An empirical study of the relevance of the personal space concept when applied to adolescent family relationships was conducted with a sample of 40 intact, nonclinical families. Using the Family Approach-Stop Measure of personal space it was found that the spatial distance between the parents and an older adolescent was greater than the spatial distance between the parents and a younger adolescent. Using Pearson product moment correlations, it was found that there was a significant positive relationship between adolescent age and spatial distance between the adolescent and each of his or her parents.

ABSTRACTSize is a contingency variable that can influence firms’ performance. This study aims to contrast whether exists or not a significant relationship between organizational size and performance in agrifood firms, particularly in the case of Fruit and Vegetables Cooperatives in Spain. Therefore, an applied empirical study using regression analysis is carried out from economic and financial information of such companies obtained from official registers. The study shows that there is not a significant positive relationship between performance and size for such type of firms.

The article presents the results of a study of the psychological characteristics of familyparental relations of women who had previously served a sentence of imprisonment. An empirical study was conducted on the basis of K-2 of FPS of Russia in the Vologda region using a questionnaire on the study of family relationships and psychodiagnostic methods «The scale of the family environment» S. Yu. Kupriyanov and «Drawing-Family Techniques» by W. Hulse. Empirical research data suggest that convicted women who had previously served imprisonment have family-parent relationships that are characterized by emotional alienation, lack of understanding and support from family members. In this category of convicts, humanistic attitudes towards others are deformed, a low ability to constructively resolve conflict situations is manifested. The results obtained can be used by penitentiary psychologists in the implementation of psychological support for women who have previously served imprisonment.

This research is based on parents' thinking is an important learning motivator for children, including in adolescence, because the family is the first and main environment. Provision of appropriate parenting patterns should also follow a good child's learning motivation. This study aims to determine whether there is a significant positive relationship between the pattern of care with motivation in learning, and knowing where old parenting patterns have the motivation to learn. The research design used herein is correlative with the method. Data taken by using closed questionnaires. Data were analyzed using Spearman's rho test. With this method researchers collect as much data as possible about the dimensions of motivation to learn, then do the analysis of these dimensions to get the complete data and as objective as possible with the pattern of care and motivation to learn adolescents. Testing is done by t test. Based on the data analysis can be concluded there is a significant relationship between the pattern of care with adolescent learning motivation with a contribution of 18.8%, where again increased adolescent learning motivation caused by other factors.

Abstract. Immigrant parents face a double challenge in rearing their children in a foreign country. In addition to the tasks that all parents face, they must also try to find a balance between the norms and expectations of their heritage culture and those of the culture they live in. How do immigrant parents support their children and contribute to their positive adaptation? The goal of this review is to highlight selected aspects of parenting and family relationships that are strongly linked to children’s development and resilience. With regards to family processes, we underscore the contribution of fathers, the role of a potential acculturation gap between parents, and the benefit of speaking the heritage language in the family. For the connection to the world outside of the family, we highlight the advantage of having proficiency in the majority language and of parental involvement in schools. Finally, we outline the specific challenges and stressors as well as the importance of family relationships for families with refugee status. We conclude by making the case that immigrant parents should be encouraged and supported in rearing their children in a way that fosters family cohesion and reflects their heritage culture as well as the culture of the host country. This requires support and intervention programs that are not only culturally sensitive but are also two-generational and focus on mothers, fathers, and children.

Abstract Background Duration of Untreated Psychosis (DUP) is one of the important factors that affect the prognosis of schizophrenia. This study aimed to investigate the effects of personality trait and family relationships on delayed treatment of schizophrenia. Methods The subjects were 169 patients diagnosed with first-episode schizophrenia. It is a prospective study examined the socio-demographic factors with positive and negative syndrome (PANSS) and social occupational function (SOFAS). Personality trait was investigated with the Big Five Inventory (BFI-10) and family cohesion was investigated with the Family Adaptability and Cohesion Evaluation Scales-III (FACES-III). The DUP was defined as the time period from the appearance of the first psychotic symptoms for more than several days to the time when antipsychotic treatment began. Groups were divided according to the median value of the DUP. Results The average DUP was 12.0 months and the median value was 3.0 months. In long DUP group, age is significantly older, the PANSS score was significantly higher and the SOFAS score was significantly lower. Logistic regression analysis showed that long DUP was associated with the conscientiousness of the BFI-10 (OR = 2.175, p = 0.004) and lower level of family cohesion of FACES-III (OR = 0.930, p = 0.025). Discussion As a result of the study, treatment delay of psychosis was associated with lower cohesion and adaptability of family function and the tendency of the personality with conscientiousness. These suggest that the role of the family in accessing mental health services is important when the initial symptoms of schizophrenia develop.

