In recent decades, Europe and the world pay much attention to the role or roles of the teachers and quality educational process. One of Europe’s requirements for quality education is information and IT competence of teachers. Information and IT competence belongs to one of the key competencies that are described in the OECD’s Program Definition and Selection of Competencies: Theoretical and Conceptual Foundations (DeSeCo), as well in other documents of educational policy. This paper presents the analysis of teacher training curricula that allowed determination of presence of information and IT competencies that students at teaching faculties of the University of Sarajevo developed during initial education.

The purpose of the article is to justify the necessity of making a comprehensive educational e-dictionary from a number of disciplines within a certain domain, to show its place in the educational space, to find out compilation principles and usage specifics in the educational process. It is noted that modernization of the modern Ukrainian higher education system requires the search for new approaches to the organization of educational activities that would contribute to the creation of a comprehensive perception of the subject field. It is shown that the formation of the integral outlook of the professional to-be at the educational process as well as developing his system approach to analysis of any phenomena of reality can facilitate the selection and structuring of material on the principles of differentiation and integration. Part of this problem is solved by a complex educational e-dictionary, which is made up of the key concepts of disciplines of a certain speciality (in a particular case, a journalism). The logic and topicality should become conceptual foundations of the electronic dictionary, which will be represented in the elements of its macrostructure (prefaces, rules of using the dictionary, term register, conceptual-terminological groups of terms, illustrations). On the basis of thorough theoretical and applied lexicographic works, a system of lexicographic macrocomponents is developed that characterize the general structure of the dictionary and the principles of presentation of materials in it, as well as a system of microparameters that determine the properties of the term-dominants of the vocabulary article. The value of our research is that it describes in detail the micro- and macro tructure of the complex educational electronic dictionary, solves the key problems associated with the selection of terminology units of the register, and also outlines the advantages of the electronic dictionary in comparison with its paper analogue. The results of the study will promote convergence of sciences and the introduction of integration methods into education for the formation of a comprehensive perception of the world among students and, in particular, for individual understanding through the personal «self» how crucial it is to overcome the contradictions between people and environment.

The article attempts to comprehend the essence and possibility of forming discourse competence among foreign and Russian students with simultaneous immersion in patriotic discourse. It is highlighted that the addition of the humanitarian series of “History of Civilizations” and “Features of Russian Civilization” to the educational process at the university creates the necessary pedagogical conditions for organizing a special linguo-ethno-cultural environment that forms active social interaction of authors within the framework of the medical and patriotic linguistic scenario. The authors of the article conducted a semantic and historical analysis of interpretations of the concept of “patriotism” that were studied from the point of view of traditional and liberal culture. The article presents the results of a socio-pedagogical study of students' perceptions of this concept. The article describes various theoretical and methodological approaches to the definition of the concepts of “discourse” and “discursive picture of the world” as well as psycholinguistic features of the method of semantic differential. Special attention in the article is paid to the typologies of discourse presented in the scientific literature. The authors of the article present the principle of genre and the principle of thematic correlation as the basis for distinguishing between types of discourse and highlight differences in language and discursive pictures of the world. The tasks of educators is to form not only purely medical discursive competence, but also to immerse the listener in “correctly” interpreted picture, saturated with verbal patterns that allow to create statements of patriotic content.

This digital publication consists of a selection of 56 papers presented at the 16th International Conference of the International Society for the Study of European Ideas (ISSEI), held at the University of Zaragoza, 2-5 July 2019, the general theme of which was ‘Aftershocks: Globalism and the Future of Democracy’. Sponsored by The Aragonese Association of Sociology, the conference was well-attended – 170 participants from 28 countries met to discuss a wide variety of topics in 29 workshops. The feedback we received from participants confirmed that they had greatly enjoyed the venue of the conference, that they appreciated the warm welcome they had received and the congenial social atmosphere and opportunity to attend workshops on subjects that were not only in their own field of expertise. No one, of course, could have predicted that our world – our work and life as individuals, as communities and as nations – would change so suddenly and radically eighteen months after the conference, with the rapid and devastating spread of the Convid-19 pandemic. The current deepening global crisis along with the challenge of climate change and growing international tensions are a stark reminder of how vulnerable our societies, our civilization, and our species are. The shocks and aftershocks of these crises are felt today in every corner of the world and in every aspect of our global and local economies, and most obviously in the sociopolitical arena. As several of the conference workshops on the multiple crises Europe and the world face today – from the migrant crisis to the rise of populism and deepening inequality between rich and poor – showed – and as the Covid-19 pandemic has so cruelly brought home to us – we simply cannot take the achievements of human civilization for granted and must find ways to meet the fundamental social and political needs of human beings not only in our own neighborhoods, cities and countries, but ultimately in the world as a whole: their living conditions, livelihoods, social services, education and healthcare, human rights and political representation. Several of the workshops, as I mentioned, directly addressed these issues and emphasized the need for building social resilience based on tolerance, solidarity and equity. This too is why, as academics, we should continue to initiate and engage in collective reflection and debate on how to foster and strengthen human communities and human solidarity. Finally, I want to thank the participants and workshop chairs for their contribution to the success of the conference. It was a pleasure for me to work with the university organizing team and with ISSEI’s team in bringing this about, and I am particularly proud that my university and the city of Zaragoza hosted this conference.

