Positive social change is part of Walden University’s mission. As such, the institution sponsored the Social Change Impact Report, which includes data from three online surveys that investigated participants’ experiences with social change because factors related to involvement in social action to improve the lives of individuals and communities are not fully known. Data were collected from the Social Change Impact Report to examine the relationship between the level of education an individual has achieved and how they rate the importance of and the involvement in positive social change activities. Results of chi square and analysis of variance indicated significant relationships between variables and an apparent upward trend in perceptions of and self-reported involvement in social change activities as level of education increases.

Open defecation behavior is a problem for developing countries including Indonesia. This can cause a dirty environment and a source of transmission of diseases such as diarrhea and other infectious diseases. So there needs to be research that analyzes the risk factors for these behaviors. This study aims to analyze the relationship of knowledge and education level to defecation behavior in all areas. A total of 110 family heads were examined and selected using the proportional random sampling technique. The statistical analysis used is Chi Square. The results of the analysis found that there was a relationship between the level of education (value 0.041; OR = 2.576; 95% CI = 1.118-5,934) and knowledge (pvalue 0.001 OR = 4,000; 95% CI = 1.794-8,920) towards open defecation behavior. There needs to be an effort from various parties to be able to increase knowledge through periodic education and the use of health promotion media that can be accessed anytime and anywhere.

ABSTRACT Nurses in meeting spiritual service needs in patients are influenced by one of the factors namely spiritual intelligence. The purpose of the study was to determine the relationship between characteristics and nurse's spiritual intelligence by fulfilling the inpatient spiritual service needs in Banten Hospital in 2019. The study was conducted in Banten General Hospital in July-August 2019. This research was quantitative with a cross-sectional design by using a questionnaire as a primary data and using Chi-square test as the data analysis. The sample used all nurses in population with total sampling to 71 nurses. The results showed that respondents who fulfilled the needs of spiritual services were not as good as 37 respondents (52.1%). Bivariate results showed variables related to meeting spiritual service needs, namely the level of education (p value = 0.039), length of work (p value =0.042), and nurse spiritual intelligence (p value =0.022). Based on the results of this study it is suggested that there is a need for assistance or special mentors conducted by senior nurses to junior nurses (length of work ≤ 4 years). Because the results of this research prove that nurses who have a new length of work who have the opportunity to meet the needs of spiritual services are not good for patients. Keywords : Nurses, Spiritual Intelligence, Spiritual Service Needs.

The authors investigated the effects of perspective taking on opinions about reparations for victims of historical harm. In two studies, they showed that when non-Indigenous Australians took an Indigenous Australian perspective, this increased perceived entitlement to, and decreased anger toward, monetary compensation. Moreover, perceived entitlement mediated the relationship between anger about monetary compensation and perspective taking. Study 2 demonstrated the mutual influence of emotions and perceived entitlement. In particular, self-image shame rather than group-based guilt or anger predicted support for reparation when an Indigenous Australian perspective was adopted. The results suggest that taking the perspective of people who have experienced harm from one’s own group can bolster a commitment to positive social change in relation to a pressing social issue.

It is argued that a number of discontinuities occur when psychology is practised in an environment different from that out of which it emerged – when it moves from the First World into the Third. In the words of Achebe ‘Things fall apart.’ These dislocations stem from the frequent failure to articulate the relationship between individual and social change. Two causes for this failure are explored: the absence of constructs in most models of psychology for dealing with the process of change, and difficulties in defining the construct of culture. An adequate psychological theory of behaviour in the context of social change must explicate the relationship between the individual and society in terms of social action. A theoretical framework that specifies this relationship, and which provides a context for understanding behaviour in the context of rapid social change is proposed. It is based on a conception of humans as self-reflexive beings and a definition of culture as a set of control mechanisms. It also draws on the advances made by the Soviet socio-historical school of psychology. The analysis is concluded with an interpretation of Achebe's novel, based upon the proposed theoretical framework.

This study examines the impact of climate change on hydrologic resources of selected rivers and lakes in the Sudano- Sahelian Ecological Zone of Nigeria. Climatologically data acquired were rainfall, temperature and evaporation from Nigeria Meteorological Agency, Oshodi, Lagos. Similarly, the hydrological data of river discharge and lake levels were obtained from Nigeria Hydrological Services, Kaduna. We used the Standardised Anomaly Index to test for fluctuations in rainfall, temperature, runoff and water level in lakes. Mann Kendall statistics were used to examine the trends in the climate variables. Pearman correlation was adopted to test the relationship between runoff and the rainfall variables. The findings revealed a general downward trend in rainfall amounts in the 1970s and 1980s. The findings also detected an upward trend in the amount of rainfall from 1990 to 2019. The correlation results of rainfall attributes and runoff showed significant relationships in annual rainfall (r= 0.61), annual rain-days (r=0.61), rain days of heavy rainfall (r= 0.57) and wet season rainfall (r=0.54). These attributed when combined, revealed a 51% contribution to the overall regression with (r=0.51) at 95% probability level. The study concluded that the Sudano-Sahelian Ecological Zone of Nigeria experiencing an increase in the annual rainfall. The increase in rainfall point to the recovery of the rainfall from the great Sahelian drought of the 1970s and 1980s. The rise in the annual rainfall is a possible influencing factor to the frequent occurrences of flooding in recent time across the ecological zone.

ICT use during adolescence is now commonplace. Its power of attraction and the vulnerable condition of adolescents are giving rise to growing concern, aggravated by the imminent consequences of such synergy. In order to deepen understanding of this relationship, the following research objectives were formulated: a) Analyze the frequency of ICT use; b) Examine family supervision; c) Identify stress associated with the use of ICTs; d) Establish profiles of ICT use. The sample consisted of 1,101 adolescents of 10 educational centers in Southeastern Spain. A descriptive analysis was performed and contingency tables, Chi Square, Cramer V, hierarchical cluster analysis and one-factor ANOVA were used. The results show that more than 60% of adolescents use ICTs without supervision and that 1 out of 3 feel stressed in the absence of the Internet. In addition, statistically significant relationships were found between the frequency of ICT use and stress, as well as with family supervision. A solution of three groups or profiles of use was obtained. 45% of the subjects display maladaptive use or signs of it. The study concludes by stressing that the relationship between adolescents and ICTs is far from ideal and warns of the urgent need to train adolescents and parents in the responsible use of ICTs.

The evaluation of IUD contraceptive services is still lack of quality until now. Many IUD acceptors choose to stop use contraception because they don't accept side effects such as bleeding, and fear of interfering with sexual intercourse. Adequate information from professional health personnel, in the form of counseling, is a very important step in helping women choose the best contraceptive method and according to their needs. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between education level and work period of midwives to the knowledge of midwives about IUD counseling. The research method uses a quantitative approach with a crossectional design. The number of respondents was 124 midwives Public Health Center in Bandung. The sampling technique uses consecutive sampling. Measurement of IUD counseling knowledge using a questionnaire that has been tested for validity and reliability using the Rasch Model with alpha chron-bach 0.87 (Good). Data were analyzed using SPSS 20 chi-square. The results of the study found that almost all of the 96% of respondents were lack of knowledge about counseling IUDs. The chi-square analysis results did not have a significant relationship between the level of education and knowledge of IUD counseling p = 0.548 (> 0.05). There is no significant relationship between the period of work with knowledge of IUD counseling p = 0.081 (> 0.05). Communication and counseling have been included in the Midwifery Diploma III education curriculum, but the level of education does not have a significant relationship to the knowledge of midwives about IUD counseling. This shows that the learning process in educational institutions has not been able to produce midwives who have knowledge of IUD counseling as expected.
