This  study  conducted  an  empirical  study  of  the  implementation  of  the  value  of  character education in social studies learning at  SDN 1 Gunung Terang, Bandarlampung. This study uses a qualitative descriptive design with content analysis techniques. Based on the results and discussion, it is stated that: 1) The process of  implementing the value of character education in SDN 1 Gunung Terang, Bandarlampung consists of the planning, implementation, and evaluation stages; and 2) The suitability of integrated thematic books with character education includes religious character, tolerance, discipline, creative, democratic, curiosity, national spirit, respect for achievement, friendship, enjoy reading, and care for the environment.

Education is the learning of knowledge, the skills of every person that are passed down from generation to generation for one generation. But in education, it is also essential to learn the formation of good character. In this relevant research, especially those that raise Folklore as the object of study, only a few people know about it. Folklore is a medium that can use as a means of forming positive characters in children through moral values and character education contained in the story. This type of research is qualitative descriptive obtained, analyzed, and analyzed in writing to describe the moral values and character building contained in the Toba Batak folklore "Sigale-gale." Data collection was carried out by reading the Sigale-gale folklore text repeatedly and identifying the data in the form of keywords related to the values forming the characters in the story. Furthermore, the collected data were analyzed using content analysis techniques. The results showed that there were four character-forming values in the Sigale-gale Folklore; namely hard work, curious, friendly, and wise.

Abstrak Tujuan penelitian ini untuk memahami secara komprehensif nilai-nilai humaniora dalam antologi puisi "Blues untuk Bonnie" karya WS Rendra. Metode penelitian yang digunakan deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan studi pustaka, dan teknik analisis data dengan analisis isi melalui kajian struktural semiotik. Hasil penelitian yakni antologi puisi Blues untuk Bonnie karya WS Rendra mengandung nilai-nilai humaniora yang terlihat melalui tanda-tanda semiotik berupa moralitas, simpati, empati, kasih sayang, kepedulian, kerjasama, dan toleransi. Temuan penelitian ini merekomendasikan bahwa masih banyak jenis-jenis karya sastra yang dapat dijadikan objek kajian dengan menggunakan pendekatan-pendekatan yang berbeda untuk mengungkap nilai-nilai pendidikan terutama pendidikan karakter bagi siswa dan mahasiswa. Temuan penelitian ini memberikan implikasi terhadap pengajaran sastra di sekolah lanjutan sampai perguruan tinggi dalam bentuk penyusunan bahan ajar atau pengembangan model pembelajaran apresiasi sastra sebagai alternatif pemecahan masalah pendidikan karater bangsa. Kata Kunci: Nilai-nilai humaniora, antologi puisi, kajian struktural semiotik Abstract The objective of this research is to understand comprehensively the humanities values in antology of poetry "Blues for Bonnie" by WS Rendra. The research used content analysis method with qualitative approach. Data collection techniques are used library study and data analysis techniques with content analysis through the study of structuralism semiotic. The result was the antology of poetry 'Blues for Bonnie" by WS Rendra contains humanities values seen through semiotic signs are morality, symphaty, empbaty, love, care, togetherness, and tolerant. The findings lead to the recomendation that there are still many kinds of literary works which can be the object of research by using different approaches for investigating education characters! values for students. This finding implicates to literary instruction in schools to universities in forms of teaching materials or literary appreciation instruction as one of the alternative problem solving of the nation character education. This study aimed at identifying and examining definition and scope of the term ulil amri, important things to consider in giving advice to ulil amri, the way to give them advice, and Islamic jurisprudential view on “Peaceful Action”. This study employed qualitative-descriptive method with content analysis techniques and library research. The results of the study shows that: (1) ulil amri to whom Allah obligate obedience are scholars of rabbaniyyun and leaders as well as those who are in charge of Muslims; (2) some important things in giving advice to ulil amri, those are listening and obeying them in good matter, praying for them goodness and salvation, avoiding ghibah and degradation of ulil amri, cooperating in goodness and piety, being patience upon badness and wrongdoing of the leaders, and giving advice to ulil amri; (3) advising them secretly is the best way, but the scholars also advocate to advise them openly if that method more beneficial to leaders and community; (4) “Peaceful Action” is a matter of ijtihadiyyah in which the scholars have different views on it. Therefore, denying munkar both sir (secretly) and ‘alan (openly) is part of maqasid syar’iyyah that need to be implemented based on rules and considerations of goodness and badness.

This study is conducted based on some cases indicating the decadence of morality, especially among teenagers. All this time, Pesantren or Islamic boarding school has been recognized as the appropriate institution to instil student’s character. This study aims at finding out the planning, implementation, and education results of the obedience character at Pesantren Buntet Cirebon. This study employs a qualitative-descriptive approach. In addition, the data collection is carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation studies. The result of this study shows that the character education of obedience was implemented through uswatun ḥasanah (good examples), targib wa tarhib, and story methods. Based on the data found and analyzed in this study, the researchers found that the obedience was considered as an important and natural aspect. This obedience was established sincerely in a long process. In fact, this sincere and natural obedience were influenced by the characters possessed by the kyai, such as sincerity, noble character, sincere affection, and humbleness towards the santri / students. As a consequence, it resulted in the better religious activity and personality of santri, and this obedience had also an effect on respecting others, such as on the teachers, parents, community, fellow students, and even on the rules of pesantren. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi maraknya berbagai kasus yang menunjukkan semakin rendahnya moral masyarakat utamanya para remaja. Selama ini, pesantren diakui sebagai lembaga yang tepat untuk membentuk karakter seseorang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perencanaan, pelaksanaan serta hasil pendidikan karakter kepatuhan di Pesantren Buntet Cirebon. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif-deskriptif, pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara, serta studi dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendidikan karakter kepatuhan dilakukan dengan metode uswatun ḥasanah, targīb wa tarhib, dan kisah. Berdasarkan data-data penelitian, penulis menemukan bahwa kepatuhan merupakan aspek yang penting dan bersifat alami. Kepatuhan ini terjadi secara tulus yang terjadi dalam proses yang panjang. Terjadi secara tulus dan alami karena kyai memiliki sifat ikhlas, akhlak yang mulia, kasih sayang yang tulus, dan sifat tidak memaksa tehadap santri. Hal tersebut juga berpengaruh terhadap aktivitas religius dan kepribadian santri yang lebih baik, serta kepatuhan terhadap hal yang lainnya seperti terhadap guru, orangtua, masyarakat, sesama santri dan terhadap peraturan pesantren.

