Pendahuluan: Lidah mertua (Sansevieria trifasciata) dan sereh (Cymbopogon citrates)  merupakan tanaman yang memiliki banyak manfaat. Banyak orang telah memanfaatkan tanaman ini sebagai tanaman hias di rumah. Disisi lain, tanaman ini memberikan manfaat yang luar biasa dalam mengurangi kadar polusi udara. Zat beracun karbondioksida, benzene, formaldehyde, trichloroethylene, mampu di serap oleh tanaman ini. Lingkungan perkotaan kaya sekali akan zat pencemar, sehingga penelitian ini dilakuan. Adapun tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kemampuan tanaman lidah mertua dan sereh dalam menyerap kadar CO asap rokok ruangan.Metode: Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini merupakan true eksperimental dengan desain pretest dan postest. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan prosedur pengeringan tanaman mengunakan oven pengering selama 24 jam dan 48 jam dengan suhu 60 oC. Dilakukan dengan dua kali pengulangan 2,5 dan 5 gram. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif.Hasil: Ekstrak tanaman lidah mertua (Sansevieria trifasciata) dan sereh (Cymbopogon citrates) dengan pengovenan 48 jam lebih baik dalam penyerapan CO ruangan yang disebabkan oleh asap rokok dibandingkan dengan pengovenan selama 24 jamSimpulan: Penelitian ini menghasilkan bahwa ekstraksi lidah mertua dan sereh dapat menyerap kadar CO ruangan secara maksimal pada pengeringan 48 jam. ABSTRACT Tittle: The efectifity extraction of Sansevieria trifasciata and Cymbopogon citrates to reduce in door CO levelIntroduction: Snake plant (Sansevieria trifasciata) and lemon grass (Cymbopogon citrates have many benefits. Many people have used this plant as an ornamental plant inside home. On the other hand, this plant provides tremendous benefits in reducing air pollution levels. Toxic substances carbon dioxide, benzene, formaldehyde, trichlorethylene, can be absorbed by this plant. The urban environment is very rich in pollutants, so this research was carried out. The purpose of this study was to determine the ability of the in-laws and lemongrass tongue plants to absorb CO levels in indoor cigarette smoke.Methods: The method used in this research was the experimental research with pre-test and post-test designs. This research was conducted by drying the plants using a drying oven for 24 hours and 48 hours with a temperature of 60 oC. Performed in two repetitions of 2.5 and 5 grams.Results: The results of the extraction were exposed in a room treated with cigarette smoke with repetitions of 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 minutes. Room CO levels were measured using a CO meter.Conclusion: This study shows that the snake plants and lemon grass extract can absorb room CO levels maximally at 48 hours of drying.

This research aimed find out the effectiveness of using big story book project (BSBP) in teaching reading comprehension and to know the advantages and the disadvantages of using BSBP in teaching reading comprehension. The researcher applied pre-experimental research design and consists of pre-test, treatment and post-test in order to find whether the big story book project (BSBP) effective in teaching reading comprehension. The instruments used in this research were reading test and questionnaire. The result from this research shows that using big story book project (BSBP) in teaching reading comprehension is effective. It is proved by the result that there is significant difference between the result of the students’ mean score in the pre-test and the post-test. In the pre-test, the students’ mean score is (43.79) and in the post-test is (80.37). Furthermore, it is proved by the probability value is smaller than α (0.00 < 0.05). On the other word, BSBP has advantages to the students if applied in teaching and learning process, especially in reading subject.

The article deals with the problem of the negative impact of sewage gases on the sanitary and environmental conditions of the urban environment. There was performed monitoring of gases at a section of the sewer network with three observation wells as the most common type of structures. To control gas concentration, measuring equipment was installed in the wells for twenty four hours. According to the results of the survey, there was established the presence of methane and an increased content of carbon dioxide in the system. Also, a one-shot measurement of gas concentration in the environment near the wells was carried out. Based on the monitoring results at the observation wells, a low potential of the air pollution has been identified.

