As Computer-Assisted Language Learning (CALL) has taken an important role in foreign language teaching and learning, not only is concrete data about the usefulness of technology- mediated environments for these purposes necessary, but also how the learning process is improved in such environments when learner training for CALL. The objective of this paper is to present an investigation which sought to explore empirical evidence regarding the effectiveness of a blended learning model, and also the use of language learning strategies in this kind of learning environment in order to increase its methodological potency with language learners. Consequently, this paper shows the findings of 2 experimental studies which aimed to provide data on (1) the efficiency of a blended learning (BL) model for language teaching and learning which combined task-based instruction, cooperative learning and optimal methodological principles for online learning (Doughty & Long, 2003), and (2) the use of learner training strategies for CALL in order to support and enhance the language learning process in this blended learning environment. The results from both studies suggest that the experimental group improved their language proficiency when compared to the control group. As a result, it is possible to conclude that (1) the blended learning design that included online tasks and cooperative instruction was beneficial for the development of language skills and (2) the use of learner training strategies for the blended learning model was highly beneficial for the students' language learning experience.

The purposes of this study were to develop a blended learning model using Edmodo as a learning tool in language learning and examine the effectiveness of the model implemented in an English course regarding oral proficiency, motivation, and attitude. To achieve these purposes, a quasi-experimental design was employed to collect data using the tests and questionnaires. The samples in this study were the second-year students enrolled in an intermediate English course. The samples were from two classes, each of which contained 42 students. One class was used for the control group; another one for the experimental group. In the control group, students were only taught in a face-to-face learning environment using the PPP model whereas the experimental group studied through the PPP model in class supported by online learning using Edmodo. The findings indicate that blended learning was more effective than traditional learning. That is, students in the experimental group not only outperformed those in the control group in oral proficiency, but they also exhibited higher learning motivation. Although students in both groups did not differ in their attitude toward the PPP model, those in the experimental group expressed a positive attitude toward Edmodo. The findings of this study have implications for English language instructors, encouraging them to see how technology can facilitate learning and help learners produce better academic performance.

The teachers are required to be able to adapt and develop their learning model in post-new normal condition at this time, the model should make the students understand the material being taught easier. In addition, teachers must also be able to apply face-to-face (traditional) and non-face-to-face (online) models. Therefore, to solve the problem, there is an appropriate learning model, namely blended learning. This article aims to examine in-depth thinking about the implementation of this learning model with the literature review method. Indeed, the blended learning model is a learning process that utilizes various approaches (i.e., media and technology) both offline and online. moreover, it can improve students’ access in accessing learning materials, enhance their new experiences, improve the quality of learning, and reduce learning costs. As result, this article indicates that a theoretically blended learning model can be a learning model in post-new normal at the school and university, but further research is still needed to examine the effectiveness of blended learning implementation.

Abstract. In general, the learning process is implemented by using face-to-face model, meaning that participants and teachers are in one place and one time. With this model, usually communication between participants and teachers can be easily implemented. But there are some obstacles that may be faced, such as the lack of time to discuss and the limited space that can be used. To overcome these problems, a model is needed that provides a medium for meeting participants and teachers without limited space and time. The model is known as blended learning. The blended learning model allows participants and teachers to discuss, share material and practice questions on a virtual classroom. The research undertaken is to develop a blended learning model using an analysis of the blended learning implementation framework and the use of Content Management System (CMS) WordPress technology. With this model is expected to be an additional media used to support teaching and learning process. Keywords: blended learning; virtual class; wordpress.

This research is based on learning problems that cannot be carried out face-to-face because of the prolonged Covid-19 pandemic condition until now, so learning must be carried out by blended learning or face-to-face distance at private Islamic high schools throughout Palangka Raya to reduce the spread of the virus. Covid-19 continues to increase. For this reason, the formulation of the problem in this study is 1) How is the effectiveness of PAI learning with blended learning models in private Islamic high schools throughout Palangka Raya? 2) What are the teacher's obstacles in the PAI learning process with the blended learning model in private Islamic high schools throughout Palangka Raya? This study aims to describe the effectiveness of PAI learning with the blended learning model and the teacher's obstacles in the learning process at private Islamic high schools throughout Palangka Raya. This research was conducted using the descriptive qualitative method. This research was conducted at SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Palangka Raya, SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Palangka Raya and SMA Nahdatul Ulama Palangka Raya. The subjects of this research are teachers who teach PAI subjects. For data collection using observation techniques, interviews, and documentation. The data validation technique uses persistence and constancy of observation and triangulation. Meanwhile, data analysis was carried out using data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing/verification. The results of this study indicate that: 1) The effectiveness of PAI learning with the blended learning model in private Islamic high schools throughout Palangka Raya is still not maximized because students' interest and motivation to learn decreases and students feel bored with the distance learning model or blended learning so that the strategy used by the teacher in teaching can not run optimally. In addition, the small allocation of learning time also causes the explanation of the material to be less effective. 2) The teacher's obstacle in the learning process is the lack of student participation in learning. This is because the main obstacles that occur are the difficulty of the signal and the weak internet network that occurs to students. In addition, the limited quota is also an obstacle for students who have economic limitations.
