Objectives: In our study we evaluate the hyperuricemia levels in patients presenting to us with the chief complaint of chronic lower back pain and determine the associations with age, gender and radiographic findings. Study Design: Cross sectional study. Setting: Dow University of Health Science Civil Hospital Karachi. Period: From April 2017 to September 2017. Material & Methods: Patients with lower back pain of a duration longer than three months and between the ages of 18 and 70 years were included. A complete history and physical examination was done for all the patients including relevant laboratory, radiographic and anthropometric measurements. The neurosurgeon also assessed the patient’s lower back pain and associated findings in the lower limbs. The patients also underwent radiographic evaluations via X-rays and Magnetic resonance imaging. Data were analyzed using IBM SPSS statistical software version 20. We considered a p value of < 0.05 to be statistically significant. Results: The final study population consisted of n= 110 patients of which n= 54 were males and n= 56 were females. Of the total patient population of the study n= 31 (28.18%) had increased serum uric acid and had nearly equal incidence in males and females (27.77% and 28.57% respectively). The highest incidence of hyperuricemia was found patients between 26 and 60 years of age. In our study n= 22 patients did not have any comorbid condition while joint pain was found in n= 24 patients (p-value of <0.05) of these patients they suffered from pain in their knees and tarsal joints. Lumbar disc prolapse was found in n= 21 patients (p-value of <0.05), lumbar disc degeneration was found in n= 16 patients (p-value of <0.0579). Furthermore, disc space narrowing was found in n= 27 patients having a p-value of <0.05. Conclusion: According to the results of our study hyperuricemia is found in one of every four with low back pain. There is a variable association between comorbid conditions and hyperuricemia. While an equal association is found between gender and hyperuricemia. There is also a strong association of hyperuricemia with joint space narrowing and lumbar disc narrowing of the lumbar vertebrae and it augments degenerative spondylolisthesis.

In fulfillment of these needs sometimes human forget to maintain their health, good attitude so that the position in work is not ergonomic which can lead to problems when carrying out activities. Lower back pain is a clinical symptom that is characterized by pain or a discomfort feeling in lower back area. In the United States, the incidence of lower back pain region in the past one year is 15% -20%. This study aims to see whether there were differences in giving of Mc Kenzie and Core Stability Exercise toward Functional Activity of Patients with Lower Back Pain. This study is quasi experiment with a sample of patients with lower back pain, with purposive sampling technique. The results obtained are p-value ? <(0,000 <0,05), it means that there is a difference in giving of Mc Kenzie Exercise toward the increase of Functional Activity of Patients with Lower Back Pain, that uses body movements that is directed to extension, to provide strengthening and reflecting on the extensor and flexor muscles of the lumbar joint, while the Core Stability Exercise has the ability to regulate the position and movement in the central region of the body, and it can be concluded that there is differences in Giving of Mc Kenzie Exercise toward the increase of Functional Activity of Patients with Lower Back Pain. It is recommended for patients who experience lower back pain so that keep always repeat the exercises that suggested by physiotherapist, for further research so that choose more samples.

Lower back pain is one of musculoskeletal disorder in the shape of pain in the back bone, to be exact is in the forth lumbar to the first sacrum. It is caused by the not appropriate posture (not ergonomic) while working or doing the activities, such as very long standing or sitting. This complaint can be reduced by sit stretching regularly. The aim of this study is to find out impact of sit stretching towards the changes of scale of lower back pain on employees at PT. Rifan Financindo Berjangka Branch Semarang. The method of research is quasy experiment designed in pre test and post test with compare group. Research subjects are 30 male and female employees. Sample taking uses total sampling. Statisitic test utilizes Mann Whitney with level of meaning (α=0,05). The result of pre test statisitc test is p-value = 0,467 (> 0,05), it means that  there is no significant difference scale of lower back pain between intervention group and compare group  before performing sit stretching to intervention  group. The post test statisitic the result is p-value = 0,001 (> 0,05), it means there is a significant difference scale of lower back pain at intervention group with compare group after performing sit stretching on the intervention group. Based on result of p-value on post test can be concluded that there is an impact of sit stretching towards the changes in scale of lower back pain on the employees at PT. Rifan Financindo Berjangka Branch Semarang.

Low back pain is one of the musculoskeletal disorders resulting from the wrong ergonomics. Such conditions can occur in the informal work sector, such as clothes tailors at the Martapura Bauntung Batuah Market. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of work position with complaints of lower back pain in clothes tailors at the Bauntung Batuah Market Martapura. This study is an analytical study with a cross-sectional approach. The sampling technique uses total sampling with criteria for male sex so that the number of samples is 43 people. Data will be analyzed using the x2 test (Chi-square). The results of the statistical analysis obtained the value of the work position p-value of 0,000 meaning that there is a relationship between the work position and complaints of lower back pain in the clothes tailor at the Martapura Bauntung Batuah Market. For other researchers, further research needs to being done on other factors such as individual factors and physical environmental factors that can cause complaints of lower back pain.

Background. Lower back pain is a common reason for disability and the most common cause is lumbar disc herniation. Percutaneous epidural adhesiolysis has been applied to relieve pain and increase the functional capacity of patients who present this condition.Objectives. In this study, we retrospectively evaluated the factors which predict the outcome of percutaneous epidural adhesiolysis in patients who were diagnosed with lumbar disc herniation.Methods. Electronic medical records of patients diagnosed with lumbar disc herniation who have received percutaneous epidural adhesiolysis treatment were reviewed. The primary outcome was the factors that were associated with substantial response of ≥4 points or ≥50% of pain relief in the numerical rating scale pain score 12 months after the treatment.Results. Multivariate logistic regression analysis demonstrated that the presence of high-intensity zone (HIZ) at magnetic resonance imaging was a predictor of substantial response to percutaneous epidural adhesiolysis for 12 months (P=0.007). The presence of a condition involving the vertebral foramen was a predictor for unsuccessful response after 12 months (P=0.02).Discussion and Conclusion. The presence of HIZ was a predictor of favorable long-term outcome after percutaneous epidural adhesiolysis for the treatment of lower back pain with radicular pain caused by lumbar disc herniation.