Introduction: Although many studies on Isfahan’s air pollution have been done, there is no report about the effects of cigarette consumption in Isfahan. The aims of this study were (a) to find the amount of nitrogen oxides, hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide emitted by cigarette consumption in Isfahan; and (b) to model the distribution of such pollutants in Isfahan’s atmosphere. Materials and methods: Based on the literature, it is assumed that 15% of Isfahan’s people consume cigarettes and each smoker on average smokes 1,147 cigarettes per year. Based on these assumptions, the 249,000 smokers living in Isfahan consume 285,000,000 cigarettes per year. The amount of pollutant emissions was calculated by existing emission factors for cigarette consumption. Finally, the distribution of the emitted pollutants from cigarette consumption in Isfahan’s atmosphere was modeled using AERMOD. Results: The results illustrated that each year, 2.85 kg nitrogen oxides, 2.85 kg hydrocarbons, 37.05 kg carbon monoxide and 142.5 kg carbon dioxide are emitted into Isfahan’s atmosphere from residents’ smoking. The modeling of pollutants’ dispersion in Isfahan’s atmosphere showed that only some of these pollutants result from cigarette consumption. Conclusion: This study demonstrated that the amount of pollutants emitted by cigarette consumption was negligible compared to the other pollutant sources in Isfahan.

Students sometimes face some difficulties to make a writing. They have difficulties to change the sentence into a good paragraph and how to combine it as a good text structure. This research used a spatial order technique in writing a descriptive text. Spatial Order is a technique of writing based on the space in the order. The purpose of the research is to know the effectiveness of the spatial order technique in writing a descriptive text, and how is the student's response towards it. The research is conducted in MA Sains Roudlotul Qur'an. The research used pre-experimental research with one group pre-test and post-test design. The sample is X MIPA 2 class with using purposive sampling technique to choose the sample. The data from the test is analyzed using t-test checking to find the significance of the data. On the other hand, the data from the questionnaire is analyzed with finding the percentage of the data. The result of the research shows that the number of t-tests which is to find the effectiveness of the technique is 6,65. It is higher than t-table score at significance 0,1 that is (t-test=6,65 > t-table =1,69). By means, Ha that it is Effective to use spatial order in writing a descriptive text is accepted. On the other hand, the respond of the students showed that 78% of the students give positive feedback in using this technique. By means, the students give a positive response to this technique.Keywords: Spatial Order, descriptive text

Determining the main patterns influencing the formation of urban meteorological transformations in cities, establishing mechanisms of interaction between components of the urban environment, development of methods, approaches, and preparation of algorithms for obtaining objective information about the urban environment are very important and urgent tasks which determine the development of urban meteorology as a science and have important practical significance. The aim of this work is the development of the algorithm of complex urban meteorological assessment for objective identification of transformations in the atmospheric environment of big cities. The methodological basis of the research is the concept of interaction of urban meteorological components of the city. The results of the latest meteorological studies of urban areas are systematized in this work. It is shown the close relationships between the urban meteorological components (microclimate, bioclimate, air pollution, and climate change and vulnerability to it) and their significant influence on the formation of each other. The necessity of the development of a complex urban meteorological assessment algorithm is substantiated and such an algorithm is offered. The algorithm consists of four basic stages and one which can be realized optionally. The assessment of microclimatic features of separate sites of the territory should be carried out at the first stage. The second stage of the assessment should be the study of the specific urban bioclimate, as the UHI existence, wind speed reduction and associated changes in urban energy balance within the city lead to the formation of specific bioclimatic conditions in urban areas. The third stage of the assessment should be devoted to the evaluation of air pollution levels in the urban environment. The city’s climate change vulnerability assessment should be done at the fourth stage. Features of realization of each stage are described in detail.

Udara merupakan unsur terpenting  dalam kehidupan manusia. polusi udara      muncul menjadi masalah yang serius di kota-kota besar, polutan yang ada di udara   tersebut berbahaya bagi kesehatan manusia dan lingkungan. Udara yang berada disekeliling bumi yang fungsinya sangat penting bagi kehidupan di dunia ini. Dalam udara terdapat unsur oksigen (O2) untuk bernafas, karbon dioksida (CO2) untuk proses fotosintesis oleh klorofil pada daun dan ozon (O3) untuk menahan sinar ultra violet. Susunan (komposisi) udara bersih dan kering, tersusun oleh: Nitrogen (N2) 78,09%, Oksigen (O2) 21,94%, Argon (Ar) 0,93%, Karbon dioksida 0,032%. Untuk menyelesaikan masalah tersebut membuat perancangan dan implementasi alat pengukur tingkat polusi udara karbon monoksida dan debu berbasis website menggunakan raspberry pi. Bertujuan untuk mengetahui kadar polusi udara karbon monoksida dan debu. Supaya dapat dimonitoring melalui handphone dan laptop. Hasil dari alat perancangan dan implementasi alat pengukur tingkat polusi udara karbon monoksida dan debu. Untuk mengukur sebuah karbon monoksida dan mengukur debu pada polutan di luar ruangan seperti jalan raya yang dapat dimonitoring melalui handphone dan laptop. Dengan pengujian pada waktu berangkat kerja, waktu makan siang, dan waktu pulang kerja.Air is the most important element in human life. Air pollution appears to be a serious problem in big cities, the pollutants in the air are harmful to human health and the environment. The air that surrounds the earth whose function is very important for life in this world. In the air there are elements of oxygen (O2) for breathing, carbon dioxide (CO2) for photosynthesis by chlorophyll in leaves and ozone (O3) to withstand ultraviolet rays. Composition (composition) of clean and dry air, composed of: Nitrogen (N2) 78.09%, Oxygen (O2) 21.94%, Argon (Ar) 0.93%, Carbon dioxide 0.032%. To solve this problem, we designed and implemented a website-based carbon monoxide and dust level measuring device using raspberry pi. Aims to determine air pollution levels of carbon monoxide and dust. So that it can be monitored via cellphones and laptops. The results of the tool design and implementation of measuring devices for air pollution levels of carbon monoxide and dust. To measure a carbon monoxide and measure dust in outdoor pollutants such as roads that can be monitored via cellphones and laptops. By testing on the time to go to work, lunch time, and time to come home from work.

