Amino acids are the basic structural units of protein molecules in the body. Currently, about 300 amino acids are known, of which 26 are studied best. Amino acids or their derivatives (for example, immune bodies) are part of enzymes, hormones, pigments, and other specific substances that play a crucial role in digestive and metabolic processes. In the process of metabolism, many amino acids are synthesized in the body from other amino acids or compounds, and therefore they are called interchangeable. Amino acids that are not synthesized in the body or are formed in insufficient quantities are called indispensable. According to the content and ratio of essential amino acids, feed proteins are subdivided into full and inferior. Deficiency, absence, or imbalance of essential amino acids in animal diets is accompanied by a deterioration in protein use, metabolic disorders, and decreased productivity. The following amino acids are indispensable; arginine, viburnum, histidine, isoleucine, leucine, lysine, methionine, threonine, tryptophan, phenylalanine. Among the essential amino acids, especially important ones, are those called critical. These are lysine, methionine + cystia, threonine, and tryptophan. A deficiency, absence, or imbalance of essential amino acids in animal diets is accompanied by a deterioration in protein use, metabolic disorders, and decreased productivity. Research and production experiment was conducted within Olenka Poultry Factory LLC and the problematic research laboratory of feed additives of the Department of Animal Feeding and Feed Technology named after P. D. Pshenichny at the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences. The effective level of arginine in compound feed for broilers of the Cobb-500 cross was experimentally determined. The use of compound feed with arginine levels in the first rearing period (1 to 10 days) - 1.28%, in the second (11 to 22 days) - 1.15% and in the third (23 to 42 days) - 1.11% gives the opportunity to get broiler chickens at the age of 42 days, weighing 2.654 kg, at a feed expenditure of 1.78 kg per 1 kg of gain.

Aim. Study of the effect of new domestic lactulose-containing feed additives on the biological properties and amino acid composition of the protein in broiler chicken meat. Material and Methods. During the research, classical and modern methods were used: zootechnical, biochemical, etc. The methodological basis was the scientific works of domestic and foreign scientists who studied the features of the effect of feed additives on the body of poultry and its productive qualities. The mass fraction of protein was determined by the Kjeldahl method according to GOST 25011-2015, the mass fraction of fat – by the Extractive-weight method according to GOST 23042-2015, the mass fraction of moisture – by the thermogravimetric method using the ELVIZ moisture analyzer, the mass fraction of total ash – GOST 31727-2012 (ISO 936:1998), amino acid composition of pectoral muscles – by capillary electrophoresis (Kapel 105M). Results. As a result of the experiment, it was found that the use of additives No. 1 and No. 2 helps to stabilize the indices of digestibility of nutrients and, as a result, to improve the metabolic process in the body of the bird. It was found that the digestibility coefficient of dry matter in the experimental groups was by 0.91%, crude protein – by 1.68%, crude fat – by 0.79%, nitrogen-free extractable substances – by 1.33% higher than in the control group. Positive dynamics was also noted in the increase in the weight of the gutted carcass in the experimental groups by 5.47 and 4.46% in comparison with the same indicator in the control group. The use of lactulose-containing additives when growing broilers has led to an improvement in the quantitative and qualitative characteristics of the resulting product ("white" meat). An increase is observed in the value of the mass fraction of protein by 0.5 and 0.6%, respectively, in comparison with the mass fraction of protein in the meat of the control group. The studied feed additives balanced the ratio of essential amino acids to replaceable ones. During the experiment, it was found that in the white meat of the experimental groups, in comparison with the white meat of the control group of broiler chickens, there was an increase in the content of essential amino acids on average by 0.31 г/100 г (3.6%) и 0.41 г/100 г (4.7%), respectively. Conclusion. In terms of a set of indicators, the meat of broiler chickens grown with the use of new lactulose-containing additives No. 1 and No. 2 has higher indicators of meat quality compared to the control. New domestic prebiotic supplements based on lactulose No. 1 and No. 2, used in the experiment, are not only a natural alternative to antibiotics, hormones or other growth stimulants, but also a mechanism for a better approach to the formation of general beneficial physical and biochemical properties of meat of broiler chickens. Given this, these additives can be recommended for widespread implementation in poultry farming.

