Birth weight is one factor of neonates that can cause asphyxia neonatorum and is one indicator ofthe health of the newborn. The result of Riskesdas 2013 explained the low birth weight infants is 10.2% and WHO data shows every year about 3% of 120 million newborn have asphyxia. This study aims to analyze the correlation of low birth weight infants with neonatorum asphyxia incidence in dr. Iskak Tulungagung Hospital year 2016. This study was executed on July 18 to 19 2017 in dr.Iskak Tulungagung Hospital. The type research used analytical survey with correlational design and retrospective cohort study. Independent variable was low birth weight infants and dependent variable was neonatorum asphyxia. The population was 949 and sample was 162 with Simple Random Sampling technique, and used medical record instruments. From the 162 samples, found that almost half of respondents were 46.9% experienced low birth weight infants and almost all of the respondents were 88.3% experienced asphyxia neonatorum. Based on chi square test obtained (p)=0.001<(α)=0,05 and C=0,257, it means there is significant correlation between low birth weight infants and asphyxia with low correlation neonatorum. Odds ratio is 9,116, it means that risk of asphyxia neonatorum at low birth weight infants is 9.116 times great than normal birth weight infant. At the low birth weight infants a lot of risk of problems in the body because immaturity of organ system, so easily attacked by complications such as an asphyxia neonatorum.

Low Birth Weight (LBW) is the first cause of infant mortality in West Java. Babies born with LBW need to get serious treatment, because in these conditions babies are easily distracted. Factors that influence the occurrence of LBW are age, nutritional status, pregnancy distance and maternal parity (Manuba, 2010). The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between maternal nutritional status and the incidence of low birth weight (LBW). This study used a descriptive analytic using a cross sectional approach. The research was conducted in August 2020 - December 2020 at RSIA dr. Djoko Pramono. The sample of this study were all deliveries at RSIA dr. Djoko Pramono from August-16 October 2020, totaling 182. Data collection techniques with secondary data were arranged using a master table. The results of the study were analyzed bivariately using the chi Square test. Based on the results of statistical analysis with chi square, it was found that there was a significant relationship between nutritional status and the incidence of LBW, with a p value of 0.000 (<0.05), OR = 16.684. Background : The incidence of neonatal jaundice on low birth weight babies (BBLR) are mostly lead to mortality. A preliminary survey in the neonatal room of the public hospital (RSUD) Sidoarjo in January to December 2013 showed that there were 391 (12%) babies born with low birth weight from 3,210 natalities with 375 (9%) neonatal jaundice recorded from 3878 babies. Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the influence of low birth weight on the incidence of neonatal jaundice in RSUD Sidoarjo. Methods: The study design was a cross-sectional study with a total of 190 babies included as the study population. However, there were only 129 babies selected as respondents determined from solving formula with randomized sampling method. There were two variables measured in this study, namely low birth weight, and neonatal jaundice incidents. The secondary data were obtained from patients’ medical records and were analyzed through a chi-square test to investigate the correlation between the two variables. Results: Results showed that the percentage of babies born with low birth weight was 21.71% and the neonatal jaundice was 29.46%. The number of babies suffered from neonatal jaundice with low birth weight was 17.80% with p=0.01. Conclusion: By all means, the low birth weight has a contribution in the incidence of neonatal jaundice in RSUD Sidoarjo.

Introduction:Every pregnant mother wants their baby to be born in normal and healthy condition. Therefore, it would become a stressful event that might cause psychological distress or even emotional crisis in mother, when their infants are premature and low birth weight born. Methodology: A cross-sectional study to investigate the psychological well being of mothers with low birth weight infants admitted to the SCN. It was conducted on one hundred and thirty (n=130) of mothers who delivered their babies at labor room, HRPZ II, Kota Bharu, Kelantan. Depression Anxiety Stress Scale (DASS-21) score were used. Data were analyzed using the Chi-square tests. Statistically significant with p-value < 0.05. Results:There was statistically significant between maternal age and anxiety (χ²=22.10, p=0.036) and stress (χ²=17.50, p=0.041) by using chi square test. There was no significant association between maternal age and depression (χ²=10.37, p=0.321). For others demographic variables, there was no statistically significant with depression, anxiety and stress of mothers (p>0.05). Conclusion:Based on the finding in this study, most of the respondent’s have anxiety compared to depression and stress. Therefore, a nurse must have knowledge and skills, especially in terms of psychology, in handling cases related to the mother who have given birth to a low birth weight (LBW) child because parting with their children due to the relatively long hospitalization.

Abstract Background Informal street traders are exposed on a daily basis to traffic emissions and biomass fuel smoke containing a variety of pollutants. These exposures are likely to place the female traders at increased risk for adverse reproductive outcomes. Aim The aim of this study was to compare the reproductive outcomes among street traders exposed to pollutants from their work-related activities and traders without such exposure. Methods A cross-sectional study was conducted among 305 female traders selected from exposed and non-exposed areas within the Warwick Junction trading hub, located in Durban, South Africa. Validated reproductive questionnaires and clinical assessments were conducted on all participants. Adverse reproductive outcomes such as low birth weight, spontaneous abortions and infertility were assessed. Results The mean age of the traders was 43.6 years (SD:12.1), mostly single (63%) and worked in trading hub for an average of 14 years. There were 876 pregnancies reported in the total sample. Traders pregnant while working in this location accounted for 120 pregnancies There was an increased risk of exposed traders having a low birth weight infant as compared to non-exposed traders (OR = 3.7; CI: 1.8, 7.6). Exposed traders were also almost 3 times more likely to be infertile as compared to non-exposed traders (OR = 2.6; CI: 1.6, 4.3). Conclusions This study has demonstrated that female street traders working within a trading hub in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa; exposed to occupational pollutants show an association with developing infertility and low birth weight infants. Recommendations to mitigate adverse exposures have been suggested which include short term safety interventions and better cooking practices and future long term policy interventions.
