Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a chronic disease that causes hyperglycemia thereby increasing glucose levels in the blood. One component of management and care that is essential for people with DM is the regulation of diets that can be provided through educational programs. Education a role in helping sufferers improve metabolic control and change their eating behavior. This study aims to determine the effect of dietary education on diet management behavior in patients with diabetes mellitus in Agrowisata Rumbai Pekanbaru. This research is a quantitative descriptive study with a quasi experimental design with pre and postest without control. The research sample was DM patients with 28 people with consecutive sampling technique. Data collection was done by DM diet management behavior questionnaire. Data were analyzed using dependent T test statistics. The results showed that there was an influence of dietary education education on diet management behavior of DM sufferers (p = 0,000 <0.05). The results showed that education increased the behavior of respondents in managing the diet from an average of 39.29 to 46.36. The results of this study can be input for health services to be able to maintain and improve education in DM patients. Education can improve the skills of sufferers to manage diabetes more effectively by regulating a healthy diet so that people with diabetes are expected to be able to prevent complications that can arise.   Diabetes melitus (DM) merupakan salah satu penyakit kronis yang menyebabkan hiperglikemia sehingga meningkatkan kadar glukosa dalam darah. Salah satu komponen penatalaksanaan dan perawatan yang esensial bagi penderita DM adalah dengan pengaturan diet yang dapat diberikan melalui program edukasi. Edukasi berperan membantu penderita meningkatkan pengendalian metabolisme serta mengubah perilaku makan mereka. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui pengaruh edukasi pengaturan diet terhadap perilaku pengelolaan diet pada penderita diabetes melitus di Kelurahan Agrowisata Kecamatan Rumbai Kota Pekanbaru. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif dengan desain quasi eksperiment pre and post test without control. Sampel penelitian adalah penderita DM berjumlah 28 orang dengan teknik consecutive sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan kuesioner perilaku pengelolaan diet DM. Data dianalisis menggunakan statistik uji T dependen.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ada pengaruh edukasi pengaturan diet terhadap perilaku pengelolaan diet penderita DM (p=0,000 < 0,05). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa edukasi meningkatkan perilaku responden dalam pengelolaan diet dari rata-rata 39,29 menjadi 46,36. Hasil penelitian ini dapat menjadi masukan bagi pelayanan kesehatan untuk dapat mempertahankan dan meningkatkan edukasi pada pasien DM. Edukasi dapat meningkatkan keterampilan penderita mengelola diabetes secara lebih efektif dengan pengaturan diet sehat sehingga diharapkan penderita DM mampu mencegah komplikasi yang dapat muncul.

The problem of elderly diabetes mellitus is complex and various interventions in the form of education have been carried out in controlling blood sugar levels but the results have not been optimal. Based on this, the researcher wants to know the effect of coaching intervention on controlling blood sugar levels of the elderly with diabetes in Indonesia. The quasi-experimental research design uses a treatment group. Sampling with consecutive sampling in which the intervention group was selected according to purpose, with 38 respondents. Independent t-test was used. The results obtained were significant differences in blood sugar levels after being given an intervention. Coaching interventions affect blood sugar levels of the elderly with diabetes. It was concluded that coaching interventions reduce blood sugar levels and provide opportunities for nurses to develop promotive and preventive efforts.  Keywords: blood glucose levels, coaching intervention, elderly

