Background: Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) destroys the antibody system, which causes faster protein breakdown resulting in lower albumin concentration. Zinc supplementation when added to protein in milkfish flour may increase albumin and zinc levels that associated with activity of the aminolevulinic acid dehydrase (ALAD) that synthesizes heme. Objectives: This study aimed to prove the effect of zinc and milkfish flour addition on albumin and hemoglobin levels in HIV/AIDS patients.Methods: An experimental study with randomized pre and post-test with the control group design using control subjects (n=17) and treatment (n=21). The administration of milkfish nastar with zinc to treatment group was 100 g/day for 60 days, while the control group was given milkfish nastar without zinc 100 g/day for 60 days. The measurement of albumin level used auto photometric with enzymatic color test methods and reticulated method for hemoglobin level measurement conducted before and after treatments. Data were analyzed using Shapiro-Wilk, paired t-test, and independent t-test with a significance value at p<0.05. Results: The means of albumin level in the treatment group increased by 7.03%, while the control group increased by 4.33% (p>0.05). Means of hemoglobin level in the treatment group increased by 12.0%, while the control group increased by 7.9% (p<0.05). Conclusion: Albumin and hemoglobin levels increased after milkfish nastar administration with zinc addition in HIV/AIDS patients.

Background: Zinc supplementation decrease the risk of malaria parasitaemia, increasing ferritin serum level and hemoglobin in patients with malaria. Zinc influence the activity of aminolevulinic acid dehydratase (ALAD) an enzymes that catalizes heme synthesize. Vitamin B6 in pyridoxal 5-phosphate (PLP) from has a role in alpha-aminolevulinic acid (ALA) formation, which is the precursor of heme in hemoglobin. PLP also inhibit the growth of the malaria parasite.Objective: The objective was to analyze the effect of zinc and vitamin B6 supplementation on hemoglobin level, hematocrit and erythrocyte indexs (MCV, MCH and MCHC) of anemic Plasmodium vivax malaria patients.Methods: Double Blind Randomised Controlled Trial with pre and post test design. 30 subjects were divided into two groups: the suplementation group were given zinc 1x10 mg/day with vitamin B6 1x5 mg/day and the control group were given a placebo for 30 days. Data analysis by paired t-test, independent t-test and Mann Whitney.Results: There was an increase in Hb levels in the suplementation group (p=0.0001), the control group (p=0.001) and there was a significant difference on the increase between the two groups (p=0.020). Hematocrit significant increase only in the suplementation group (p=0.0001). There were no differences on erythrocyte index parameter in both groups.Conclusion: Zinc and vitamin B6 supplementation of for 30 days increase the hemoglobin level, hematocrit and there were no effect on erythrocyte indexs of anemic Plasmodium vivax malaria patients.

PENGARUH PEMBERIAN ASAM TRANEKSAMAT TERHADAP JUMLAH PERDARAHAN PASCASALIN PADA KELAHIRAN VAGINALLaili Chilmawati1 , Heru Pradjatmo2, H.R. Siswosudarmo3 ABSTRACT Background: Maternal mortality is the great problem in developing countries and postpartum hemorrhage is the main cause. Obstetrics intervention and uterotonics agents have been used to control postpartum hemorrhage, but the use of hemostatic agent is still in the study.Objective: To compare the effect of tranexamic acid on postpartum hemorrhage and its potential side effects compared with placebo in vaginal deliveryMethods: A Double blindrandomized controlled Trial (RCT). We conducted a total of 198 subjects who met the inclusion criteria were recruited. The treatment group was those who got one gram tranexamic injection and the the control group those who got placebo. Independent sample t-test, chi-square and linear regression were used for statistical in treatment group analysis.Results and Discussion: A total of 198 subjects met the inclusion criteria, consisting of 99 subjects and 99 in the control group. No significant difference was found on the amount of postpartum hemorrhage (102.13±67.34 ml vs.110.58±73.57 ml;p=0.40), nor on the difference of hemoglobin level (0.99±1.13 g/dLvs.1.05 ± 0.93 g/dLp=0.66), and of hematocrit level (4.06 ± 3.73 vs.4.58±4.18%;p=0.36). The use of other uterotonics gave the significant difference at the decrease of hemoglobin level (p=0,02). Side effect of nausea and