ABSTRACT Kedondong leaves (Spondias dulcis) contain flavonoid compounds, saponins and tannins that inhibit bacterial activity. This study aims to formulate, evaluate, and test the antibacterial effectiveness of the ethanol extracts gel of the Kedondong leaves (Spondias dulcis) at a concentration of 6%, 8%, 10%, respectively. This study uses an experimental method by testing the physical evaluation requirements of gel preparations. Physical evaluation of preparations includes organoleptic test, homogeneity test, pH test, dispersion test, adhesion test and cycling test, all tests are carried out before and after the cycling test. The results of the study on the gel dispersion test did not meet the physical evaluation requirements before the cycling test and after the cycling test there was a synergetic and did not meet the requirements. Antibacterial test of ethanol extracts gel of Kedondong leaves against Pseudomonas aeruginosa produced weak inhibitory properties. It can be concluded that the gel concentration of 6%, 8%, 10% of ethanol extract of Kedondong leaves cannot be formulated as a gel preparation because it is less physically stable and has weak antibacterial activity.  Keywords: Antibacterial, HPMC Gel, Kedondong (Spondias dulcis), Pseudomonas aeruginosa   ABSTRAK Daun Kedondong (Spondias dulcis) mengandung senyawa flavonoid, saponin dan tannin yang mampu menghambat aktivitas bakteri.  Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memformulasi, mengevaluasi, serta menguji efektivitas antibakteri sediaan gel ekstrak etanol daun Kedondong (Spondias dulcis) pada kosentrasi 6%, 8%, 10%. Hasil penelitian pada uji daya sebar sediaan gel tidak memenuhi persyaratan eveluasi fisik sebelum uji cycling test dan setelah cycling test terjadi sineresis dan tidak memenuhi syarat. Penelitian uji antibakteri sediaan gel ekstrak etanol daun Kedondong pada bakteri Pseudomonas aeruginosa menghasilkan daya hambat yang lemah. Dapat disimpulkan pada gel kosentrasi 6%, 8%, 10% ekstrak etanol daun Kedondong tidak dapat diformulasi sebagai sediaan gel karena kurang stabil secara fisik dan memiliki aktivitas antibakteri yang lemah.  Kata kunci : Antibakteri, Gel HPMC, Kedondong (Spondias dulcis), Pseudomonas aeruginosa

ABSTRACT Kaliandra Leaf (Calliandra surinamensis Benth) contains flavonoid compounds, saponins and tannins which are able to inhibit the antibacterial activity. This study aims to test the antibacterial effectiveness of gel preparation of ethanol extracts of kaliandra leaf to obtain the greatest formula, and prove the Kaliandra leaf gel preparation has good physical stability. This study uses a laboratory experimental method. Gel formula is made as many as 5 formulas with variations in the concentration of 2%, 3%, 4%, 5%, and 6% of w : v. Kaliandra leaf extraction was carried out by maceration method using 96% ethanol. The antibacterial test of the ethanol extracts of Kaliandra leaf gel using the method of welling against Staphylococcus aureus bacteria produced a moderate inhibition of 7.0 ± 0.63 mm at a concentration of 6%. The physical evaluation of the preparation includes organoleptic test, homogeneity test, syneresis test, scatter power test, adhesion test, pH test, cycling test, and sterility test. All tests are carried out before and after the cycling test. The results of the study on the preparation fulfilled the physical evaluation requirements before and after the cycling test. Ekstraksi daun Kaliandra dilakukan dengan metode maserasi menggunakan etanol 96%.  Penelitian uji antibakteri sediaan gel ekstrak etanol daun Kaliandra menggunakan metode sumuran pada bakteri staphylococcus aureus menghasilkan daya hambat yang sedang yaitu 7,0±0,63 mm pada konsentrasi 6%. Evaluasi fisik sediaan meliputi uji organoleptik, uji homogenitas, uji sineresis, uji daya sebar, uji daya lekat, uji pH, uji cycling test, dan uji sterilitas. Semua pengujian dilakukan sebelum dan sesudah cycling test. Hasil penelitian sediaan memenuhi persyaratan eveluasi fisik sebelum uji cycling test dan sesudah cycling test. Dapat disimpulkan pada kosentrasi 6% ekstrak etanol daun Kaliandra dapat diformulasi sebagai sediaan gel yang stabil secara fisik dan memiliki aktivitas antibakteri yang sedang. Kata kunci : Kaliandra (Calliandra surinamensis Benth), Sediaan Gel, Antibakteri Staphlococcous  aureus.

