The article examines the state and prospects for the development of spirituality in modern Kazakhstani society in the context of the modernization of public consciousness and the spiritual revival of culture. Spirituality as one of the fundamental principles of the socio-cultural code of the people is rooted in the historical past. To master and understand the spiritual culture of modern society and to take a panoramic view of the future, it is necessary to extract from the cultural heritage the meaning-forming socio-cultural spiritual values. Spirituality acts as a moral concept in the philosophical searches of Abai and Shakarim. As you know, the basis of the moral teachings of Abai and Shakrim is the spirituality of the Kazakh people, which is preserved in traditions and customs in oral folk art and the works of thinkers of the Great Steppe. The article emphasizes that spirituality is a kind of measure for defining true humanity, an indicator of the degree of meaningfulness of a person’s being. The whole life of a person in the creative quests of Abai and Shakarim is the process of the birth of a personality, self-improvement of the inner spiritual world. By joining the spiritual, moral experience of other people as well as thinkers of the past, a person realizes his spiritual self-determination in the socio-cultural space of the modern world. The article raises an urgent question about the preservation and development of national languages in the context of globalization and modernization of the modern society. Language as one of the main factors in preserving the cultural heritage of the people should gain the state support. Our main goal is to find ways to optimally combine traditional culture, the mentality of peoples and their languages with the universal interests of modernization processes in modern society. The reasons for the concern of various experts on the preservation and development of both national languages and national culture are revealed. This article suggests ways to solve the language problems that have affected viability of the languages. Since language is part of culture, it is important to teach elements of the culture when teaching the native language, which involves familiarizing children with the culture of the people carrier of the language, the peculiarities of customs, lifestyles, history, traditions, customs, rules of conduct and other values. Our task is through joint work to instill in children love of their people, of their mother tongue, national traditions, all those spiritual values accumulated by the people from generation to generation, to prevent the disappearance of native languages, to preserve more native word of the native language, develop their traditions, customs and their native language for future generations. Starting from kindergarten and primary school, it is necessary to introduce children to the history and culture of their people. They must learn their native language and know their ancestry. It is necessary to start learning from childhood because children perceive what they hear and see more easily. Only within such system of education and upbringing will children grow up to be full-fledged and intelligent people who can contribute to the treasury of their national culture.

Most analysts acknowledge that guilt is a pervasive element in modern society. Possessed of a strong sense of impending doom through nuclear warfare, crises of ecology or overpopulation, modern man is haunted by an overriding sense of fear and guilt, wondering what quality in himself caused such an imminence of death. But surely this sense of guilt is not a creation of the modern world. Indeed guilt in the form of sin is even more comprehensible in earlier periods of history, where the culture was religiously oriented and where the wrath of a personal God could be visited upon a population in the form of plague or famine because of the sins of the people. Theories of guilt as applied to history, however, are much too sparse. One reason for this deficiency is that in order to use the psycho-historical technique, historians would be removed from the factual world and would be forced to probe the labyrinthine internal world that is illogical, devious and intangible. A few brave souls have explored the uncharted realms of the unconscious in the study of religion, both past and present. Yet, strangely enough, no one has ever focused upon guilt as an impetus in perhaps the most important aspect of religion—at least of Christian religion—the role of witness, better known as martyrdom.

The article is devoted to the theoretical understanding of the trends and value priorities of modern society. The global world dictates to a person new conditions for development and value reorientation associated with transformational processes in information cyberspace. The changes taking place in the consumer society are associated with social, economic and cultural conditions. There is a change in the established spiritual values and human needs for values of a one-dimensional, pragmatic and utilitarian sense. Various ways of value reassessment of the current trends in society, which would contribute to the formation of sustainable development on the basis of an adequate worldview search for alternative ways of developing the future world, are considered. The methodological basis of this study is the positions and conclusions of leading Western and Russian scientists who have paid great attention to the problems of global transformations in the modern world, which are closely related to the formation of a system of values. The study uses elements of a transdisciplinary paradigm that combines theoretical and methodological principles of system-structural, functional and comparative analysis, allowing us to trace the development of modern social relations against the background of the crisis of the global value system. The use of structural-functional and comparative methods helped to reveal the specifics and interconnectedness of value preferences in different cultures, made it possible to analyze the features of the contradictory socio-cultural space of modern society and identify its main axiological characteristics. The modern information society generates a completely different worldview and environment of activity, where the value system directly depends on intelligence and knowledge, and information becomes a strategic resource of society.