vomiting at tranexamic acid group didn’t differ from placebo (p=1,00).Conclusion: There was no difference between the use of tranexamic acid and placebo in terms of number of bleeding the decrease of haemoglobin and hematocrit. Keywords: tranexamic acid; postpartum hemorrhage; hemoglobin and hematocryte level, vaginal delivery. ABSTRAK Latar belakang: Kematian ibu merupakan masalah yang besar di negara sedang berkembang. Perdarahan pascasalin merupakan penyebab paling utama kematian ibu. Intervensi obstetrik dan obat-obat uterotonika telah digunakan secara optimal untuk mengatasi perdarahan pascasalin, tetapi obat hemostatik masih dalam kajian.Tujuan: Mengetahui pengaruh asam traneksamat terhadap jumlah perdarahan pascasalin pada persalinan vaginal dan efek samping yang mungkin terjadi.Metode Penelitian: Metode penelitian ini adalah Randomized Controlled Trial (RCT). Subyek penelitian adalah pasien dengan persalinan vaginal yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi. Kelompok penelitian adalah mereka yang mendapat injeksi asam traneksamat 1 gram intravena sedang kelompok control adalah mereka yang mendapat plasebo. Independent t-test, chi-square dan regresi linier digunakan untuk analisis statistika.Hasil dan Pembahasan: Sebanyak 198 subyek memenuhi memenuhi kriteria kelayakan, terdiri atas 99 subyek masuk ke dalam kelompok perlakuan dan 99 subyek yang masuk dalam kelompok kontrol. Tidak didapatkan perbedaan secara bermakna pada jumlah perdarahan kala IV (102,13±67,34 ml vs 110,58±73,57 ml, p=0,40), penurunan kadar hemoglobin (0,99±1,13 g/dLvs.1,05±0,93 g/dL, p=0,66) dan penurunan kadar hematokrit (4,06±3,73 vs.4,58±4,18%, p=0,36). Penggunaan uterotonika lain memberikan perbedaan secara signifikan terhadap penurunan kadar hemoglobin (p=0,02). Kadar hemoglobin awal dan kadar hematokrit awal memberikan perbedaan secara signifikan terhadap penurunan kadar hematokrit (p=0,006 dan 0,01). The needed of Iron Tablet in pregnancy was increase than mother who not pregnant.  That  cause of  high metabolism at the pregnancy for formed of  fetal organ and energy. One of effort for prevent anemia in mother pregnant with giving the Iron tablet and vitamin c. The reason of  this research in 4 June – 11 July 2014 is for compare the effect of  iron tablet suplementation with and without vitamin C toward Hemoglobin level in mother pregnant With Gestational Age Of 16-32 Weeks In Desa Keniten Kecamatan Mojo Kabupaten Kediri. This research method using comparative analytical.  Research design type of Quasy Eksperiment that have treatment group and control group. Treatment group will giving by Iron tablet and 100 mg vitamin C, and control group just giving by iron tablet during 21 days. Population in this research are all of mother pregnant with Gestational Age Of 16-32 Weeks with Sampling technique is  cluster random sampling is 29 mother pregnant. Comparison analysis of  iron tablet suplementation effect with and without vitamin C toward Hemoglobin level in mother pregnant With Gestational Age Of 16-32 Weeks, data analysis using Mann Whitney U-test and the calculated U value (44,5) less than U-table (51). So there was difference of iron tablet suplementation effect with and without vitamin C toward Hemoglobin level in mother pregnant With Gestational Age Of 16-32 Weeks Therefore, the addition of vitamin C on iron intake is needed to increase the uptake of iron tablets. The research aimed at investigating the effect of giving counterpressure technique to decrease the intensity of pain in the first stage of labor in the delivery room of RSUD Sawerigading Palopo. This study was conducted in a preexperimental manner with static group comparison design, in subject static group comparison design divided into two groups, where the treatment group was followed by observation and observation result compared with the observation result in the control group which only received standard treatment. Data were analyzed using T test. Where t value hit 6.971> t table 2.05, so it can be concluded that the results obtained mean that there is influence of counterpressure technique is big enough to decrease the intensity of labor pain. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pelatihan three corner drill terhadap kelincahan dan power otot tungkai. Jenis penelitian adalah quasi experimental dengan rancangan the non-randomized pretest-posttest control group design. Subjek penelitian yang digunakan siswa putra peserta ektrakurikuler sepak bola SMPN 2 Pekutatan. Data post-test kelincahan dan power otot tungkai pada kelompok perlakuan dan kelompok kontrol dianalisis dengan uji-t independent pada taraf signifikansi (α) 0,05 dengan bantuan program SPSS 16.0. Berdasarkan hasil uji-t independent didapatkan hasil : (1) untuk variabel kelincahan, hasil perbandingan kelompok perlakuan dan kontrol didapatkan nilai thitung = -2,948 , dengan nilai signifikansi 0,009, (2) untuk variabel power, hasil perbandingan kelompok perlakuan dan kontrol didapatkan nilai thitung = 3,176, dengan nilai signifikansi 0,005. Nilai signifikansi hitung lebih kecil dari nilai α (Sig < 0,05), dengan demikian hipotesis penelitian “pelatihan three corner drill berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan kelincahan dan power otot tungkai pada siswa putra peserta ektrakurikuler sepak bola SMPN 2 Pekutatan” diterima. Dari hasil analisis data dan pembahasan disimpulkan bahwa : (1) Pelatihan three corner drill berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan kelincahan pada siswa putra peserta ektrakurikuler sepak bola SMP Negeri 2 Pekutatan (2) Pelatihan three corner drill berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan power otot tungkai pada siswa putra peserta ektrakurikuler sepak bola SMP Negeri 2 Pekutatan. Kata Kunci : kelincahan, daya ledak, three corner drill The purpose of this research was to find out the effect of three corner drill training toward the increased agility and power muscle of legs. The type of research was a quasi-experimental and the design of research was the non-randomized pretest-posttest control group design. The subjects were man’s student football extracurricular participants of SMPN 2 Pekutatan. Agility and muscle power of legs posttest to the treatment group and the control group were analyzed by independent t-test at significance 0,05 with SPSS 16.0. Based on independent t-test results were showed : (1) to the agility variable, the comparison of the treatment and the control group values obtained t = -2,948, with a significance value of 0,009, (2) to muscle power of legs variable, the comparison of the treatment and the control group values obtained t = 3,176, with a significance value of 0,005. Calculated significance value smaller than the value of 0,05 (Sig < 0.05), thus the research hypothesis "three corner drill training affect the increased agility and muscle power of legs in football extracurricular participants of SMPN 2 Pekutatan " was received. From the analyzed and discussion were concluded that : (1) three corner drill training effect the increased agility in football extracurricular participants of SMPN 2 Pekutatan, (2) three corner drill training effect the increased muscle power of legs in football extracurricular participants of SMPN 2 Pekutatan. keyword : Agility, power, three corner drill

Background: The incidence of burns in Indonesia progressively increases with the increase in its population and industries. From January to September 2000, 158 patients were treated in the burn unit of Dr Soetomo Hospital with a mortality rate reaching 5,8%. Burns have a direct effect in causing both local and systemic changes in the body, not occurring in other injuries. In severe burns, a hypermetabolic state can occur, which increases cardiac workload and causes muscle atrophy and other morbidities. The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of propranolol on the hypermetabolic state in severely burned patients by measuring various clinical & laboratory parameters.Methods : This is an experimental study using pre and post test control group design with the objective of assessing the treatment outcome with oral propranolol given in 15 consecutive days for burn patients involving 25%- 60% TBSA. Measurements were taken three times, on day 0, 7 and 14.Results : Obtained 16 samples divided into 2 groups. In the treatment group, there was a significant decrease in CRP levels on days 0, 7 and 14 (p <0.05). The Mid Arm Circumference variable did not obtain a significant decreasing on days 0, 7 and 14. The albumin level studied showed a significant decreasing on day 0 & 7 days with a value of p = 0.045. From the comparison between the two groups, there were significant differences in CRP levels on days 0 & 14, with the mean value of the treatment group -5.12 + 2.88 and the mean value of the control group 2.86 + 7.37, and the value of p = 0.019.Conclusions: This study successfully proved that the administration of propranolol can overcome the effects of hypermetabolism which is characterized by decreasing in CRP levels.

