Against the background of globalization and the deepening struggle for international markets, competitiveness is among the most important indicators describing the performance of an enterprise. The purpose of this study is to create a methodology for assessing the level of competitiveness of enterprises. The proposed methodology is based on a dual model integrating the parametric and nonparametric methods for assessing the effect of using the financial mechanisms of competitiveness management. This study relies on regression and factor analysis. The focus is on the competitiveness level of 12 agricultural enterprises operating in Russia. Among the studied enterprises, the most competitive one is the enterprise that makes the best use of available resources when moving toward the desired amount of income (profit) and minimum costs. The proposed approach allows not only to assess the true level of competitiveness of an enterprise but also to identify reserves it can exploit to improve its competitiveness using financial instruments. At the same time, the stochastic dual approach proved to be a better choice in developing a competitiveness strategy.

The development of foreign economic activity in the conditions of protectionist measures in the domestic markets of Ukraine is one of the main directions of increasing the level of competitiveness of domestic enterprises in the agricultural sector. Entering markets with a high level of competition and the widespread use of modern technologies creates opportunities for new experience and knowledge, which can be key factors in the success of the enterprise in the future. The foreign economic activity of Ukrainian enterprises in the agricultural sector is characterized by high potential for further development, however, in the current and retrospective perspective does not show effective trends for rapid growth in the future. Therefore, it is necessary to develop and use a number of scientifically sound proposals that logically follow from the results of the analysis and take into account the national characteristics of doing business in a high level of economic and political instability. The article analyzes the dynamics of export-import operations in the field of agricultural products, formed a classification of factors influencing the development of this industry, and which, unlike others, is based on the impor-tance of these factors, which allows to build an exhaustive list of those factors. whose impact is insignificant and taking into account those whose impact cannot be ignored, as they can play a crucial role in ensuring a certain level of success of domestic agricultural enterprises in international markets. This made it possible to formulate the author's proposals to improve the process of selecting alternative factors for assessing the foreign economic activity of enterprises in the agricultural sector in international markets. Based on the analysis of the dynamics of export-import operations in the agricultural sector, a classification of factors influencing the development of this industry was formed, which, unlike others, is based on the importance of these factors, which allows us to build an exhaustive list of those factors. which are insignificant and taking into account those whose impact cannot be ignored, as they can play a crucial role in ensuring a certain level of success of domestic agricultural enterprises in international markets. Keywords: competitiveness, foreign economic activity, agrarian enterprises, classification of factors, methodical and applied tools. In modern agriculture with its own technical needs, it is practically impossible without effective management measures and attraction of borrowed capital. Sustainable development of agriculture, including the plant industry, of course, depends on the technical equipment of agricultural enterprises. The use of financial instruments and management mechanisms is an opportunity for agricultural producers to improve their potentials, including improving and maintaining agricultural equipment at the proper level, since the activity involves the implementation of a large amount of mechanized work in order to produce strategically important products. All this contributes to increasing the efficiency of the production system and provides for the renewal and formation of the technical and technological potential of the plant growing industry, and this in turn leads to the development of the agro-industrial complex as a whole.

In today's market economy, competition is an important concept. Today, issues of competition and competitiveness are especially relevant due to the processes of globalization and intensification of competition between producers of goods and services. As a result, the question arises as to what makes one producer better than another and whether he is able to fully meet the needs of his consumer, thus ensuring his profit? Therefore, assessing the competitive advantages, production, personnel, technological and marketing capabilities of the enterprise, as well as identifying ways to improve them affect the competitiveness of the enterprise in both domestic and foreign markets, as well as the possibility of expanding into new markets. Assessing the competitiveness of the enterprise allows to determine its advantages and disadvantages in comparison with competitors, identify ways to improve it, strengthen the company's position in the national market and identify new target markets. The article provides a review of scientific literature, research and publications on the subject of research, describes the methods, their advantages and disadvantages for assessing the competitiveness of the enterprise in terms of entering new international markets. The stages, the sequence of which must be followed when assessing the competitiveness of enterprises, are summarized. The main indicators, factors, as well as some characteristics of the product that affect the competitiveness of enterprises are presented. It is established that for effective assessment of the competitiveness of the enterprise in terms of entering new international markets, it is advisable to use a set of several valuation methods using a certain sequence. The evaluation results influence the choice of strategy and forms of the company's entry into new international markets, market choice, sales policy, and also allows to effectively assess the company's performance and ability to respond quickly and effectively to external changes, make the right management decisions and take measures to improve competitiveness of the enterprise.

