Rural differentiation processes have formed the backbone of rural studies. Owing to the strength of rural–urban and local–global relationships, the theoretical approaches to rural restructuring in the Anglo-Saxon world and new rurality in Latin America only have a limited capacity to explain contemporary global phenomena of rural spaces. Due to this, transverse theoretical and methodological approaches have emerged to explain social, environmental and spatial (rural) processes. Here, a new approach is proposed called the individual–global field, based on the individual–global binary category to substitute the traditional relevance of the locality–community–globality association This new approach tries to reinvigorate rural geography in a more flexible way, based on minor theory, to adapt to all the phenomena that can occur globally. In any case, various spatial planes are proposed, dominated by specific socioeconomic processes on which the rural individual would move.

The article presents a typology of rural areas in the Russian Federation in terms of the level and dynamics of socioeconomic development based on comparative statistical and comparative trend methods of analysis, which the authors have elaborated. The authors cover methodological approaches, as well as organizational and economic mechanisms of agriculture, which are stipulated in the government program “Integrated Development of Rural Areas” for 2020-2025, and their expected influence on the transformation of types of rural areas, which have arisen in the country.

The reviewed collection of articles constitutes an intriguing attempt to understand the modern processes taking place in rural areas in terms of their relationship with utopian ideas and positions of neoliberalism. Using field materials from Central and Eastern Europe and China, researchers demonstrate a wide range of scenarios and practices related to imagining the rural world and rural lifestyles emerging in the context of globalization, industrialization, information technology development, and neoliberal politics. The similarity of the authors' methodological approaches and the general theoretical framework ensure the structural and substantive integrity of the collection, which allows the reader to engage in discussions about economic, social, cultural and other changes that are characteristic of most modern rural areas.

Czech countryside and agriculture entered a new phase of development in May 2004. The transformation period after 1989 has changed the employment conditions of rural population as well as the conditions of economic subjects functioning in the rural space considerably. Its multifunctional character is now shifting from the sphere of theoretical thinking to the expected reality of the nearest years. The fact that the necessary economic prerequisites and their social impacts are closely tied together stresses the necessity of forming such tools of following and evaluating of the rural development criteria which would be able to reflect in a relevant way important indicators of the positive and negative changes in the working and living conditions of the population. The contribution issues from the experience of empirical research and reflects its future orientation, methodological approaches and possibilities.

Pedagogical guidelines for the education in/of/to the rural areas must be based on the socio-educational development and on a constant dialogue between scientific and empirical knowledge. In this context, our objective is to identify formative interlocutions in the rural/countryside education in undergraduate courses of Agricultural Sciences in Brazil, through the analysis of their Political-Pedagogical Projects (PPP). This is a qualitative research with a descriptive and exploratory approach. It focuses on the theoretical background about rural educational project. It is also a document-based study that has as its source data from Anísio Teixeira Platform, connected to the Ministry of Education, as well as PPP emitted by the higher education institutions. The criteria chosen to establish the study’s time frame was the accessibility of the most recent information that were available during the process of information gathering – June, 2020. The results show that twelve of the studied courses had as their formative reference agricultural education – in terms of hegemonic production processes such as agribusiness, adopting a technicist approach. Only five of the studied courses were characterized by a formative framework aimed at the education of the rural areas – encompassing several expressions of rural life, such as family agriculture, peasantry and so forth. These courses make reference not only to these specific methodological approaches, but also to public policies related to this issue. Furthermore, we also identified in the institutions’ PPP a chaotic duality of concepts of education in/of the rural areas, on the one hand, and agricultural education on the other; such chaotic mixture of concepts is prone to be reproduced in the praxis of the teachers.

The purpose of the article is substantiation of the theoretical and methodological provisions of inclusive rural development and the development of guidelines for assessing social, economic and political changes in rural areas for compliance with the principles of inclusive development. Research methods. As a methodological base for the development of the problem under study, the provisions of the concept of inclusive growth and development, as well as rural development, were used. The research used methods: analysis and synthesis (in the study of the nature and main provisions of inclusive rural development), comparative analysis (in the analysis of methods for developing integrated indices and determining their advantages and disadvantages), statistical methods (for calculating the integral index of inclusive rural development). Research results. The research improves the theoretical and methodological principles of inclusive rural development and develops methodological approaches to its measurement. The proposed methodological approach is based on the measurement of inclusive rural development in two areas: the sectoral dimension, which includes the political, social and economic components of inclusion; a component dimension that assesses inclusion at the level of access, quality and distribution of goods and services. The existing methodological approaches to the development of integrated indices that can be used for measuring inclusive rural development are analyzed. Given the advantages and disadvantages of available methods, as well as the possibility of their application for the purposes of this study, the feasibility of using the method of weighted amounts for integrated assessment of inclusive rural development is justified. The normative approach was used as a method of standardization of indicators. It is established that the lag in the level of inclusive development in rural areas is -0.073 or -11.7% of national indicators. The variation of deviations in the components of sectoral inclusion is higher than in the component inclusion. In the sectoral dimension, the largest deviation of indices compared to national indicators is observed for social inclusion (-0.122 or -16.3%), and the smallest - for political (-0.04 or -6.8%). Variation of deviations from national indicators by types of inequality in access, quality and distribution of goods and services - by component inclusion, has a smaller range: -9.2… -13.2%. Scientific novelty. Theoretical provisions of inclusive rural development are developed and a methodological approach for its assessment is proposed based on the use of a two-dimensional matrix of indicators, which includes three sectoral dimensions (political, social and economic) and three component dimensions of inclusiveness (accessibility, quality and distribution of public goods and services). Practical significance. The developed methodological approach can be used to monitor the program documents implementation in the sustainable development sphere, the implementation of rural development policies and inclusive development. The flexibility of the methodological approach as for using different sets of indicators allows it to be implemented at the UTC level, which is planned to justify and test in the following publications. Currently, for the agro-industrial complex development, it is necessary to apply new modern methodological approaches. Among the variety of methods, it is advisable to choose those methodological approaches that will make it possible to form the optimal directions for socio-economic development of rural areas more adequately, provided they improve the integral ecosystem state. This article is devoted to the development of a methodology for searching, selecting, calculating key parameters and integral indicators having a significant impact on the state and development of agricultural territories. The research aims to study the possibilities of integrating assessments based on the processing of statistical reporting materials and Earth remote sensing (ERS) data. The novelty of the work is in the development of a methodological approach for using statistical reporting data and indirect remote sensing data on the level of territory bioproductivity (net primary production) at various levels of spatial analysis (from the level of rural settlement and above). A database of indicators of ecosystem state of rural areas for various levels of integration (from a rural settlement and above) was created using modern software. Moreover, comparable level indicators of their current state were calculated; procedures for spatial visualization of the calculation results for pilot districts and Crimea as a whole were developed. The indicator of the socio-economic direction in 2020 for the Republic of Crimea decreased by 7 % compared to 2019; only for the Kirovsky and Leninsky districts, it remained at the same level. Considering the ecological indicator, the overall integral indicator of the ecosystem state of territories decreased by 3.9 % and worsened for almost all districts (except Kirovsky). The use of satellite information to analyze the dynamics of the development of rural areas showed the continuing negative trend in annual indicators of bioproductivity (about 1.2 % on average per year for the period 2000–2020). All visualization data are implemented through a server web platform using GIS software product – NextGISWeb to allow a third-party user having an opportunity to access the available information to conduct analytical or management activities.
