Abstract Purpose In Maharashtra's Kolhapur district, open field burning of sugarcane trash (ST) is a major concern. This pollutes the environment, loses energy, and has a detrimental effect on biodiversity. As a result, a study was conducted to learn more about the underlying cause of sugarcane trash burning. MethodsThe face-to-face interview of 186 sugarcane growers were carried in Kolhapur district of Maharashtra (India). The impact of age and education on behavior of farmers towards the usage of sugarcane trash were analyzed with help of M.S Excel, and Past-3 software and Drivers, Pressures, State, Impact, Response (DPSIR) model. ResultsThe age and education has non-significant effect on burning of sugarcane trash even though at 10% level of significance. The 61.12 % farmers burn the sugarcane trash in the field, whereas 38.70 % used for other purposes. The farmers (95.69 %) are very well know that burning of sugarcane trash has a detrimental effect on the environment. The 80 % farmers reported fear of rats, snakes and scorpion to use sugarcane trash as mulch in field as well as 42 % farmers reported burning of sugarcane trash in field has benefits. Conclusions The study revealed that farmers have knowledge and understanding on how to use sugarcane trash for benefits but due to utilization barriers they burned the sugarcane trash in the field. There is need a robust policy as well as extension activity to address this issue.

In the industrial era 4.0 technology has emerged and people's thoughts are increasingly democratic. Nowadays, we see a lot of phenomena in coffee shops where young people with their laptops can buy company shares through investment and get dividends. This investment activity will encourage a country's economy, absorb labor, increase output resulting in foreign exchange savings or even increase foreign exchange. Investment aims to get a fixed income in each period, meet future needs and so on. Thus, the increase in the value of this investment is expected to help economic growth for the welfare of the community. (www.idx.co.id) The condition of the community in Blang Pulo Village is in a position that is still in the lower middle-class community where most people earn from farming and trading. Almost the average community does not have savings prepared for the future. Others are in a weak economic position where their income is only enough for their daily meals. With the investment village, it is hoped that the trading community in Gampong Blang Pulo will be willing to follow directions to save shares every month on a regular basis to get the maximum profit possible. (https://kampungkb.bkkbn.go.id) An investment village is an activity to introduce investment to the community and invite people to save shares. As well as providing guidance on how to invest properly and correctly that can generate future returns without any element of usury. With the investment village program, it is expected to be able to develop the potential that has been pioneered by the community to be more developed. The increasing number of online-based transactions, particularly e-commerce, has raised a variety of legal issues that can harm consumers. To regulate online-based transactions, a number of laws and regulations were established. Online transactions have also now reached the villages. As for the village of Aikmual, where devotional activities will be carried out, online transactions, especially online buying and selling, have been commonly carried out by mothers. About one-third of women in Aikmual village have become accustomed to buying and selling online through various e-commerce platforms. To avoid losses to consumers, the Extension Team of the Faculty of Law, Mataram University, will conduct legal counseling activities regarding Consumer Protection in online-based transactions in Aikmual village. This legal counseling method is carried out through lectures, namely the delivery of material by the extension team and by means of discussion with the target audience. The conclusion of this extension activity is that there are several problems related to online transactions faced by the target audience, including discrepancies between goods ordered and those received by consumers, concerns about the security and legality of online investment, and lack of public understanding about the legal mechanisms that can be taken by consumers when facing problems in online transactions

The activity takes place in Poço da Draga. We approach this territory through photographs that people keep in their homes and the narratives they tell about them. The photographs evoke narratives, activate memories, interconnect relationships. Can we consider these narrative landscapes as heritage of Fortaleza? How can we think about them as “spaces of remebrance” that allow us to reconsider social, historical and anthropological readings of the city? We take as a starting point the narratives told by Dona Zenir, one of the oldest residents of Poço da Draga. Her narratives and images take us to people, their lives, bring us closer to the lived experiences shared with other women, entwining – through memory – Poço da Draga to the history of Fortaleza.Key words: Biographies. Palavras-chave: Atividade extensionista; Solução tecnológica; Agro 4.0 Development of application for soybeans classification: experience report Abstract: University extension programs reflect actions undertaken by the academy, following the community’s demands as well as providing comprehensive and civic education. To this degree, the present experience report describes an extension activity regarding developing a software tool to enable farmers to classify soybeans during the commercialization process and compare the results collected with the customer enterprises. The project was developed at the Instituto Federal Goiano – Campus Iporá, in Goiás, Brazil, focusing on technologies and the participation of higher education students from the Software Analysis and Development course, oriented by professionals from the Agricultural Sciences and Information Technology Applied Social Sciences areas. The software was developed in the programming language Java targeting execution on Android devices. Following the legal standards specified by the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture, Cattle and Supplying, the created software enables farmers to classify their commercialized soybeans in real-time, establishing a database organized by the product’s batch at the moment of the trading. In this way, the possible mismatch and loss resulting from the trade are reduced. Keywords: Extension activity; Technological solution; Agro 4.0

Arthropod-borne flaviviruses, such as Zika virus (ZIKV), Usutu virus (USUV), and West Nile virus (WNV), are a growing cause of human illness and death around the world. Presently, no licensed antivirals to control them are available and, therefore, search for broad-spectrum antivirals, including host-directed compounds, is essential. The PI3K/Akt pathway controls essential cellular functions involved in cell metabolism and proliferation. Moreover, Akt has been found to participate in modulating replication in different viruses including the flaviviruses. In this work we studied the interaction of flavivirus NS5 polymerases with the cellular kinase Akt. In vitro NS5 phosphorylation experiments with Akt showed that flavivirus NS5 polymerases are phosphorylated and co-immunoprecipitate by Akt. Polymerase activity assays of Ala- and Glu-generated mutants for the Akt-phosphorylated residues also indicate that Glu mutants of ZIKV and USUV NS5s present a reduced primer-extension activity that was not observed in WNV mutants. Furthermore, treatment with Akt inhibitors (MK-2206, honokiol and ipatasertib) reduced USUV and ZIKV titers in cell culture but, except for honokiol, not WNV. All these findings suggest an important role for Akt in flavivirus replication although with specific differences among viruses and encourage further investigations to examine the PI3K/Akt/mTOR pathway as an antiviral potential target.
