In this article, we have considered the complex problem of developing and realizing the potential of young people in the light of the challenges that arise in the modern world. Young people are a vulnerable social group for whom state and local support is essential. Problems in employment can shake the incentive for young people to develop their potential. We investigated the impact of educational and social space on the development of one of the components of youth potential - potential in event management. We emphasized that the development of this component can be a good impetus for intensifying the entrepreneurial activity of young people. However, youth employment and entrepreneurship in event management need care from the state and intensification of informal social control mechanisms. We have formed recommendations that will allow integrating the processes of social development and development of youth potential in event management. This work can be helpful for public authorities, educational institutions and public organizations.

Tighter competition of any economic entities leads to the use of such a mechanism to combat it as economic convergence — the rapprochement of the activities of various economic entities, aimed at increasing the efficiency and competitiveness of its participants. At the same time, the most important modern trend in social development is digitalization, which also has an impact on convergence processes in the economy. Disclosure of the impact of digitalization on convergence processes includes consideration of the stages of development of digitalization, levels of convergence, their relationship, as well as identifying the directions and results of the impact of the last stage of digitalization on modern economic convergence. In the new economic reality and global transformations, new scenarios of professions and jobs that are not taught anywhere are emerging. In the modern world, knowledge as well as some professions become obsolete very quickly. In this situation, the so-called "soft skills" such as the ability of problem solving with the comprehensive approach, critical thinking, initiative and creativity come to the fore. They are these skills that remain with a person for the rest of their life and help them retrain, find themselves in new professions, adapt to changing living conditions. In our opinion, these skills are formed successfully, when scientific researches in the course of training are conducted, various projects that form entrepreneurial skills are developed. The introduction of a research component and project-based training into educational programs will help those who are looking for a new job now, in the crisis, or in the future. Automation of production processes and robotization go on continuously and increase the role of people, forcing them to compete in creativity and mastering new skills. At the same time, it is important to understand that the formation of skills, and in particular soft skills, is a long process. Therefore, in this study, special attention is paid to the consistency and continuity of training programs for young entrepreneurs, starting from the age of 12. A systematic approach, the interrelated modules and the gradual deepening of knowledge will allow to form a professional with an entrepreneurial mindset. The directions of formation of key entrepreneurial skills are considered (formation and development of interest among young people in entrepreneurial activity; formation of basic skills aimed at creating their own entrepreneurial project; formation and development of entrepreneurial competencies among young people on the basis of an individual educational training; involvement of young people in entrepreneurial activity). The necessary conditions and obstacles to the implementation of the suggested system are justified.

Adapted physical activity is part of physical activity in the modern world. It is therefore necessary to pay special attention to the physical condition of young people with disabilities and to increase the possibilities for the prevention and correction of already existing anomalies. This can be successfully accomplished through sport and in particular through the means of basketball. The subject of the study is basketball for people with intellectual disabilities. The object of the study are the signs of the specific preparedness of people with disabilities and the impact on them through the means of adapted basketball. The purpose of the experiment is to determine the impact of adapted basketball on people with mental disabilities. The attached experiment shows that one school year is not enough to cause significant positive changes in the level of traits studied in young people with intellectual disabilities.

For several years in the social space, we have been observing the interpenetration of various phenomena in the government–family–child relationship. There has been a significant decline in the impact of traditional socialization centers on alternative entities. The circumstances described in the text make it possible to understand different contexts of contemporary transformations in the perception of parenthood, the family and its relations with the government. In the text I analyze a map of the problems of the modern family, which is still particularly important for the child’s social development and shaping his/her attitudes and behaviour.

Children and Virtual Reality — Some dilemas of EducationPossible responses to the extremely complex and delicate question of the influence that <virtual reality> exercises on the development of a child as a unique personality, on the child's psycho-social development and on the education of a child generally may be provided by serious research of a cohort sequential design, either in research programmes in the field of educational sciences or of other social disciplines. The present paper confronts some dilemmas of the modern world. Particularly those between the <traditional> educational values, <obsolete> families and schools and <progressive> education supplied (imposed) by virtual reality that promotes the social standardization of behaviour and the perception of values and of the world around us. The aggressiveness of the mass media in presenting <virtual reality> as <progressive> and without an <alternative> often results in a virtual life for a child, with virtual friends, education and even virtual families. In the time of developing technology, an important question arises: how to deal with such a situation. Do we direct young people to carefully select from what modern virtual reality has to offer and how do we do that?