ABSTRACT Kersen leaf (Muntingia calabura L.) contains flavonoids, saponins and tannins, which could inhibit bacterial activity. This study aimed to formulate, evaluate, and to test the effectiveness of antibacterial preparations for the Kersen leaf ethanol extracts mask.  This study uses the experimental method by testing the parameters of the physical evaluation requirements for the masker. Physical evaluation of preparations included organoleptic test, homogeneity test, pH test, scattering power test, dry time test, sticky test and cycling test, all tests were carried out before and after cycling test. The results of the preparation study meet the requirements of physical evaluation before the cycling test but after the cycling test is is not in accordance to the requirements for the preparation of the peel-off mask. The antibacterial test of mask peel-off ethanol extract of Kersen's leaves on Staphylococcus epidermidis bacteria produced a moderate inhibition. Penelitian uji antibakteri masker peel-off ekstrak etanol daun Kersen pada bakteri staphylococcus epidermidis menghasilkan daya hambat yang sedang. Dapat disimpulkan pada kosentrasi 20% ekstrak etanol daun Kersen dapat diformulasi sebagai sediaan masker peel-off yang stabil secara fisik dan memiliki aktivitas antibakteri yang sedang .Kata kunci : Kersen, Masker peel-off, Antibakteri, Staphlococcous  epidermidis

ABSTRACT Sesewanua Leaves (Clerodendron squamatum Vahl.) have the potential to be made as skin care cosmetic preparations but must be in the right formulation to achieve the desired effect. The aim of this study was to determine the physical stability of a cream from Sesewanua leaf extract. This study used a experimental method by making ethanol extract of Sesewanua leaves with a concentration of 0.5% and physical stability test. Physical evaluation was carried out before and after cycling test through organoleptic observation, homogenety test, pH test, dispersion test, adhesion test, viscosity test, centrifugation test and cream type determination. The results of the physical evaluation showed that F1 without Sesewanua leaf extract and F2 with Sesewanua leaf extract creams met the requirements of physical stability, so can be concluded that Sesewanua leaf extract can be formulated into cream preparations with concentration of 0.5% which is physically stable before and after cycling test. Keywords: Sesewanua Leaves, Cream, Physical Stability  ABSTRAK Daun Sesewanua (Clerodendron squamatum Vahl.) berpotensi untuk dibuat sebagai sediaan kosmetik perawatan kulit namun harus dengan formulasi yang tepat agar mencapai efek yang diinginkan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui stabilitas fisik sediaan krim ekstrak daun sesewanua. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimental dengan membuat krim ekstrak etanol daun Sesewanua dengan konsentrasi 0,5% dan uji stabilitas fisik. Evaluasi fisik dilakukan sebelum dan sesudah cycling test melalui pengamatan organoleptis, uji homogenitas, uji pH, uji daya sebar, uji daya lekat, uji viskositas, uji sentrifugasi dan penentuan tipe krim. Hasil evaluasi fisik menunjukkan krim F1 tanpa ekstrak daun Sesewanua dan F2 dengan ekstrak daun Sesewanua memenuhi persyaratan stabilitas fisik. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan ekstrak daun sesewanua dapat diformulasi menjadi sediaan krim dengan konsentrasi 0,5% yang stabil secara fisik sebelum dan sesudah cycling test. Kata Kunci : Daun Sesewanua, Krim, Stabilitas Fisik