Preservation and enhancement of national values — is the main goal of the work according to the implementation of the program «Rukhani Zhangyru». The program «Rukhani Zhangyru» is a new stage in the historical development of modern Kazakhstan. The modernization of the public consciousness of each individual involves a revision of the young people's attitude to themselves in order to achieve success in their professional activities and consolidate their competitiveness. At the same time, it is important to preserve all the positive experience that has accumulated over the centuries, the peculiarities of the people and the country, in this process and education plays a system-forming role. Today in Kazakhstan, the issue of promoting values in the student environment, developing young people's feelings of belonging to the present and past of the Motherland, responsibility for its future is acute, but the potential of the educational space in the implementation of this process is not fully disclosed. In the conditions of the changed educational space of these states, the process of forming a new generation of socially active, responsible for the development and preservation of spiritual values of young citizens with all the values put forward by the states is relevant. In order to determine the initial level of formation of the values of «Rukhani Zhangyru» among Kazakhstani students, there was organized an online survey among students and teachers of Kazakhstani universities using the Google Form. The significance of this survey lies in the possibility of stating the initial state of the formation of the values of «Rukhani Zhangyru» among Kazakhstani students. In turn, these results will be the starting point for determining the content of promoting the values of «Rukhani Zhangyru» in Kazakhstan's universities. the survey confirmed the need to activate the process of socialization of students. Our idea is to ensure the consistency of the educational process through its integration into the content of educational disciplines. In this aspect, the promotion of the values of «Rukhani Zhangyru» among students needs to find methodological solutions and strategies that are the subject of further work within the project. The expected results will contribute to the promotion of the values of «Rukhani Zhangyru» among students

Liminality of the Cultural Landscape According to Tim Ingold, cultural landscape is not „land” nor „space”, but is a dweller’s narration on the reality that surrounds him or her. This narration is in permanent process, it grows with the society that lives in a certain place, parts of it die with the people that pass away. Although it is subject to individual reception, some narrations are shared by many. Therefore it is both personal and social phenomenon. This narrative landscape is full of borders and spheres that are built on symbolic values of places and objects. In traditional societies it has been well visible – one could easily distinct the narration of the forest from the narration of the village. In the modern world the landscape has gone through a major transformation, nonetheless it kept crucial mechanisms of its construction. Contemporary multi‑sited landscapes or virtual landscapes also contain borders and spheres, are individual and shared by many. This article presents recent changes in the approach to the liminality of the cultural landscape, differences that were experienced when passing from traditional to modern society. This change is particularly visible when comparing generations: new global generation (generation Y, generation Z) has a different experience of the landscape than generation of their parents and grandparents – who had grown in a still local and territorially defined places. But new landscapes do have borders and spheres, however their shape may be slightly different.

This article deals with the new forms of communication with the dead which appeared in our modern world as a result of technical progress. These are the contact forms based on using a lot of different technical devices, such as photo, audio and, less often, video ones. Most of them are based both on socalled Electronic Voice Phenomenon, “discovered” in the 1960s by Friedrich Jurgenson and spiritualistic photography which was very popular in the end of the 19th – beginning of the 20th century. In the 1917s, all of these types of communications were named “instrumental transcommunication”. The article observes the main methods and process content of instrumental transcommunication, justification of this phenomenon by its researchers, relations between the roles of operator and devices’ functions in this process. The author also considers the researchers’ world view for justification of their experiences and results, relations of modern methods with the ones used by spiritualism followers, and purposes set by the people who practice different methods of instrumental transcommunication. The author pays attention to source of specified methods and changes which occurred in separate ways of communication with the dead, their appearance, and their use by Russian researches in our time. The paper questions the possibility of assignment of this way of communication with the dead to necromantic practice, and of relation of the practicing communities to mystical and esotherical ones. Consideration of all of these questions is important for understanding the changes which we see in traditional magic practice depending on technical progress in modern society