IMPROVEMENT OF HEMOGLOBIN (Hb) LEVELS IN PREGNANT WOMEN WITH ANEMIA WITH THE CONSUMPTION OF JAMBU SEEDS (PSIDIUM GUAJAVA. L) ABSTRACT Background Anemia in pregnancy is a national problem because it reflects the socio-economic condition of the community and its influence is very large on the quality of human resources. The incidence of anemia in pregnant women 2018 in Pesisir Barat Regency is 29.9%. The incidence of anemia in pregnant women at Krui Health Center is 67.5%. The purpose of this study is to know the effect of giving guava juice (Psidium Guajava. L) to the increase of hemoglobin (Hb) levels in pregnant women with anemia in Krui health center in 2019.Methods Quantitative Research Type, the research design is a quasi-experimental method with a Non-equivalent Control Group Design approach. The population in this study were as many as 60 second trimester pregnant women and third trimester who had anemia, a sample of 30 pregnant women. 15 people were given treatment with guava fruit juice and Fe tablets, and 15 people were given treatment with Fe tablets, with inclusion criteria Willing to be respondents, Willing to consume guava juice, Pregnant women with mild and moderate anemia with hemoglobin levels (Hb 7.9 - 10 g / dl). With purposive sampling sampling technique. Analyze data with T-test (univariat and bivariat).The results showed an average hemoglobin level before consumption of guava juice and Fe tablets of 9.72 gr / dl, the average hemoglobin level after consumption of guava juice and Fe tablets was 11.13 gr / dl, the average hemoglobin level before consumption of Fe tablets of 9.80 gr / dl, the average hemoglobin level after consumption of FE tablets was 10.60 gr / dl. Conclusion It was known that there was an effect of giving guava juice (Psidium Guajava. L) to Hb levels in pregnant women with anemia in Krui Public Health Center, West Coast District in 2019. The results of the t test were p value 0,000 <α (0.05).Suggestion  It is recommended for health workers, especially midwives, to encourage pregnant women to consume guava juice as a companion to Fe because it can raise hemoglobin levels in pregnant women. Keywords              : Guava Juice, Tablets Fe, Hemoglobin Level ABSTRAK Latar Belakang Anemia pada kehamilan merupakan masalah nasional karena mencerminkan keadaan sosial ekonomi masyarakat dan pengaruhnya sangat besar terhadap kualitas sumber daya manusia. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah sebanyak 60 orang ibu hamil trimester II dan trimester III yang mengalami anemia, Sampel sebanyak 30 ibu hamil. 15 orang diberikan perlakuan dengan jus jambu biji dan tablet Fe, dan 15 orang diberikan perlakun dengan tablet Fe, dengan kriteria inklusi Bersedia menjadi responden, Bersedia mengkonsumsi jus jambu biji, Ibu hamil dengan anemia ringan dan sedang dengan kadar hemoglobin (Hb 7,9 – 10 g/dl). Dengan teknik sampling purposive sampling. Analisa data dengan uji T-test (univariat dan bivariat).Hasil penelitian menunjukan rata-rata kadar hemoglobin sebelum konsumsi jus jambu biji dan tablet Fe sebesar 9,72 gr/dl, rata-rata kadar hemoglobin setelah konsumsi jus jambu biji dan tablet Fe sebesar 11,13 gr/dl, rata-rata kadar hemoglobin sebelum konsumsi tablet Fe sebesar 9,80 gr/dl, rata-rata kadar hemoglobin setelah konsumsi tablet Fe sebesar 10,60 gr/dl.Kesimpulan Diketahui Ada Pengaruh Pemberian Jus Jambu Biji (Psidium Guajava. L) Terhadap Kadar Hb pada Ibu Hamil dengan Anemia di Puskesmas Krui Kabupaten Pesisir Barat Tahun 2019. The using of plant-based medicine is a popular approach to health care. A study presented by American Hearth Association showing that brown rice can lower cholesterol level in bood serum. To know the benefi ts of Angkak’s steeping water to decrease serum cholesterol levels in mice and determine the effects of Angkak’s steeping water