BMI, waist circumference and waist circumference to height ratio to diabetes mellitus among inter-city bus drivers. This is an analytical research with cross-sectional design involving 176 subjects. Fifty four percent subjects were obese, 53.4% of subjects have a waist circumference above 90 cm, 71.6% of subjects with a waist-to-height ratio of over 0.5. The association between BMI and fasting blood sugar was significant (p = 0,035), and also between the waist circumference and fasting blood sugar (p = 0,009). There is no statistically significant association between the ratio of waist circumference to height and fasting blood sugar level (P = 0,274). Kondisi hiperglikemia kronik berhubungan dengan kerusakan, disfungsi, dan kegagalan dari organ-organ seperti mata, ginjal, saraf, jantung dan pembuluh darah. Diabetes melitus dan komplikasinya dapat mempengaruhi kemampuan mengemudi. Prevalensi hiperglikemia di kalangan pengendara bus sebesar 52,1%. Indeks Massa Tubuh (IMT), lingkar pinggang (LP) dan Rasio lingkar pinggang terhadap tinggi badan sering dihubungkan dengan kejadian Diabetes tipe 2, namun hasilnya masih banyak dipengaruhi oleh banyak faktor seperti etnis dan jenis kelamin. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat bagaimana hubungan IMT, lingkar pinggang dan rasio lingkar pinggang terhadap tinggi badan dengan diabetes melitus pada pengemudi bus antar kota. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian analitik dengan desain potong lintang yang melibatkan 176 subjek. Didapatkan 54% subjek dengan status gizi obese, 53,4% subjek dengan lingkar pinggang di atas 90 cm, 71,6% subjek dengan rasio lingkar pinggang terhadap tinggi badan di atas 0,5. Didapatkan hubungan yang bermakna secara statistik antara indeks massa tubuh dengan kadar gula darah puasa (p=0,035), antara lingkar pinggang dengan kadar gula darah puasa (p=0,009). Tidak didapatkan hubungan bermakna secara statistik antara rasio lingkar pinggang terhadap tinggi badan dengan kadar gula darah puasa (p=0,274). Sebagai kesimpulan, IMT dan Lingkar pinggang dapat digunakan sebagai parameter terhadap risiko timbulnya diabetes pada pengemudi.

ABSTRACT: THE EFFECT OF PROGRESIVE MUSCLE RELAXATION (PMR) ON REDUCING BLOOD GLUCOSE LEVELS IN PEOPLE WITH DIABETES MELLITUS IN THE WORK AREA OF OGAN LIMA HEALTH CENTER, WEST ABUNG DISTRICT, NORTH LAMPUNG Introduction: Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a non-communicable disease that often suffers. Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a non-communicable disease that often suffers.Purpose: To determine the effect of progresive muscle relaxation (PMR) on reducing blood glucose levels in people with diabetes mellitus.Method: This type of research is quantitative, quasi-experimental design using non equivalent control groups. The population in this study were all DM patients in the Work Area of Ogan Lima Health Center, West Abung District, North Lampung, with a total sample of 34 respondents. Data analysis used T test analysis (dependent and independent sample t-test).Results: The results of univariate analysis showed that the average blood glucose level of respondents in the pretest group was 247.29 ± 28.431 mg / dL and posttest 210.29 ± 28.711 mg / dL. The average level of respondent's blood glucose at pretest was 255.94 ± 30.738 mg / dL and posttest 230.76 ± 25.69 mg / dL. T-dependent test results obtained by the treatment group p-value = 0,000, and the control group p-value = 0.006. T-independent test results obtained p-value = 0.035.Conclusion: There was a significant difference between the blood glucose levels of diabetics in the treatment group and the control group. Suggestions are expected that health workers can apply PMR training as an alternative therapy for DM patients. Keywords :progresive muscle relaxation, blood glucose level, diabetes mellitus  Latar Belakang: Diabetes Melitus (DM) merupakan penyakit tidak menular yang sering diderita. Data di dunia sebanyak 422 juta orang dewasa hidup dengan diabetes, di Indonesia tahun 2018 prevalensi  diabetes meningkat dari 1,1% menjadi 2,0%, di Provinsi Lampung meningkat dari 0,8% menjadi1,6%, di Kabupaten Lampung Utara meningkat dari 0,9menjadi 1,07 %. Terapi komplementer untuk mengontrol kadar glukosa darah salah satunya dengan relaksasi otot progresif (Progresive Muscle Relaxation (PMR).Tujuan:Diketahui Pengaruh Progresive Muscle Relaxation (PMR) terhadap penurunan kadar glukosa  darah pada penderita diabetes melitus.Metode Penelitian:Jenis penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif, rancangan quasi eksperiment menggunakan non equivalent control group. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh pasien DM di Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Ogan Lima Kecamatan Abung Barat Lampung Utara, dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 34 responden.Analisis data menggunakan analisis uji T (dependent dan independent sample t-test).Hasil Penelitian: Hasil analisis univariat bahwa rata-rata kadar glukosa darah responden kelompok perlakuan saat pretest yaitu 247,29 ± 28,431 mg/dL dan posttest 210,29 ± 28,711 mg/dL. Rata-rata kadar glukosa darah responden saat pretest yaitu 255,94 ± 30,738 mg/dL dan posttest 230,76 ± 25,69mg/dL. Hasil uji t-dependen kelompok perlakuan diperoleh p-value=0,000, dan kelompok kontrol p-value=0,006. Hasil uji t-independen diperoleh p-value=0,035.Kesimpulan: Ada perbedaan yang signifikan antara kadar glukosa darah penderita diabetes melitus pada kelompok perlakuan dan kelompok kontrol.