ABSTRACT                Sesewanua leaves (Cleodendron squamatum Vahl.) contain alkaloids and flavonoids which are efficacious as antioxidants. This study aimed to fomulate, evaluate, and test the effectiveness of antioxidants in the form of peel-off mask of ethanol extract from the Sesewanua leaves. This study used descriptive-analytic method with the treatment of variations in concentrations of  PVA 12 % , 14% and 16 %, respectively. Physical evaluation of preparations included organoleptic observation, homogeneity test, pH test, scattering power test, drying time test, and cycling test, all tests were carried out before and after the cycling test. The results showed that all preparations met the requirements of physical evaluation before the cycling test while after the cycling test only preparations with 12% PVA concentrations met the requirement, whereas preparations with 14% and 16% of PVA did not met the requirement after the cycling test and after testing antioxidant effectiveness using the DPPH (1,1-diphenyl-2-pikrilhidrazil) method were obtained. The value of  IC50  before cycling test was 179.120 mg/L and after cycling test was 504.74mg/L. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that the ethanol extract of Sesewanua leaves can be formulated into a peel-off mask with 12% PVA concentration which is physically stable and has moderate antioxidant effectiveness before the cycling test, while after cycling test the preparation of peel-off mask ethanol extract of Sesewanua leaves is less effective as an antioxidant. Keywords:  Sesewanua leaves (Cleodendron squamatum Vahl.), peel-off mask, antioxidantsABSTRAK               Daun Sesewanua (Cleodendron squamatum Vahl.) mengandung alkaloid dan flavonoid yang berkhasiat sebagai antioksidan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa semua sediaan memenuhi persyaratan evaluasi fisik sebelum uji cycling test sedangkan setelah uji cycling test hanya sediaan dengan  konsentrasi PVA 12% yang memenuhi persyaratan sedangkan sediaan dengan konsentrasi PVA 14% dan 16% tidak memenuhi persyaratan setelah uji cycling test, dan setelah dilakukan uji efektivitas antioksidan dengan metode DPPH (1,1-difenil-2-pikrilhidrazil) diperoleh nilai IC50 sebelum uji cycling test sebesar 179,120 mg/L dan sesudah cycling test sebesar 504,74 mg/L. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa ekstrak etanol daun Sesewanua dapat diformulasi menjadi sediaan masker peel-off dengan konsentrasi PVA 12% yang stabil secara fisik dan memiliki efektivitas antioksidan yang sedang sebelum uji cycling test sedangkan setelah cycling test sediaan masker peel-off ektrak etanol daun sesewanua kurang efektif sebagai antioksidan. Kata Kunci : Sesewanua (Cleodendron squamatum Vahl.), masker peel-off, Antioksidan.

Objective: This study was conducted to determine the IC50 value of zeaxanthin, to know the formula that meets the requirements of the results of physical evaluation of gel preparations, and to know the effectiveness of zeaxanthin gel as an anti-aging on the skin. Methods: The preparation of this gel is made using zeaxanthin as an active substance with concentrations of 5%; 7.5%; and 10%. Tests conducted are organoleptic test, homogeneity test, pH, spreadability, viscosity, irritation test and cycling test. Tests conducted are organoleptic test, homogeneity test, pH, spreadability, viscosity, irritation test and cycling test. Tests on the effectiveness of zeaxanthin gel preparations against the backs of volunteers' hands were divided into 4 groups as well as testing conducted over 28 d. Results: The results showed a value of IC50 zeaxanthin of 9.044 μg/ml, all gel preparations met the requirements of physical evaluation results except in cycling test and test results of the effectiveness of zeaxanthin gel preparations on the backs of volunteer hands there was an increase in humidity with an average increase of 33.17%±11.867 and wrinkles obedience with an average decrease of 47.466%±7.115. Conclusion: Zeaxanthin can be formulated as gel anti-aging.

