Abstract Cempaka or Magnolia spp. is categorised into primary local wood mostly used by the people in North Sulawesi. Efforts to cultivate cempaka and supply of raw materials continue to be carried out. However, there is no measurement of consumption of cempaka wood at the industrial and household levels. This will threaten the existence of cempaka or cempaka cultivation is not attractive to the Minahasa community. The objective of this study was to obtain the information of consumption ratio of cempaka wood in North Sulawesi in household scale. This study was carried out for approximately eight months in Minahasa, South Minahasa, and North Minahasa. There are 13 industries of cempaka wood in household scale, and 99 respondents are gathered successfully. The study findings indicated that cempaka wood products identified were not only wooden houses construction but also furniture. Average consumption of cempaka wood products in North Sulawesi reached 0.17 m3/capita/annual. If the total population of North Sulawesi reached 2,5 million, the total consumption of cempaka timber was estimated to reach 435,000 m3 annually. With enormous demands for cempaka wood in North Sulawesi compared to its inefficient availability, it is recommended to promote more intensive cempaka plantation development in the region.

Biodiversitas 21: 457-464. Data on consumption of wood products at the end-user level does not yet exist. This is caused by variations in the shape of wood products and raw materials used. Meanwhile, information on the level of consumption per capita is needed to measure sustainability consumption at the household level, determine the volume of wood production and carbon storage in wood products in the household. The novelty of this study is in method for measure wood product consumption. The aim of this study was to estimate the level of wood consumption at the household level in the form of use for construction and furniture. The method used was a survey of wood products at the industrial level and to make a database and then confirmed to households to determine the level of consumption. The results showed that wood products in the household are divided into 2 main parts namely construction and furniture. The level of wood consumption varied greatly depending on the type of roof, the number of doors and windows and the amount of furniture used. The level of consumption in Bogor reached 0.1 m3 per capita. This consumption was influenced by the time of use and the size of family.

This study aimed to analyze the business of “Cap Tikus” in Poopo Village, District of Eastern Passi of Bolaang Mongondow Regency. This study was conducted over two months, from February to March 2016. The population of “cap tikus” farmers in Poopo village many as 44 people. Of the total population taken samples as many as 24 people (54%) by using purposive sampling method. The data used in this study are primary data and secondary data. Primary data was obtained by conducting a live interview on farmers by using a list of questions that had been prepared. Secondary data were obtained from the agencies involved in this study of The data analysis used in this study is bussiness income analysis. These results indicate that the production process of “cap tikus” in Poopo Village District of Eastern Passi performed by farmers themselves from the preliminary stage to the manufacturing stage. Raw materials of sugar palm (nira or saguer), firewood and bamboo are materials owned by the farmers themselves (not bought). Business of “cap tikus” is very helpful to the people in the Poopo Village because of this effort farmers can build houses, send children to school, and can meet the needs of daily consumption. Therefore, this business of “cap tikus” is used as the principal livelihood by the people in the Poopo Village District of Eastern Passi of Bolaang Mongondow Regency. *er*

Utilization  of non-wood products for woven crafts isone of the pottentials in Pangkalan Buton Village, Sukadana Subdistrict, North Kayong Regency and becomes a raw material in making woven crafts. The research aims to obtain types of non-wood forest products for woven handicrafts and to describe the types of woven handicraft products by the people of Pangkalan Buton Village, Sukadana District. Research using descriptive qualitative methods. Data Collection is done by intetview, observation, and documentation. The results showed that there are 6 types of plants that are used by the community for woven crafts, namely bamboo rope (Gigantochloa apus), coconut (Cocos nucifera), nipah (Nypa fruticans), pandanus thorn (Pandanus tectoris) recam (Distranopteris linearis) and rattan candles (Calamus javensis). These types of planys are used as raw materials for woven crafts. Bamboo Reeds are into baskets and mistaken products. Coconut leaves are made into rattan products. Nipah leaf is made intoa woven roofing product. Pandan thom leaves are made into woven products for table mats, wallets, bags, pencil cases, tissues and mats. Resam rod is made into woven ring and bracelet products. The Plantation is one of the basic needs supporting of human. Plantation development in North Sulawesi implemented with resource management and maintenance. So with this duties and responsibilities by the government, in this case Department of Plantation of North Sulawesi Province is more. The purpose of this research was to determine the financial performance of the Department of Plantation of North Sulawesi Province, through the measurement of 3E (economy, efficiency, and effectiveness). In this research, measurement of economic value is using interview techniques, efficiency value is using the ratio of output and input value from data LAKIP of Department of Plantation of North Sulawesi Province, while the value is calculated based on comparison of outcomes and outputs value, where the outcome shows the level of community satisfaction obtained from the questionnaires to the people of North Sulawesi Province. The results of this research indicate that the economy and efficiency value of the Department of Plantation of North Sulawesi Province Department of Plantation of North Sulawesi Province were able to achieve fairly good results. But, the level of effectiveness is still lacking, because it is based on the level of community satisfaction that is not maximized.

