The nature of humans in their lives is to carry out communication activities. An individual can be said to communicate with other people if both have an understanding of the meaning of the message conveyed in their interactions. The progress of information communication technology provides an opportunity for individuals to interact more easily through the internet. In 2017, the number of internet users in Indonesia was recorded at 143.26 million, or 54.68 percent of Indonesia's total population. This number increased compared to the previous year, namely in 2016 which was recorded at 132.7 million. Of the numbers recorded, 130 million of them are active on social media in term of New Media Communication, or noted as information technology-based communication, makes social media as primary chosen for individuals interacting socially in cyberspace. This study aims to analyze how the personal branding forming in social media instagram refer to eight laws of personal branding such as: specialization, leadership, personality, distinctiveness, visibility, unity, persistence and goodwill. The best personal branding must be meets on these eight laws. The type of research conduct as qualitative descriptive, which the method is case study. The data used are primary data from interviews with selected informants and secondary data: documents in the form of photos and texts of digital natives on their Instagram. The data were analyzed by data reduction, data display by arranging it according to the pattern and then verification that is drawing the conclusion to answer the research question. Refer to the results of the study, the conclusion is personal branding of digital natives on Social Media Instagram need to be manage to meet all eight laws of personal branding.Keywords: Communication, Digital Natives, New Media, Social Media

The essence of man in life is to conduct communication activities. An individual is said to communicate with others if both have an understanding of the meaning of the message conveyed in his interaction. Advances in information communication technology provide opportunities for individuals to more easily interact over the internet. Of the recorded internet users, 130 million are active on social media. New Media Communication, or communication based on information technology, makes social media a prima donna for individuals to interact socially in cyberspace. Text-based communication platforms such as WhatsApp and LINE make it easier for individuals or those in cyberspace referred to as digital natives to interact. These digital natives in their interactions do the continuous thing as a habit that eventually becomes a culture of communication.             In this research, the focus of research is the evolution of communication between users in the new media era in LINE users as a text application-based social media with a constructivist approach, qualitative research methodology with virtual ethnographic research methods and descriptive analysis levels. Data collection with online interviews, as well as chat history observations and the use of LINE sticker features. The purpose of the study is: (1) to find out the communication of digital natives on the LINE application platform, (2) to find out the evolution of interpersona communication formed from the results of native digital interactions on the LINE application platform using a virtual ethnographic approach.

ABSTRACT The objective of this research is to reveal the meaning of Covid-19 memes in social media using study of Roland Barthes semiology. In addition, this research also explains the social representation in Covid-19 memes. The method of the research is qualitative descriptive using technical analysis of Roland Barthes semiology. The technique of collecting data is based on two resources. The primary data are collections of memes about Covid 19 in some social media, such as Instagram, Facebook, and Web Blog. The secondary data are references supporting the topic of the research. In validity technique, the primary data are collected based on the topic of the discussion. After that, the data are processed descriptively by explaining, and comparing the information gained from many resources. Then, the data are reduced and presented. The result of the study shows that the creators tried to reveal social condition through Covid-19 memes. The social conditions were presented in some types of memes, namely critical memes, parodist memes, and motivational memes. The development of communication technology has given birth to new media and social media. One of the potentials of social media is to form the personal branding of political actors. Personal Branding through Twitter social media accounts is becoming the current trend. This study aims to analyze Sandiaga Uno's Twitter account during the presidential and vice-presidential election campaign process in 2019. This study uses a qualitative approach to analyze secondary data on Personal Branding from Sandiaga Uno's Twitter account. As well as additional data from a literature study that discusses Personal Branding. Nvivo 12 Plus is used to analyze data. This study found that Sandiaga Uno used his personal Twitter to do branding during the campaign process, this can be seen from the content of photos, videos, and tweets that portrayed themselves as someone close to the community.

This study aims to determine the marketing communication strategy in Kedai Digital 8 Solo in increasing sales of merchandise products. This study uses qualitative descriptive methods, namely research that seeks to describe or describe the object under study based on facts in the field. Data presented using primary data, secondary data through structured interviews, observations, and documentation relating to this study. The data analysis technique used in this study is qualitative data analysis. The results of this study indicate that the marketing communication strategy applied by Kedai Digital 8 Solo is advertising (advertising) and direct marketing (direct marketing). Advertising uses brochure media, banners / MMT and through social media. While direct marketing is done using media letters / proposals submitted to individuals and companies / agencies. Of the two strategies implemented, advertising through social media (online) is more routine because it is considered more effective and efficient. While direct marketing through media letters / proposals is carried out periodically at least once a year even rarely. Keywords: communication strategy, marketing, advertising