AbstractMusa paradisiaca Linn, also known as the banana plant in Indonesia, is a herbaceous plant that belongs to the Musaceaa family. Cotton banana peel (Musa paradisiaca Linn.) can be used as a wound medicine. For use, it is still simple, namely by applying the inside of the banana peel to the injured body part, and by scraping the banana peel from the inside to bandage the wound. For this reason, it is necessary to develop a dosage form of this cotton banana peel so that it is easier and provides comfort in its use. Purpose: To find out the skin of cotton banana (Musa paradisiaca Linn) is formulated in cream preparations. The method in this study was experimental, the sample was extracted by maceration using 96% ethanol as solvent. The viscous extract obtained was used at concentrations of 0.08%, 0.10%, and 0.12%. The results showed that cotton banana peel extract (Musa paradisiaca Linn) could be made as a cream and fulfilled the physical evaluation of the preparation. The results of the homogeneity test were that the preparations were made homogeneous, the pH of the cream was obtained at pH 5-7 still fulfilling the skin pH range of 4-7, the adhesion test results obtained more than 5 seconds, the dispersion test results obtained 6-7 cm, the viscosity test at formula I is 3564 – 4253 cPas, Formula II is 4042 – 4746 cPas, Formula III is 4466 – 5254 cPas. The conclusion of this study, the formulation of the ethanol extract cream of cotton banana peel (Musa paradisiaca Linn) met the requirements for physical evaluation of the preparation including homogeneity test, pH test, organoleptic test, dispersibility test, adhesion test, viscosity test and stability test.Keywords: Formulation, banana peel, cream, evaluation. AbstrakMusa paradisiaca Linn atau dikenal dengan nama tumbuhan pisang di Indonesia adalah tumbuhan herba yang termasuk dalam keluarga Musaceaa. Kulit buah pisang kapas (Musa paradisiaca Linn.) dapat digunakan sebagai obat luka. Untuk penggunaan masih sederhana yaitu dengan mengoleskan bagian dalam dari kulit buah pisang pada bagian tubuh yang luka, dan dengan cara mengorek kulit buah pisang dari dalam untuk membalut luka. Untuk itu perlu adanya pengembangan bentuk sediaan dari kulit pisang kapas ini sehingga lebih memudahkan dan memberikan kenyamanan dalam penggunaannya. Tujuan Untuk mengetahui kulit buah pisang kapas (Musa paradisiaca Linn) diformulasikan dalam sediaan krim. Metode pada penelitian ini dilakukan secara eksprimental, sampel di ekstraksi dengan cara maserasi dengan menggunakan pelarut etanol 96%. Ekstrak kental yang diperoleh digunakan pada konsentrasi 0.08%, 0.10%, dan 0.12%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak kulit pisang kapas (Musa paradisiaca Linn) dapat dibuat sebagai krim dan memenuhi evaluasi fisik sediaan. Hasil uji homogenitas bahwa sediaan yang dibuat homogen, pH krim diperoleh pH 5-7 masih memenuhi kisaran pH kulit 4-7, uji daya lekat hasil yang diperoleh lebih dari 5 detik, uji daya sebar hasil yang diperoleh 6 – 7 cm, uji viskositas pada formula I yaitu 3564 – 4253 cPas, Formula II yaitu 4042 – 4746 cPas, Formula III yaitu 4466 – 5254 cPas. Kesimpulan pada penelitian ini, formulasi sediaan krim ekstrak etanol kulit pisang kapas (Musa paradisiaca Linn) memenuhi syarat evaluasi fisik sediaan meliputi uji homogenitas , uji pH, uji organoleptis, uji daya sebar, uji daya lekat, uji viskositas dan uji stabilias.Kata kunci: Formulasi, kulit pisang, krim, evaluasi.

ABSTRACT Celery plants (Apium graveolens L.) and teak plants (Tectona grandis Linn.f) are plants that contain flavonoids, tannins, and saponins and has antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus. This study aims to test the antibacterial effectiveness of combination of celery and teak leaf cream and evaluate cream with parameters of physical tests (organoleptic, homogeneity, pH, spreadability, adhesion) and physical stability with cycling test method. This study used an experimental laboratory method by making 5 variations concentration of extracts. Celery and teak leaf extract was extracted by maceration method. Antibacterial test used the wells method. Results of the evaluation of physical tests for organoleptic test (odor: a typical combination of extracts;color: brown;shape: semi-solid), homogeneity test (homogeneous), average of pH test is 6.02, dispersion test