Hypertension occurs due to many factors where it can start from genetics and lifestyle. Hypertension can lead to insulin resistance which is the main cause of increased blood glucose, so that people who suffer from hypertension have the risk of suffering from diabetes mellitus. The purpose of this study is to describe the current blood glucose levels in  patients with hypertension at Puskesmas II Mendoyo. Method this research  uses descriptive quantitative method involving 30 respondents through purposive sampling technique. The research was conducted in March - April 2021. Data collection was carried out by filling out questionnaires and examining blood glukose level with POCT EasyTouch GCU. The results showed that (13.3%) patients with hypertension had blood glucose levels in the non-DM category, (80%) with the uncertain DM category, and (6.7%) in the DM category. The average blood glucose level is 120.7 mg/dl with the lowest level is 84 mg/dl and the highest level up to 273 mg/dl. In conclusion, most patients with hypertension have blood glucose levels during the uncertain DM category.</p><p><strong>Keyword</strong>s: blood glucose levels; hypertension; diabetes melitus</p>

<p><em>Psychological effects on clients of diabetes mellitus can occur anxiety that stimulates the release of ACTH (adrenocorticotropic hormone) from the anterior pituitary gland stimulates the adrenal glands to release the adrenocorticoid hormone, cortisol. Interventions conducted to overcome anxiety with the five-finger hypnosis method. Five-finger hypnosis is a relaxation technique that is a generalist therapy that can have a relaxing and calming effect by recalling. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of applying five-finger hypnosis to decrease anxiety in diabetes mellitus clients. The design of this study was using a Quasi experimental one group pre-post test. The population in this study were 47 clients with diabetes mellitus. The sampling technique was total sampling. Data collection techniques through interviews and observations.Data analysis using Wilcoxon test. The results showed a median value before 15 after intervention 6 with a value of p&gt; 0,000. The conclusion of this study is the difference in the level of anxiety in diabetes mellitus clients after the intervention. It is expected that the results of this study can be used as nursing interventions, so as to improve the quality of nursing services at the puskesmas.</em></p><p><em> </em></p><p><em>Dampak psikis pada klien diabetes melitus dapat terjadi cemas jika tidak dilakukan intervensi untuk mengatasi cemas. Intervensi yang dilakukan untuk mengatasi cemas dengan metode hipnosis lima jari. Hipnosis lima jari merupakan suatu teknik relaksasi yang merupakan terapi generalis yang dapat menimbulkan efek relaksasi dan menenangkan dengan cara mengingat kembali. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan hipnosis lima jari untuk penurunan kecemasan pada klien diabetes melitus. Desain penelitian ini menggunakan Quasi experimental pre-post test one group. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah 47 klien dengan diabetes melitus.Teknik pengambilan sampel secara total sampling sehingga didapat jumlah sampel 47 responden. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara dan observasi. Analisa data dengan penggunakan uji wilcoxon. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai median sebelum 15 setelah intervensi 6 dengan nilai p &gt; 0.000ada pengaruh sesudah intervensihipnosis lima jari  pada tingkat cemas pada klien diabetes mellitus</em>.<em> Kesimpulan penelitian ini </em><em>adanya perbedaan tingkat cemas pada klien diabetes melitus sesudah intervensi. Diabetes Mellitus adalah suatu kondisi kronis yang terjadi ketika tubuh tidak dapat menghasilkan cukup insulin atau tidak dapat menggunakan insulin, dan didiagnosis dengan mengamati peningkatan kadar glukosa dalam darah.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk untuk mengetahui  hubungan  antara  tingkat pengetahuan dengan gaya hidup pada penderita diabetes mellitus yang berobat di puskesmas meome. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif menggunakan desain deskriptif korelasi dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Jumlah  populasi sebanyak 47 orang.  Sampel dalam penelitian ini diambil dengan menggunakan teknik total sampling. Analisis data  menggunakan uji Chi-square.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada Hubungan  Antara  Tingkat   Pengetahuan  Diabetes  Melitus dengan Gaya Hidup Penderita Diabetes Melitus yang Berobat di Puskesmas Meomeo.Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah tingkat pengetahuan penderita diabetes melitus sebagian besar  adalah kurang, sedangkan gaya hidup pada penderita diabetes melitus sebagian  besar  adalah  tidak sehat, dan terdapat  hubungan antara tingkat pengetahuan dengan gaya hidup  pada   penderita   diabetes   mellitus. This study aims to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge with living style in people  with  diabetes mellitus who seek treatment at the health clinic in Meomeo. This type of research is quantitative using a descriptive correlation design with cross sectional approach. Total population of  47 people. The sample in this study was taken using total sampling technique. Data analysis used Chi-square test. The results of the research showed that means there is a relationship between the level of knowledge of diabetes mellitus with the lifestyle of patients with diabetes mellitus who seek treatment at the Meomeo health center. The conclusion of this study is that the level of knowledge of people with diabetes mellitus is largely lacking, while the lifestyle of people with diabetes mellitus is largely unhealthy, and there is a relationship between the level of knowledge and lifestyle in people with diabetes mellitus. Penyakit Diabetes Melitus dapat menyebabkan komplikasi yang sangat berat. Komplikasi dari Diabetes Melitus ini meliputi jantung iskemik, serebrovaskuler, gagal ginjal, ulkus pada kaki, gangguan penglihatan. Komplikasi yang paling sering terjadi adanya perubahan patologis pada anggota gerak bawah yang disebut kaki diabetik. Salah satu jenis olahraga yang dianjurkan dengan diabetes mellitus adalah senam kaki. Senam kaki merupakan latihan yang dilakukan bagi penderita DM atau bukan penderita untuk mencegah terjadinya luka dan membantu melancarkan peredaran darah bagian kaki. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh senam kaki terhadap kadar gula darah pasien diabetes mellitus. Desain dalam penelitian ini adalah Quasy Eksperiment dengan rancangan Pre and Post Test Without Control. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan Consecutive sampling. Alat pengumpul data yang digunakan instrument observasi senam kaki untuk menilai senam kaki, dan alat menilai kadar gula darah yaitu glucometer, kapas dan jarum. Rata-rata kadar gula darah sebelum dan setelah dilakukan senam kaki mengalami penurunan dan ada pengaruh kadar gula darah sebelum dengan sesudah dilakukan senam kaki pada pasien diabetes melitusKata Kunci: Senam Kaki, Kadar Gula Darah THE EFFECT OF GYMNASTIC FEET TOWARD THE BLOOD SUGAR LEVEL FOR THE DIABETICSDiabetes Mellitus causes the complication case. It concludes the heart iskemik, serebrovaskuler, cronic kidney disease, ulcus on the feet, and the impairment of sight. The complication often causes the changing of pathological in certain place such as feet. The one of recommended sport for diabetics is gymnastic feet. Gymnastic feet is an experience for diabetics or not in order to prevent the wound and launch the blood circulation. The research objective is to analyze the effect of gymnastic feet to blood sugar level for diabetics. The research design is using experiment quasy with pre and post test without control. It is using consecutive sampling as the sample of collecting technique, and using observation of gymnastic feet as the collecting data technique to assess the blood sugar level, those are glucometer, cotton, and needle. The average of blood sugar level is decrease after doing the gymnastic feet. Abstract: Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a group of metabolic diseases with characteristic hyperglycemia that occurs due to insulin secretion, insulin action or both. This disease affects many societies and continuously growing in Indonesia. Periodontal disease is an oral health problem which has a relatively high prevalence in the community where periodontal disease in all age groups in Indonesia.The purpose of this study was to determine the periodontal disease in patients with diabetesmellitus in RSUP Prof. dr. R. D. Kandou Manado. This descriptive study has 68 sample taken with total sampling technique. The sample is examined using evaluation criteria gingival index and CPITN index. The result show that subjects with periodontitis with a score of 4 is the highest as many as 18 people (44%) and subject with a score of 2 is that at least as many as 8 people (19.5%). And subjects with bad gingivitis is the highest as many as 10 people (52.6%) and subject with the good gingivitis is the at least as many as 5 people (26.3%). Based on the result of this study, periodontal disease in patients with diabetes mellitus in RSUP Prof. Dr. R. D. Kandou most that periodontitis with the number of 41 people (68.3%) compared to gingivitis which is just as many as 19 people (31.7%)Keywords: diabetes mellitus, periodontitis, gingivitis, periodontalAbstrak:Diabetes Melitus (DM) merupakan suatu kelompok penyakit metabolik dengan karakteristik hiperglikemia yang terjadi karena sekresi insulin, kerja insulin atau kedua-duanya. Penyakit periodontal merupakan masalah kesehatan gigi dan mulut yang memiliki prevalensi cukup tinggi di masyarakat dimana penyakit periodontal pada semua kelompok umur di Indonesia.