This paper analyzes the world sources and considers the evolution of the e-learning system in the world, which are necessary for the formation of the e-learning system of the educational institution. The object of research is modern information pedagogical technologies that change the educational process. Subject of research – various educational technologies (distance, mixed, mobile, micro-) learning that influence the effectiveness of the educational process. The purpose is to identify the main elements that create the global e-learning system and to define the structure of the system for use in educational institutions. It is shown that in the first stage distance courses played the role of delivery of educational materials to the student. The development of web 2.0 technology and the advent of LMS have changed the way we learn. Pedagogical theories, the pedagogical instructional model ADDIE, and the use of Bloom's taxonomy allowed for student collaboration and active communication. The distance learning course is focused on achieving and measuring learning outcomes. In the third stage, all components of the world eLearning system are present: methodical, informational, technological, software and technical, personnel, regulatory, planning and development, monitoring and control. The components of the subsystems are variable in nature. Such a system is the basis for the strategy and tactics of the development of the e-learning system in the educational organization and its structural units. The most important is the planning and development subsystem, which defines the ways of development of the educational organization, the strategy and tactics of development of the e-learning system of the university, the required staff potential and the system of professional development of teachers. For its effective work it is necessary to have trained content curators who follow the most influential content curators of the world. Members of this team provide certification for distance courses in accordance with the organization standard. National Technical University "Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute" conducts systematic work in this area, conducts open distance courses for developers, tutors, content curators and experts for teachers of educational institutions of Ukraine. Developed distance courses that measure the competence of trained professionals ensure high efficiency of dual learning. More than 2,100 teachers of educational establishments of Ukraine have enrolled in the open distance courses, more than 320 teachers have successfully completed the courses.

The book brings together critical considerations and experiences linked to the work of the author, lecturer in restoration at the Florence University Faculty of Architecture, as supervisor of degree theses on restoration. The reflections concern teaching Restoration as a subject, the conditions within which the knowledge and culture of restoration can ripen within our universities and the most recent problems encountered by both the discipline and restoration projects. In the first part of the publication, these aspects are set out in broad and more precisely conceptual and methodological terms in chapters and themed paragraphs which also act as a guide to drawing up degree theses on restoration, as well as a contributing to the didactics and efficiency of the specific discipline. This is followed by a selection of degree theses on restoration discussed in recent years which show the route from the principles, general problems and intervention criteria for every case study to drawing up a project. They are projects that deal with analysis methods and techniques, surveys, specialist restorations, regeneration, and the relationship between old and new. In short, the projects are what gave the final stage in the university education meaning and substance, also in order to acquire fundamental keys to restoration culture and activities in the world after university.

In this special issue of Transnational Marketing Journal, we brought together a selection of articles drawn from presentations at the Taste of City Conference 2016: Food and Place Marketing which was held at the University of Belgrade, Serbia on 1st September 2016. We have supported the event along with Transnational Press London. We thank to Goran Petkovic, the Faculty of Economics at the University of Belgrade, and Goran’s volunteer students team who helped with the conference organisation. Mobilities are often addressed within social sciences varying across a wide range of disciplines including geography, migration studies, cultural studies, tourism, sociology and anthropology. Food mobilities capture eating, tasting, producing and consuming practices as well as traveling and transferring. Food and tastes are carried around the world, along the routes of mobility through out the history. As people take their own culture to the places, they take their food too. Food meets and mingles with other cultures on the way. Fusion food is born when food transcends the borders and mix with different ingredients from different culinary traditions. Although certain places are associated and branded with food, it is a challenging job to understand the role of food and taste in forming and reformulating the identity of places.

Khangeldieva The article is devoted to the problems of modern higher education, the current challenges of the digital revolution to leading university practices, its impact on the development of society and education in general. The author draws attention to three scenarios for the development of the future proposed by the Israeli researcher, J. Harrari (conservative, radical and superradical). The article presents the experience of the new alternative US university, which has no analogues in the world, is fully built on the basis of digital technology and conducts the educational process only in an online format. The university is positioned as one of the answers to the challenges to education by the digital revolution. The article analyzes the main features of the digital university-startup “Minerva”, reveals the reasons for its occurrence, the specifics of its development and functioning, determines both its positive 102 qualities and some problem areas, presents the logic of the educational process and educational technology, which the founders of the University of Minerva interpret as your own educational know how. An assumption is made about the multiplicity of options for future digital universities.
