Objective:The demonstration of differences in grieving process between children mourning for the parent and adults grieving for their spouse.Method:Sub-structured clinical interviews were given to 10 adults and 10 children using the services of the Psychiatric Hospital of Petra Olympus to evaluate their reactions and grieving process.Discussion:2 of the evaluated children had outbursts of cries during the sessions. This behavior was the same at home.8 played the role of the ‘supportive adult’ to the grieving parent, not allowing themselves to express feelings of anger, grief, guilt, and fears. They didn't ask for support, in fear of becoming a burden to the rest of the family.Their parents noticed changes in sleep patterns, eating habits, and behavior. One child wasn't well-informed about the loss and didn't fully understand what had happened to the deceased. As for parents, 8 asked and received medical support and medication, whilst 2 started consuming alcohol. 6 were avoiding talking to their children and sharing their feelings, whereas 3 mentioned incapability to go on with their life. Conclusions:Children mourn in a different way from adults. Their grief may not be easily detected. The proper way of informing the child, the encouragement to the expression of feelings, the living memories of their late parent and the participation in the family grieving process (both for children and adults) are not causes of further stress and anxiety but lead to a better way of resolving the grieving process, offering comfort and relief.

This digital project examines the role of a cook book, Sanda Marin’s Carte de Bucate, first published in 1936,  as a vehicle for social education in Communist Romania. The book was censored and transformed during the Communist regime as two interconnected phenomena were taking place: the reinforcing of the ideology of the Communist model and an increasing economic crisis that led to scarcity of food. The paper also pays attention to how the language and tone used in the book changed depending on the understanding of gender roles in different decades. In spite of Communist claims of an equal division of responsibilities, procuring of food and cooking was considered a woman’s task.   By addressing equal responsibility in the public sphere, not at home, the progress toward gender equity reached after the War was completely erased during communism since women had to work and also be responsible for all domestic duties at home, a situation that has been similar in other eastern European countries to this day.

AbstractSchizophrenia is a mental illness that has a long-term impact. One of the symptoms of schizophrenia is hallucinations. Hallucinations are perceptual disturbances in which the client perceives something that does not exist. One of the things that families do is help family members by playing a role in assisting the clients in controlling hallucinations. The study aimed to determine the role of the family in reducing the hallucination symptoms of schizophrenic patients based on the available evidence. The literature review used Scopus, Science Direct, and GARUDA databases. Articles are selected based on the suitability of keywords, topics, as well as inclusion and exclusion criteria. The appraisal instrument by Hawker was used to select high-quality evidence. The findings of this study highlighted three levels of family roles in reducing symptoms of hallucinations in schizophrenic patients. The first level, the family must be able to see the patient's needs and maintain parental closeness. The second level, the family must be able to provide financial support for patient care, the family should be involved in groups that provide support as well. The third levels, all families must develop a good relationship to help patients with hallucinations to change their attitudes and behavior. Family roles are essential in reducing symptoms of hallucination in schizophrenic patients. This evidence can be used as scientific references to be applied as nursing care interventions. Keywords: Family Roles, Hallucinations, Schizophrenia AbstrakSkizofrenia merupakan penyakit kejiwaan yang memiliki dampak jangka panjang. AbstractStroke patients face a number of problems that include physical, social, emotional, psychological, and spiritual which can cause a decrease in their well-being. Strengthening the role of the family, family support, and preparation for care by the family at home is needed. One effort is to increase the knowledge of stroke patients and families through health education. This study aimed to determine the effect of health education on the knowledge of stroke patients and families on the role, support, and preparation of care at home. The research method used a quasi-experimental design with a one group pre-post test design. The study was conducted at Al Islam Bandung Hospital in 2018. Respondents consisted of 16 stroke patients and 16 stroke family families. The instrument uses a questionnaire. Data analysis using univariate and bivariate analysis. The results showed that before and after the intervention there were significant mean differences in the level of knowledge of patients from 7.94 to 10.38 (p = 0.002), but in the variable readiness of stroke patients there was no significant difference in average seen from the mean value of 14.25 became 15.88 (p = 0.411). In the patient's family, it was shown that before and after the intervention there was a significant of mean difference in the level of knowledge from 5.19 to 6.81 (p = 0.012). Conclusion: health education has been shown to be influential in increasing the level of knowledge of patients and their families regarding stroke, readiness, the role of family carers for stroke patients, psychological support, and preparation for the care of stroke patients at home. However, health education does not affect the level of readiness of stroke patients for transition. Suggestion: readiness to accept the transition in stroke patients is not enough only by health education alone but family participation is needed in providing support to these patients therefore it is recommended that nurses always support the family to support stroke patients.
