This research aims to estimate returns to secondary education in Indonesia, especially senior and vocational high school, and its development in 2015 and 2018. Data from Indonesia National Labor Force Survey (NFLS) 2015 and 2018 are used here. Returns are estimated using Two-Step Heckman Method. The results are, in 2015, returns to senior high school (9,32%) are higher than vocational high school (8,89%). However, in 2018, returns to vocational high school (9,53%) are higher than senior high school (9,41%). This shift is caused by the increasing number of vocational school graduates absorbed in workforce and increasing income of vocational school workforce. -------------------------------- Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perkembangan tingkat pengembalian investasi pendidikan menengah di Indonesia, khususnya jenjang SMA dan SMK, serta perkembangannya pada tahun 2015 dan 2018. Data yang digunakan adalah Data Survei Angkatan Kerja Nasional (Sakernas) Indonesia tahun 2015 dan 2018. Estimasi tingkat pengembalian investasi pendidikan dilakukan dengan Metode Two-Step Heckman. Hasilnya, pada tahun 2015, tingkat pengembalian investasi pendidikan SMA (9,32%) lebih tinggi daripada SMK (8,89%). Namun pada tahun 2018, tingkat pengembalian investasi pendidikan SMK (9,53%) lebih tinggi daripada SMA (9,41%). Pergeseran ini disebabkan oleh semakin banyaknya lulusan SMK yang terserap di lapangan kerja serta meningkatnya penghasilan tenaga kerja lulusan SMK.

DESKRIPSI SMA DAN SMK DI KABUPATEN MINAHASA TENGGARA BERDASARKAN INDIKATOR STANDAR NASIONAL PENDIDIKAN BERBASIS EVALUASI DIRI SEKOLAH (Standar Kompetensi Lulusan, Standar Isi, Standar Proses, Standar Pendidik dan Tenaga Kependidikan) ABSTRAK Tujuan penelitian ini adalah: Mendeskripsikan Sekolah Menengah Atas/Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMA/SMK) di Kabupaten Minahasa Tenggara berdasarkan 4 Standar Nasional Pendidikan (Standar Kompetensi Lulusan, Standar Isi, Standar Proses, Standar Pendidik dan Tenaga Kependidikan) yang berbasis Evaluasi Diri Sekolah (EDS). Gambaran umum SMA dan SMK berdasrkan peubah-peubah standar pendidikan diharapkan dapat memberikan informasi tentang mutu masing-masing SMA dan SMK dikabupaten Minahasa Tenggara. Penelitian ini akan dilaksanakan dengan mengambil data primer di 11 SMA/SMK yang berada di Kabupaten MITRA.  Masing-masing sekolah dilakukan wawancara terhadap 5 guru dan Kepala Sekolah dengan kuisioner berbasis Evaluasi Diri Sekolah. Peubah-peubah yang diamati adalah Standar Kompetensi Lulusan, Standar Isi, Standar Proses, Standar Pendidikan dan Tenaga Kependidikan. Data akan dianlisis dengan menggunakan perangkat lunak Komputer. Hasilnya, menunjukan bahwa SMA Negeri 1 Ratahan (S2), SMA Negeri 2 Ratahan (S3), SMK Negeri 1 Ratahan (S4), SMA Negeri 1 Touluaan (S5), SMK Negeri 1 Touluaan (S6), SMA Negeri 1 Belang (S9), SMA Negeri 1 Posumaen (S10), SMK Nasional Malompar (S12) memiliki karateristik penilaian yang hampir sama pada Standar Pendidik dan Tenaga Kependidikan. General overview of SHS and VS based on those variables educational standards was expected to provide the information about the quality of each senior high school and vocational high school in Southeast Minahasa Regency. This study would be conducted by taking the primary data in 11 senior high school/vocational school located in the district of Southeast Minahasa.  Each school conducted interviews with five teachers and headmasters with the School Self-Evaluation-based questionnaire. Variables measured were standards of Graduates Competency, Content Standards, Process Standards, and Standards of administrative  and Education Personnel. Data analysis will using the computer software. As a result, show that Public Senior High School 1 of Ratahan (S2), Public Senior High School 2 of Ratahan (S3), Public Vocational School 1 of Ratahan (S4), Public Senior High School 1 of Touluaan (S5), Public Vocational School 1 of Touluaan (S6), Public Senior High School 1 of Belang (S9 ), Public Senior High School 1 of Posumaen (S10), the National Vocational School of Malompar (S12) has characteristics similar ratings on Standards of administative and Education Personnel. Retrieved also that Variables Graduates Competency Standards, Content Standards, Process Standard, Standards of administrative and Education Personnel, which does not significantly influence the Dependent Variabel  that is School Accreditation. This study dealt with the development of English Reading Materials of vocational school, Al-WashliyahTeladan Medan, majoring Software Engineering. The objectives of this study were to: 1) find out language skill and materials are needed by the students of Software Engineering, 2) develop the English materials for the majoring in software engineering students at the vocational high school grade XII. This study was conducted by Educational Research and Development R&D (Borg & Gall, 1989). The data of this research were from existing documents and the result of interview with teacher and student. The results of the research conveyed that the existing reading materials were mostly irrelevant because the title and content of the material was not appropriate and was not required for the students majoring in software engineering. The new English reading materials and syllabus were developed based on the students need related to the workplace. The materials and syllabus were developed from the existing materials from teacher. The developing materials were validated by two experts.