The article examines and systematizes factors affecting the viability of an agricultural enterprise (external: economic, political, legal, technological, climatic, socio-demographic, market) and internal factors (financial and economic, material and technical, production and technological, personnel and intellectual , innovative and environmental), which made it possible to substantiate the differences in the parameters for assessing the viability of an agricultural enterprise and, on this basis, build a three-vector model for assessing the viability of an enterprise for a targeted search for possible ways to increase its viability. An algorithm for assessing the viability of an enterprise has been built, including an assessment of the dynamics of indicators, their factor analysis and determination of the state of viability, which allows not only assessing the current state, but also predicting future development, which makes it possible for the enterprise to timely identify deviations and make informed management decisions. The practical significance of the obtained results of the study lies in the possibility of using the obtained theoretical and methodological provisions in the practical activities of agricultural enterprises to ensure their viability through the application in practice of evaluating the parameters that determine the viability of an enterprise as a tool for managing sustainable development.

This article presents a reflection and comparison of two of my teaching pedagogical approaches for the Business Organisations Law curriculum to undergraduate non-law students at Charles Sturt University. The purpose is to compare and evaluate efficacy of a traditional, lecture-based learning (LBL)i with a combination of LBL and problem-based learning (PBL)ii in improving performance and outcomes for students enrolled in the accounting and business degrees. Research methods to compare outcomes and performances were evaluated using modified versions of several LBL and PBL related survey questionnaires and a Study Process Questionnaire (SPV) developed by John Biggs for use with Australian tertiary students, and validated for use with students in several Asian countries. Data regarding students’ perceptions of LBL and a combination of LBL and PBL were further collected using a 13-point interview questionnaire. Responses from a Likert scale were calculated in percentages and considered in terms of a mean response and data from the qualitative responses coded in NVIVO and analysed thematically. Also, ‘tests scores’ (assignments and final exam results - mostly problem questions) from a traditional LBL class were compared with the scores from a mixture of both LBL and PBL. Though groups’ means of both LBL and PBL were closer, the results combined with other indicia revealed that students studying the course through a combination of both lectures and PBL tutorials in a teaching session performed significantly better. The paper recommends a cumulative dual approach as effective course delivering methods.

Introduction. This research evaluates the generic competences of the managers that belong to the 20 World Class Sectors, according to the Productive Transformation Program in Colombia. Method. A survey applied to 280 managers seeks to evaluate the 27 generic competences of the Tuning Project, using descriptive statistics and exploratory factor analysis to measure three dimensions: motivation/commitment, self-efficacy and the competence’s origin. Results. The most necessary skills to boost the positioning of these companies in international markets are the weakest. The findings’ relevance indicates that the managers’ commitment and motivation is greater than the effectiveness in their performance; also, the findings emphasize the family education as one of the main sources of their competences.

The efficiency of agricultural enterprises in the market environment depends on the level of their competitiveness. Competition encourages producers of agricultural products to implement the results of scientific and technological progress, the use of new unique technologies and products, and ensures the active development of agricultural production. Since competitiveness is one of the main indicators of the state of enterprises, its increase becomes one of the main strategic tasks of ensuring their stable development. The study of theoretical and practical issues of increasing the competitiveness of enterprises was carried out by many domestic and foreign scientists. The article presents their theoretical approaches to defining the concept of «enterprise competitiveness». Since the activities of enterprises in the agricultural sector have characteristic features associated with the specifics of agriculture, the essence of the concept of «competitiveness of agricultural enterprises» is defined. The competitiveness of enterprises in the agricultural sector depends on a number of factors that are of different nature, origin and level of impact. For effective management of the competitiveness of economic entities in the agricultural sector, a classification of their factors is proposed. Among them, natural-geographical, scientific and technical, social, organizational, financial and economic, environmental and political factors are highlighted. The article presents the scientific substantiation of the above factors and analyzes their impact on the activities of enterprises in the agricultural sector. Taking these factors into account will increase the production of high quality products, make a profit, and will help accelerate the industry's recovery from the financial crisis. The article presents a mechanism for increasing the competitiveness of agricultural enterprises and describes its stages: analysis of the competitive positions of an agricultural enterprise, the formation and implementation of the mechanism. The measures and priority directions of increasing the competitiveness of the subjects of the agrarian market are proposed.