Religious moderation is currently one of the most loved courses in the framework of religious harmony. Even now, Ministry of Religion has been launching the Religious Moderation House program in all Islamic religious colleges in Indonesia. This paper discussed the program of activities carried out by Antasari State Islamic University of Banjarmasin to support the government program by instilling the values of religious moderation in all new students. This study applied a qualitative descriptive method with content analysis techniques. The sample in this study were questions posed by Mahasantri during the Islamic and National Insights material every Saturday night at Ma'had Jami'ah UIN Antasari Banjarmasin. The results showed that there were seven themes that most learners’ attraction, namely 1). diversity and tolerance, as many as 91 or 24.53% questions, 2). Synergy and the Importance of Islamic and National Insights, 54 or 14.56% of questions, 3). Radicalism, Terrorism, Fanaticism, 48 or 12.94% questions, 4). Nationalism and Love for the Motherland, 35 or 9.43% of questions, 5). Islamic State and Leaders, 20 or 5.39% of questions, 6). Islamic law in inter-religious relations, 25 or 6.74% questions, and 7). Conflict and Blasphemy, 16 or 4.31% questions. Tolerance and diversity were the most frequently asked questions. Thus, although this lesson carried the theme of Islamic insight and nationalism, this learning tent to be a space for students to ask questions and discuss tolerance which was an important element or part in religious moderation.

The purpose of this study is to describe the types of use of language style in the collection of poems of “Dear You” by Moammar Emka published in 2011. This study uses descriptive qualitative methods. The data source in this study is a collection of poems contained in the poem “Dear You” by Moammar Emka. Data collection techniques in research, using content analysis techniques (text). The results of this study indicate that the use of language style and the value of character education in the collection of poetry “Dear You” by MoammarEmka has a type of language style: (a) parables, (b) metaphors, (c) personification, (d) depersonification, (e) hyperbole, (f) litotes, (g) metonimia, (h) sinekdoke, (i) alliteration, and (j) asonance. Of the ten language styles, the data obtained were 117 data with the smallest data of four data, namely the style of asonance language and the most data of thirty-four data, namely the style of the metaphorical language.

This study aims, firstly to reveal the values that can be developed in the subjects of social studies. both want to know the efforts that have been done by IPS MTs teachers. in implementing character education in IPS learning. The method used in this research is qualitative descriptive research. The research object is the teachers of IPS MTs in West Java who become participants of substantive training in increasing the competence of young teachers of IPS MTs. in Bandung Religious Training Center which took place on 06 s.d. April 17, 2017. Technique of data retrieval is done by interview, and filling in questionnaire. The results of this study indicate that; First the teachers carry out character education in IPS learning as a hidden curriculum (hidden curriculum). Both learning strategies conducted by teachers in implementing character education in IPS learning is through learning materials and activities such as disciplinary cultivation, honesty, and responsible attitude, hard work, and never give up. The purpose of this study was to find out how students' understanding of concepts, disciplines and responsibilities could be improved by applying the Think Pair Share (TPS) model. The research method used is classroom action research which is carried out in two cycles, where each cycle consists of two meetings. The research subjects were 31 students of SDN Tanahwulan Maesan Bondowoso class Vb. The research instrument in the form of observation sheets and written tests was analyzed using qualitative descriptive analysis techniques. The indicator of the success of this classroom action research uses the minimum completeness criteria target (KKM) that has been set, namely 70 with classical completeness of 94% or 29 students. From the results of the study it was found that the average level of completeness of the students' conceptual understanding of social studies material continued to increase from the pre-cycle conditions of 52%, cycle 1 was 84% ​​and cycle 2 was 100%. In the discipline aspect, there was also an increase in the score from 71 in cycle 1, increasing to 86 in cycle 2. In the aspect of student responsibility, the score increased, namely 72 in cycle 1 and 85 in cycle 2. So it can be concluded that the application of the TPS learning model can improve understanding of students' concepts, disciplines and responsibilities

Abstract The role of child reading  in the formation of early childhood character is very important. So also the role of character education is needed by the government as the basis of education in Indonesia. Therefore, this study aims to explore the values of character education in the folktale and is role in the formation of personal early childhood. The approach used is the consept of childrens’s literature and character education. The method used is descriptive qualitative research with content analysis techniques. The source of data derived from the media compass that is a strory-theme tales character of the analyzed. The value of character education found in the folktales of “Suri Ikun and  Two Bird’s” that is creative value,  hardwork, helpers, appreciate achievement, positive attitude, and honesty value.   Keywords: Literature of children, folktale,  and Character