The purpose of this research is (1) analyze student’s concept in answering the association test, (2) analyze the concept of understanding  relationship  to  answer  the test depends on the student’s school origin.The method used in this research is qualitative with case study approach. In clustering sampling technique the subject was used in this research is 6 students, shared  in  3  groups.  They  are  2  students come from public vocational school, 2 students come from public senior high school and 2 students come from private senior high school and vocational school. Data was collected through test and interview.   Data   analysis   used   in   this research refers to Milles and Huberman in Moellong’s book; they are data reduction, data display and conclusion drawing. The result showed that the student’s understanding is various enough in answering the  set  test.  Depending on  the first subject analysis (S1) who came from private school, he did not understand about the concept of set. The second subject analysis (S2) and the third subject analysis (S3)  who  came  from  public  school,  they had understood. But, they need to be careful and patient to avoid the mistakes. The data which  had  gained from deeply interview, showed that the subject analysis (S1), (S2) and (S3) were able to indicate the relationship of school origin with the student’s concept of understanding within answering the set test.

Abstrak: Analisis Prestasi Belajar Mahasiswa Lulusan Sekolah Menengah Umum dan Sekolah Menengan Kejuruan. Penelitian bertujuan untuk menganalisis perbedaan prestasi belajar mahasiswa lulusan Sekolah Menengah Umum dan Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan dan untuk menganalisis faktor yang mendukung dan menghambat prestasi belajar mahasiswa.. Subjek penelitian adalah mahasiswa pada program studi Pendidikan Administrasi Perkantoran Fakultas Ilmu Sosial Universitas Negeri Makassar. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif,  jenis ex post facto dengan eksplanasi komparatif. Populasi pada penelitian ini sebanyak 335 mahasiswa. Sampel penelitian sebanyak 167 mahasiswa yang diambil menggunakan metode probability sampling.  Pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Pengujian hipotesis menggunakan uji F, anava, dan t-Test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: 1) Prestasi belajar mahasiswa lulusan Sekolah Menengah Umum rata-rata 3,72 dan  lulusan Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan rata-rata 3,77; 2) Tidak terdapat perbedaan signifikan prestasi belajar antara mahasiswa lulusan Sekolah Menengah Umum dan Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan; 3) Faktor-faktor pendukung prestasi belajar meliputi: motivasi belajar, inteligensi, konsentrasi, tujuan yang ingin dicapai, rajin kuliah dan mengerjakan tugas, keaktifan dalam perkuliahan, manajemen waktu yang baik, suasana belajar yang kondusif, dan hubungan mahasiswa dengan dosen. Faktor penghambat: malas, jarak tempat tinggal yang jauh, persepsi mahasiswa salah jurusan, jadwal  kuliah sore, dan metode pembelajaran yang monoton. Kata kunci: prestasi belajar; indeks prestasi komulatif; hasil belajar; sekolah menengah umum; sekolah  menengah kejuruan.  Abstract: Analysis of Student Achievement of Graduates of Senior High School and Vocational High School. The research aims to analyze the differences in the learning achievement of students who graduate from Senior High School and Vocational High School and to analyze the factors that support and hinder student achievement. The research subjects are students in the Office Administration Education study program, Faculty of Social Sciences, Makassar State University. This research uses a quantitative approach, ex post facto type with comparative explanation. The population in this study were 335 students. The research sample was 167 students who were taken using probability sampling method. Collecting data using observation, interview, and documentation techniques. Hypothesis