The aims of this study are: 1) to find out how the teacher training in PAUD Surya Gemilang, Malang, is carried out in implementing the book Let’s Respect Each Other: A Story-Telling Book of Character Building by using various methods and fun learning techniques, and 2) how the practice of using the book of Let’s Respect Each Other: A Story-Telling Book of Character Building. This research was conducted using a qualitative method in which the researcher described the process of the two aims aforementioned. The subjects of this study were all teachers, especially one homeroom teacher at PAUD Surya Gemilang. The results of this study found that in the first phase, namely teacher training, there were three stages. They were the provision of English for Young Learners material, the provision of story-telling material, and the provision of character education material. Then, in the second phase, namely the implementation of Let’s Respect Each Other: A Story-Telling Book of Character Building, it was found that teachers taught stories and character education by reading books in English and Bahasa alternately while showing the pictures that matched the story to students and retelling the stories by using puppets.

Islamic class management is important in shaping the character of students in the 4.0 era. But in reality, in this era of 4.0, it is often found that the character of students, especially those in Elementary Schools (SD), has started to diverge. Based on these facts, this research was conducted to describe the form of Islamic class management in the 2013 Curriculum in shaping the character of the VI-grade elementary school students in the era 4.0. The research method used is a descriptive qualitative method. In the research carried out it was found that 1) The character building of students in era 4.0 was carried out in three stages, namely planning, actuating and controlling, and 2) Integrating 18 values of character building and 5 values of strengthening character education. (PPK) into learning themes and sub-themes. Based on the results of the research, it was found that the character building of students in the 4.0 era could be done by implementing Islamic class management in learning activities.

The background of this research is: researcher’s anxiety towards the character of the nation that is experiencing moral decadence, such as increasing free association, drug abuse, and so forth. In this case the school especially in the learning of Akidah Akhlak have a big role in the awareness of Islamic religious values to learners. This research uses qualitative method. Research location in MIN Sekuduk and MIN Pemangkat Kabuaten Sambas. Data collection is done by observation, interview, and documentation. Data analysis was done by cross-case analysis. The result of the research shows that: (1) learning planning of Aqidah Akhlak as an effort of character building is by designing lesson planning by involving Media, (2) application of teacher learning of Aqidah Akhlak in effort of character building of student which done have referring to order or rule which have Planned and determined in every activity or learning process in Basic education institution/ MI, (3) evaluation of teacher learning of Aqidah Akhlak usually in the form of examination of task from teacher, daily test, UTS value and UAS saswa test. Submission of learning Aqidah morals in the formation of student characters in applied by the subject teachers from each location of the study led to very satisfactory results.Keywords: Character Education, Learning Aqidah Morals in MI

ABSTRACT Environmental care character for students is important to be formed, because the environment will affect the existence and benefit of humans. The character Building is through character education at school. Islamic junior high school Diniyyah Al-Azhar Muara Bungo is an educational institution that seeks to familiarize students with caring for the environment. The purpose of this research is to explain students environmental care character building at Islamic Junior High School Diniyyah Al-Azhar Muara Bungo. This study uses a qualitative method. The research informants were selected by purposive sampling and numbered 14 people. Technique of checking the validity of data by data triangulation. Data analysis techniques with interactive models Miles and Huberman. Character building has become strategic way for government to prepare Indonesian golden generation on 2045. President Regulation Number 87 Year 2017 about Reinforcement of Character Education (PPK) suggests 18 students’ character value through the harmony of psyche building, sense building, thought building, and physical building. Those could be implemented through the development of local wisdom and the improvement of special character and identity of a region. Gorontalo is one of nineteen regions in Indonesia which regulates local laws has various local laws, one of them is Mopolihu Lo Limu (Lemon Bathing) for female children under 1 to 3 years old. Mopolihu Lo Limu tradition has numbers of values which are relevant to the Reinforcement of Character Education (PPK) such as: (1) Religiosity, (2) Honesty, (3) Tolerance, (4) Discipline, (5) Hard work, (6) Independent, (7) Love the Mother Land, (8) Friendly, (9) Love Peace, (10) Social Awareness, (11) Environment Awareness and (12) Responsible. This research used descriptive qualitative method which was relevant to the object. It took place at Gorontalo as the research setting. The object of the research was the Mopolihu Lo Limu  (Lemon Bathing) for female children.

