Significant research has focused on e-mail, face-to-face (FTF), and other asynchronous mediated communication as the communication media of choice within organizations. Modern organizations, however, have other unconventional tools at their disposal. While the economy of scale has made videoconferencing an affordable medium of choice because it precludes travel and is accessible on demand, the suitability of the videoconferencing for organizational meetings is scarce in the literature. As such, this paper explores and presents an account of videoconferencing use in a governmental organization and address implications for meetings and general communication process.

Horizontal communication in the implementation of the BUMDes program has been carried out well, the process of delivering messages is carried out well, but there are obstacles in the form of frequency for communicating which are still lacking. In the context of external communication carried out by BUMDes, it was found that the communication process between BUMDes and the Inspectorate of TTU Regency had been carried out properly and in the form of formal communication, the obstacle encountered was the inability of BUMDes officials in compiling financial accountability reports which resulted in obstruction of the communication process. While the results of research related to BUMDes communication with the community, it was found that the communication process was not carried out properly. The low level of community participation is caused by the fact that the communication that is built is not participative communication.

The study aims to determine the organizational communication process between lecturers and staff in shaping the organizational climate as an effort to increase student satisfaction at the Ar-Raniry State Islamic University in Banda Aceh. In conducting this research, researchers used a qualitative approach using interview techniques with several members of the organization namely lecturers, employees, and students. Researchers also made direct observations at five faculties at UIN Ar-Raniry. From the results of the research conducted showed that the organizational communication process that has been going on between lecturers, staff, and students is still not running effectively. This is due to miscommunication that occurs as well as unsatisfactory employee service performance. The tight schedule of several lecturers is also a problem in increasing student satisfaction. Organizational communication that occurs linearly, top down, even circularly has not yet been formed as a whole and effectively. This then forms a closed organizational climate. The closed climate of organizational communication has been a limiting factor for the communication of lecturers and staff in increasing the satisfaction of UIN Ar-Raniry students.

Abstract. The current study analyzes how two components of perceived organizational communication (vertical and horizontal) are related to employee turnover intentions via three types of affective commitment foci (organization, supervisor, and team). Using second-order confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modeling techniques with a large cross-sectional dataset ( n = 3,317), our results show that, in line with social cohesion theory, vertical communication (e.g., supportiveness from the organization) is strongly related to affective organizational commitment, whereas horizontal communication (e.g., supportiveness from colleagues) is primarily related to affective team commitment. Additionally, both communication dimensions are related to affective supervisory commitment. Finally, these three foci of affective commitment incrementally explain and differentially mediate the relationship between perceived organizational communication and turnover intention.