testing uses the F test, ANOVA, and t-Test. The results showed: 1) The learning achievement of students graduating from Senior High School was 3.72 on average and Vocational High School graduates had an average of 3.77; 2) There is no significant difference in learning achievement between students who graduated from Senior High School and Vocational High School; 3) Supporting factors for learning achievement include: learning motivation, intelligence, concentration, goals to be achieved, diligent in studying and doing assignments, activeness in lectures, good time management, a conducive learning atmosphere, and student relations with lecturers. Inhibiting factors: laziness, distance to live far away, student perceptions of misdirection, afternoon class schedules, and monotonous learning methods. Keywords: learning achievement; grade point average; learning outcomes; senior high schools; vocational high schools.

Indonesian demographic premium with profile of productive age dominated by general high school graduates negatively affects national productivity levels. As an institution that produces skilled labour, vocational schools should be an institution that is expected to be a solution to increase labour productivity. As a government strategy to overcome these problems, the Presidential Instruction No. 09 of 2016 to revitalise the vocational school aimed at improving the competence of Vocational High School graduates. The study uses a mixed method with document analysis, interviews and also questionnaires, the results of this study explain that the Vocational High School in Indonesian does not meet the standard of the industry. From the results obtained, it can be concluded that this study is in line with the expected results.

The community service activity is conducted in the form ofa counselingabout the use of GeoGebra-aided modul in integral application learning.This activity aims to add knowledge about the use of GeoGebra-aided modul in mathematics learning especially integral application learning to mathematics teachers. The implementation method consists of four stages namely preparation, action, evaluation and report. This one day activity were attended by 26 mathematics teachers from elementary school, junior and senior high school and vocational school in Balikpapan at the 7th Floor G Building of Balikpapan University. The presented material consists of the use of GeoGebra-aided modul in integral application topic namely area of plane regions and volume of solids of revolution. This community service activity run well and smoothly and in accordance with the planning. Based on the carried activities, it is expected for mathematics teachers to create learning modules that appropriate with their students� conditions in the class and integrate various multimedia to support their mathematics learning process.Keywords: modul, geogebra, integral application

Batik has been known as a cultural heritage as an oral and non-artistic culture typical of Indonesia. The recognition of batik as one of the cultural heritage faces a challenge that is how the effort of preservation and regeneration of batik in the future. Batik preservation is not just applying batik in daily activities, but it needs conservation in the context of science and skills. In order to preserve Vocational High School (SMK) is the right tool in regenerating batik as insight, knowledge and skill. For that need special attention to continue to foster vocational school in order to continue to exist in the competition. This study contains descriptive description of vocational school of textile craft that holds batik subjects as a form of batik preservation in the world of formal education. Writing method in this study using literature study, observation, interview and documentation at one school in Bandung. With this exposure is expected to provide an overview of the implementation of batik subjects and can be used as a reference in the study of batik development in vocational school.

