The article examines the criminalistic characteristic of the offenders committing crimes related to the violation of the regulations governing aquatic biological resources. The author forwards a hypothesis that the understanding of the personality of the environmental criminals affects the clearance rate of this type of crimes, therefore, summing up the general data, it is possible to derive a portrait of a criminal, relying on a certain model typical for all criminals of a given category, taking into account three aspects - generalized, group and individual. Based on the study, the author concludes that persons who breach protection of aquatic biological resources regulations are not typical, although they have common features that make it possible to classify the offender as a specific type of criminals and they are characterized by the inherent features of random criminals (first-time offenders as a result of coincidence), as well as unstable criminals (first-time offenders regularly evading social norms and previously committed offenses). The author’s analysis of the judicial and investigative practice of violations of aquatic biological resources regulations shows that, as a rule, a person commits crimes without planning them in advance. A guilty person decides to commit a misconduct already in the process of his activity, which is due to the relevant conditions: lack of proper control by supervisory authorities, lack of knowledge of the operational situation at the current time, the need to shorten the time frame for the accomplishment of the work, the use of equipment in production that does not meet modern safety and environment requirements, etc. The practical significance of the study lies in the possibility of applying knowledge about the personality typology of the subjects of violation of aquatic biological resources regulations in the preventive activities of the state bodies, in order not only to combat these violations, but also to prevent them.

Background: Few studies on problematic gamblers have focused on how environment and personality interact in gambling behavior. The aim of this research is to investigate how social support, dimensions of personality, and advertising campaigns are associated with gambling among problematic or moderate-risk gamblers and recreational gamblers and associated with online gambling (i.e., sport and poker). Methods: One hundred nine participants (45% problematic or moderate-risk gamblers) answered an online survey including social support, five factor models of personality, typology of gamblers, and several sociodemographic variables. Results: We found that problematic and moderate-risk gamblers were significantly more sensitive to gambling advertisements compared to light players. Social support was significantly lower among online gamblers compared to offline gamblers, but no association was found between social support and type of gamblers. Problematic and moderate-risk gamblers presented lower levels of extraversion compared with recreational gamblers. Notably, when the onset of gambling is before 18 years old, participants had more chances to recall more gambling advertisements as adults. Conclusion: We propose that future longitudinal research should focus on characteristics of online gamers particularly regarding social support to understand this low level of adequacy compared to offline gamblers.

BACKGROUND: Under the conditions of the COVID-19 pandemic, the problem of emotional burnout syndrome among nurses working under extremely stressful conditions has become particularly acute. It is therefore necessary to examine the characteristics of emotional burnout syndrome in nurses during the COVID-19 pandemic to develop effective measures to prevent and enhance their mental health. OBJECTIVE: The study aimed to establish the features of emotional burnout syndrome and its connection with typological characteristics of the personality in nurses working with COVID-19 patients. METHODS: A total of 120 female nurses who worked with COVID-19 patients were surveyed, of whom 60 (50.0%) worked in outpatient settings along with general practitioners and 60 (50.0%) worked in the intensive care unit. The average age of the participants was 40.86±3.20 years, and the average length of medical service was 13.64±1.73 years. RESULTS: A burnout syndrome of varying severity was present in 50.0%of outpatient nurses and 73.3%of intensive care nurses (OR = 2.44, 95%CI [1.16–5.16]; p <  0.05). The tension phase predominated in outpatient nurses (53.3%), and the resistance phase was more typical for intensive care nurses (63.3%). CONCLUSIONS: The practice of nurses under COVID-19 pandemic conditions is characterized by the high prevalence of emotional burnout syndrome.

Purpose Vocal fold nodules (VNs) are bilateral, symmetrical, callous-like lesions secondary to phonotrauma and possibly related to specific personality traits. This case–control study examined the relation between personality and VNs in children within the context of the Trait Theory of VNs. Method Parents of children with VNs ( N = 39, M = 7.43, SD = 2.01 years) and two medical control groups (i.e., voice disordered controls, but not VNs [VDCs; N = 40, M = 7.09, SD = 2.01 years] and vocally normal controls [VNCs; N = 40, M = 7.6, SD = 1.54 years]) completed the Inventory of Child Individual Differences, a personality instrument that describes the Big Five superfactors as well as 15 lower order personality traits. Results Children with VNs, as compared with VNCs, were (a) emotionally reactive (i.e., higher N—Neuroticism, p < .005, Cohen's d = 0.53), (b) Antagonistic, Strong-Willed, and less Compliant (i.e., lower A—Agreeableness, p < .014, Cohen's d = 0.59), and (c) Distractible and Disorganized (i.e., lower C—Conscientiousness, p < .009, Cohen's d = 0.62). Both voice disordered groups displayed elevated scores on the personality superfactor of Neuroticism (N; and the “Negative Emotions” lower order trait). Conclusions The combination of personality traits identified in this study (i.e., high N, low A and C) may play a central role in VNs development and possibly attenuate voice therapy success. Children with VNs displayed a similar personality typology as women with VNs, with the exception of elevated Extraversion (E), thereby providing support for the relevance of the Trait Theory of VNs in both children and adults. Clinicians treating children with voice disorders, including VNs, should consider their underlying personality traits in assessment and management.