Background: Mining is an ancient occupation, long recognized as being arduous and liable to injury and disease. The lifecycle of mining consists of exploration, mine development, mine operation, decommissioning and land rehabilitation. Objective: To explore the prevalence characteristics and influence factors related to the development of work related musculoskeletal disorders of underground coalminers in Eastern Coalfield mines. Methods: In a cross-sectional study of 55 coalminers from Saatgram Project, Raniganj, Eastern Coalfields, modified Nordic Questionnaire was performed to assess the musculoskeletal disorders. Logistic regression analysis was performed to analyze the correlation between the occupational factors and their work related musculoskeletal disorders. Results: In this study 36 out of 55 miners (65.45%) complained about the development of musculoskeletal disorders at different body parts. The maximum pain was identified at lower back. The presence of lower back pain was observed among 58.18% of miners. The prevalence of pain in different body sites of the miners increased significantly with their ages. According to the present study, the repetitive operations and awkward postures were the risk factors for the development of work related musculoskeletal disorders in neck, shoulder and upper limbs; moreover, the repetitive operation of moving heavy substances and stooping postures continuously were related significantly – with the development of lower back pain at lower limbs due to the long standing awkward posture. Conclusion: It may be concluded from the above study that Eastern Coalfield miners are suffering from work related musculoskeletal disorders. Background: Pregnancy becomes a meaningful experience with all the changes both physically and psychologically. One of the changes is discomfort that occurs in the third trimester is lower back pain. Lower back pain can cause disruption of daily physical activity. Endorphin massage can be one of the measures to reduce pain in third trimester pregnant women because it releases endorphins from light massage and positive affirmations from the husband.Methods: This research was conducted in the working area of Pare Public Health Center Temanggung District. The methods used Quasi Experimental with Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. The population of this study were all third-trimester pregnant women with a gestational age of 36 weeks, its about 46 people. The tool used the data collection an observation sheet on the scale of Mankoski pain. Data analysis used Wilcoxon test.Result: The results of the study used Wilcoxon test items, namely p value of endorphin massage group of 0,000 with a value of Z 3.787 and the control group p value of 0.025 with a value of Z 2.235. This showed that both groups were equally influential, but the endorphins group had a stronger influence compared to the control group.Conclusion: Endorphin massage had an effect on reduced lower back pain in the third trimester of pregnant women. Endorphin massage contain mild massage and positive affirmations from husband that stimulated the emergence of endorphin so reduce pain sensation roomates. It was expected that endorphin massage can be applied by pregnant women and husband or families as one method of decreasing low back pain because it helped empower husband / families to improve the welfare of pregnant woman.

This study uses an observational design with a cross sectional approach 30 respondents who are currently still working at home during the COVID-19 pandemic have met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The research instrument used was a questionnaire to assess work from home and a Nordic Body Map (processed in google form format) to measure back pain complaints of employees who work online/WFH. The data obtained were tested for normality with the Chi - Square test . The results showed there is no a relationship between the sexes with the onset of lower back pain in the employees work from home days of the pandemic COVID 19, the value of ρ-value of 0.795 > α (0.05) and t There is no relationship between years of service and the incidence of low back pain in employees working from home during the COVID-19 pandemic, the value of is 0.977 > (0.05). But there is a relationship between age and the incidence of lower back pain in the employees work from home days of the pandemic COVID 19, with a value of ρ-value of 0.001 < α (0.05), there is a relationship between length of employment with the onset of lower back pain in the employees work from home future pandemic COVID 19, with a value of p-value (0.000) < α (0.05) and there is a relationship between working attitude with the onset of lower back pain in the employees work from home days of the pandemic COVID 19, with a value of ρ-value of 0.002<(0.05).

Lower Back Pain (NPB) is one of the most common Musculoskeletal disorders in work activities. The World Health Organization (WHO) says that 2% -5% of employees in industrialized countries suffer from Lower Back Pain (NPB) each year, and 15% of abstentism in the steel industry and trade industry is caused by NPB. Lower Back Pain caused by an incorrect sitting position at work is a clinical syndrome characterized by the main symptoms of pain or other feelings that are uncomfortable in the lower back region. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between attitude and length of sitting with complaints of low back pain in Samura Village, Kabanjahe Subdistrict, Karo District in 2019. The type and design in this study were quantitative analytical surveys with cross sectional design conducted in March - June 2019 in Samura Village, Kabanjahe Subdistrict, Karo District with a total sample of 36 people, sampling uses the total sampling method. Retrieval of research data using observations, the instrument for data retrieval in this study is the observation sheet. Bivariate analysis using Chi Square test. The results showed the average score of respondents 'sitting attitude was (58.3%), the average score of respondents' sitting time was (63.9%) and the average score of low back pain was (50.0%). Chi Square test results showed that sitting attitude p value = 0.007 and length of sitting p value = 0.037 means Ho was rejected meaning there was a relationship between attitude and length of sitting with complaints of low back pain in Samura Village, Kabanjahe District, Karo District. The results of this study are expected to pay attention to sitting staff who are ergonomic so as not to cause lower back pain.