Abstract. Understanding Quranic materials in vocational students includes understanding how to read, the meanings, and the contents. Q.S. At-Taubah (10): 122 is one of the Quranic materials taught to students of class X SMK (vocational school). Most of the 10th-grade students at SMKN (State Vocational high School) 2 Batu in learning Surah Al-Taubah are only limited to reading comprehension with lacking in understanding the meaning and content. This condition occurs due to the lack of teachers in implementing various learning models that are varied and innovative. This research is a type of Classroom Action Research (CAR) with the aim to improve students' ability to understand Quranic material in surah At Taubah. The procedure for carrying out this research consists of two cycles. Each cycle consists of four stages, namely planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The results showed that by using the "Make A Match" model, student learning outcomes in the application of the law of reading nun/tanwin and mim sukun in reading the Qur'anic letters showed an increase. It is proven by the increase in the average results of daily tests and classical completeness values. The average value of the class increased from 66.8 to 76.5 in the first cycle and increased to 82 in the second cycle. The percentage of classical completeness before taking action by 54% increased to 75% in the first cycle and increased to 96% in the second cycle.Keywords: Make a Match; Undertanding; Learning.

INTRODUCTION: Brazilian vocational high school education in Computing faces problems such as course failure and dropout, plus dropout from the programs, factors that directly contribute to the deficit of such professionals. OBJECTIVE:  This paper reports an experience of a contextualized and spiral approach carried out with students of the technical program in Informatics. METHOD: The approach aims to facilitate learning and motivate students through the tools JES and PPlay, and the Python language. RESULTS: Learned lessons suggest the adequacy of Python as first language, and of contextualized activities, context reuse and challenges as factors contributing to motivation and learning. CONCLUSION: The use of contexts, languages and environments in sequential and spiral blocks fosters a more active posture of students regarding learning activities.

This study aims to describe the level of critical thinking skills and problem solving in Culinary Vocational School students in Malang City. This research is a descriptive study with a quantitative approach. The technique of collecting data used a questionnaire aimed at students of Malang Vocational High School 3, Malang Vocational High School 7, and Malang Kartika IV-I Vocational School. The results showed the level of critical thinking skills and problem solving had an average score of 3 with quite good criteria. Some indicators of this skill, namely: 1) using several types of reasoning types that are appropriate to the situation and conditions have an average score of 2.5 with fairly good criteria; 2) effectively process and analyze data to determine decisions through arguments, have an average score of 3 with fairly good criteria; 3) testing information that has been processed and interpreted with the best analysis through the initial conclusion has an average score of 3.5 with good criteria; and 4) identify, analyze, and solve a problem and have an average score of 2.8 with quite good criteria.   Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan tingkat kecakapan berpikir kritis dan pemecahan masalah pada siswa SMK Tata Boga se-Kota Malang. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner yang ditujukan kepada siswa SMKN 3 Malang, SMKN 7 Malang, dan SMK Kartika IV-I Malang.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tingkat kecakapan berpikir kritis dan pemecahan masalah memiliki rata-rata skor 3 dengan kriteria cukup baik. Beberapa indikator dari kecakapan ini, yaitu: 1) menggunakan beberapa jenis tipe penalaran dengan tepat yang sesuai dengan situasi dan kondisi memiliki rata-rata skor 2.5 dengan kriteria cukup baik; 2) mengolah dan menganalisis data dengan efektif untuk menentukan keputusan melalui argumen, memiliki rata-rata skor 3 dengan kriteria cukup baik; 3) menguji informasi yang sudah diolah dan diinterpretasi dengan analisis terbaik melalui simpulan awal memiliki rata-rata skor 3.5 dengan kriteria baik; dan 4) mengidentifikasi, menganalisis, dan memecahkan suatu masalah dan memiliki rata-rata skor 2.8 dengan kriteria cukup baik.
