Learners tend to get bored in learning Graph Theory and this results them getting low performance. Thus, this study was conducted to find empirical evidence on the attempt of having an innovative approach in teaching graph theory through the utilization of games to college students. This study was a pre - experimental research in which pretest-post test was used. Moreover, it also utilized a qualitative research method to find out learners’ feedback on the approach. The learners have their permanent group assignment and games were utilized for every topic. Pretest and post test were administered. The test scores were recorded, tabulated, analyzed and interpreted. Data were analyzed using paired-sample t-test. Results revealed a highly significant difference from pretest to post test of the students. Additionally, students give positive feedback on the attempt of this innovative approach in teaching graph theory. Such that, the following are some of their response: “I am excited to study graph theory because of games”, “I look forward to games every meeting”, etc. Therefore, college students exposed to games while learning shows very high knowledge in Graph Theory.

Video captioning is a useful tool for language learning. In the literature, video captioning has been investigated by many studies and the results indicated that video captioning may foster vocabulary learning. Most of the previous studies have investigated the effect of full captions on vocabulary learning. One of the key aspects of vocabulary learning is pronunciation. However, the use of mobile devices for teaching pronunciation has not been investigated conclusively. Therefore, this paper attempts to examine the effect of implementing keyword video captioning on L2 pronunciation using mobile devices. Thirty-four Arab EFL university learners participated in this study and were randomly assigned to two groups (key-word captioned video and full captioned video). The study is an experimental one in which pre- and post-tests were administered to both groups. The results indicated that keyword captioning is a useful mode to improve learner’s pronunciation. The post test results indicate that there was no statistically significant difference between the two modes of captioning on vocabulary learning. However, learners at keyword video captioning performed better that full video captioning.

Failure of therapy is a result of bad adherence  medication. Non-adherence to therapy is a major factor that is suspected to result in uncontrolled blood pressure in hypertensive patients resulting in more serious complications. Therefore it is important to increase the adherence rate of treatment in patients with hypertension in the treatment process. For this reason, the need for interventions to improve  adherence  with several aspects that can be changed. This study uses One Group Pretest-Posttest Design using 100 samples. Data derived from questionnaires containing 25 items of adherence to therapy, 5 items of knowledge, 4 items of trust, 3 items of motivation, 10 items of family support with nonparametric statistical tests used were Mc Nemar test. Mc Nemar test results indicate that there is a significant difference between adherence at the pre-test and at the post-test after counseling with a significance value (p = 0,000). The results also showed that there was a difference in knowledge with a significance value (p = 0.001), motivation with a value (p = 0.031) and family support with a value (p = 0,000). The education with counseling about knowledge, trust, motivation and family support is effective in increasing compliance. There are other changeable factors such as lifestyle education, patient doctor relationships, and the use of smartphone applications for self-reported therapy can improve adherence in patients thereby minimizing therapy failure. Other educational methods that can be used besides counseling are counseling and dissemination of social media information.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of a creative-comprehensive approach (CCA) when compared with a performance approach (PA) on the acquisition of basic music concepts and skills by general college students. In the CCA, students were directly involved in the process of creating original music by assuming the roles of composer, performer, and analytic listener. Students in the PA were engaged in the performance and aural analysis of preselected folk and traditional music. A pretest-posttest design involving intact groups was used as the method of research. The resulting effects of the two instructional modes on three dependent variables revealed no difference in achievement on aural discrimination competence from pretest to post-test in the sampled groups. There was, however, evidence suggesting that the CCA was superior to the PA in developing students' self-confidence in dealing with basic music concepts and skills. Additional data indicated a slight, but not significant, difference in performance achievement between the two groups in favor of the CCA.

Sensitive period is the right time to instill the basis of the importance of counting. In addition to counting skills that must be developed also pay attention to the application of learning used. However, in the learning process, teachers often forget the importance of playing methods. If too often with giving assignments the child will feel bored, therefore what is used is the method of playing. Play method is one method that can be used by teachers to teach the ability to count children in the beginning. Based on this background, the purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the use of playing methods on initial numeracy skills. This study used the Quasi Experiment method with the Nonequevalent Control Group Design research design. The results of the pre test showed that there were no significant differences in the experimental group and the control group with p-value> 0.05, which was 0.135> 0.05 which was tested by the two average test results. While the post-test results showed that the initial numeracy ability after the application of the playing method experienced a significant difference with the p-value <0.05, that is with the results of 0.0001 with the Mann-Whitney test. This method of playing can be used as a learning suggestion for educators to improve their ability to have an early start.

We examined the potential different effectiveness of an online homework system (IXL) and the traditional paper-and-pencil homework. A study involving 98 participants was conducted in a middle school (grade 8). We compared the post-test results from the online homework group with the traditional homework group. Both homework assignment effect (class-level) and homework completion effect (student-level) proposed by Trautwein (2007) were investigated. No significant difference was found among the students who were assigned different types of homework (class-level). We conclude that IXL is as effective as the traditional homework on students' learning. Meanwhile, not surprisingly, we revealed that students who complete the homework outperformed the students who did not (student-level). We suggest that teachers give students an option to do online or traditional homework based on their preference, as long as they complete the homework.
