This study assessed the performance of student organizations of the Lyceum of the Philippines University in terms of organization’s objectives, operations, and outputs/achievements, and to determine how student organizations contributed to the development of the institutional goals. Participants of study were the active members and the advisers of all recognized student organizations for the school year 2006-2010. The research used the descriptive method of research with triangular approach where empirical data was supported with qualitative analysis and interviews with student organization members and advisers. The data were treated using weighted mean, ranking and t-test. Results revealed that LPU student organizations provide activities which contribute to the academic, socio-cultural, cognitive and personal development of the students, thus, student organizations play an important role in attaining the identified institutional goals. Abstract: Resilience is gained through life experiences that local university students lack from a classroom environment. This study investigated the effect of outdoor education camp programs on the levels of resilience among Physical Education students from two selected universities in Malaysia. A questionnaire was utilized as the primary research tool in this study to assess the participants' perceptions and knowledge acquisition as well as their level of resilience toward the outdoor education camp programs. A total of 162 undergraduate students were studied using a pre-test and post-test approach and a modified version of the Connor-Davidson in a 25 items self-report scale. Analysis of paired t-test showed differences in factors involved in resilience variables, personal competence, instincts and tolerance of negative behavior, positive acceptance of change, control, and spiritual influence. The findings indicated a positive effect towards resilience upon completion of the 14-day outdoor education camp program. A multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) was carried out to evaluate if participation in the outdoor education program influenced participants' perceived level of resilience. Overall, there were statistically significant increases in resilience levels from the pre-test to the post-test stage. These results lead to the need for in-depth research into the assessment of internal factors in an outdoor camp program to provide valuable information on the effect of the intervention and implications towards enhancing resilience of the participants in low to high-risk activities. Keywords: Outdoor education, Personal Development, Program Evaluation, Physical Education, Resilience

This paper aims at presenting a study on bodily intelligence, a relatively new term that joins the most established ones such as cognitive intelligence, emotional intelligence or spiritual intelligence. The theoretical basis is supported by Gardner's theory of multiple intelligence as well as more recent neurological and psychological studies on the human body. A form of knowledge is highlighted which, although it is the first to appear in human ontogenesis, has not been much studied and promoted and which opposes rational or iconic knowledge. The present study aims at finding a tool for measuring bodily intelligence and at investigating the dynamics of this intelligence in relation to participating in a unifying personal development program through dance and movement. In this sense we went through two major stages and objectives at the same time: 1 - conducting a unifying personal development program through dance and 2 - conducting a quantitative statistical study to capture the effects of the program on bodily intelligence and its correlation with self-satisfaction related to the physical body. The quantitative (experimental) research was applied with the participation of an experimental group composed of 33 people and a control group composed of 36 people. The results were obtained by pre-test-post-test procedure. The initial testing was held at the beginning of the program and retesting - one day after its completion. The experiment consisted of a UPDDM program lasting 20 hours over three days. The results obtained from the statistical data processing show significant differences between the control group and the experimental group in the bodily intelligence variable confirming the research hypothesis, according to which a UPDDM dance therapy program is a valid method of increasing bodily intelligence. Key words: personal development, dance therapy, bodily intelligence, kinesthetic intelligence.

The purpose of this qualitative exploratory case study was to identify components of an exemplary leadership development program that might serve as a framework for training leaders for banking organizations in Nigeria. We recruited 30 managers, supervisors, and officers with at least 10 years of banking experience to explore leadership development at First Bank of Nigeria’s headquarters in Lagos, Nigeria. Face-to-face interviews focused on exploring what type of corporate leadership training strategies worked for First Bank of Nigeria. Four major leadership development strategies that worked best for First Bank emerged from analysis of the qualitative data obtained: (a) classroom, online, and on-the-job training; (b) mentoring; (c) coaching by a shadow manager; and (d) personal development and work-life balance. First Academy, the training arm at First Bank of Nigeria, has made valuable contributions to developing leaders in the fast-paced Nigerian banking industry. Other banking organizations in Nigeria may want to incorporate leadership training strategies used by First Bank of Nigeria.

In his article Child movement in Russia as an instrument of modern human capital development the author puts forward the problem of underestimating and even complete ignoring children community unions while handling the task of preparing effective human potential for Russian regions. According to author the State as the customer of human capital and the children movement as a potential contract accepter at key stages of forming required values, competencies and traits, have not yet built regular “business” relationship: they have not defined exact goals of educational process according to current labour market demands, and have not drawn ”game rules” for educators market. Fineness of the publication is due to the fact that many advocates of pushing global human and Russian traditional spiritual values into education do not see themselves as professionals responsible for forming competencies for success at modern labour markets as well. Even the terms human capital, educators market, personal development program are strongly confronted by many teachers. But it is impossible not to talk about that. Especially after publishing State strategy of pedagogy in Russian Federation up to 2025 and its stating the task of forming national pedagogical ideal.

One of the most effective ways of integrating people with disabilities into society and ensuring their comprehensive personal development is to engage people with disabilities into Paralympic Games. Such engagement creates the necessary conditions to socialize people with disabilities, to adapt their physical and mental states to existing living conditions, to ease negative manifestations of their psycho-emotional states, to promote their self-realization. The article presents the results of the research determining the impact of sports on Paralympic athletes’ personal development. The comparison of the indicators of psychological well-being and hardiness of Paralympic athletes with normative values, the indicators shown by students without disabilities and students with disabilities has confirmed proven clear positive influence of sports on Paralympic athletes’ personal development. In particular, Paralympic athletes achieve an optimal level of psychological well-being and a significant increase in all psychological hardiness components.