This study aims at evaluating the application of social media-based e-learning and online assignments during Covid-19 pandemic based on: (1) the availability of facilities and infrastructure in implementing social media-based e-learning and online assignments during the Covid-19 pandemic, (2) comprehension and management of e-learning and online assignments by lecturers and students, (3) social media-based e-learning and online assignments. This study is a qualitative descriptive study using the CIPP evaluation by evaluating each component, including context, input, process and product/outcome. The sources of study data involved lecturers and students of Informatics Engineering at Muhammadiyah University Sorong in Matrix Algebra course. The instruments of primary data collection was online assignments and Google Form questionnaires, while secondary data was obtained through observation, literature study, documentation and interviews. The results show that students obtained an overall average score (mean) of 76.4 from the maximum score of 100, and a percentage of assignment collection of 65.78%. This results were categorized as adequate, in meaning it is rather effective for theory comprehension, and was categorized as moderate in terms of boosting students’ motivation in doing social media-based online assignments, depending on the type of assignment. This signifies that the evaluation of CIPP in social media-based e-learning and online assignments in algebra has positive outcome in terms of infrastructure, management, and use.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apa itu dakwah Bil Qalam dan mendeskripsikan bagaimana pemanfaatan media sosial Instagram dalam dakwah Bil Qalam. Dakwah tidak harus dengan berdiri di atas mimbar, ada banyak metode yan dapat dilakukan dalam menyampaikan pesan dakwah. Dakwah Bil Qalam merupakan metode dakwah yang menggunakan tulisan dalam menyampaikan sebuah pesan dakwah. Di era digital saat ini, dakwah virtual melalui media sosial Instagram menjadi jalan agar estafet dakwah yang dilakukan Rasulullah SAW tidak terputus begitu saja. Metode dakwah Bil Qalam melalui Instagram dapat berupa caption pada unggahan gambar atau video dan tulisan pada instagram story. Dalam penelitian, peneliti menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Data penelitiaan kualitatif diinterperetasikan oleh peneliti sehingga hasil penelitian sangat dipengaruhi oleh pemikiran, pandangan, dan pengetahuan peneliti. Data yang dikumpulkan berupa data primer yaitu hasil wawancara dan data sekunder seperti buku, jurnal, dan artikel dakwah yang diperoleh dari internet.Kata kunci: Dakwah Bil Qalam, Media sosial, Instagram.AbstractThis study aims to find out what is Da'wah Bil Qalam and describe how to use Instagram social media in Da'wah Bil Qalam. Da'wah does not have to stand on the stand, there are many methods that can be used in conveying the message of da'wah. Da'wah Bil Qalam is a method of da'wah that uses writing in conveying a message of da'wah. In today's digital era, virtual preaching through social media Instagram is a way for the preaching relay conducted by Rasulullah SAW to not be interrupted. The method of preaching Bil Qalam through Instagram can be in the form of a caption on the upload of images or videos and writing on instagram stories. In this study, researchers used a qualitative descriptive approach. The qualitative research data is interpreted by the researcher so that the research results are strongly influenced by the thoughts, views, and knowledge of the researcher. Data collected in the form of primary data are interviews and secondary data such as books, journals and propaganda articles obtained from the internet.Keywords: Da'wah Bil Qalam, Social media, Instagram.

The purpose of this study was to find out the function of cold storage in stabilizing fish prices in Ambon City, analyzing optimal production levels of various types of dominant fish, and analyzing the level of efficiency of utilization of cold storage and auxiliary machinery. This study uses the survey method. Primary data collection through questionnaires is built empirically while secondary data is obtained from several agencies related to this study. The research sample was drawn by exhausting sampling, amounting to 6 cold storage units in Ambon City. The role of cold storage to stabilize fish prices was analyzed using a qualitative descriptive approach, while the quantitative techniques used included analysis of optimization of cold storage production with linear programming and analysis of the efficiency of utilization of cold storage. The results of the study show that cold storage has not played a role properly to stabilize fish prices in Ambon City. To achieve optimal use of production factors, the cold storage management needs to reduce the raw material by 24,915.9 kg / month; 7 HOK / month workforce; cold storage storage space capacity of 2.09 kg / month; and demand for flying fish 1,402.6 kg / month, while the use of production factors efficiently (fully utulized) is the capacity of the freezing machine, demand for tuna, skipjack, and cob. The level of technical efficiency of the utilization of cold storage facilities is reached, the total use of installed capacity must be proportional to the capacity used.