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui penyakit periodontal pada penderita diabetes mellitus di RSUP Prof. dr. R. D. Kandou Manado. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif dengan jumlah sampel 60 orang yang diambil dengan teknik total sampling. Sampel diperiksa dengan menggunakan kriteria penilaian indeks gingiva dan indeks CPITN. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa yang mengalami periodontitis dengan skor 4 adalah yang paling tinggi yaitu sebanyak 18 orang (44%), dan subjek yang mengalami skor 2 adalah yang yang paling sedikit yaitu sebanyak 8 orang (19.5%). Sedangkan yang mengalami gingivitis yang paling tinggi yaitu gingivitis buruk sebanyak 10 orang (52.6%) dan yang paling sedikit adalah yang mengalami gingivitis ringan yaitu sebanyak 5 orang (26.3%). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa penyakit periodontal yang paling banyak ditemui pada penderita diabetes melitus di RSUP Prof. Dr. R. D. Kandou Manado adalah penyakit periodontitis yaitu sebanyak 41 orang (68.3%) dan yang paling sedikit adalah gingivitis yaitu sebanyak 19 orang (31.7%)Kata kunci: diabetes melitus, periodontitis, gingivitis, periodontal

Diabetes mellitus is a disorder of the endocrine system characterized by increased levels of glucose in the blood. The purpose of this study was to assess the effect of Buerger's Allen exercise on the value of the ankle brachial index (ABI) in patients with diabetes mellitus. The research design was a quasi-experimental pretest and posttest without a control. The study was conducted from March to May 2021 at Grandmed Lubuk Pakam Hospital with 48 respondents, with consecutive sampling technique. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon test. The Buergers Allen exercise intervention was performed twice a day, for three weeks. The procedure is performed by lifting the lower extremities up at an angle of 45-90 degrees for 2-3 minutes, then the patient sits at the bedside with the legs hanging down, accompanied by flexion, extension, pronation and supination movements for 5-10 minutes, and the patient lies down. with both feet resting for 10 minutes. There was a significant effect between the mean ABI value before intervention 0.83 and after intervention 0.95, p=0.00. The difference in mean ABI p=0.000, p<0.05. The results of the study concluded that there was an effect of buerger allen exercise on the ABI value before and after the intervention where the ABI value was getting better. It is recommended for nurses to make Buergers Allen exercise one of the independent nursing interventions in providing nursing care to patients with diabetes mellitus.

ABSTRAK Diabetes Melitus merupakan penyakit yang paling menonjol yang disebabkan oleh gagalnya pengaturan gula darah. Lidah buaya berkhasiat untuk menurunkan kadar gula dalam darah bagi penderita diabetes dan dapat mengontrol tekanan darah. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui pengaruh jus lidah buaya (AloeBarbadensis Miller) terhadap penurunan glukosa darah puasa GDP) dan 2 Jam PP (Post Prendial) pada penderita DM (Diabetes Melitus). Desain penelitian merupakan Quasi Eksperimental dengan pendekatan one group pretest – postest design. Sampel terbagi menjadi 14 responden. Data dianalisis dengan paired t-test. Hasil menunjukan rata-rata penurunan glukosa darah puasa pada intervensi (28,42 gr/dl) dan glukosa darah 2 jam pp pada intervensi (40,57 gr/dl). Untuk analisis bivariat terdapat perbedaan antara glukosa puasa dan 2 jam pp dengan glukosa darah puasa GDP) dan 2 Jam PP (Post Prendial) pada penderita DM (Diabetes Melitus). Kesimpulan didapatkanlidah buaya dapat menurunkan kadar glukosa darah.Berdasarkan hasil penelitian jus lidah buaya dapat menjadi salah satu alternatif keperawatan non farmakologi dalam penyakit diabetes melitus. Kata Kunci : Lidah Buaya ; Diabetes Mellitus THE EFFECT OF VEGETABLE VOCATIONAL JUICE ON FAST BLOOD GLUCOSE LEVELS AND 2 HOURS OF PP (Post Prandial) IN DIABETES MELLITUS  ABSTRACT Diabetes mellitus is the most prominent disease caused by the failure of blood sugar regulation. Aloe vera is efficacious can to  reduce blood sugar levels for diabetics and can control blood pressure. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Aloe Barbadensis Miller on the reduction of fasting blood glucose GDP and 2 hours of PP (post prendial) in patients with diabetes mellitus. The research design is Experimental Quasi with one group pretest - postest design approach. The sample is divided into 14 respondents. Data were analyzed by paired t-test. The results showed an average decrease in fasting blood glucose at intervention (28.42 gr / dl) and 2 hours pp blood glucose at intervention (40.57 gr / dl). For bivariate analysis there was a difference between fasting glucose and 2 hours pp with fasting blood glucose GDP) and 2 hours PP (Post Prendial) in patients with diabetes mellitus. The conclusion is that aloe vera can reduce blood glucose levels. Based on the results of research on aloe vera juice can be an alternative non-pharmacological nursing in diabetes mellitus. Keywords: Aloe Vera ; Diabetes Mellitus

