This article was made based on an observation on the application of a Local Culture-Based Project in Balinese Language and Religious Literature Study Program of Denpasar State Hindu Dharma Institute. The basic reason for the application of this Project-Based Learning method is that, students were less motivated in following the EFL course. Students found that English would give a very minimum support for Balinese language and culture. English as a foreign language seems to be a threat for Balinese language sustainability. Therefore, the writer would show the students their actual connection in which English as a world dominant language could empower the existence of local culture including the language itself. (Regmi, 2013) stated that people should consider that the present existed local language that is used to pass the local context and culture on from generation to generation will die. Therefore, its integration to English as a world dominant language is one of the effective ways to preserve the local culture. Writer then designed project task which deal with local Balinese Culture. Students were asked to make a „Multilingual Pictured Folklore Book‟ during EFL course. Methodological triangulation (e.g. survey, interview and observation) were applied to confirm the students‟ respond toward the application of the Project. The result shows that PBL approach implemented in the present study was proven effective in improving the students‟ interest in learning English. Besides, the students gave a positive response toward the application of the Project.

This writing aims to make readers, especially library managers, know and gain insight into the "Malaysian" binding method. This writing method is through descriptive research with a qualitative approach. Methods of data collection are carried out through the field research, interviews, and literature study. The results show that the National Library of Indonesia uses this method after studying it from Malaysia in May 1990. From observations it is also known that this method has several advantages, namely the binding result is stronger, the collection is more preserved, the binding can be assembled and has an aesthetic side. Meanwhile, the disadvantages of this binding method are that the process tends to be longer, more expensive, cannot be put on too many shelves because the collection will shift backwards, the pages tend to come off easily if the stitches are not strong enough, and can only be used in binding periodical collections.

This article aims to describe the historical development of comparative literature and its current issues. Comparative literature is a mandatory course in the Indonesian language and literature study program in most Indonesian universities. There are at least six books used as common references in teaching comparative literature in Indonesia. However, these books have not covered recent development in comparative literature, especially the emergence of Chinese school and some new directions within comparative literature. This literature review article collects references from selective authoritative sources on the internet to describe the historical development of comparative literature and its current issues. This article shows that the expansions in comparative literature are intricate with deconstruction and reconstruction of world literature, dialogue and the meeting between West and East, and the presence of the digital age. From the dialogue on world literature and West meeting East vice versa, the Chinese school has its foundation, whilst the presence of the digital age makes comparative literature have new things to explore and work on the usage of the different medium in an umbrella term, intermediality.