Abstract As the modern world oscillates between powerful contrasts and profound discords, while promoting an individualistic relativism and placing excessive value on the biological life, seen as the only means towards fulfillment for a human existence reduced almost exclusively to the material plane, as the modern secularist views dispute Christian spiritual values more and more, the Church is called to adopt a new type of ministry. The Creed of the post modern society is the “transvaluation of all values”, which questioning and criticizing everything that offers stability to a society by anchoring it to history and tradition. Therefore, pornography, homosexuality, abortion, licentiousness and divorce have become everyday realities promoted through media and elevated to the level of a mandatory normality. Sex is now not only a commodity, but also a means to controlling the person. To overcome this real social crisis of the modern secularized society, the Christians of the 21st century are called to rediscover their liturgical vocation and the true meaning and power of the Worship with all its eschatological, ecclesiological, ascetical and cosmic dimensions and content.

Over the past decades, public consciousness has undergone reconsideration of the spiritual values. This heightened the interest towards the works of the classics of world literature, including Yakut. Among the compositions of Yakut literature, the dramatic poem by P. A. Oyunsky “The Red Shaman” is of definite interest. This work, as an example of high art, continues to heat the imagination and gives food for thoughts. Since its first publication, “The Red Shaman” arouses interest of multiple literary scholars and linguists. There is an urgent need for revising its ideological content through the prism of universal outlook upon the world as demanded by time. An attempt is made to reveal the true content of P. A. Oyunsky’s dramatic poem The Red Shaman” from the perspective of new generation of the audience, by detection of literary techniques applied by the author, examination of conflict situations, interaction between the images that requires axiomatic method, as well as usage of the method of abstraction within the framework of anthropomorphic principle of research that suggests reference to the primary source for ethical-philosophical interpretation based on the new approach. The attention of both, audience and researchers is currently focused on comprehension of the authentic content of P. Oyunsky's compositions outside the influence of traditional interpretations. Traditional folklore is a vast area of human activity, which is why it is important to fixate and study ethnocultural phenomena and their rethinking. This article is devoted to the study of some issues of the mutual influence of two independent areas of folklore: the pagan rite of Soren in antiquity and the no less ancient genre – the epic, identifying common problems in these areas of folk culture. Considered from the point of view of historical, mythological, artistic, aesthetic, moral, educational, socially significant criteria, ritual and epic actions that have come down to our days can be called an institution for the preservation of identity, values and creative self-expression. Revealing the early mythological ideas and historical memory of the people, recorded in the verbal epic text of the rite, for example, can play an important role in the ethnic identity of a particular nation, which is especially important for modern society. Scholarly research on this topic contributes to the creation of a balance between the process of globalization in culture and the need to preserve and maintain ethnic diversity in the modern world. The purpose of the study was to determine the common roots of the epic and the Soren rite, and from the codes preserved in ritual and epic folklore, to establish the evolving signs of the mythological consciousness of the ethnos. The main source of factual material in the study was the texts of the Turkic epic folklore, as well as the song texts performed during the said folk holiday; materials newly found during scientific expeditions were widely used, in particular – on ritual folklore. The study used comparative, structural and descriptive, historical and typological methods. The scholarly novelty of the article lies in the fact that for the first time, in a kind of ethnic example, the issue of integration of the epic heritage and ritual folklore is raised, the current state and transformation of the Soren calendar-ritual holiday among the Tatars is considered, new material on the ritual folklore of the Tatars is introduced into scientific circulation in comparison with samples Turkic epic. The authors' approach to the problem in a little-studied ritual-situational aspect made it possible to identify some common markers and codes that exist in the epic and ritual culture of the people. As a result of the study, the relationship between tradition and modernity in the Tatar epic and calendar-ritual folklore were characterized, some stylistic and genre-poetic commonality between ritual and epic were established, appropriate conclusions were drawn, and the topic's potential for further study of the issue were determined.