In 2017 the majority of internet users are 19-34 years old or 49.52% (APJI, 2017). Almost half of the internet users in Indonesia are digital natives who were born after 1980: Generation Y (1980-1995) and Generation Z (1996-2009). This research will be focused on Generation Z as the true generation of the internet. Generation Z was born when the internet is available, a contrast to Generation Y who is still experiencing the transition of the internet. The purpose of this research is to find an effective way of providing information about media literacy to Generation Z. Through descriptive qualitative, the study was conducted with in-depth interview and observation toward 12 university students in Jakarta. The results showed that there are four effective ways of providing information about media literacy which is i) videos distributed to social media such as Youtube and Instagram, ii) interesting memes in communicative style, iii) through selebgram or micro-celebrity in Instagram who is consider as a role model and have a positive image, and iv) roadside billboards. Another interesting finding is that male informants tend to like media literacy information through videos and memes, while female informants prefer campaigns conducted by positive image selebgram and billboard. AbstrakPada tahun 2017 pengguna internet di Indonesia mayoritas berusia 19-34 tahun yaitu sebanyak 49,52% (APJI, 2017). Dari data tersebut terlihat bahwa hampir sebagian pengguna internet di Indonesia adalah digital natives atau penutur asli teknologi digital yaitu orang-orang yang lahir setelah tahun 1980: Generasi Y (1980-1995) dan Generasi Z (1996-2009). Penelitian ini akan difokuskan kepada Generasi Z karena mereka dianggap sebagai sebenar-benarnya generasi internet. Generasi Z lahir saat teknologi tersebut sudah tersedia, berbeda dengan Generasi Y yang masih mengalami transisi teknologi hingga menuju internet. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mencari tahu cara yang efektif dalam memberikan informasi mengenai media literasi kepada generasi Z. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan observasi dan wawancara mendalam. Informan berjumlah 12 orang mahasiswa di Jakarta. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada empat cara yang efektif dalam memberikan informasi mengenai media literasi yaitu i) video yang disebarkan ke media sosial seperti Youtube dan Instagram, ii) meme menarik dengan bahasa yang mudah dimengerti, iii) melalui selebgram yang menjadi panutan dan berimage positif, dan iv) papan iklan di pinggir jalan. Temuan menarik lainnya adalah informan laki-laki cenderung menyukai informasi media literasi melalui video dan meme yang disebarkan ke media sosial, sementara perempuan lebih menyukai kampanye yang dilakukan oleh selebgram berimage positif dan papan iklan.

Purpose The diffusion of social media among public administrations has significantly grown in the last years. This phenomenon has created a field of research that seeks to understand the adoption and impact of social media in the public sector. The purpose of this paper is to identify the factors that make social media successful in Spanish local governments. Design/methodology/approach The paper is based on an adapted version of a neo-institutional model: Enacting Electronic Government Success (EEGS). The data have been collected through three main sources: primary data from a questionnaire designed and conducted by the authors, secondary data of statistical sources, and tertiary data collected through Klout Score. Findings The results from a survey and statistical analysis provide preliminary validation of the model and show a direct relationship between organizational, institutional, and environmental factors with the successful use of social media in local public administrations. The data analysis shows that ten variables jointly explain 54.6 percent (adjusted R2=0.546) of the variability observed in the dependent variable. Research limitations/implications First, the analysis model used represents a limited sample size to carry out a complex quantitative analysis. Second, the use of Klout Scores can offer some bias. Finally, certain variables complicate the comparative potential of the study. Originality/value This study provides original primary data and contributes to the growing field of study related to social technologies in public administrations. This research also confirms in an exploratory way the validity of the EEGS model.

The research focuses on introducing social media platforms as either a complementary or main channel in the company sales funnel. Internet technologies and Web 2.0 continue to provide innovations in digital marketing, with the latest iteration being lead generation services through social media. Data shows that almost half of the world population is active on social media, with the new Generation Alpha being projected to be entirely online dependent and proficient in the use of new technologies. The paper provides an overview of the digitalization of sales funnels, as well as the benefits that social media platforms can offer if implemented correctly. Secondary data provides the basis for transforming sales funnels with social media, where previous research provides limited data on the effectiveness of these types of efforts. Primary data demonstrates that introducing social media platforms can provide improvements of up to 3 to 4 times in analyzed case studies, as well as the shorter time when deciding about purchase in use case scenarios. Social media advertising can also be utilized to shorten the sales funnel process and serve as a unified point of entrance and exit in the first few stages.