is 4.27 cm, adhesion test is 18.42 seconds. Based on the results of this study, concluded that the combination of celery leaf and teak leaf extract can be formulated into a cream. The cream of combination of celery and teak leafs extract are bacteriostatic and has antibacterial activity with an average diameter for formulation I 13.4 mm, formulation II 9.23 mm, formulation III 16.23 mm, formulation IV 11 mm, and formulation V 12.06 mm. Keywords : Celery (Apium graveolens L.), Teak (Tectona grandis Linn.f), Antibacterial, Cream. ABSTRAK Tanaman seledri (Apium graveolens L.) dan tanaman jati (Tectona grandis Linn.f) merupakan tanaman yang mengandung flavonoid, tanin dan saponin dan memiliki aktivitas antibakteri terhadap Staphylococcus aureus. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji aktivitas antibakteri sediaan krim kombinasi ekstrak daun seledri dan daun jati serta mengevaluasi sediaan krim dengan parameter uji sifat fisik (uji organoleptik, uji homogenitas, uji pH, uji daya sebar, uji daya lekat) dan stabilitas fisik dengan metode cycling test. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimental laboratorium dengan membuat 5 variasi konsentrasi ekstrak. Ekstrak diperoleh dengan cara maserasi. Uji antibakteri dilakukan dengan metode sumuran. Hasil evaluasi sifat fisik untuk uji organoleptik (bau: khas kombinasi ekstrak;warna:coklat;bentuk:setengah padat), uji homogenitas (susunan homogen), rata-rata uji pH 6,02, daya sebar 4,27 cm, daya lekat 18,42 detik. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian disimpulkan bahwa kombinasi ekstrak daun seledri dan daun jati dapat diformulasikan menjadi sediaan krim. Sediaan krim kombinasi ekstrak daun seledri dan daun jati bersifat bakteriostatik dan memiliki aktivitas antibakteri dengan diameter rata-rata untuk formula I 13,4 mm, formula II 9,23 mm, formula III 16,23 mm, formula IV 11 mm, dan formula V 12,06 mm. Kata Kunci : Seledri (Apium graveolens L.), Jati (Tectona grandis Linn.f), Antibakteri, Krim

ABSTRACT Red spinach leaves (Amaranthus tricolor L.) contain  flavonoid  compounds,  saponins  and  tannins which had antioxidant potential. This study aims to test the antioxidant activity of ethanol extracts of Red spinach (Amaranthus tricolor L.) leaves used to be DPPH method and evaluate cream preparations used physical test parameters. This study used a laboratory experimental method. The formulate of cream preparations and variations in the concentration of 0,25%, 0,5%, 0,75 %, 1%, 1,25%. The results obtained before and after the cycling test showed that cream preparations with 0,5% concentration met organoleptic requirements, homogeneity, cream pH 5,29 (4,5-6,5), cream adhesion 16,20 seconds (> 4 seconds ), the spreadability of the cream is 5,37 cm  (5-7 cm) and the antioxidant activity test produced value  2,82 ppm and vitamin C value of 0,22 ppm. It can be concluded that cream preparation of ethanol extract of Red spinach leaves meets physical test parameters, is stable and had very strong antioxidant activity.   Key words : Red spinach  (Amaranthus tricolor L.), Cream, Antioxidants, DPPH (1.1-diphenyl-2- picrylhydrazyl). ABSTRAK Daun Bayam merah (Amaranthus tricolor L.) mengandung senyawa flavonoid, saponin dan tannin yang memiliki potensial antioksidan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji aktivitas antioksidan sediaan krim ekstrak etanol daun Bayam merah (Amaranthus tricolor L.) menggunakan metode DPPH dan mengevaluasi sediaan krim menggunakan parameter uji fisik. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimental laboratorium dan formulasi sediaan krim dibuat dengan variasi konsentrasi 0,25%, 0,5%, 0,75%%, 1%, 1,25%. Hasil penelitian yang didapat sebelum dan sesudah cycling test menunjukkan bahwa sediaan krim konsentrasi 0,5% memenuhi persyaratan organoleptis, homogenitas, pH krim 5,29 (4,5-6,5), daya lekat krim 16,20 detik (>4 detik), daya sebar krim  5,37 cm  (5-7 cm) serta uji aktivitas antioksidan menghasilkan nilai  2,82 ppm dan nilai   vitamin C 0,22 ppm. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa sediaan krim ekstrak etanol daun Bayam merah memenuhi parameter uji fisik, stabil dan memiliki aktivitas  antioksidan yang sangat kuat.  Kata kunci : Bayam merah (Amaranthus tricolor L.), Krim, Antioksidan, DPPH (1.1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl).

