The quality of education depends on the teacher as well as to the curriculum. As the prime movers to attain the addressed goals in the curriculum, teachers must have the desire to grow and improve through professional development and constant learning towards students ‘academic achievement. The descriptive method of research was utilized in this study to assess the competency level of the MAPEH teachers in teaching performing arts based on the K to 12 Curriculum. Results of the study revealed that majority of the respondents were females, married and 40 years old and below. They earned units/finished their master’s degree, held a teacher position, and had 10 years and below teaching experience. With regard to artistic inclinations particularly in terms of dancing, majority of them have potential in folk dance and modern dance. In terms of music, some teachers could play musical instruments skillfully such as guitar and piano/organ. They were highly competent in using assessment data, monitoring students’ data and achievement, using ICT resources for the teaching-learning process, giving feedbacks, making good use of allotted time and employing design. Individual or group experiential learning, cooperative learning, project method and collaborative activities were most commonly used strategies in teaching performing arts. Meanwhile, lack of facilities and equipment and limited seminars, workshops, and trainings attended were the common problems encountered.

Organization’s strength to realizing its goal are deeply relying to the abilities of the workforce. It is the primary resource and vital capital of an organization that is dynamic and adaptable. Regardless of its nature, it is undeniably that the blood of the operation of every organization is the manpower. Employees who tend to be lacked skills normally do not produce good quality work. Productivity and outstanding output are achieved only if employees of an organization are managed properly. Such management is the enhancement of their capabilities and expertise, giving these workers motivation, thus attaining job satisfaction and excellent organizational results. This study presents a literature review on the importance of technical training and professional development of the employees towards organizational growth.  In technical related works, training is a one-way for the employees to grow their based-knowledge and improve professional skills to become more effective in their chosen field of interest, a pathway for them to be the key asset in contributing positive outcomes to their respective organization.

While there have been studies and awareness seminars conducted in the promotion of Philippine English (PE), still PE has not fully-penetrated in most public schools. Hence, the study sought to identify the acceptability of PE among English teachers from a secondary high school in Pampanga. PE’s levels of acceptability were determined using Torres and Alieto’s (2019) Grammatical and Lexical Acceptability Questionnaire. Pre -test result revealed that teachers have low acceptability level of the PE grammatical and lexical items   and that they are not aware of the PE. A webinar was conducted to introduce the PE among teachers and the post-test showed a significant difference to their acceptability level. Furthermore, teachers’ answers to the follow up questions imply that they are willing to introduce PE in the classroom, which they believe will help the students to be more conversant and become more confident in speaking the English language. It is concluded that teachers are open to incorporating the PE in their classes to further improve their students’ confidence in learning the language. The following recommendations were given: (1) Teachers should be provided with more seminars that will update them with the current status of Philippine English; (2) Teachers should be encouraged to consider the Philippine English in motivating students to be confident speakers in the English classes; and (3) School administrators and English teachers should promote the acceptance of Philippine English in the academic context.

Employing the descriptive qualitative research method, this study drew on the Functional Theory of Talcott Parsons which espouse that subculture develop out of its adaptation from the dominant culture. It aimed to describe and analyze the subculture of working students in call centers in Metro Manila and its influence on their family relations, health, recreational activities, consumption behavior and academic performance. Results showed that the norms and values in the call center as reflected on the social environment influenced the values of the working students. The subculture in the call center produced positive and negative effects to the participants. The night shift work schedule led to health problems, less contact time with their family and peers, and less time on studying. Thus, there is a need for call center companies and schools to provide the necessary remediation to improve working students’ productivity in work and performance in school.

NUR-IN ISMAEL – ALIH., “PANGONGOLEKTA, PAGSUSURING PANGNILALAMAN AT BALYU ANALISIS NG  MGA SALAWIKAING TAUSUG.” Master of Arts in Language Teaching Filipino, Panggradwadong Paaralan ng Sulu State College, Jolo, Sulu.