This study was conducted to know the effect of applying Peer Review Strategy on the students’ achievement in writing descriptive paragraph. It was conducted by using experimental research method. This research design was conducted pre-test, post test in experimental and control group. The population of this research was the eight (VIII) grade students of SMP IT IQRA’ Medan. The sample of this research was taken by lottery technique. They were in class VIII-1 by experimental group and the class VIII-2 by control group. The experimental group was taught by using Peer Review Strategy while the control group was given no treatment. The instrument used to collect the data was writing essay test. The data were analyzed by using t-test formula. The result showed that the value of t-observed was higher than the value of t-table. (3,55 > 2,05 (a = 0.05)) with the degree of freedom (df) = 28. It means that there was a significant effect of applying Peer Review Strategy on the students’ achievement in writing descriptive paragraph. So, the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted.

<p><em>This research was conducted at TK Islam Ibnu Qoyyim, Medan Selayang District. Tthe type of research is experimental research with uses Quasi Experimental Designs. This study aims to determine the influence of Maria Montessori's learning model on the discipline of children in TK Islam Ibnu Qoyyim. The results showed that the Montessori learning model had an effect on the discipline of group A children. The results of the pretest class were 9.3 and the post-test average was 16.80 with the highest post-test 20 and the lowest post-test 12. Class control with an average pre test 9.7 and the average post test 11.7 with the highest value 16 and the lowest value 7. The results of hypothesis testing obtained t count&gt; t table is 18.31&gt; 2.048 with significant numbers. Thus the hypothesis Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted so that it is stated that there is a Significant Effect of Maria Montessori's Learning Model on the Discipline of Group A Children 4-5 Years Old in the TK Islam Ibnu Qoyyim.</em><em></em></p>

The protection of the environment and people’s health from negative influences of the pollution of air as a medium of the environment requires constant observing of the air quality in accordance with international standards, the analysis of emission and imission of polluting matters in the air, and their connection with the sources of pollution. Having in mind the series of laws and delegated legislations which define the field of air pollution, it is necessary to closely observe these long-term processes, discovering cause-and-effect relationships between the activities of anthropogenic sources of emission of polluting matters and the level of air degradation. The relevant evaluation of the air quality of a certain area can be conducted if the level of concentration of polluting matters characteristic for the pollution sources of this area is observed in a longer period of time. The data obtained by the observation of the air pollution are the basis for creation of the recovery program of a certain area. Vranje is a town in South Serbia where there is a bigger number of anthropogenic pollution sources that can significantly diminish the air quality. The cause-and-effect relationship of the anthropogenic sources of pollution is conducted related to the analysis of systematized data which are in the relevant data base of the authorized institution The Institute of Public Health Vranje, for the time period between the year of 2012. and 2017. By the analysis of data of imission concentrations of typical polluting matters, the dominant polluting matters were determined on the territory of the town of Vranje, the ones that are the causers of the biggest air pollution and the risk for people’s health. Analysis of the concentration of soot, sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides indicates their presence in the air of Vranje town area in concentrations that do not exceed the permitted limit values annually. The greatest pollution is caused by the soot content in the air, especially in the winter period when the highest number of days with the values above the limit was registered. By perceiving the influence of natural and anthropogenic factors, it is clear that the concentration of polluting matters can be decreased only by establishing control over anthropogenic sources of pollution, and thus it can be contributed to the improvement of the air quality of this urban environment.