Aim: The quantitative nutrient composition of leaves of Brillantaisia guianensis P. beuv was investigated. Source and Identification of Sample: The leaves of B. guianensis used in this study were harvested fresh from Ude plantation in Okon Aku, Ohafia Local Government Area of Abia State, Nigeria. They were identified by a Taxonomist (Dr Edwin Wosu) in the Herbarium Unit of the Department of Plant Science and Biotechnology, University of Port Harcourt.  Study Design: The study was designed, using standard methods, to determine the proximate, amino acids, minerals and vitamins composition of the leaves.  Results: The wet leaves were high in moisture (88.4%) while the dried sample had practically no moisture, indicating that the wet leaves could easily be prone to microbial spoilage due to high water activity. Drying increased protein level from 3.50 to 28.0% and ash from 2.36 to 27.7% among other parameters. The low calorific values for wet sample (16.1 kcal/100 g) and dry sample (152.3 kcal/100 g sample) showed that the leaves are poor energy-giving foods. However, the leaves contain good amino acid profile especially the essential amino acids (valine, threonine, isoleucine, leucine, lysine, methionine, phenylalanine and tryptophan). The nutrient mineral (Na, Ca, Mg, K, Se, P, Fe) levels were high to supply the World Health Organization recommended daily allowance for adults and children. The sample contains appreciable amount of fats and water -soluble vitamins required for growth.   Conclusion: The results show that the leaves are good sources of essential and non-essential amino acids, minerals and vitamins adequate to meet the required daily allowance for nourishment of the body.

Science and practice have proved that balanced nutrition involves the intake of the organic, mineral, and biologically active substances in the bird’s body in certain quantities and proportions due to their needs. Balanced poultry feeding is a guarantee of not only high productivity, but also the prevention of diseases that negatively affect the safety of livestock and product quality. Providing poultry with high-quality protein is especially important nowadays. Birds spend more essential amino acids per unit of body weight gain and, accordingly, more of them should be daily supplied to the body with feed. Plant proteins are the basis of grain feeds that contain all eleven essential amino acids required for protein synthesis in the body of chickens, ducks, geese, and turkeys. However, it was revealed that most of these amino acids are concentrated in grain in insufficient quantities and cannot fully satisfy the needs of highly productive poultry. As a result, it is necessary to additionally introduce high-protein supplements into the diet as a source of essential amino acids or use synthetic concentrates of lysine, methionine, threonine, and tryptophan. High-protein supplements are coming in two types – animal and plant-based. From the plant-based ones, soy products are considered the most valuable as a concentrated source of the first limiting amino acid - lysine, and sunflower meal is rich in methionine. And even so, plant-based protein feed is not able to create a complete balance of all essential amino acids. This can be done only if the animal-sourced protein is introduced into the poultry diet in the form of fish meal, meat and bone meal, meat meal, or yeast. Besides, scientific research has proven that yeast can be considered a wonderful natural source of B vitamins. The analysis of scientific research indicates that today there is a wide search and study of various feed supplements that could be a source of complete protein and have in its composition a complete complex of amino acids for birds. There are not enough such high-quality feed additives in Ukraine, and those coming from abroad are distinguished by high cost and are often falsified. Therefore, the use of yeast in poultry diets as long as their industrial production according to the technology based on the state standard is relevant for solving a number of modern poultry farming problems and is of great scientific and practical importance.