Alga is a marine resource of potential to fisheries and marine sector. It has an important economic value to promote the economy in Indonesia. Nowdays, algae have been used as a relatively high value fisheries commodity since it has been used for food, industrial, pharmaceutical and cosmetic raw materials. This important potential needs to be supported with understanding of its biology and ecology, so that its utilization could increase the livelihood of the coastal villagers. This study was aimed at inventorying and identifying the members of genus Caulerpa found in North Minahasa Regency waters and studying some biological and ecological aspects of the algae in the area. Resuls showed that there were 7 species recorded, Caulerpa racemosa, C. racemosa var. macrophysa, C. sertularioides, C. taxifolia, C. serrulata,C. lentillifera and C. peltata. Ecologically, the environmental parameters, such as water temperature, salinity, pH, dissolved oxygen, turbidity, were in tolerable ranges for algal growth. Bottom substrate supported the growth of genus Caulerpa as well© Saat ini alga dijadikan sebagai komoditas hasil perikanan dengan nilai ekonomis yang relatif tinggi karena manfaatnya sebagai bahan makanan serta bahan baku industri, farmasi, dan kosmetik. Potensi yang cukup penting ini harus ditunjang dengan ilmu pengetahuan tentang biologi dan ekologi dari alga laut, sehingga pemanfaatannya dapat meningkatkan taraf hidup masyarakat pesisir. Penelitian tentang kajian bioekologi alga makro genus Caulerpa di perairan Minahasa Utara ini dilaksanakan dan diharapkan dapat memberikan informasi ilmiah tentang bioekologi alga makro genus Caulerpa, sehingga dapat dimanfaatkan untuk pengembangan pemanfaatan bagi kepentingan masyarakat pesisir khususnya dan industri alga makro umumnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menginventarisasi dan mengidentifikasi alga makro genus Caulerpa di perairan Kabupaten Minahasa Utara, dan mengkaji aspek bioekologinya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ditemukan 7 spesies, yaitu Caulerpa racemosa, C. racemosa var. macrophysa, C. sertularioides, C. taxifolia, C. serrulata, C. lentillifera dan C. peltata. Parameter lingkungan seperti suhu, salinitas, pH, oksigen terlarut, tingkat kecerahan air berada pada kisaran yang dapat ditolerir untuk pertumbuhan alga makro, sedangkan substrat juga mendukung pertumbuhan alga makro ini©

The food industry is one of the industries that is growing very rapidly throughout the world, including in Indonesia. Various types of food and beverages with an attractive appearance continue to be produced to increase the aesthetic value and attractiveness of consumers. Food and beverage production processes include the selection of raw materials, food and beverage processing, food and beverage quality testing, packaging to the food and beverage distribution process. Every process that takes place must be controlled so that the final product produced is safe and suitable for consumption by consumers. Zalacca production in Karangasem Regency is very good to be developed into the useful food industry. The development of the zalacca-based food industry can increase added value for the people and zalacca commodities. The results of the study using the Process Hierarchy Analysis methodology show that Chips, Syrups, and Extracts occupy high yields to be developed.