This study aims at emphasizing the functions of Human Resources(HR)  that are regarded as the main source  to cope with the problems and to reach the goals. The study deals with the SMEs in the Organized Industrial Zone in Manisa. The data collected from these institutions by through surveys have been subjected to factor analysis and thus seven factors have beeen defined. These factors are namely education, performance, evaluation, wage policy, managerial transparency, human resources database, career management, and occupational health and safety. Through the analysis, it has been found out that the increase in operating period doesn’t have a significant effect on HR functions. Another finding in the study is that professional companies are more effective in the struggle of embedding HR functions into the instutional base than the family companies. Yet another finding is that there is a significant positive relationship between the size of SMEs and the HR functions.

Abstract. Factor analysis of nested data is a challenge for researchers when they need to accurately identify the most appropriate latent configuration of self-report instruments. The present study used a multilevel framework to evaluate the factor structure underlying the 12-item three-factor Family Relationships Index (FRI), while adapting this instrument to the Italian context. By way of separating the two sources of variance (within and between families), results from 231 family members nested in 77 family triads supported a three-factor model (i.e., family cohesion, communication, and conflict resolution). Multilevel confirmatory factor analysis (MCFA) corroborated this model at the family level in particular. A one-factor model was also tested but resulted in being less suitable at both the individual (within) and family (between) level of analysis. Finally, we consider challenges in using such statistical techniques, while taking into account the FRI’s briefness and easiness to complete and score it in a practice-oriented assessment perspective.

Introduction: Usutu Virus (USUV) is a vector-borne flavivirus within the family of Flaviviridae; its reservoirs and vectors are birds and mosquitoes, respectively. Methods: At first, electronic databases were searched with a date range from 2000 to 2018 to find the Culex species that transmit the disease and then for determining the diversity of those, mosquito larvae were collected from six places in three main environmental categories using the dipping technique. Results: In total, 1369 specimens belonging to 10 different species were collected and identified, as follows: Cx. hortensis Ficalbi, Cx. laticinctus Edwards, Cx. mimeticus Noe, Cx. perxigus Theobald, Cx. pipiens Linnaeus, Cx. modestus Ficalbi, Cx. sinaiticus Kirkpatrick, Cx. theileri Theobald Cx. torrentium Martini and Cx. tritaeniorhynchus Giles. Four species involved as vectors of USUV in other countries are printed in bold. Cx.pipiens, as the main vector was the most frequent species in rural areas, share its larval habitats with Cx. torrentium (similarity > 0.9) and reached its peak in August. Overall, in the present study, there was a significant positive relationship between mean temperatures and abundance of mosquitoes (r = 0.75, P = 0.005). Conclusion: In the present study, some species involved as main vectors of USUV in other countries and their ecological features were recorded. Based on these results, the possibility of the emergence of USUV in Iran exists.

Love is more than a close friendship. It acts as a major facilitator of interpersonal relationship. Love is positive in nature and leaves a positive affect on every individual. An individual in love not only feels positive but spreads positivity around. They smile, be kind to other people, behave compassionately with everyone. If the person is happy then he is likely to be psychologically and emotionally healthy. The current study aimed at understanding the relationship between love, affect and wellbeing among young females aged between 20-25 years. The study reported a significant positive relationship between love and positive affect with the significant correlation of 0.29 at 0.05 levels (p<0.05). It was also found a significant positive relationship between love and wellbeing with the significant correlation of 0.58 at 0.01 level (p<0.01). This means that people in love experience positive emotions and healthy wellbeing. The correlation between love and negative affect came out to be insignificant. The correlation turned out to be -0.13. This means that people in love do not experience negative emotions.

Intensified anxiety responses and even symptoms of post-traumatic stress are commonly observed under quarantine conditions. In this study, the effects on fear, anxiety and wellbeing of the recent pandemic caused by SARS-CoV-2 were investigated in a sample of otherwise healthy Hungarians. Taking the family as a microsystem, differences in gender, age, family relationships and time spent in isolation were the main focus of this investigation. 346 parent-child dyads were examined; the children were 11-17 years of age. Standard psychological questionnaires (Perceived Stress Scale, WHO Wellbeing Index), and an open question test (the Metamorphosis test) were used, and the results analysed with the aid of basic statistical methods. Stress levels and wellbeing displayed a significant negative correlation with each other in both parents and children. Parental stress and levels of wellbeing had a weak but significant impact on the wellbeing of their children. Among the demographic variables examined, none of them was found to explain the wellbeing or stress level of parents. Natural catastrophes, such as pandemics, create a stressful social environment for parents, and therefore directly impact the psychological wellbeing of all family members.