Gaps are manifest in instilling the core values among the Filipino basic education students. Thus, this documentary analysis was conducted on the senior high school English-related Curriculum Guides in order to determine how the design of language and literature curricula incorporates being maka-Diyos (godly), makatao (mindful of humanity), makakalikasan (respectful of nature) and makabansa (patriotic) in the competencies. Anchored on Speech Act Theory and Linear Communication Model and guided by the indicators in DepEd Order 8, s. 2015, this study unraveled the paths using four-step systematic coding discussed with two intercoders. Thematic patterning found ‘open’ paths with optional integration and ‘direct’ paths with straightforward core values inclusion in the instruction. The paths also employ the core values as subject of six activities: creating, synthesizing, applying/demonstrating, socialized activities, valuing, and understanding. Findings revealed that direct paths are available for the three values except for ‘makakalikasan’, leaving environmentalism an optional value in senior high school language classrooms. The core values harmonization in all senior high school curricula must therefore be reevaluated. As language and literature are natural resources, it should also be efficiently employed as a roadmap for national transformation.

Utilizing a quantitative approach in research with descriptive-correlational design and through a survey and test instruments, this study determined the attitudes of Grade 12 students of selected senior high schools in Nueva Vizcaya toward religion and the level of their knowledge about the basic tenets, historical contexts, and core teachings of the eight (Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, Taoism, Confucianism and Shintoism) world major religions. Findings showed that the Grade 12 students had positive and favorable attitudes toward religion. However, the students generally lacked full knowledge or mastery of the basic tenets, historical contexts and core teachings of the eight world major religions. Finally, the study found out that the attitudes of students toward religion did not affect or influence students’ academic performance in the Introduction to World Religions and Belief Systems subject.

The primary aim of the study was to determine the effectiveness of physical exercise to the writing ability of Grade 10 Online Distance Learning (ODL) students of Margarito A. Duavit Integrated School. To achieve this aim, the researcher used an experimental design of research wherein thirty-one (31) out of fifty-nine (59) enrolled students enthusiastically engaged in the activity. The principal tool for analyzing the respondents in this study was a researcher-created activity sheet. A rubric was used to collect the essential data on the effectiveness of physical activity on the writing abilities of the school's Grade 10 online distance learning students. Results of the study, from the pretest scores in terms of fluency, originality, and flexibility revealed low level of scores ranging from 5 – 14 from a possible maximum score of 15 points as evidenced by a 6.968 – 10.452 mean scores while the students’ posttest scores revealed an increase from 5 – 15 and mean scores from 10.45 – 12.548 after conducting the Eher-Sulat activity. Results of the analysis of variance revealed significance value of 0.05. The null hypothesis that there is no significant difference in the effectiveness of physical exercise on the respondents' writing ability after exposing them to the Eher-Sulat activity was rejected because the computed t value exceeds the critical value, indicating that the means are significantly different. This demonstrates that Eher-Sulat activity, which entails performing physical exercises prior to beginning a class, differs significantly from the usual method of introducing a subject or topic. This implies that writing is a bodily as well as a mental endeavor. It's critical for us to understand the link between our mind and body. To keep our mental skills where we want them, we have to keep our bodies healthy and active.

This study aimed to determine the effects of 3-Dimension (Virtual) Exhibit in the academic performance of Selected Grade 7 students. The use of 3-Dimension (Virtual) Exhibit is quite new in the Philippines, primarily because teachers use the readily available modules in the books, but according to Edgar Dale “the use of other senses can influence the student’s retention” thus the use of 3-Dimension (Virtual) Exhibit can increase the student retention. The researchers use the Experimental method to determine the effectiveness in the retention of students. The researchers use two groups, the 1st Group serves as the experimental group and the 2nd group serves as the Controlled group. Both groups take the pre-test, every lesson has 5 item questions, after conducting the pre-test the groups undergone experimentation, the experimental group uses the 3-dimension Exhibit from the website of the National Museum of the Philippines that is open for all, to teach the artworks in different regions, while the controlled group uses the readily available modules, after that post-test was conducted. Based on the findings the use of the 3-Dimension (Virtual) Exhibit has a great effect on remembering the important artworks, it also shows that students are more active and participative in class.