Communication is the process of sending and receiving messages that involve at least two people so that the message can be understood. The existence of effective communication results in a good relationship between the sender and recipient of the message. Meanwhile, miscommunication can lead to relationship breakdown. The way a person communicates is largely influenced by his personality. Communication is more effective by looking at his personality. Personality directly affects interpersonal communication and this communication affects organizational commitment. One way to find out a person's personality typology is to fill in personality observations based on the fields that have been determined by the expert. The purpose of this study is to develop a personality typology application that can be used to identify a person's personality typology. The existence of this application is expected to help realizing effective communication because someone knows the typology of his personality that can be used to communicate with his interlocutors. The software development method used is eXtreme Programming. This method was chosen because the resources to make the system were available, application development time was short, and programming was done by a small team. The making of this personality typology application can be used by someone to identify personality typologies that can produce choleric, sanguine, melancholic, and phlegmatic classification outputs. This application is created using the PHP programming language and MySQL Database Management System by displaying a list of 24 questions that must be filled in by the user. The application using black box testing, accuracy value is 100%. The existence of this application is expected to create a comfortable working atmosphere and create smooth communication with all parties. This has an impact on the effectiveness of communication so that it can reduce communication misunderstandings.

Enneagram is an ancient personality typology that can depict one’s personality strategy and pattern. It is potential to be used in Christian spiritual formation trainings. However, some Evangelicals voice their doubts especially regarding its historicity and reliability in relation to Christian spiritual formation. This study, conducted by using exploratory qualitative approach, tries to examine enneagram through its historicity and empirical studies and their interconnections with Christian spiritual formation. The study shows that enneagram can be used in Christian spiritual formation trainings, especially on topics discussing relational issues in the areas of friendship, marriage, leadership, conflict management, or counseling.

This paper presents the results of research into the linguistic personality of politician Sergey Mikheyev when viewed as a discourse personality. Special consideration has been given to the speech behaviour characteristic of a discourse personality. The paper presents the results of the cognitive-discursive and linguo-rhetorical description of a discourse personality. The relevance of this research is based on the growing interest for linguistic personality typology with regards to discourse (K. F. Sedov, V. I. Karasik, N. D. Golev, A. V. Bolotnov, et al.). A mixed type of political discourse that actualises both the personal and status factors of its formation was chosen as the object of analysis. The research focuses on semantic dominants and semantic constructs of the discourse behaviour of the Russian politician Sergey Mikheyev, as well as on the cognitive and linguo-rhetorical mechanisms of the interpretation of speech acts when viewed as elements of individual discourse behaviour. We define the linguo-rhetorical competence of the politician’s personality. The study is novel in that it identifies semantic dominants and semantic constructs found in Mikheyev’s discourse and uses an integrative approach to analysis (cognitive-discursive and linguo-rhetorical). It is proven that semantic dominants, constructs, and presuppositions manifest inventive mechanisms of individual discourse activity. We suggest defining the status of Mikheyev’s discourse personality as a mixed type of elitist linguistic personality that is pragmatically oriented. We prove that the discourse personality of Sergey Mikheyev is a prototype of a future successful politician’s linguistic personality. The paper presents the author’s original communicative competence system of S. Mikheyev’s discourse personality.

This study introduces the Formal Theory’s (FT) thesis that the unconscious, founded on the scientific analysis of the creative process, is a conflict resolving homeostatic mechanism following the laws of the Simple Harmonic Motion and Felix Klein’s equilibrial principles. The creative process automatically transforms psychic tension, developed upon normative deviation, to sociological adjustment by resolving conflict along a six-part psychodynamic sequence and four alternative relational modalities. Establishing continuity between physiological, psychological, sociological and natural scientific phenomena allows recognition of the unconscious, motivated by the need to transform psychic tension to negative entropy, as the unit of the social sciences. Resolving conflict along the four alternative approaches establishes a wellness psychodynamic personality typology. This assumption is validated by using the Conflict Analysis Battery (CAB), a self-assessment which analyzes creativity for self-discovery. Completing the assessment enables a person to become conscious of the unconscious giving it broad relevance for psychology, diagnosis, therapy, morality, and education.