<p><strong>Abstract: </strong>This research aims to analyze the values and character building in “The Theory of Everything,” to identify the morality of the main character of “The Theory of Everything” 3) the method of value formation, and 4) the implications of using this film in character building and morality in children. This research is done by using a descriptive qualitative method with a literature-based approach. This research uses content analysis, which analyzes the content of dialogue, scene, and character according to the value of character education and morality of the main character. Based on the result of research, it can be concluded that this film contains 1) the values and character building, such as religious, honesty, tolerance, hard work, creativity, independently, curiosity, nationalism, loving the country, respect for achievement, friendly or communicative, peaceful love, fond of reading, caring society dan responsibility. 2) the moral value of the main character, which is dominant, is as honest, independent, and hard work. 3) the method of value formation through dialogue and very inspirational scenes through the main characters; and 4) the implications of using this film in character building and morality in children is to build self-confidence and self-actualization.</p><p><strong>Keywords: </strong>character education; film analysis; moral values</p>

This study aimed to perceive the implementation of character education for young learners in RA Nurul Ikhlas and discover the supporting factors and obstacles in implementing the program. Conducted using a qualitative method, the study resulted in the findings of definitions, concepts, characteristics, and phenomena on the implementation of character education for young learners in RA Nurul Ikhlas. The data was collected by observation, interview, and document analysis. The data analysis was conducted by applying Miles and Hubermen’ theory, which consisted of data reduction activity, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings showed that: 1) Character education implementation in RA Nurul Ikhlas was conducted by scheduled activities, habits and merits, and learning by playing approach. Character education curriculum based on 9 character-pillars with center and circle learning model as well as various methods and evaluation: 2) the supporting factors for implementing character education are lesson plans integrated with character values, teachers’ competences, and school support. Meanwhile, the obstacles that hindered the implementation are as follows: a. the harmony between schools and homes in applying characters values are not favorable, b.  less-conducive environment, c. uncontrolled or less-educated use of gadget, television, and internet

E-module is one of educational technology developments that can improve the quality of the teaching process. This study aims to develop an e-module based application Flip Book Maker in the Pancasila Education coursework. Research method using Borg and Gall development model. This research is divided into three stages: (a) needs assessment; (b) development of Flip Book Maker based e-module on Character Education chapter; and (3) trial and effectiveness test of Flip Book Maker based e-module on Character Education chapter. The results showed that the Flip Book Maker based e-module on Character Education chapter in Pancasila Education coursework is effective for strengthening student character and also effective in improving learning outcomes.

This study aims to determine the implementation of Islamic education management at SMK Muhammadiyah Kajen. In this case, the researcher used a qualitative method with a phenomenology approach, collecting data through observation, interviews, and documents. In addition, to maintain data accuracy, researchers used data triangulation methods. While the research informants were the principal, teachers, and parents of students. The results of this study indicate that SMK Muhammadiyah Kajen implements: 1) Semangat Subuh, this culture is done to train students to obey congregational prayers and wake up in the morning; 2) Memorizing juz Amma, to get students used to always reading al-Qur'an every day; 3) Pesantren Ramadhan, namely Islamic activities about fikih, akidah akhlak, and sirah nabawiyah. In addition to strengthening student character, Islamic boarding schools are friendly and can also instill a culture of student literacy.Keywords: Character, Islamic Education, Islamic Literacy

The purpose of this study was to determine which form of parenting is the most dominant applied by parents in instilling religious characters in early childhood. Parenting is a process in the family, the interaction between parents and children. Parenting patterns have been applied since the child was born and adjusted to the age and stage of development. Learning in early childhood is the initial foundation of character building in children. Religious character education should be carried out comprehensively, covering all aspects of education, from the preparation of children from birth to efforts to strengthen children's physical and spiritual abilities, conveyed with advice, with examples well as well as with the process of getting used to good things so that it has implications for the personality of the child in adulthood. This study used an analysis descriptive qualitative method. To collect data, the researcher used three methods, namely: interview method, documentation, and observation method. The results showed that the parenting style of parents and its implications for the formation of a religious character in early childhood at TK Al-Hikmah Karangbesuki Sukun Malang is democratic and permissive parenting which is the most dominant applied.

Nowadays, Character education becomes the attention of many parties. The key to character education is the availability of a positive character environment. Because character building is not enough just to provide knowledge about which is good attitude and what is bad as taught in school. This misunderstanding of school is the cause of character education and failure. Intended for character building requires a character environment that provides good examples to its members. The problem is that there are many character environments that do not support the building of good characters. Bad character environments can be seen in slum area. Slums, identical to poverty, low levels of education, many criminal acts, promiscuity and other negative behaviors. By using a new institutional approach . Data collection is done by qualitative method, through observation, interview and literature study. The success of the Tanah Ombak Community manipulates the institutional environment can not be separated from two things. First, there are actor who become key figures. Second, there in collectively shared values that drives ideas. How the environment is manipulated can be seen from the three aspects, regulative, normative and cognitive. Regulatively, many emergence of positive rules for character development. Normatively, bad old habits are replaced by positive new habits for character building. Finally, cognitively new knowledge emerges for the new characters building.