AbstractThe target of this program is located in Tateli Tiga Village, Mandolang District, Minahasa Regency, which is geographically very strategic for developing seaweed beverage processing industries. This village is a culinary tourism area, where there are many food and beverage entrepreneurs. North Sulawesi, is a large producer of seaweed, thus the availability of raw materials is easy to obtain and adequate for industrial processing. Processing of seaweed drinks consisting of syrup, juice and instant powder, is very easy and the marketing is not difficult, can be reached by the upper and lower economic class communities. The aim of this program is to develop new business fields to improve the economy of the community and increase the selling value and economy of seaweed. The specific target of this PKM program is 1. producing seaweed drinks to meet sanitary and hygienic requirements, packaged and labeled well / attractively 2. Developing seaweed syrup beverage industry business. The implementation methods agreed with partners are: 1. Problems in the production of seaweed syrup drinks, product marketing and finance 2. Sulawesi utara, merupakan penghasil rumput laut yang besar, dengan demikian ketersediaan bahan baku mudah diperoleh dan memadai untuk pengolahan secara industri.  Pengolahan minuman rumput laut yang terdiri dari sirup, sari dan serbuk instant, sangat mudah serta pemasarannya  tidak sukar, dapat dijangkau oleh masyarakat kelas ekonomi  atas maupun bawah. Tujuan program ini yaitu pengembangan lapangan usaha baru untuk meningkatkatkan ekonomi masyarakat serta meningkatkan nilai jual dan ekonomi rumput laut. Target khusus program PKM ini  yaitu 1. memproduksi minuman  rumput laut memenuhi syarat sanitasi dan higienis, dikemas dan dilabel dengan baik/menarik  2.  Mengembangkan usaha  industri minuman sirup rumput laut . Adapun metoda pelaksanaan yang disepakati dengan mitra yaitu: 1. Masalah produksi minuman sirup rumput laut, pemasaran produk dan keuangan 2. Community service activities in the form of training in the application of appropriate technology for shredded production aimed at providing entrepreneurial skills and motivation. In this activity, technical guidance is carried out to increase knowledge and skills as well as work insights to the target so that they can form a shredded meat business group so that they can supply shredded needs for the people in the city of Kendari and surrounding areas. The activity method uses the technical guidance method where the participants are first given counseling related to basic knowledge of raw materials, equipment, manufacturing processes and abon assessment. Then there was a demonstration to make floss making involving the participants. The results achieved in this activity, in the form of increased knowledge and understanding of the training participants consisting of alumni of the Department of Animal Science, Halu Oleo University, were very interested and enthusiastic about receiving training materials and were very actively participating in the training activities. This situation shows that alumni majoring in animal husbandry are still in dire need of additional practice material because of the limited practical opportunities they have. In evaluating activities, participants' perception responses to follow-up activities are divided into three categories. Most want to make it for consumption and sell it as a source of income (60%), some want to make it for their own consumption with their families (30%) and some are interested but it is difficult to buy raw meat because of economic incapability (10%).

AbstractIndonesian fisheries resources regarding food in the fisheries sector have great potential, this is an important factor in supporting national development.This study aims to determine the management of "fufu" fish business in Tambala Kampung Baru Village, Tombariri District, Minahasa Regency, North Sulawesi Province, namely the system of processing and marketing of "fufu" fish.The research method is descriptive in order to describe the characteristics of a situation. Data retrieval is done by census method, where there are 19 "fufu" fish business owners, then data is collected on all business objects. Primary data was taken through direct interviews using a questionnaire to "fufu" fish business owners and secondary data is the data of viewers in this study."Fufu" fish production in Tambala Kampung Baru Village is adjusted to the acquisition of capital obtained by the business owner, where in 10 respondents it can be seen that the availability of raw materials in the production process varies from 300 kg to 500 kg. Marketing plans have been established after business planning.The economic aspect of the "fufu" fish business can provide good profit. This is because operational costs are relatively low, when compared to other businesses, producer marketing is not difficult, and the average processing process is carried out for 7 days.Keywords: management, "fufu" fish business, tambala village AbstrakSumberdaya perikanan Indonesia menyangkut bahan pangan dalam bidang perikanan memiliki potensi besar, hal ini merupakan faktor penting dalam menunjang pembangunan bangsa.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui manajemen usaha ikan “fufu” di Desa Tambala Kampung Baru Kecamatan Tombariri Kabupaten Minahasa Propinsi Sulawesi Utara yaitu sistem pengolahan dan pemasaran ikan “fufu”.Metode penelitian bersifat deskriptif dengan tujuan menguraikan sifat-sifat dari suatu keadaan. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan metode sensus, dimana terdapat 19 pemilik usaha ikan “fufu”, kemudian dilakukan pengambilan data terhadap keseluruhan objek usaha. Data primer diambil melalui wawancara secara langsung dengan menggunakan kuesioner kepada pemilik usaha ikan “fufu” dan data sekunder merupakan data-data penujang dalam penelitian ini.Produksi ikan “fufu” di Desa Tambala Kampung Baru disesuaikan dengan perolehan modal yang diperoleh pemilik usaha, dimana dalam 10 responden dapat dilihat ketersedian bahan baku dalam proses produksi bervariasi antara 300 kg sampai dengan 500 kg. Rencanah pemasaran sudah ditetapkan setelah adanya perencanan usaha.Segi ekonomis usaha ikan “fufu” dapat memberikan keutungan yang baik. Hal ini disebabkan biaya oprasionalnya relatif rendah, bila dibandingkan dengan usaha lain, produsen pemasaran tidak sulit, dan proses pengolahan rata-rata dilakukan selama 7 hari.Kata kunci: Manajemen, usaha ikan “fufu”, Desa Tambala