ABSTRACT This study aims to test the antibacterial effectiveness of ethanolic extract of Kaliandra leaf cream and evaluate the preparations using parameters of physical properties, physical stability, and sterility. Kaliandra leaf (Calliandra surinamensis) contains compounds such as flavonoid, saponins and tannins that can inhibit the growth of bacteria. This research uses laboratory experimental methods. Cream preparation formula is made with variations in the concentration of ethanol extract of Kaliandra leaves 2%, 3%, 4%, 5%, 6%. Kaliandra leaf extract was obtained by maceration using 96% ethanol solvent. The study of antibacterial test of ethanol extract of Kaliandra leaf extract using the method of Staphylococcus aures produced inhibitory power of 5.09 ± 0.88 mm at a concentration of 6%. The physical evaluation of the cream preparation includes organoleptic examination (odor, color, shape), homogeneity, pH testing, adhesion, dispersion, cycling test. All tests are carried out before and after the cycling test. The results obtained before and after the cycling test showed that the cream preparations met organoleptic requirements, homogeneity, cream pH 6.07 (4.5-6.5), cream adhesion 4.59 seconds (<4 seconds), cream dispersion  6.19 cm (5-7 cm). Cream sterility testing shows that the cream is sterile. It can be concluded that the ethanol extract of Kaliandra leaves cream meets the physical test parameters, is stable and has moderate antibacterial activity. Keywords : Kaliandra Leaf (Calliandra surinamensis), Cream, Antibacterial, Staphylococcous aureus.  ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji efektivitas antibakteri sediaan krim ekstrak etanol daun Kaliandra dan mengevaluasi sediaan dengan menggunakan parameter uji sifat fisik, stabilitas fisik, dan sterilitas. Daun Kaliandra (Calliandra surinamensis) merupakan tanaman yang mengandung senyawa flavonoid, saponin dan tannin yang mampu menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimental laboratorium, Formula sediaan krim dibuat dengan variasi konsentrasi ekstrak etanol daun Kaliandra 2%, 3%, 4%, 5%, 6%. Ekstrak daun Kaliandra diperoleh dengan cara maserasi menggunakan pelarut etanol 96%. Penelitian uji antibakteri sediaan krim esktrak etanol daun Kaliandra menggunakan metode sumuran pada bakteri Staphylococcus aures menghasilkan daya hambat 5,09±0,88 mm pada konsentrasi 6%. Evaluasi fisik sediaan krim meliputi pemeriksaan organoleptis (bau, warna,  bentuk), homogenitas, pengujian pH, daya  lekat,  daya  sebar, uji cycling test. Semua pengujian dilakukan sebelum dan sesudah cycling test. Hasil penelitian yang didapat sebelum dan sesudah cycling test menunjukkan bahwa sediaan krim memenuhi persyaratan organoleptis, homogenitas, pH krim 6,07 (4,5-6,5), daya lekat krim 4,59 detik (<4 detik), daya sebar krim 6,19 cm (5-7 cm). Pengujian sterilitas krim menunjukan bahwa krim steril. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa sediaan krim ekstrak etanol daun Kaliandra memenuhi parameter uji fisik, stabil dan memiliki aktivitas  antibakteri yang sedang. Kata kunci : Daun Kaliandra (Calliandra surinamensis), Krim, Antibakteri, Staphlococcous aureus.

Introduction: The ethanol extract from citronella grass (Cymbopogon nardus) has been found to contain saponins, phenolics (flavonoids), and polyphenols which have antibacterial activity. As a result, researchers developed an antiseptic gel that contains this ethanol extract. Aims: This study aims to find the optimum concentration of gelling agent required to make the gel and to use physical evaluations in order to understand whether combining gelling agents may increase the quality of the gel. Methods: The gel was made using a melting method, which mixed the base of gel with citronella ethanol extract at a temperature of 40oC to form a homogeneous phase. The gel evaluation was conducted using an organoleptic test, homogeneity test, dispersion test, pH test, and adhesion test. Results: The tests were carried out on 15 formulations respectively (R1, R2, and R3), and resulted in the production of clear, translucent yellow gel with a distinctive citronella grass odor. The homogeneity test showed that all formulations were homogeneous and contained no agglomerated particles. The gel dosage forms made with CMC-Na, gum arabic, and gelatin as gelling agents resulted in having a pH of 7 whilst gels made with a combination of gelling agents resulted in having a pH of 8. The combination of gum arabic and CMC-Na gelling agents showed an increase in spreadability of gel formulas at the same concentration of composition, of which the combinations were 1.25% gum arabic and 1.25% CMC-Na. The gel adhesion time was 0.2-2 minutes for all formula. Conclusion: Based on this test data, it can be concluded that the 15 gel formulations that resulted from this research are good and further testing can be performed to determine the most optimum and stable formula.