In the modern world almost all young people use smartphones and now most of the time using mobile phones belongs to additional functions. Regrettably, consequences for the musculokeletal system are not considered. It is a known fact that long-term use of the gadgets causes excessive cervical spine bending, improper posture and the formation of muscular-tonic syndrome accompanied by the pain and discomfort that is so-called “Text neck” syndrome. The aim of the research was to study the impact of using gadgets on the formation pain syndrome in the neck and shoulders, as well as headache. The research involved 90 respondents, 60 female and 30 males, the age of the participants was in a range from 18 to 28 years old. Using a self-created questionnaire, applying in Google docs, Text neck symptoms such as headache, pain/discomfort in the neck and shoulder, as well as awareness of this phenomenon have been evaluated. The study has shown the primary role of the shoulder pain/discomfort among respondents, thus 59 (66%) of the participants suffer from shoulder pain/discomfort in different degrees with the gender distribution as follows: 46 women (76%) and 13 men (43%). Headache was noted by 56% of the participants and 50% suffer from neck pain/discomfort. The average phone usage time was 5.3 hours. Only one third (32%) of respondents associated their symptoms with the use of gadgets, so the study has demonstrated low awareness about this syndrome among students. Young people do not realize devastating impact of the gadgets on the health condition, in particular musculoskeletal system. Thus, the authors believe that an integrated approach is needed on the part of the family, educational establishments and health care with a view to build awareness in young people and prevent Text neck formation. Seems like a reasonable implementation of the course on the possible impact of excessive gadgets use on the health condition of the students at higher education institutions.

This article explores the prospects of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on young people in Russia and abroad. Particular attention is paid to the phenomenon that modern researchers refer to as “coronavirus ageism”. This study shows that in the age of the pandemic, the young age becomes a natural resource that significantly increases the chances of adapting to the social transformations caused by the pandemic. The author’s sociological research of adaptation strategies and social practices of the post-Soviet youth in the age of the pandemic shows that digital acumen helps to overcome the negative consequences of the coronavirus crisis. The mediation role of the first digital generations in the modern world — Millennials and Generation Z — is important in transferring IT knowledge and skills to older generations. Thus, the intensity of intergenerational contacts can be considered as one of the key factors positively influencing the digital literacy of older generations. This fact provides an opportunity to look differently at the familiar problem of the generational gap. However, there are deprived young people for whom the prospects of succeeding in life in the age of the new coronavirus pandemic are slim. Many young people living in the world’s poorest countries (or regions) have limited access to digital technologies and education. Some young people are cut off from quality health services, which poses a threat not only to their health but also to their lives. Some young people are faced with the hardships of unemployment, suffer from violence, cannot cope with negative emotions and loneliness, have experienced the death of loved ones or friends, etc.

The article is devoted to the influence of inclusive and boarding institutions on the formation of social competence of young people with disorders. The issue of inclusive education in Ukraine is topical and requires attention of the state and society. The analysis of the results of an online survey of pedagogues on inclusion issues in Ukraine is provided; surveys, observation, and semi-structured interviews with young people with disabilities who were learned in conceptually different conditions are reviewed. The article is focused on the need to evaluate the special and inclusive learning conditions and their influence on the formation of social competence of youth with disabilities. The factors that impede the successful development of the inclusive education system in Ukraine are identified and analyzed. It is proved that inclusion is necessary for children with special needs as the alternative to boarding institutions and it is illustrated the real ways of inclusive education implementation into general educational process. The experimental research consisted of two parts: a research among young people with disabilities and among pedagogues-practitioners. This was dictated by the need to clarify an objective picture of the development of inclusion in Ukraine and to determine the impact of national education systems on the social development of people with disabilities. The assumptions were verified using the nonparametric method of mathematical statistics of χ²-Pearson's criterion of consent to compare the empirical distribution of features with the theoretical one, which would allow estimating the statistical significance of these differences.

The article defines terms on mental health and emotional well-being of adolescents and adolescents, and outlines major trends in mental health and emotional well-being of young people over the past decades. The aim of the article is to highlight and establish the importance of emotional and subjective well-being in adolescence and youth, to identify their further influence on the formation of the personality and its full life. Adolescence is seen as a critical period of development with long-term effects on the health and well-being of the individual. It is stated that the central factor in the health and well-being of adolescents is the interaction of young people with their environment, with people and attitudes in their daily lives. The most important determinants of adolescents' health are in their environment, as well as the choices and opportunities for improving the health or adverse behaviors of today's society. Factors that influence on the subjective and emotional well-being (sleep deprivation, increased stress, social relationships, the impact of violence) have been taken into account. The components and characteristics that support emotional and subjective well-being are identified, such as: self-esteem, motivation, stability, self-efficacy, hope and optimism, while high levels of anxiety, depression and stress can interfere with emotional health and well-being. In determining the factors that affect the emotional and subjective well-being of adolescents and youths, it is important to take into account the multidimensional nature of well-being and what sources and factors form it. The main sources affecting the sense of self and overall well-being of a person in adolescence and youth are family, community, peers, school environment and teachers. The modern world and the environment of human development are constantly changing, which has a significant impact on the well-being of the individual and its further development. Such changes are important elements for the continued successful interaction of adolescents and young people and their integration in society.
