This research is aiming to understand behind student motivation upon joining organization such as Jakampus UI that has a stereotype for its tendency towards violence. Within the scope of identity concept, people tends to join a group to be able to shows its identity as a person. This identity, then, become their basis for understanding their own perspective of their dignity and self-esteem. From that, this research also would like to find whether there is a connection between individual concept of self-esteem and the motivation upon joining Jakampus. This research would like to find how the student from University of Indonesia gave meaning and interpret about the supporter of Persija football club which has been attached with some kind of stereotype and the meaning of their membership inside that kind of community. The contagion theory is there to explain about the interpersonal communication process of the member of Jakampus as the effect of its self-esteem fulfilled or not. This research also use qualitative method, using the fenomenology approach. There are several findings that this research has found, which are (1) despite the rampant stereotyping from society towards supporter of Persija such as Jakampus, there is little to no effect of that stereotyping towards their motivation (2) the motivation for student to join Jakampus is to fulfill their self-esteem needs; and (3) the member of Jakampus are affected by the crowds when they are interacting within the organization. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami motivasi mahasiswa dalam bergabung dengan organisasi seperti Jakampus UI yang mana distereotipkan karena tendensinya terhadap tindakan kekerasan. Dalam konsep identitas, manusia bergabung dalam kelompok tertentu untuk bisa menunjukan identitas mereka. Identitas ini lah yang kemudian dijadikan sebagai dasar oleh dirinya sendiri dalam melihat harga diri mereka. Berangkat dari situ, penelitian ini berusaha untuk menemukan apakan ada keterkaitan antara konsep self-esteem seseorang dan motivasinya dalam bergabung dengan Jakampus. Artinya, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk bagaimana proses pemaknaan mahasiswa UI terkait dengan pendukung klub bola Persija yang memiliki stereotip tertentu dan makna dari keikutsertaan mereka dalam komunitas pendukung klub tersebut di kampus. Contagion Theory dipergunakan untuk menjelaskan mengenai komunikasi antar pribadi yang terjadi di antara anggota dari Jakampus sebagai dampak dari pemenuhan self-esteem itu terpenuhi atau tidak. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif, dengan pendekatan secara fenomenologi. Ada beberapa temuan dari penelitian ini, yaitu (1) meskipun stereotip dari masyarakat terhadap pendukung Persija seperti Jakampus, sedikit bahkan tidak ada efek dari stereotyping tersebut terhadap motivasi mereka; (2) motivasi mahasiswa untuk ikut bergabung dengan Jakampus adalah untuk memenuhi kebutuhan self-esteem  mereka; dan (3) anggota Jakampus terdampak dari tindakan kerumunan dalam komunikasi antar pribadi mereka ketika sedang berada di dalam organisasi tersebut.

The interpersonal communication of beggars involves the beggars’ interaction with their donors, and interaction among beggars. This communication incorporates symbols that have been given meaning, both verbal and non-verbal. This study aims to determine the motives that encourage someone to become a beggar in Banda Aceh, the effectiveness of the city government’s policy in handling the begging activities and to find out the process of interpersonal communication of the beggars. This study applies the descriptive qualitative method with phenomenology approach, to describe the meaning of some people’s lives. The research subjects are the beggars who are willing and able to provide the required information in-depth. The result shows that the interpersonal communication process among the beggars and the beggars with the donors are conducted through symbolic interaction by using language and symbols, and role-play performance creating condition and atmosphere which gave certain meanings. The communities performing such interactions had the ability to utilise symbols to create an impression that attracted the attention of donors. The actions raised people’s sympathy who will give charities to them in any expected feedback. The understanding of this issue is important for the realization of the implementation of the regulation but still maintaining the aspirations of the citizens who uphold Islamic values, the concept of giving to the people in need.


