Within the school, the child is modeled under all aspects: physical, intellectual, moral, aesthetic, starting from the earliest ages, the school years being defining for his personality formation, now realizing his socialization and preparing for integration into the society. Therefore, the latest resources must be used in order to make the process of motor skills training optimal.(Colibaba-Evuleț, 2007). That is why I propose to study various aspects regarding the improvement of the distributive attention to the children of the third grade, so that we can draw important conclusions for the educational instructional process. The development of the schoolchildren should be carefully designed for all age groups but especially for schoolchildren, who are most likely to experience the positive effects of training in the direction of growth and development of the body.

Two naturalistic research studies observed forty-five eleventh grade students carrying out research paper assignments and a third such study focussed 26 third grade students. The studies took place in Alberta (Canada) in 1993; Texas (USA) in 1996; and in Washington state (USA) in 1999. From data analyzed in the interviews and written documents, the initial findings indicate that third grade and eleventh grade students feel and think about research writing activities similarly. The younger students seemed more process oriented than the older ones. The third grade students commented on enjoying reading the information on their topic and telling the facts they had learned. The older students used methods of citation and more sophisticated paraphrasing techniques. The younger students did not use any citations. The amount of blatant copying for the Texas study and the Washington study were comparable. The mental models of both age groups were surprisingly similar.

This study aimed to identify the anaerobic capacity level of a sample of Omani children. The sample included 197 children between the ages of 9 to 13 years. The Running-based Anaerobic Sprint Test (RAST) was used. The sample was divided into five groups. The first group comprised the nine-year olds (19 children), the second group comprised the ten-year olds (22 children), the third group comprised the eleven-year olds (52 children), the fourth group comprised the 12-year olds (43 children), and the fifth comprised the 13-year olds (61 children). The results showed that the anaerobic capacity level improved during the stages of growth. The level of improvement achieved in 13-year old children was the highest compared to the other age-groups (P S 0.000). This improvement was not at a steady rate. It occurred through booms that coincided with growth which appears in practice through the evolution of not only the level of values on the amount of effort, but also in the level of some related motor skills. It showed a positive correlation between the values of the anaerobic capacity level, the time of running 100 meters and vertical jumping (p S 0.01). Accordingly, this phase can be considered one of those booms. Key words: anaerobic capacity, (Running-based Anaerobic Sprint Test (RAST), Omani children, the 100 meters running, vertical jumping.

It is said that soft skills are needed to have a successful life and career for students and can be trained in classroom by conducting collaborative learning. Then, polytechnic students have collaboration learning in their English classroom activity which is useful for their soft skills achivements. However, the students which have different level can have different perceptions on it. This research tries to compare students’ perceptions on their soft skills acquirement in the use of collaborative learning in English classroom in a state polytechnic. The first group is the freshmen, meanwhile the second group is the third grade students of Diploma 3. The study employs a qualitative research design, which is a case study. The data are gained from questionnaire, then observation and interviews are used to triangulate the data. The findings show that the freshmen perceive that they acquire soft skills in 90.9%, meanwhile the third graders are in 84.9%. This concludes that freshmen soft skills acquirement is higher than the third graders. It is recommended that collaborative learning method should be continued to develop the students’ soft skills, and the type of collaborative learning should be more appropriate for different grades of students.

Growth and development is a continuous process in the process of reaching adulthood, including the teenage stage. The problem that is often faced is physical change. Adolescent physical changes that appear are the increase in height and weight which affects the Body Mass Index (BMI). Height is one of the important things in adolescent growth and development. which is affected by genetic and environmental factors. The peak of growth in adolescents is different between boys and girls, so the pattern of height and BMI are also different. The purpose of this study was to determine differences in adolescent height based on age groups and BMI in Medical Faculty of UMM. This research is a comparative study by taking a sample of 100 medical students of UMM who have an age range of 17-20 years. The data to be taken is height measured using a MIC scale health scale ratio ratio. The measurement results have a numerical scale with units of centimeters (cm). Body mass index (BMI) is an index obtained from the division of body weight with height2. The measurement results are stated in kg / m2. All data obtained will be analyzed using the ANOVA comparative test. ANOVA test results generated p value in the two groups of students> 0.05 which concluded that the mean height of the student body based on age and BMI was not significantly different (not significant) statistically for both men and women. The conclusion from this study there were no differences in adolescent height based on age groups and BMI among medical students of UMM.