The work analyzes qualitative and quantitative amino acid composition of broiler meat for diet enrichment nanotracelement feed additive «Mikrostymulin». It was founded that poultry muscle in control and experimental groups contain such essential amino acids, as threonine, valine, isoleucine, leucine, phenylalanine, lysine, methionine, and tryptophan tsystin. Research the quality of the essential amino–acids showed the presence of aspartic acid, serine, glycine, tyrosine, alanine, glutamic acid, proline, histidine, arginine and oxyproline. It was established that the use of «Mikrostymulin» increases the content of amino acids in meat of broiler chickens. In muscles of broiler chickens in the 1st research group, have beenadded «Mikrostymulin» in a dose of 1 ml/dm³ of water, the amount of essential amino acids and replacement tends to increase at chest and hip muscles, compared with the contro group.. Obviously, this can be explained by improved assimilation of food and stimulating the synthesis of amino acids under the influence of the components of the feed additive. In chickensof the 2nd research group, they received «Mikrostymulin» at a dose of 10 ml/dm³ water, it was registered a tendency to increase essential amino acids in the pectoral muscles, but in the femoral – it was tendency to decrease. In chickens of the 3 rd research group, they received«Mikrostymulin» at a dose of 20 ml/dm³ water, it was registered a tendency to reduce the amount of essential amino acids in the chest and thigh muscles. Number of essential amino–acids in chicken pectoral muscle in the 2 nd experimental group also increased slightly, and in the3 rd – reduced slightly, but in the femoral muscles they decreased slightly in the 2 nd and 3 rd experimental groups compared to control group. It is proved that the use of nanotracelement feed additive «Mikrostymulin» in a dose of 1 ml / dm³ of water improves the quality and increases the biological value of meat.

AbstractThe prime purpose of this review is to explore the pathways whereby progress towards reduced-crude protein (CP) diets and sustainable chicken-meat production may be best achieved. Reduced-CP broiler diets have the potential to attenuate environmental pollution from nitrogen and ammonia emissions; moreover, they have the capacity to diminish the global chicken-meat industry’s dependence on soybean meal to tangible extents. The variable impacts of reduced-CP broiler diets on apparent amino acid digestibility coefficients are addressed. The more accurate identification of amino acid requirements for broiler chickens offered reduced-CP diets is essential as this would diminish amino acid imbalances and the deamination of surplus amino acids. Deamination of amino acids increases the synthesis and excretion of uric acid for which there is a requirement for glycine, this emphasises the value of so-called “non-essential” amino acids. Starch digestive dynamics and their possible impact of glucose on pancreatic secretions of insulin are discussed, although the functions of insulin in avian species require clarification. Maize is probably a superior feed grain to wheat as the basis of reduced-CP diets; if so, the identification of the underlying reasons for this difference should be instructive. Moderating increases in starch concentrations and condensing dietary starch:protein ratios in reduced-CP diets may prove to be advantageous as expanding ratios appear to be aligned to inferior broiler performance. Threonine is specifically examined because elevated free threonine plasma concentrations in birds offered reduced-CP diets may be indicative of compromised performance. If progress in these directions can be realised, then the prospects of reduced-CP diets contributing to sustainable chicken-meat production are promising.

COVID-19 is a severe disease in humans, as highlighted by the current global pandemic. Several studies about the metabolome of COVID-19 patients have revealed metabolic disorders and some potential diagnostic markers during disease progression. However, the longitudinal changes of metabolomics in COVID-19 patients, especially their association with disease progression, are still unclear. Here, we systematically analyzed the dynamic changes of the serum metabolome of COVID-19 patients, demonstrating that most of the metabolites did not recover by 1–3 days before discharge. A prominent signature in COVID-19 patients comprised metabolites of amino acids, peptides, and analogs, involving nine essential amino acids, 10 dipeptides, and four N-acetylated amino acids. The levels of 12 metabolites in amino acid metabolism, especially three metabolites of the ornithine cycle, were significantly higher in severe patients than in mild ones, mainly on days 1–3 or 4–6 since onset. Integrating blood metabolomic, biochemical, and cytokine data, we uncovered a highly correlated network, including 6 cytokines, 13 biochemical parameters, and 49 metabolites. Significantly, five ornithine cycle-related metabolites (ornithine, N-acetylornithine, 3-amino-2-piperidone, aspartic acid, and asparagine) highly correlated with “cytokine storms” and coagulation index. We discovered that the ornithine cycle dysregulation significantly correlated with inflammation and coagulation in severe patients, which may be a potential mechanism of COVID-19 pathogenicity. Our study provided a valuable resource for detailed exploration of metabolic factors in COVID-19 patients, guiding metabolic recovery, understanding the pathogenic mechanisms, and creating drugs against SARS-CoV-2 infection.
