This study aimed at investigating the relationship between hours of homework, stress, and mood disturbance in senior high school students, 141 boys and 228 girls, recruited from high schools across Victoria, Australia. Participants' ages ranged from 16 to 18 years ( M = 16.6, SD = .6). A 1-wk. homework diary, a Self-reported Stress scale, and the Profile of Mood States were administered to students. Analysis showed that the number of hours spent completing homework ranged from 10 to 65 hours per week ( M = 37.0, SD = 12.2). Independent samples t-test analyses showed significant sex differences, with female students scoring higher on hours of homework, stress, and mood disturbance compared to male students. Pearson product-moment correlations were significant and positive for hours of homework with stress and for hours of homework with mood disturbance.

The aim of this study is to evaluate the views of Physical Education and Sports Candidate Teacher studying in sports education units of universities about Distance Education and to determine the relationship between them. A total of 148 teacher candidates, 79 (53.40%) female and 69 (46.60%) male, studying in different departments of the Physical Education and Sports School of Kafkas University participated in the study. IBM SPSS Statistics v22 package program was used in the statistical analysis of the data. The skewness and kurtosis test were used to test the data for normality and it was determined that the data did not have a normal distribution. In order to evaluate whether the data is homogeneous; “Anova-Homogenety of variance” test was applied and it was determined that the data were not homogeneous. It was observed that the total score average of the "attitudes towards distance education" of the Physical Education and Sports School students was 103.50±13.02. When examined in terms of gender, it was determined that the mean score of male students was 105.02±13.41 and that of female students was 102.16±.12.60. When examined in terms of place of residence, 86 (58.10) students living with their families are 104.44±12.15, students living in student housing/own house 31 (20.90) are 100.70±15.95, 15 (10.10) in dormitories. 105.06±5.16 and lastly 102.37±16.33 points in 16 of the relatives (10.8) households were determined. Background: Gender makes a difference in health and physical activity (PA). This research aimed to identify the gender difference in the relationship of PA and subjective happiness among Chinese university students. Methods: A cross-sectional survey was conducted in Shanghai Jiao Tong University from July 7 to 17 in 2021, using an anonymous online self-report questionnaire. The questionnaire included the Chinese version of the International Physical Activity Questionnaire-Short Form (IPAQ-SF), the Subjective Happiness Scale (SHS), the Depression Anxiety Stress Scale-21(DASS-21). The demographic and health-related factors were also reported. Linear regression was carried out to identify the relationship of PA and subjective happiness.Findings: In total, 1,512 students (1,108 males and 404 females) from three comprehensive schools completed the survey. The SHS score was 17.20 ± 3.44, and it was 17.00 ± 3.23 in males, and 17.75 ± 3.93 in females, respectively (p < 0.001). There was no gender difference in vigorous, moderate PA, or walk min/week, while female students had longer sedentary behavior hours/day than males. Male students scored higher in each subscale of DASS-21. After controlling for confounders, vigorous PA min/week (β = 0.002, p = 0.002) and sedentary behavior hours/day (β = 0.168, p = 0.005) were significantly positively associated with happiness in male students. In contrast, walk min/week (2= 0.002, p = 0.005) was significantly positively associated with happiness in female students.Interpretation: This research demonstrated a significant gender difference in the association between PA and happiness. Policymakers and college management should pay more attention to PA programs to promote students’ happiness and mental health status.

PERBEDAAN GENDER DALAM HUBUNGAN ANTARA KECEMASAN, EFIKASI DIRI DAN HASIL BELAJAR SISWA PADA MATA PELAJARAN KIMIAAbstractLearning outcomes of male and female students have different results. Psychological factors in chemistry subjects including anxiety and self-efficacy as factors related to each other. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of anxiety and self-efficacy of the chemistry learning outcomes of class X science students related to gender in two public high schools in South Tangerang city for the academic year of 2017/2018. This is a correlational study using a quantitative approach. The population in this study involved 300 students selected through a purposive sampling method which resulted in 161 students relevant to this study including 87 females and 74 males students. The instruments used in the study were anxiety questionnaires and self-efficacy questionnaires with 30 items on each questionnaire, and also for collecting learning outcomes data middle test scores. The results showed the value of sig. 0,00 <α (0,025) which of H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. The coefficient of determination (R2) shows the percentage contribution of influence on male 26.11% and female 37.08% which can be concluded that there is a relationship between anxiety and self-efficacy towards learning outcomes of chemistry male students have a smaller contribution than female students. Replication of the study in different science disciplines and comparing science and non-science majors are also recommended.