This study aims to describe and analyze the verbal communication behavior of the freelance driver guide in Kuta, Bali. A good tour guide will help tourists in having a memorable vacation. A tour guide provides assistance, information, and organizes tours. A tour guide is required to have good verbal communication skill because a tour guide is considered as the central agent in the tourism industry. Therefore, a tour guide has to pass the certification test to get a license as a professional tour guide. The certification process is not easy to pass, so nowadays there are many freelance driver guides are found in Bali, especially in Kuta. The theory of communication is used in this study. This study is conducted by using descriptive qualitative method in which the discussion was presented descriptively. The result showed that the context of communication which occurred in the communication process between freelance driver guide and the tourist is interpersonal communication. Non-formal standard English is used by the freelance tour guide to give explanations and information. Meanwhile, the use of registers is more formal in accordance with the rules of tourist guiding. As a multicultural country, Indonesia has the potential to experience horizontal conflict. The conflict is usually triggered by SARA issues. Bhinneka Tunggal Ika as the motto of the state becomes forgotten. Society is divided and fragmented, fellow nation children blasphemous and hostile. If this continues, it is not impossible that the state will experience the disintegration. But, there are many ways that can be done to avoid it. One of them is digging back the local wisdom of the nation. Recitation Quran, as one part of the Indonesian local wisdom can be a part in glueing the love of the homeland, the love of diversity and the love of harmony. Knitting diversity through recitation Quran is one way to prevent the disintegration of the nation. Therefore, recitation Quran should be communicated well and correctly should be communicated well and correctly so that acceptable to the community and the national values to be conveyed through recitation Quran can be implemented. Such a thing necessarily requires the proper way of communicating so that the communication process and communication goals can be achieved. The process of communication and how to communicate will shape its own communication pattern. The communication pattern that is able to convey the purpose of recitation Quran is interesting to be studied as seen in this research. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui proses komunikasi interpersonal orang tua kepada anak autis di Kota Bandung. Untuk menjawab dari tujuan penelitian tersebut, peneliti menetapkan sub fokus pada Komunikasi verbal, komunikasi nonverbal, dan faktor penghambat. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan studi deskriptif dimana informan yang terlibat dalam penelitian ini berjumlah lima orang yang terdiri dari empat informan kunci sebagai orang tua dan satu informan pendukung psikolog anak sebagai informan pendukung. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa proses komunikasi interpersonal yang dilakukan antara orang tua dengan anak autis tidak seperti melakukan komunikasi dengan anak normal dan sulit untuk melakukan komunikasi agar dapat dipahami oleh anak autis. Komunikasi verbal yang dilakukan dengan autis harus jelas, tegas, singkat dan juga dengan menggunakan metode gambar, serta adanya kata-kata perintah yang diberikan demi kemandirian anak autis. Komunikasi nonverbal dilakukan dengan gerakan-gerakan ketika orang tua memberikan larangan kepada anak dengan menggunakan gerakan jari telunjuk yang mengacung kemudian digoyangkan, mereka akan segera berhenti melakukan hal tersebut dan memahami bahwa hal tersebut dilarang. Faktor penghambat dalam berkomunikasi dengan anak autis yaitu sulitnya melakukan kontak mata, kurangnya respon yang diberikan, kesulitan berbicara yang dialami anak autis, serta gangguan pada bidang sensori. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This study aims to determine the parent's interpersonal communication process to autistic children in the city of Bandung. To answer the purpose of the study, the researcher established a sub focus on verbal communication, nonverbal communication, and inhibiting factors. This study uses qualitative methods with descriptive studies where the informants involved in this study amounted to five people consisting of four key informants as parents and one informant supporting child psychologists as supporting informants. The results of this study indicate that the process of interpersonal communication carried out between parents and children with autism is not like communicating with normal children and is difficult to communicate so that it can be understood by children with autism. Verbal communication done with autism must be clear, firm, concise and also by using the image method, as well as the words of the commands given for the independence of autistic children. Nonverbal communication is carried out with movements when parents give a prohibition to children by using the movement of the index finger that is raised and then shaken, they will immediately stop doing that and understand that it is prohibited. Inhibiting factors in communicating with children with autism are difficulty in making eye contact, lack of response given, speech difficulties experienced by autistic children, and disturbances in the sensory field.

