Insulation pull rods are commonly used tools and instruments in the replacement of insulators for live work. Traditional hard insulated pull rods are difficult to transport and assemble due to their large deflection, especially due to the long and heavy weight of insulated pull rods used in UHV live operations, the difficulties in the above links are more obvious. In view of the existing problems in the use of the existing insulated pull rods, by studying the overall processing type, the soft pull rod weaving process, the technology of tightly combining the core rod and the protective cover, the technology of connecting the core rod and the metal, etc., a new type suitable for live transmission lines has been developed. Large-tonnage soft insulated pull rod for operation. Effectively solve a series of problems caused by the large deflection of the hard insulated pull rod.

For enhancing energy-saving for construction engineering project, energy-saving oriented matrix management mode (ESOMMM) is proposed. The frame of the ESOMMM in engineering project is established from two dimensions (basic stage and key content). Under the precondition that the key contents are implemented, the key energy-saving techniques are respectively studied from planning, building, rebuilding and usage stage. And the coordination optimization model for key techniques under ESOMMM is established to solve conflict among varied key techniques. The energy-saving achievement after application is analyzed by applying ESOMMM, its key techniques, and the coordination optimization model in Shenyang city. The result shows that above mode, key techniques and model in engineering project will be benefit for enhancing the energy-saving greatly.

Exercise Musk-ox was no isolated adventure, but the culminating test of several years of wartime work. In it, vehicles, equipment, and techniques of training and of air-supply, secretly developed during the war, were given an open test to ascertain their usefulness in northern Canada. Because the public had not been aware of this secret work by the services, Exercise Musk-ox was hailed by them as a new idea, but it would not have been possible had not the equipment and methods all been ready and proven before tbe close of the war.So great had been these wartime improvements that none of those men best acquainted with the north country and with older methods of transportation believed that the ground party had any chance of driving 2600 miles without roads across the Arctic and sub-Arctic in less than 2½ months. Neither was it generally realised that the military purposes had already been served and that this was no tactical exercise but a demonstration of the soundness of military development and an experiment in applying it to peaceful pursuits in the Canadian Arctic.