Diet is one of the main factors related to various diseases including Diabetes Mellitus (DM). High carbohydrate, fat, protein, and low fiber diets can increase the risk of type 2 DM occurrence, especially in the patient’s family as a risk group. Previous research on students with DM families in Central Java still had a high-calorie food consumption pattern. The diversity of population, culture, and age may affect the results. Therefore, this study aimed to describe the diet in the family of patients with type 2 DM in the working area of Puskemas (Community Health Center) Garuda Bandung.This research used a quantitative descriptive method by purposive sampling technique. The respondents in this study involved 46 people who were the children of type 2 DM patients in the working area of Puskesmas Garuda. Dietary data obtained from the food record sheet for 3 days and was calculated using Nutrisurvey software in kilocalories (kcal) as the unit of measurement then the results were categorized based on Consensus Perkeni 2015. Data analysis was using frequency distribution.The results showed that 39 (84.8%) respondents in the diet category less than body requirements, 37 (80.4%) respondents in the category of sufficient carbohydrate intake, 39 (84.6%) respondents in the category of excess fat intake, 45 (97.8%) respondents in the category of adequate protein intake, and 41 (89.1%) respondents in the category of less fiber.The conclusions from this study that almost all families of patients with type 2 DM in the work area of Puskesmas Garuda were in the diet category less than body requirement but with the excess fat intake and less fiber. Based on these results, the nurses in Puskesmas are expected to optimize the outreach programs by addressing families of DM patients to make the diet as an attempt to prevent the risk in the family of patients with type 2 DM.Key words: Diet, DM patients’ families, food record. Gambaran Diet pada Keluarga Pasien Diabetes Melitus Tipe 2AbstrakDiet adalah salah satu faktor utama yang berhubungan dengan berbagai penyakit termasuk Diabetes Melitus (DM). Analisis data menggunakan distribusi frekuensi.Hasil penelitian menujukkan bahwa sebanyak 39 (84,8%) responden dalam kategori diet kurang dari kebutuhan, sebanyak 37 (80,4%) responden dalam kategori asupan karbohidrat cukup, sebanyak 39 (84,6%) responden dalam kategori asupan lemak berlebih, sebanyak 45 (97,8%) responden dalam kategori asupan protein cukup, dan 41 (89,1%) responden dalam kategori serat kurang.Simpulan dari penelitian ini bahwa hampir seluruh keluarga pasien DM tipe 2 di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Garuda berada pada kategori diet kurang dari kebutuhan tetapi dengan asupan lemak berlebih dan serat yang kurang. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, maka perawat puskesmas diharapkan dapat mengoptimalkan program luar gedung dengan menyasar keluarga penderita DM untuk menjadikan diet sebagai upaya untuk mencegah risiko DM pada keluarga pasien DM tipe 2.Kata kunci : Diet, food record, keluarga pasien DM.

ABSTRACTDiabetes mellitus (DM) is chronic disease characterized by blood glucose level high than normal. When one of family member suffers from illness, it will affect family condition in managing treatment and caring.This study aimed to identify family burden of patients with Type II DM in Puskesmas III of North Denpasar including objective, subjective, and iatrogenic burden. This study employed descriptive design with cross sectional approach. The study involved 102 respondents with consecutive sampling. Data were collected by questionnaire. Findings indicated that objective burden of family with mild, moderate, and heavy burden were 24.5%, 8.8% and  66.7%; respectively). Subjective burden indicating mild, moderate, and heavy burden were 6.9%, 70.6% and 22.5% respectively. Iatrogenic burden indicating mild, moderate, and heavy burden were 8.8%,  1% and 90.2% respectively. All families experienced heavy burden in caring for patients with DM because of difficulty in treatment.  Keywords: Objective Burden, Subjective Burden, Iatrogenic Burden, Diabetes Mellitus