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui proses komunikasi kelompok dalam metode pembelajaran sentra di TK Zaid bin Tsabit. Penelitian ini mendiskusikan tentang proses komunikasi kelompok. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Metode Kualitatif dengan pendekatan Deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang dilakukan peneliti ada dengan studi pustaka, penelusuran data secara online, wawancara, observasi serta dokumentasi dengan 3 orang informan kunci yaitu guru di TK Zaid bin Tsabit serta 3 informan pendukung yaitu Kepala TK Zaid bin Tsabit dan 2 orang tua murid. Uji keabsahan data dengan peningkatan ketekunan, triangulasi dan diskusi dengan teman sejawat, teknik analisis data menggunakan pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data, penarikan kesimpulan dan evaluasi.Hasil penelitian ini bahwa Proses komunikasi yang terjadi merupakan komunikasi langsung yang terjadi dua arah dan dilakukan terus menerus untuk membentuk kemandirian anak. Proses komunikasi yang terjadi dalam kelompok metode pembelajaran sentra membentuk kemandirian anak. Proses komunikasi yang dilakukan oleh guru kepada anak dilakukan dengan memberikan arahan-arahan kepada anak serta contoh dari arahan yang telah disampaikan oleh guru.Kesimpulan pada penelitian ini adalah metode pembelajaran sentra membentuk kemandirian anak lewat komunikasi yang dilakukan guru secara terus menerus, karna melalui pembelajaran sentra anak diminta untuk melakukan segala sesuatunya sendiri dalam pengawasan guru. Saran yang diberikan adalah guru harus lebih kreatif dalam memberikan materi pada metode pembelajaran sentra serta bersikap lebih tegas dalam mendidik anak dan melakukan komunikasi yang berkelanjutan dengan orang tua murid. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This study was conducted to determine the process of group communication in the center learning method at TK Zaid bin Tsabit. This study discusses the process of group communication. The research method used in this study is a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The data collection techniques carried out by the researcher were with literature studies, online data searches, interviews, observation and documentation with 3 key informants namely the teacher at TK Zaid bin Tsabit and 3 supporting informants namely TK Head Zaid bin Tsabit and 2 parents. Test the validity of data by increasing perseverance, triangulation and discussion with colleagues, data analysis techniques using data collection, data reduction, data presentation, drawing conclusions and evaluations.The results of this study that the communication process that occurs is direct communication that occurs in two directions and carried out continuously to form the independence of children. The communication process that occurs in a group of central learning methods shapes children's independence. The process of communication carried out by the teacher to the child is done by giving directions to the child as well as examples of directions that have been delivered by the teacher.The conclusion of this study is that the central learning method shapes children's independence through continuous communication by the teacher, because through central learning children are asked to do everything themselves in the supervision of the teacher. The advice given is that the teacher must be more creative in giving material to the central learning method and be more assertive in educating children and making ongoing communication with parents.

One of interpersonal soft skill is a skill of interpersonal communication; that is the focus of this research. The purpose of this paper are defined in two parts. First, to explore the interpersonal communication skills of the educational staff. Second, to recognize the power of this interpersonal communication. The research of this paper has been studied by means of qualitative method. The approach of this study is a sequences of in-depth interviews with 4 informants of each faculty with A credit for accreditation examination result. This research result finds that there are 3 interpersonal communication skills of educational staff area. Secondly, there are power of the interpersonal communication skill which have made improvement to service providing in the work unit. The results of this research also explain whether maintaining interpersonal relationship enhances  the service providing.

The self-concept of PLHIV is a decisive factor in interpersonal communication, because everyone behaves as much as possible according to his concept. The results of interviews with 10 PLWHA showed that the respondents still felt ashamed and felt that they were not useful for this life and felt excluded by their family and environment. The purpose of the study is to describe the concept of self (PLWHA). The design used in this study is quantitative with a descriptive approach. The sampling method uses accidental sampling as many as 188 respondents. The data collection tool uses a questionnaire. The results showed 113 respondents (60.1%) had a positive self-concept. 98 respondents (52.1%) had a positive body image, 116 respondents (61.7%) had an ideal positive self, 96 respondents (51.1%) had negative self-esteem, 167 respondents (83.5%) had an appearance negative role and 98 respondents (52.1%) had a positive self-identity. Conclusion in this study more than half the number of respondents have a positive self-concept, the respondent has accepted what happened to him and is ready to face life in the future and considers that life is a process of discovery. Keywords: PLWHA, self concept.