to decrease serum cholesterol levels in rats compared with simvastatin. This study used an experimental research design, and using pre and post test control group design, performed in the laboratory of biomedical III FK UMS on November 1, 2012 to date of January 1, 2013. The purposive sampling technique, sampel determinaton using formula Federer by the number of sample of 30 male white rats wistar strain. After the data is collected, analyzed using the Shapiro-Wilk test, ANOVA, LSD, and the unpaired t test. The result of this study demnstrate hypothesis testing using ANOVA test with signifi cant level 95% of the negative control group, the treatment group a dose of 1, 2, and 3, it was found p<0,05 were signifi cantly different meaning. In the test dose of LSD between treatment groups 2 and 3 the value of p=0,839 (p>0,05) wich means no signifi cant difference. In the unpaired T test between the treatment group a dose of 1, 2, and 3 with positive control group were signifi cant difference. The unpaired T test between the treatment group a dose of 1, 2, and 3 with white rice also found signifi cant difference. Conclusion: Angkak’s steeping water can lower serum cholesterol levels of white rat as well as the water steepimg Angkak has the same effectiveness with simvastatin to decrease serum cholesterol levels of mice.Keyword: Cholesterol, Angkak

Religious values need are very imporant for convicts at LPKA Class two Pekanbaru. Religion is an obvious influenced source in issuing the meaning of life to convicts. The research objective is to know how far the influence of gratefulness training in improving life meaning of convicts at LPKA class two Pekanbaru is.The researcher used experiment approaching pre and post-test control group designwith 23 control groupsand 23 treatment groups,anddata analysis independent sample t-test was obtained score  t= 6,894 (p<0,01). Average score from treatment group are higher  (23,057) than control group average (15,6). It shows that life meaning of convicts who get gratefulness training are higher than convicts who don’t join the training. With thus, it can be concluded that gratefulness training very influence significantly to the life meaning of convicts at LPKA class 2 Pekanbaru.

Background. Hypertension can be a risk factor for stroke, coronary heart disease, heart failure and kidney failure and is known as the thesilent killer. The prevalence of hypertension in West Nusa Tenggara Province is 24.3% (Riskesdas, 2013). Medical Record Data of Mataram City Public Hospital, hypertension became the first of the top 10 outpatient diseases in 2015. The only treatment for non-pharmacological hypertension was by increasing fruit and vegetable consumption due to high potassium content. Research Methods. The type of this research is experimentation with Randomized Control Trial (RCT) design with Pretest-Posttest with Control Group design. The number of subjects is 20 people obtained from the formula Lemeshow (1997). Both groups continued to take antihypertensive drugs, but the treatment group was given 250 ml of starfruit juice and cucumber juice for 7 days. The statistical analysis used was the paired t-test and independent t-test. Research Result. The average blood pressure before the study in the treatment group was 150/91 mmHg, in the control group it was 142/83 mmHg. The average blood pressure after the study for the treatment group was 132/81 mmHg, while the control group was 144/81 mmHg. There was a decrease in blood pressure in the treatment group after the intervention was 18 mmHg for systolic (p = 0.000) and 10 mmHg for diastolic (p = 0.004), but there was no decrease in blood pressure both systolic and diastolic in the control group. Conclusion. Giving a mixture of star fruit and cucumber juice affects the decrease in systolic and diastolic blood pressure.