The purpose of this study is to determine the Communication Patterns of Teachers and Parents of Students in Increasing Student Motivation at SD Negeri 5 Banyu Biru, Semarang Regency, Central Java. The method used is descriptive quantitative method. Based on the description of the communication patterns between teachers and parents at SD Negeri 5 Banyu Biru, it can be concluded that the communication patterns used by teachers and parents at SD Negeri 5 Banyu Biru are: a) interpersonal communication because this communication is carried out by two people or more and the message delivered can also be replied directly; b) group communication because communication that occurs in a group can make existing information easily known by other student guardians. There are some Factors supporting and hindering teacher to communicate with parents at SD Negeri 5 Banyu Biru, those are: (1) Guardians who are proactive with their constructive ideas, criticisms and suggestions are one of the supporting factors for communication at SD Negeri 5 Banyu Biru, (2) limited activity in School so that it has a positive effect on smooth communication, especially between teachers and guardians of students, (3) The use of media and technology is not optimal because there are no special teachers to handle or operate school websites. (4) Limited facilities and infrastructure owned by the school.

Abstract  Couples of different religions are prone to conflicts related to issues, especially regarding beliefs. In interfaith marriages, the inner bond that exists between a man and a woman but of different religions gives rise to state and religious administrative obstacles as well as other non-administrative obstacles. The purpose of this study was to determine the communication process in building relationships between interfaith couples. This study uses interpersonal communication theory and social penetration theory. This research using qualitative descriptive methods and interviews to collect data. The data obtained is the result of in-depth interviews with 2 sources who have become husband and wife of different religions. The research process from data reduction, data presentation, then analyzed to draw conclusions. The results of this study explain that through the process intimate relations. Interpersonal communication processes that are intertwined become a means to build better and harmonious relationships. The process is influenced by the memory of each partner. In building relationships through interpersonal communication there are factors that influence relationships, such as two-way communication, openness, comfort, trust, and supportiveness is a way of maintaining relationships  Keywords: Communication Process; Different religion; Interpersonal Communication; Interfaith Couples  Abstrak Penelitian ini membahas tentang proses komunikasi dalam membangun relasi pasangan beda agama. Pasangan beda agama rentan adanya konflik yang berhubungan dengan permasalahan khususnya menyangkut keyakinan. Dalam perkawinan beda agama, ikatan batin yang terjalin antara seorang pria dan wanita tetapi berbeda agama sehingga memunculkan kendala administratif negara dan agama serta kendala non administratif lainnya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui proses komunikasi dalam membangun relasi pasangan beda agama. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori komunikasi interpersonal, proses komunikasi dari pengenalan sampai dengan yang lebih intim pemetaan dari pengertian teori penetrasi sosial. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dan wawancara  untuk mengumpulkan data. Data yang diperoleh merupakan hasil wawancara mendalam dengan 2 narasumber yang telah menjadi suami istri yang berbeda agama. Proses penelitian dari reduksi data, penyajian data, kemudian dianalisis untuk pengambilan kesimpulan. Hasil Penelitian ini menjelaskan bahwa melalui proses dari intim menuju ke lebih intim. Proses komunikasi interpersonal yang terjalin menjadi sarana untuk membangun relasi yang lebih baik dan harmonis. Proses komunikasi membangun relasi tidak semata-mata langsung dekat ada proses didalamnya. Proses tersebut dipengaruhi oleh memori dari masing-masing pasangan. Penelitian sebelumnya menjelaskan mengenai kecerdasan dalam berkomunikasi dalam perbedaan agama antar pegawai dalam suatu instansi untuk mengetahui strategi dalam berkomunikasi. Dalam membangun relasi melalui komunikasi interpersonal ada faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi relasi seperti komunikasi dua arah, keterbukaan, kenyamanan, sikap percaya, suportif dan mendukung adalah cara dalam pemeliharaan hubunganKata Kunci: Beda Agama; Komunikasi Interpersonal; Pasangan Suami Istri; Proses Komunikasi
